Mount 387 (Batong Amat) - Hiking area in Bongabon, Philippines
ok
It was fun to climb to this mountain not that hard but if you traverse going down its a difficult task and rappel down for hours to slippery ,muddy trail especially in rainy season. guides will advise to back trail if the participants are newbies and will have a difficult, and dangerous going down . The view is spectacular from the summit
Good trail. Not that hard but the place is beautiful. A must hike mountain!
Amazing mountain indeed. 🥰
Worth the struggle and endeavor
A hiked with my sister and cousins in our province Its Called Mt. 387( Batong Amat).Their first hiked and they enjoyed it so much! Especially at the top and when we heading down to traverse.
Great place to hike and to enjoy nature
First time hiking but was fun! Especially the traverse part. The falls is phenomenal.
2nd time hiking this mountain. The 1st time is way back 2018 and its still new to the public. A lot of improvement on the site but a lot of hard headed people leaving there trash on the trails. Please be considerate, we are just guest on that mountain. The food is great! Accommodating people and guides.Be careful on going down the mountain, very steep and you can slide down if you dont look at what youre stepping on. The falls is really pretty but can be dangerous. The water is cold and refreshing for our tired bodies. The travel time going there is 5-7 hours depending on the traffic and your driver. We had a hard time leaving because of the traffic. Enjoy and take a lot of pictures but dont take too much. 😁👌👌❤
Great place. Pretty tiring hike. Descent was harder than the climb. There is a waterfall at the end.
Loved the place specially the locals. The tree planting initiative for the hikers was really a good idea
Awesome experience ❤️🥴🥴 cant wait to go back there 🥰
A beautiful place to sleep between clouds... Very nice place for camping overnight... Luckily I made in when it was full moon... I found peace...
Minor hike and good for beginner. Descent is a little bit challenging but totally worth it!What I love to this place is there’s so many swings and picture taking spots. :)A must see Cholate Hills from the North. ❤️If you want a memorable hike and a good photographer, book at TakeFive Outdoors.
Recommended for beginner and perfect hiking destination in Nueva Ecija. We have a great time spending overnight camping here. The trail is easy and some part of the trail has trees and bamboos for shades. There are stories that they heard soldiers are marching near the campsite as many Japanese soldiers died in this place during the war. Some believed that Yamashita treasure buried somewhere in the mountain.
Amazing place, really good for beginners.
Lots of assault. It is a mountain. If youre doing a traverse bring gloves with you. Difficulty level goes up if its raining or trail ia muddy.
This is my first hike for 2021. Its called Mt. 387 because it covers 387 hectares of natural reserve. We did the traverse trail which is 4/9 in difficulty. Beautiful scenery overall. Took time at the summit to enjoy the view but we also took too much time going down from the summit to Aloha falls since is has a steep descent and we assisted the first time hikers. We also rode a small truck and travel to an exciting road to go back to the jump-off.
Spectacular
Great trail, view, and acoomodating peoples.
Was there last Feb 2019. Amazing summit view. Traverse more difficult than backtrail. Going down more risky due to steep slope. Upon reaching Aloha falls removes your tiredness.
The trail when you traverse for me is very dangerous. It was very steep. I thought its a beginners hike but on the way down I realized I underestimated it. I dont know if I can say I was disappointed because there were tall grasses blocking the view on the summit. But is there someone who can cut them anyway?
This place is a good place to go for an extra adventure, you can bring your friend here even if they dont have an experience of climb. You can also enjoy their tree planning as a tradition for every visitor.
I like this mountain view, when I was a child I thought there were chocolate hills since I didnt know where its were located. Everytime I was transversing the sierra madre going in and out of Baler, I made sure that I was going to see this part of mountain range in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija. The view was very beautiful and attrractive. Fresh air in this mountain is totally refreshing. Luckily, this place is still not crowded because it was difficult to reach, so if you want something breathtaking view as a mountain climber this place is perfect for you.
As a first timer, Hiking here is very good, there will be a briefing before the hike so that visitors will be familiar at the different trails and have told us that there were different difficulties per trail. The guides are friendly and coordinating and will assist visitors throughout the hike. The trail leads to the summit of Mount 387 with a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains around especially the Sierra Madre Mountain Ranges and gives a Chocolate Hills. You can stay and have a food break at the summit and the Lovers Tree. There will be a voluntary tree planting activity at the traverse. Going down will be a challenge, so having a good grip can be handy, gloves can also be useful. At the end, you will be greeted with the Aloha Falls which has a nice view. Finally, a truck ride to return to the Jump Off point which can be thrilling.
Challenging , Extreme and Fun
During our hike we were the only ones inthe mountain, the four of us and the guide so we hear nothing but birds and our own voices.. and we enjoy it like we own the whole hiking area...my favorite part is the descent to aloha falls its really exciting and will test your knees, just dont forget to bring yourself a pair of gloves since its so stiff you have to hold onto twigs or whatever nescessary..there are parts wherein ropes are available to hold on to so having a pair of gloves is a goodthing... plus bring lots of water..
Dayhike here is really good. View from the summit is 👍👍👍. Then the summit pictorial😂
We didnt expect that well have sea of clouds in the morning. 💯
Scenic view from the top.
Love it! Great for beginners!
AMAZED BY THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF THE PLACE. THE ASSAULT GOING UP MIGHT BE VERY DIFFICULT AND TOO TIRING BUT IT IS WORTH IT REACHING THE SUMMIT. EXPECT THE SCENIC "CHOCOLATE HILLS OF THE NORTH", FRESHEST AND COOLEST AIR AND PICTURESQUE NATURAL LANDSCAPES. PERFECT FOR FIRST TIME HIKERS. TOUR GUIDES ARE VERY POLITE (LOOK FOR KUYA RICHARD - GRABE, ANG GALING MAKISAMA AT HINDI NANG-IIWAN, THE BEST TOUR GUIDE OF MOUNT 387). SAME WITH THE LOCALS, SOBRANG BAIT NILA, FROM THE COOKS OF THE CANTEEN AND THE ONES IN CHARGE OF THE COMFORT/SHOWER ROOM AND EVEN THE KIDS WHO ARE OFFERING REFRESHMENTS ALONG THE TRAIL.AS TOLD BY OUR GUIDES, GOING UP DIFFICULTY LEVEL IS 3/9 WHILE THE TRAVERSE TRAIL IS 4/9. STILL WORTH IT BECAUSE YOU CAN REFRESH YOURSELF DIVING IN THE CLEAN WATERS OF ALOHA FALLS BEFORE HEADING BACK TO THE JUMP OFF SITE VIA MINI-TRUCK. YOU CAN ASK FOR PALUTO AND UNLI RICE IN THE CANTEEN AFTERWARDS.GOING DOWN VIA TRAVERSE TRAIL MIGHT BE NOT THAT EASY AS YOU THINK IT WAS. ROCKY AND VERY STEEP SO BE EXTRA CAREFUL. WEAR APPROPRIATE GEAR AND 2L OF WATER, STAY HYDRATED TO AVOID MUSCLE CRAMPS.
This is a beginner friendly hike, better to start early or be prepared for a scorching heat along the grasslands near the summit.
Mt. 387 (also known as Mt. Bagong Amatis located in Barangay Puncan, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija. Many are curious why it was called as such. Well, the mountain got its name, from its size, 387.9 hectares of the Talavera Watershed Forest Reserve.
We went there in November 2017. The weather was great! The view from the top was amazing. You can see several kilometers away. Took us a few hours down to Aloha Falls because we were with beginner climbers. The descent was more difficult than the ascent, but the overall experience was amazing. Not for the non-physically fit though. The ride from the river back to the jump-off point was also very exciting! :My kids enjoyed every minute of it. Kudos to the staff for taking care of the environment.
Aside from scenic views from the mountain top, people of Brgy. Puncan who unite to rehabilitate this mountain were beautiful, if everyone know how to be responsible like them every forest, mountain, sea in the Philippines will be world class.
Mas nahirapan kami sa pababa ng bundok dahil umulan. Sobrang dulas. You need to have proper gear for this hike. May madadaanang spring so you can take a dip if you want. For people who loves climbing, this mountain is worth it.
Such a beautiful place to hike.... With a cause
Scenery in the summit is so beautiful! Recommended for hikers with minimal experience.
Enjoyed the cold night. Perfect for overnight camping.
Nice experience for a beginners hike
This is the only mountain (from several that we have climbedwhere in the LGU require you (or your groupto plant a seedling as your contribution to preserve the forest. Thumbs up to this great project! #keepclimbing! 🤗
Good for beginners. As for most of the mountains, it is better to start the trek early morning because of the heat of the sun. We weren’t really fascinated by the view above for there was no clearing, it was full of fog. Anyway, I just tried to enjoy whatever was up there, especially the cold fresh air.
Good for begginers! Love the view. The Chocolate Hills of the North indeed!
Youre so gonna love this place. The local guides are accomodating. Enjoyable!
If you want to break your leg while having fun with the nature come and visit this place where tour guides are friendly and accommodating. Enjoy the climb.
Great hike and awesome views fun adventure
Great for beginners. Bring sun protection when hiking. It is also a grassland so you need protection against grass cuts. Overall, nice views of the mountain range.
2/9 difficulty. Great for begginers. The view on the summit is nice, and the local guides story about the mountain makes it better. Be sure to chat with them. Also, dont pass up on the traverse. Its exhausting but def worth it.
So inet hehe no available water source ( not recommendable for newbies with no mountain climbing experience within Summer season bring extra drinking water
