Description
Set in a house built in the Edo period, this tranquil hot spring inn in a forested area is 11 km from the picturesque Kenroku-en garden in Kanazawa Castle Park. It's 4 km from Morimoto train station.Airy, traditional rooms with dark wood furnishings offer tatami floors, chabudai dining tables, futons and minifridges; most have furnished verandas with forest views.Parking is free, as are breakfast and dinner served in a cozy restaurant. A gender-segregated communal bathhouse has indoor and open-air pools with natural hot spring water. There's also a museum with an eclectic collection of art and artifacts.

A remote traditional Japanese inn experience. We had dinner and breakfast there and it was very authentically Japanese. The staff was wonderful. The rooms are nice, but as others have noted, it’s all a bit dated. The hot spring pools were very nice. If you want a different type of experience and get out of the city, you can’t go wrong staying here.
