Online bookings are available for this place but when we arrived it was closed, but it seemed like a lovely place, too bad we couldnt enjoy it.

Closest backpackers to town, 25 minute walk to supermarkets. Most affordable. Nice kitchen.Free wifi. Nice view of river, birds, hippos, sunset. Great nights sleep. Staff super helpful

I can not rate it, it should be minus 5. Dirty, rotten swimmingpool. Unsafe. Not a campingsite at all. No campingslots. No electricity points. It was the worst experience of my life.

Located right on the Thamalakane river bank (you can walk to the water in less than a minute).Had a bittersweet experience here.They have an amazingly gorgeous garden/picnic area with a swimming pool and a place to braai meat just overlooking the river. Tent accommodation all round with the reception being the exception.Self catering facility. Theyll provide pots and a stove for you to cook with.They have wifi, though signal is very weak away from the reception.I found the place with a lot of mosquitoes flies. The thing that put me off was the smell of shower water right by the tent. And inside the tent, there was a potent, stuffy smell of mosquito repellent. -not quite "the great outdoors/ camping experience" I know and like.The place is not far from the shops though. Only 5kms. And its located in a residential place, not the bush. The staff is reasonable and quite accommodating.I didnt spend the night though I had checked in. The smells and shower area had turned it off for me. They charged a 40% cancellation fee on the cost of one night and it wasnt too bad. Would recommend them for a picnic/garden/braai event.

Fantastic hostel with a very helpful family of staff always on hand to help.Kitchen to cook food, excellent facilities and in great views of the night sky.Hippos right outside in the lake and very comfortable beds!
