Mount Charlotte Reservoir and Lookout in Kalgoorlie

As an admirer of civil engineer CY O’Connor it’s definitely worth seeing where that massively long pipeline ends up - here at the reservoir.

Find out a little about the story behind that grey pipe you have just spent 6 hours driving alongside from Perth!! Dont expect to see an open reservoir. The views are probably better from the Goldfields Museum.

When you move to Kalgoorlie there is always something new to learn, to see, amazing people to meet..... the history here is so rich and it is so beautiful to be able to live and raise your young children in a place like this...... it was a place built by hardwork and lots of sacrifice....... come see and experience it for yourself....

Mt Charlotte historically is very interesting regarding the CY OConnor pipeline and the development of Kalgoorlie..as without water it would have miserably struggled to find its fortune.This site has fantastic information signed posted along the paths but some of the paths are rough and there is little to indicate the flow to explore the area.Unfortunately as with a lot of WA, our history is not respected and preserved well by the state and local authorities which is a short sited travesty.

Not a bad view over Kalgoorlie Boulder and surroundings. Would be awsome at sunset but i didnt make it up there for that.

Good to see the end of pipline. Good view up there and interesting reading about the build of the pipeline. Tank holds 8million liters.

Great view across Kalgoorlie. At the right time of the day you will be able to see the Gold tower top of the Kalgoorlie town hall

Great place to look over Kalgoorlie.Have a storm rolling in?? It’s the place to be to watch Mother Nature strut her stuff as she approaches town.Shelter up top can get cosy and is a little exposed to the elements, so I would suggest retreating to the carpark (100m walk down hillbefore the storm hits.

Great venue for seeing the whole town of Kalgoorlie and read some of the history of the amazing achievements of the workers and engineers at the turn of the century.

Pretty cool spot to visit! You get a nice view of the town.. or is it city? I dont know 🤷🏾‍♀️ with a dash of history/education thrown in! Nice little platform for your selfie fix so not sure why I didnt give it 5 stars but I guess Im just not feeling that generous today. Worth a 1 off visit... 9/10 not sure if I would visit again 😊

Good Place to see the whole picture of Kalgoorlie Boulder...But unfortunately the water pump display was not working the time we visited rhe place.

Worth a short walk up to the lookout to see a fantastic view and read about the reservoir. On a lower level are wonderful information panels.

A must visit location for the Kalgoorlie tourist. Some good information panels and a nice walk with views. Close to town.

Was nice to see where the long water pipes that run from Mundaring ends. A bit dissapointed not to see an open reservoir. A good view from the lookout, but again dissapointed that it doesnt stay open till late. We had to go to the lookout during day time and it was very hot. We could have enjoyed it more if we could go there in an evening .

End of the water pipeline and place to get bearings. Interesting in its own way.

As far as lookouts go its pretty good. Nice view of the town. There used to be a fountain where the water came out from Perth but alas they have turned it off. Nothing extraordinary though but well worth the look if you are in town.

Interesting small lookout. Good views over gold fields and Kalgoorlie. Would recommend if you wish to stretch your legs after a long drive and learn a bit about the history of how water was piped all way out into the desert from Perth. Good access for wheelchairs and other disabilities too.

It could do with a nicer trail, more plants and a more sheltered view area as it is magnificent for storms and lightning but you get too wet. Apart front that the info plaques are well done and it is kept neat :)

Great view of kalgoorlie/boulder seen amazing sunsets while im up there great place to chill and relax at of a night time during the its okay but night is way better
