This place is the best,The rainforest is a flourishing habitat, full of many types of plants, animals, and insects, Its splendidly lovely When the sun shines on top of trees, its orange light hits the Hills in a dazzling way.

Great scenery. Beautiful waterfalls. Go in the morn or evening to glimpse the animals. Stay a day or two if you can to drive around and see them all.

A good mountain to hike in 2 days. Challenging and fun at the same time. Going past the communities and wall of death makes the mountain experience. Recommended to hike during a dry season to avoid the slippery parts. Expect some cold at the camps for the nights .

The park is one of the best kept secrets in the country. It has a large number of animals and beautiful undisturbed environment. If you are a keen bird watcher, the Sanctuary has more than 100 bird species and about 300 elephants. Dont forget to visit Kitum caves, which is about 170 meters deep.

The most beautiful scenery i have ever come across reach with culture. The people around are well known as Gishu from Mt Elgon.

Place is very cold past stent. And when you use kaberwa road it will important that you ask for pure honey and sweet local drink knon as lakweek

Yes the place is really worth visiting despite living just adjuscent I last visited the area with student colleagues in 1995 from Nabumali secondary school but no doubt it is attractive seeing the many tourists flocking the place

Amazing park, with a number of campsites to take a rest. Near the entrance theres a small accommodation area with guest house and cottages. Mt Elgon is not far. Its either 2-day hike from the gate or if using 4WD car one-day if you start from the end of the road. At the gate you can use services of very nice and knowledgeable guides which is a very smart idea if you are first time there. Its rather safe hiking there but its good to get a first hand knowledge from experienced locals. The Kitum cave is mind blowing but dont try to get there at night as you might meet elephants there 😀

Sitting in the backyard of my village in Bunasekye. For some this is Mt. Elgon National Park. The lush green hills are serene except for the occasional entourage of youth, waists gyrating to the kadodi drum beat, dancing up and down the slopes, for gifts from relatives homes. The days are running out after all as the circumcision year winds up.

The upper parts of Elgon are really hilly with rain throughout in the afternoon. The major supply of tap water in Sironko gets water from river diriganyi. Diriganyi is the coldest running water in the tropical region. The place along the river are too cold like and open active operating refrigerator

Its park in western part of the country. One of the access gates is Chorlim Gate in Endebess approximately 30km from Kitale. You will need a 4*4 vehicles for easy access during the rainy season. Otherwise during the dry season it ok with most cars.What to see; the park has rich wildlife; Elephants , Zebras and even waterbucks welcome you at the gate.Ask for Guide William at the Gate he is an amazing Human.You can do a complete climb up in 3-4 days to Koitobos peak(4221mor even cross over to uganda to access the highest peak 4321m Wagagai Peak and exit through Mbale in Uganda. This may take about 6-7 days. Remember a handover from Kenya guides to ugandan guides and porters is required. It is located in eastern uganda,Also covers up to same parts of Kenya,And it is in mount Elgin,In uganda it cuts along three districts thats kapchorwa, kween and bukwo,Photos if I get time I will add cause I need to get some transport

No words can describe this. From the farming communities at appx 1600mtr above sea level. The atmosphere feels like everything was created yesterday. A hike up the mountain to appx4321 mtrs (aslwill drive your spirits into a meditation mood, at the wonder of nature. The weather changes minute from rain to sunny, to chilly.

There is need for the Kenyan government to emblace sustainable conservation since the part of the water catchment under KWS is well Co served while the part under KFS is purely under maize plantations its till we realize that this forest is the source of our life animals will have no place to call home consult The Eye Of Africa for tree planting

Beautiful place to visit. Make sure you get there early in the morning to visit all places.

The Mount Elgon area holds lush foliage, waterfalls, rivers, and lots of great coffee. The trail system could be better, but with a guide its no problem. I hope the ecosystem is maintained because of so this area will be a gorgeous weekend vacation spot.

The place is so exciting and needs focus and energy while climbing the slopes of Mountain Elgon, the temperature is low in the morning and evening ,there is lots to catch like water falls, steep slopes ,Great caves, huge standing rocks as if they are to fall the next minute and many more
