1012 Sir Samuel Griffith Dr, Mount Coot-Tha QLD 4066, Australia, Brisbane
Scenic mountaintop viewpoint with expansive city views, plus a cafe & restaurant.
If you want to sight see in Brisbane then you need to go to Mount Coot-Tha. The views there are nothing short of spectacular!!! So close to the CBD as well. Next time I will go to the botanical gardens as well but had to kill some time & just randomly ended up there but so glad I did!!!
A super nice place to share with family, friends or with your partner, beautiful view of the city of Brisbane.
What a beautiful view back to Brisbane CBD and the snaking Brisbane River.A lot of history around here and definately a great place to visit.Stayed for lunch which was delicious home styled cooking.
Originally went there to see the sunset; But actually the outlook was facing to East; could see nothing. Went there at night also could not see much star as there was too much light pollution from the city. Anyway, to view the city was quite nice...
Amazing place and view. Brought my young family of eight year olds here and taught them about some of the history of the buildings that you can see. It wasnt too busy as I took them in a Wednesday morning.
One of my favourite place in Brisbane ❤️ Theres 3 ways getting up there, by car, bus, or if you like to hike, 60 trails awaits you from easy to most challenging hike up to the Summit. So far I’ve done about 6 of the trails & love them all. The best part is the reward up on the summit, a cafe where you can enjoy a cuppa & delicious food with a breathtaking view😍 There’s ample parking available , toilets & souvenir shop too.
Awesome trails, having free internal transport or buggy for some people lost would be awesome. Maybe a free local bus or buggy can be started all day for public transport travellers. If you have your own car for this spot then absolutely no issues, lots of parking options and trail options are there. Quite safe.
Awesome spot, with absolutely stunning views! My partner and I did the hike up there, and it was so worth it!It was a little unexpected in regards to the view, because normally when I do a hike, I expect the view of the top of a mountain, but here we got a view of the city!Still super cool spot to look at, definitely couldve driven up, bit I think the hike made it all worth it!
The views are spectacular of Brisbane and surrounding areas. A lot of photo opportunities everywhere. Had morning tea in cafe. Mine looked better than it tasted. Coffee was lukewarm when my husband had asked for extra hot
The sweeping vista of Brisbanes cityscape offered up by the Mt Coot-tha Summit never fails to impress - whatever the weather! For a truly memorable adventure, and a guaranteed heartstarter, ascend the mountain via the Summit Track, take in the breathtaking views, then enjoy breakfast at the Summit Cafe before descending via the Spotted Gum trail. The round trip is around 5km. If you have energy to spare at the bottom, enjoy another hour (or twotouring the Botanic Gardens. Dont miss the tranquil Japanese Garden and be sure to check out whats on at the Richard Randall Art Studio. Grab a coffee (and maybe lunchat the Botanic Gardens Cafe to finish an awesome day out. Its one thats sure to get your step count up and your feet back in nature.
Mt Coot-tha one of the beautifulHighest Lookout Point of Brisbane, which is 5 km from CBD Brisbane. The Mt Coot-tha Lookout Point withElgent Panoramic views over muchOf Brisbane. Magnificent view on the whole city, must see when in the area, especially during clear skies! Great cafe to have a drink and grab something to eat!
Very nice walk, with a great view at the top. We walked from the bottom of JC falls car park and it took about half an hour to the top. The walk is well paved with only a few steeper parts. Would recommend.
We had lunch at the Summit Cafe, very nice food there and when you had your lunch or before the food comes out check out the great views of Brisbane at the same time it is really beautiful. It is worth having a lunch or dinner at the Summit Cafe at Mt Coot-tha. Thank you.
Great place to see the Brisbane skyline. There are many trails you can walk or run. Many places you can actually walk to the road and walk along it to get back to "civilisations".I took the bus from CBD and it was only about 30 min.
Really beautiful view point to visit brisbane city. Love this place. Can reach by your own vehicle free of charge also there are 2kms hiking to reach this summit.
The best location to view the entirety of Brisbane City, as well as the seaport and other mountain ranges. Its a fantastic location to visit, sit back, and take in the scenery. Fantastic views are available from the summit, which is close to the parking lot. Even though there is plenty of room at the top, it can get crowded around sunset or during busy times. At the top, there is a cafe or restaurant and restrooms, but parking space is limited. Several routes lead down from the summit, and the main entrance has a map of these paths. The telescopes need a bit of restoration.
Great Angle from to see the Beautiful Brisbane... there is a coffee shop as well but bring your drink (Tea, coffeeand snack and a good camera to take photos...
Great viewpoint from Brisbane’s highest point (Mount Coot-Tha). Spectacular views of the city skyline with great sunsets and sunrise views. There are plenty of walking and cycling tracks for fitness enthusiasts. There is a café & souvenir shop as well at the top. Definitely worth a visit if you are around Brisbane city.
942 Feet above sea level.. Almost a mountain in classic terms this is a must do for all who live in the vicinity...and for those visiting Brisbane to have a birds eye view of the city and surrounds. Arrive by car, bus...or take any of the healthy options on foot or cycle. Enjoy refreshment at the top & breath the fresh air. Return via the excellent botanic gardens at the foot of the mountain. (& watch your speed on decent....others are keen on catching you).
One of my favorite spots in Brisbane! Always worth a visit. Not changed much in 8 years, but the sign helping identify the landmarks could do with replacing as its very faded and hard to see.
Best place to see the entire Brisbane City along with the opening to the sea and other mountain ranges. Its an awesome place to come to, sit & relax, and enjoy the scenery. Sunrise is the moment, you would definitely dont want to miss. This place is very popular among photographers as u can see different shades of the city from day to night. Definitely recommend this place to visit.
Refreshing relaxing calming place to chill with good distant aerial view of Brisbane city. Ample free parking and not many people. Really cool and relaxing to drive through the scenic Mt Cootha Scenic Drive Road too.
Amazing city views. I Keep on going back just to appreciate the views from up there. It can get very busy on weekends . Love it early in the morning just before getting into work its so peaceful. Nice place to take overseas visitors for a nice pic.
Heey folks.. recently Ive been in Mt Coot-tha Lookout and if you love sightseeing, I strongly recommend to go there to enjoy an amazing view. In Brisbane, I guess this is a place where its possible to enjoy a view of the city far away.In the mountain youll find a souvenir store, a restaurant and the bus stop is in front of the entrance. Otherwise, you can get there on foot, for me its the best way to know the places: walking and trekking. Its near to the Botanic Garden and Planetarium as well, then if you have enough time, go and visit, its perfect for a picnic with friends.Putting in your bucket list :)
Amazing lookout especially for magnificent and stunning sunrise and sunset with bird-eye view of Brisbane. Many free car park just in front of the lookout and surrounding areas. No problem for car parking.Having wheelchair access, benches to sit and rest, also big cafeteria if you want a coffee or breakfast with the view. You can take a bus up here, or just 15 mins drive from the city.Highly recommended, definitely a must while you are in Brisbane!
Fabulous views from the summit, which is only a short walk from the car park. Theres plenty of space at the top although it can become busy at sunset or peak times. A cafe / restaurant and toilet facilities are available at the top, and parking can be quite limited. Several walks down from the summit with a map of these routes at the main entrance. Stunning city views and a pleasant area to visit.
Expansive 180 degree views of the city from the look out point. Its a great place to visit on a clear day. One can see as far as the Stradbroke Island from the view point. Nice cafe at the top as well. Worth a visit.
This is a magnificent place to view the city from a distance to get a perspective on the place !The cafe is a very popular place for overseas visitors for a breakfast lunch or afternoon tea
Summit Cafe were busy but turned tables fast without being pushy. The food was reasonably priced and made fresh. Plenty of parking and great views.
Very nice views all year round of Brisbane and the city. The hike up is easy as it isn’t a very tall mountain at 287m. There are multiple trails that links up with the summit trail to get to the lookout. Great place for photos of landscape and portrait photos.
- Location: not so far from Brisbane city. Take only around 30-40 mns by bus.- What to see: 180 degree city view. The view is breathtaking- Other facilities: cafe, sovernir store, restroom- Attraction nearby: Mount Coot-tha botanic garden
Never let go past Mt Coot-Tha the view of the city skyline is stunning. Seeing it in a sunset/sunrise setting will make you feel the WOW factor. It has a cafe and restaurant too.We went on a weekday as the parking tends to be very busy. If you havent done so its a must place to see. To top it all its free!
Best spot to view the whole of Brisbane. Day or night you get amazing views. Wet days not so good but still beautiful.
Absolutely breathtaking! Not only can you see the entire Brisbane skyline, but its probably the best the place to catch the sunrise (albeit I couldnt wake up early enough to do so 😞 ). There is also a cite little Cafe in case you feel like a snack.
Damn this is a awesome spot for amazing scenic views of Brisbane and area! Not to mention the many different trails to choose from to get up there. On a clear day which is usually every day in June it’s fantastic. And the cafe adds to the experience. 😎👍
Very beautiful view of Brisbane from the mountain. Ideal for those clear days in order to see far. There is a curio shop and cafe at the top. There are some trails up and down the sides of the mountain. Nice view on the drive up and down the look out. Highly recommended
Best view of Brisbane. Big lookout, plenty of room to view or take pics even when its busy.
Great view. Ample parking space. Few trails to follow. Theres a restaurant on top of Mt Coot-tha. Even the restaurant is full. Since its a holiday on 2nd May, theres many people there but still, we have plenty of space to take beautiful photos.
Amazing facility close to the city.Well kept public areas, super clean and friendly professional staff at the coffee shop.Good quality coffee and extensive menu.
Pretty spectacular. Lots of parking and east to access. Views are so pretty. I think this would be great at sunrise and when it is dark.
Took a bus from Brisbane CBD to Mount Coot-Tha. Loved the views of Brisbane. There is a cafe here but we didnt try it. To get here we took the 471 bus from Adelaide Street Stop 41 to get here cost about $7pp. Make sure you stay on the bus up to the summit. We hopped off a stop early so just checked out the Botanic Garden rainforest whilst we waited for another bus. This worked out for the best as the rainforest was beautiful. Otherwise its a 2km walk from the lower area.Buses seem to come hourly on weekdays. Ubers were around $21-31 so a bit more expensive than the bus.We only stayed a small time at the summit as it is just the one look out so ideally spend more time at the gardens as there is much more to see there.
A beautiful walk via a well maintained summit track providing medium effort to the top and back from the picnic grounds at the bottom. The only downside is sharing with vehicles when you do reach the top.
Fantastic views of the city and Brisbane River shops for souvenirs and some food. Toilets were disgusting and the only thing letting this place down.
Spectacular view. We arrived at noon by bus, wasted almost an hour waiting for the bus. Tried to get an icecream from the cafe and gave up after seeing the meters long queue(no social distancing). The shuttle bus ceased operation end of 2021. So had to pay for the bus just for one stop.
This is a must visit lookout for anyone living in Brisbane or visitor to the city. I never get sick of coming up here from my first visit 40 years ago. Suggest coming up just before the full moon with a picnic and watch the moon rise over the city. Great spot for a bit of photography or making out if your a bit younger.
Best place to go for a sunrise. Bring your cameras as there are a few great vantage points for photos of the city skyline. Theres a nice Cafe thats open from 6:30am. Can get very busy, especially on weekends and school holidays.
Beautiful, picturesque lookout Point. Amazing, scenic view. Theres also a little Cafe to enjoy coffee and the scenery together.
Nice look out not too far from the city. Get spectacular views of the city east to west. Day we visited had a bit of overcast followed by light rain. Had a different view of the city every 30 minutes.. can have a coffee at Cafe next to look out
A spectacular view!I would imagine that many proposals would of taken place at this fantastic scenic spot. It is a MUST SEE attraction if you live in, or are visiting Brisbane.I have been up here numerous times and they have a cafe where you can order a coffee and cake and absorb nature at its finest or even bring a picnic blanket and a loved one and enjoy the sunset.Great for motorbike riders such as myself as the ride up and down is fantastic and rather scenic but challenging at the same time. They also have hiking trails for fitness enthusiasts.Highly recommended!
