North Indian and tandoori dishes turned out in a basic, glass-fronted restaurant with simple tables.
As someone who loves Indian food and has had a lot of it in my years, the food from this place gets 2/5 stars because of the flavour and ingredients used, EXTREMELY AVERAGE.Now, I know some places offer take out and just pump out high volumes of food, which sometimes compromises on the flavour, this place doesn’t even seem that busy, and it was unsatisfying. Chicken Tikka Masala didn’t taste anything like what I was expecting and had large chunks of capsicum in it, which is untraditional. The Lamb korma was also not what we were expecting and tasted way different to what we expected. Bought three naan breads, all three were blackened and burnt, peshwari naan was underwhelming and did not contain the cashews and nuts I was expecting. For food in a hurry, I suppose this place does the trick, but if you are after authentic Indian food, this place has far to go.
I highly recommend Moti Mahal. with delightful dishes and amazing service, Moti Mahal is a great place to come for a meal. This restaurant definitely has the best Indian cuisine in Brisbane.
Best Indian food North Brisbane
One of the best Indian Restaurants Ive had in Brisbane.Authentic and tasty
The curry is to die for and the naan is the best I’ve had in Brisbane. Hope to be back soon.
Always fantastic value for money and delicious food. This has been our local "go-to" Indian for over ten years. The chicken tikka masala never fails to disappoint!
Loved it we got the banquet for two and there was so much food for $64 we took most of it home with us. Everything was really authentic and delicious. Will come back.
Terrible experience. We ordered takeaway mild and the curry was made exceptionally hot and the Naan was burnt, dry and tasteless. I spent over a hundred dollars for our dinner and all the owner could say was that he made 10kg of curry that day and that no one else had complained. Terrible customer service. There was no offer to remake the curry or an offer for a free curry next time. They told me I needed to go and get some yoghurt or put sugar in it to make it better. Literally couldnt eat it. The kids wouldnt eat it either. It gave me a stomach ache. So the owner told me to bring it back and did eventually offer a refund. I had to scrape the food out of the bowls back in to the containers and bring it back. (not sure what they will do with it Massive inconvenience. Beans on toast was not what we had in mind for dinner tonight but its what we ended up doing. I dont recommend supporting any restaurant that doesnt value customers or feedback. Couldve been handled in a much better way. We wont be going back and neither will any of our family as result. Glad I got a refund.
Great takeaway. My favourite in Stafford.
Very nice Indian food. Very good taste and good portions.Easy for take away or for dine in.Very friendly costumer service.Plenty parking outside .Definitely recommend. Thanks
Got the $15 lunch deal for Smoko today. Was a great meal. Good portion. The lamb Vindaloo was delicious and piping hot. The garlic Naan was good.
Amazing food. Always polite and friendly, I love being able to watch them cook.
We had 2 different curries which were nice, however the papadums were quite stale, soft not crispy and the naan bread was extremely tough and chewy - we couldnt eat them.
Came for dinner and it did not disappoint. Good prices and serving size. Had mixed entree, butter chicken, lamb Rogan Josh, chicken tikka Marsala and beef vindaloo. Naan and pappadums for sides. Rice came with meals. All meals were delicious and we didn’t wait long. Highly recommended.
Balanced flavours. Just returned from India and wanted to keep the taste a bit longer. Ordered dal makhani and butter chicken. One of the best in QLD
Ordered 3 different curries and some naan for a family lunch. They were ready in a very reasonable time, piping hot and all were delicious. I don’t live in the area but will definitely be suggesting we get food from here next family get together.
The coconut rice and Beef Madras at this establishment are first rate. Could not recommended highly enough.
The jewel of Everton Park 💎This is one of the most consistently high quality Indian Restaurants in Brisbane.
Always really tasty food, with fast and friendly service regardless of dine in or takeaway. Highly recommend!
Curry is always good and staff are friendly. I’ve only had takeaway, but never had a problem
Amazing Staff they love to work all the time and great service overall the chef dudes are cool to but speak Indian so have no idea what they are saying lol.
Curry - 5 starsSaffron Rice - 5 starsPapadams- 5 starsNaan - 5Overall: 5 starsBest Indian I have had in a long time. Good portion of meat in the curry. Recommend ordering from this place if you havent already.
Ordered the mixed platter, lamb rogan josh and peshwari naan. Not sure how this place gets 4.4 stars. Nothing I ordered was satisfactory.Every item from the mixed platter was incredibly dry. It was as if they had been cooked hours earlier and left under a heat lamp. One of the items was so dry, I couldnt even cut it with a knife. The sauce for the rogan josh was very nice but the lamb was dry. Probably been cooked too long. Also, it came with rice which I did not order. I would rather have paid less money and not had the rice. Portion was very small too.The peshwari naan did not have any coconut inside. Ive never had a peshwari naan without coconut, instead filled with what looked like a cheap bag of mixed dry fruit (who puts glacé cherries in a naan ffs)All in, just under $50 (without service and deliverywhich, even if it was acceptable, far too expensive. Probably the worst Indian Ive ever eaten
Menulog is half to blame, but after waiting 90 minutes I decided to ring the restaurant direct and ask the status of my order. The response was that the food has was made some time ago, and eventually admitted it would all be cold. Where was the communication? And then I had to go through the debacle of getting a refund from Menulog.
Always excellent food here. Good size portions and complimentary unlimited rice with curries for dine in. Service is usually good.
Delicious food. So good that we drive from Sandgate for it. The chicken tikka masala and the Kashmiri kofta are favourites. Friendly service and the portion sizes are large. The curries are spicy, even if you ask for mild it still has some spice so beware of this if you dont like spicy curries.
I always like to do the positives first, the portion sizes are good for the prices and service was friendly one pick up (we did take away)Okay the things that need improvement our garlic cheese naan you wouldn’t even know was garlic, and burnt which was upsetting as I love naan. The butter chicken was also EXTREMELY salty and very tomato’y and I’m not ready for the reflux I’m about to experience because it it. The saffron rice was also quiet dry :(
An under-rated store, has little to no atmosphere and doesnt feel welcoming at all. But go inside say hello, someone will greet you immediately. Sit down, stay and try this places great curry. Most curries are $20 each approx and come with rice. Two people can expect to spend $40+ depending on how much you can eat. Take away is cheaper apparently and dine in costs more (heard from a staff member). The food is great here though, give it a chance if you fancy some Indian. Its got soul.
Great food, best Indian in the area. Had them cater for my fathers birthday and had great response from the crowd...a number of guests have since got them to cater for their parties too.
Wish I could give more stars as it used to be our favourite local Indian before the food quality went downhill a few years ago. We decided to try it again but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience.Butter chicken tasted like chicken in acidic tomato sauce with no resemblance of “butter”. Garlic naan was burnt and so small in size compared to what we are used to. Also the “large” take-away containers were equivalent to “small” from other Indian restaurants in the area.
Thought we would support a local business and PICKED UP takeaway from here. Food was very tasty BUT the size of the containers for the price per main is not just a rip off it is fraud. The normal size rectangle containers but the small size, even the small sauce container was taller.
Good food but poor service. They forgot to clean the table, forgot to serve our desserts and started to eat their dinner. When we couldnt finish our food they charged us $2 extra for two plastic containers. I have never seen extra charge for leftovers. We had more left over but I guess they couldnt fit in the container and they brought it less food back. Spent $128+$2. Not going again because to me that $2 was very cheap behaviour after spending $128.
Best Indian curries Ive has in Brisbane. Papadums are very flavorful, usually theyre just a vessel for sauce, but theirs are good just by themselves.Cant go wrong with their lunch specials and the regular plates/meals are reasonable and have plenty of food. The only thing that could be better was the naan, its a bit chewy and I think made with whole meal flour, which should be a good thing but somehow misses the mark. Its still good, but maybe everything else is just so great that it pales by comparison. Definitely not a detractor and weve been back a few times. If I could, Id give it 4.5 stars but Im not worried about giving it 5. Overall a good food experience and worth a try for sure.
Good customer service for a takeaway. However the two meals ordered were very bland and not appetising.Couldnt finish either of them. For the price had high expectations.
Good things:TasteCleanlinessCustomer service.Things they should improve:If you name dish "Mango chicken" mak3 sure it taste like mango chicken. One i got was just normal chicken curry. When i asked girl she went to check with chef and chef just told her yeah thats our mango chicken. Well I reckon chef needs to try his own dish then. After we finish we wanted to take away left over and they put two different curries in same container and made small partition of rice in between. Which i wasnt impress with. The photo is mango chicken, many people will be able to tell by pic that its not mango chicken.
I wanted to give it three stars because I dont want anyone to think that its something other than what it is, which is a decent little local Indian takeaway. But see, if I give it 3 stars, how can you understand that its better value than grilld up the way? (Because it is.So those 4 stars are only intended to be relative to the alternatives within 600 metres. In fact, as I write this, the grilld has 4.2. I just cant bear to give the local Indian 5 out of 5 possible stars. What would that mean? What would be the point of the whole star rating system? Who are these people who are giving grilld 5 stars? Are they being served different burgers to me?Try the lamb rogan josh, plain dal, and a garlic naan. Its not bad. And with the places that have opened up in the centre across the street, its starting to seem less unhealthy.
Very delicious food and a friendly staff too. Traditional Indian taste too
Excellent curries with lots of meat at reasonable prices. Good naan. Beef Saag and Lamb Roganjosh are our regulars but havent had a bad dish. Not greasy like some Indian. Wish I lived closer.
Great flavour with real whole spices used. Many options, including vegetarian.Super fast service. As an Indian takeaway connoisseur Ive tried a lot of different places, but I keep going back to Moti Mahal. Love it!
Some of the best curries in Brisbane. We tragically order the same thing every time...vege samosas, butter chicken, Ceylon fish and butter naan. Absolutely delicious.
Easily the best curries in Brisbane. I regularly drive 20 min across town for the Chicken Lahori and the Beef Bhuna. Traditional, thick curries, not sweetened like some places. The staff are friendly and always helpful. The lunch special is excellent value.
The best Indian on the Northside of Brisbane. We have been ordering from here close to a decade, and only ONCE have we had a single curry that was "Average" the rest were "Outstanding". The Ceylon Lamb is a must have.
The food tastes damn good. I have been back after sampling multiple curry places around Brisbane and this one is now my go to, i also notice to have more physical energy the day after having dinner there. Dollars well spent!
The place looks pretty uninviting. Always dark wirh no music or atmosphere. But Im happy to overlook that because the food is always amazing! Lots of great vegetarian options, definitely give the vegetarian platter a go. A new favourite!
Really good curry! The vindaloo was hot and spicy while full of flavour - perfect. A bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny!
One of the Best Indian Restaurant and my favourite around Brisbane. I have tried many indian restaurants in Brisbane but this is the best for service and food quality. I go there with Family and Friends every week or second and everyone with us also enjoy and go back again.
This is by far the best indian food I have tasted in Brisbane. I cant go anywhere else. I highly recommend it. My favourites are the fish masala or chicken lahori.
Its hard to find nice vegetarian-friendly takeaway (thats not all capsicum and eggplant!), but Moti Mahal has a great range of really delicious vegetarian dishes. My favourite is the vegetarian kofta. We went here recently with my father and his wife, who is from Bangladesh, and she said the food was really authentic and delicious, so I trust her judgement that theyre doing a good job here!
Yep as per the other reviews, food quality is very high - one of the best Indians weve found in Brisbane. Decor, atmosphere and Staff attitude could be improved a little but at least the most important part (the foodis already great :D
The best indian I have had in Brisbane so far!You can taste the quality ingredients and there was a great amount of meat in the curries. Will be a regular at Moti Mahal, Everton Park.
