Moshi Medellín - Asian fusion restaurant in Medellin, Colombia
Moshi Medellín in Medellin
Description
Privilege
More5 stars for everything:- staff was super nice and professional- food was incredibly good and well presented- the restaurant is very beautiful- price was more than fair for quality and quantityHighly recommended for a Japanese dinner
MoreHoy hemos probado Moshi.
MoreThe sushi was OK - 3 stars. I also dont recommend the cocktails - we got an impotent gin basil that had no flavor. That said, the hot dishes were phenomenal and the staff were amazing and friendly. The crab fried rice and the donabe were an experience - well worth it.
MoreRight after we were sat at our table we were curious how to get seated all the way inside, because it looked much prettier. That’s apparently another restaurant, or different part of it, called X.O. The food at Moshi was great, especially the fish tacos with bacon on top and the baos. I was not a big fan of the sushi rolls we had, which I think I was called Coco Loko. But the baos alone would make it worth returning.
Excellent presentation. Creative dishes. Amazing service. Delicious food with interesting and high-quality ingredients. Ive done both the Moshi tasting menu and the Sushi bar tasting menu. Those experiences make it one of my favorite restaurants in Medellín hands down, espeically at Sushi bar where you get to see the whole process. I love going to Moshi!
MoreThe service was great, cocktails were good, but the food was horrible… who is rating this place 5 stars?? This is honestly some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had- the rice was hard and packed way too tightly; the rainbow roll was inedible because the fish tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a week. The only decent tasting item was the complimentary mini empanada that came at the beginning of the meal…maybe because it lacked fish….
MoreSo I will start with the fact that I am extremely hesitant about sushi in land locked cities that are not close to an ocean. With that in mind, I started with the bao de Rubio and the tonkatsu Gohan. Both dishes were recommended by the server and were fantastic. The bao de Rubio was delicious. It was fried fish on a bao bun which reminded me of a fish taco but with a fluffier shell. Great flavor profile with lots of citrus. The tonkatsu Gohan was a cut pork cutlet on top of rice with some amazing sauces. After those, I decided that I would take a small risk and try the tuna hand roll and was not disappointed. The fish was fresh and did not have a fishy smell or taste which is what I was concerned about. I even mentioned my concerns to the server when ordering and she was super nice about it and even brought out the chef to explain where the fish came from, how fresh it was, and the processes used in the kitchen to maintain its top shelf quality. Overall 5/5 stars for flavor, quantity, quality, and service. Price was a little more expensive for the area but it is in line with what I would expect from a trendy restaurant with a beautiful location and quality food. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for good quality Asian fusion in the El poblado area.
MoreGreat attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of the food. The pork buns were very tasty!
MoreExcellent flavors and eclectic location. The service was likewise superb. I highly recommend the Tonkatsu. Go here for drinks, they have excellent bartenders as well.
MoreMuy buen servicio.
MoreWhat an amazing place, visually and the service is outstanding. The staff and food presentation are top notch but unfortunately just doesnt cut it when it comes to the food itself, the flavors are all over the place and do not have cohesiveness, like you just taste one ingredient instead of a dish!!! Which is very disappointing since visually the dish looks amazing! We order the rainbow and El spicy, never have I ever try this type of rice and the flavor was off and was very dry, both tasted almost the same. Which usually a rainbow is very flavorful and rich. After they brought us the spicy tuna.... well it was not spicy and I couldnt even tell what was in it, it tasted like a really acid orange with a orange acidic foam on top. It look beautiful but it taste it just like lime or a really acid orange. Couldnt taste the tuna which is a shame since it is supposed to be the main star of the dish and the flavors should help enhance the flavor, but tasted acidic, also the foam gave it a weird feeling to it, making it too overpowering flavor wise!Next we got the main course Kao Pat Puu which is a kind of Thai fried rice, it has a really good texture but it just taste like ginger, was not bad but was not excellent at best was average! Not worth the price for sure! The cocktails were also Ok nothing crazyPlace is way over price for the food, definitely better restaurants for the price you pay!Hopefully they take the food to next level because the restaurant is very elegant and service is great!
MoreExcellent experience! The place is cozy and the staffs are way cool. The food is extraordinary and unique as they combine ingredients from a bunch of different places, mostly local ones
Morewent there during lunch because of the good reviews. There was only us and the whole place was very dim. Service was good, but I find the price, too high for the quality/taste of the food. I have been to many asian and fusion restaurants and I have to say the food here was quite a disappointment. the rice used for the sushi was not normal sushi rice , maybe it was intentional, but the seaweed used was definitely dry and overall it felt like a korean bibimbap rather than a sushi. The ramen was lacking flavor and ingredients. Cocktail was good. Also ordered a fish, which came with sticky rice cake, and that was good.
MoreThe food and drinks at Moshi were absolutely amazing from a taste and presentation perspective. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
MoreThe food is OK but I dont recommend it
What a wonderful and decadent spot.We thoroughly enjoyed the ramen. Lobster rolls were quite unusual and the tuna "tacos" were very tasty. The bathroom is a lot of fun, too)))
MoreReally nice restaurant with great ambiance. I liked the staff as well — very warm and friendly. It apparently gets busy so you need a reservation? But the entire dinner time I was there the place wasn’t even half full so I’m quite disappointed they didn’t give us a table but had to sit in the bar.Food was frankly underwhelming. It’s not terrible but just expected more from this kind if restaurant with apparently a good reputation. I didn’t get the tasting menu just fyi. But I ordered the recommendations of the staff. Misoyaki, some pulpo and the spicy crab starter. The only thing I was interested in among the three was the starter.Must say, though, the pineapple express I ordered was pretty damn good!I’d go again but it would not be my first choice.
MoreIf anyone has had good sushi, then this place is below par, especially for the price. we ordered the rainbow roll. If you have ever had a rainbow roll in the U.S., you wont even recognize what comes to the table. I asked about a dish and got a response only to find out later that they were out of it. Pretty good service, but food was a let down
MoreExcellent food, great atmosphere
Amazing menu, great cocktails and nice laid back ambiance! One of my favorite spots to dine un Medellín. A must visit
MoreMoshi is the super best love I ever had I thank my future husband taking me here try the lobster sushi and dessert super yum note margarita here will make you fly. Happy will eat here again . Nice customer service
MoreEverything was going perfect until we received the check. At the beginning of the night we were offered sparkling water or normal one. We ordered the normal one, when we received it we noticed that it was from the tap which was perfect for us. At the middle of the night without asking us, we were served a second bottle of water from the tap, as they are usually free we just guessed it was the case, so we didnt say anything. But when we received the check we noticed that we were charged twice for the water. We couldnt believe it. We ordered the Omakase menu which is quite expensive but you were so stingy that you charged us for the tap water $10000 pesos). So disappointed. We didnt complain because it was not worth it to do it at the restaurant but it really left us a bad taste, especially because the food and the service was great. We cannot understand why you are so stingy and charged for a bottle of water coming from the tap. Even though the food is delicious, this little detail will keep me away from returning.
MoreThey offer Asian fusion food but there is no fusion at all. No really good fish choices just Columbian fish. I had a spicy tuna what wasn’t taste like tuna and it wasn’t spicy at all. It is actually no taste... when you are hungry don’t go there. They offer food in strange combination. I’ve just tried one appetizer just to get sure to order more but this was just disappointed. They have a good choice of wine but really expensive. That’s it. The waiter did his job very well and was courteous. Ambiente was also nice but all that is actually not so important like the food in a restaurant. Food shouldn’t have to look fusion or fancy it has to taste good! That’s the important thing in a restaurant!
MoreExceptional service and serene ambiance. We tried the shrimp Ebo-coco sushi (yumas an appetizer and the Patarasca (very filling dishfor the main coarse. Cost was surprisingly high for a Colombian restaurant, though still less than U.S., so it was fine overall. P.S. Check out the bathroom ☺️
MoreIncredible food. Great service. Drinks are innovative, delicious, and strong! Gotta go with the Banh Mi Bites and the Foie Gras! They are both out of this world good.
MoreExcelente food, dessert best, service top, 💯 recommended
Probably the best asian fusion restaurant in Medellín, with a decent wine list (by Colombia standards). Reservations are recommended. Moshi is brought to you by the owners of Carmen, which has been considered one of the best restaurants in the city since before I moved here in 2013.
MoreJust amazing
Great location, friendly and quick staff, superb food.
Insanely good Food! The whole menu is worth trying! Service is great and well informed. The kitchen is open and really clean. All the preparations are done in house chef Rob has it down and locked. Carmen deserves all praises coming her way! It really was a Fantastic experience! Thank You!
Morewe had omakase. it was great. every dish was a surprise in terms of flavor. omakase the local way (local products). loved it.
MoreIncredible experience, one of the best restaurants in Medellin.
Love this place...The bimbimbap dish is out of this world
Excellent food and service. We had a business lunch here and all of us raved about the food.
MoreWe had the 7-course tasting menu with wine and it was phenomenal. The portions were big and the timing of all the plates and the wine pairings were spot on. Our server explained every dish (in English!and where every wine was from. The best part is that every time on the tasting menu is actually a full menu item so you can return and order your favorite as a main fish! My favorite was the Asado de Tira (Malaysian grilled beef short rib with pumpkin, ginger rice and renewing sauce). The foie gras toast and hand rolls were a second favorite. Dessert was absolutely divine. Our experience was so fun we ended up spending 3 hours here!
MoreGood but not great. The restaurant is beautiful, lovely artwork, Japanese style bathrooms, friendly attentive staff but the food was slightly disappointing. I like the idea of fusing Asian and Caribbean food but the execution was lacking that special finish, maybe with time they will perfect this. 👍
MoreThis place blew me away away, I felt like in Lima.. simply top cosine, incredible flavors, contrast and excellent service. Must try the octopus taco plus pretty much every dish on the menu. You can tell they put in the work and skill to make this come together. Very happy to have Moshi Medellin... can’t wait to be back. Now its not cheap so be warned.. but I hope not disappointed.
MoreBest meal we had in Colombia. We went in for drinks while waiting for a table at Carmen. The cocktails, appetizers and service were so good we stayed for dinner and gave up our table at Carmen. Cocktails were inventive, balanced and beautiful. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. Highly recommended.
MoreThe restaurant was beautiful, the cócteles were fine, the spice tuna ok, but the other dishes were not up to the Carmen restaurant name. The baos were terrible, and the waiter Andrés was very arrogant and rude!
MoreThis is my new favorite spot in town . Perfect service , beautiful ambience , amazing flavors , stunning cocktails , even their Japanese style bathrooms will make make you smile . Just love this place . Will definitely come back . Try the Moshi Tonic, Pork Baos , Wontons , Octopus cebiche and bibimpab!!! $$$ pricy thou ;)
MoreWe have made a reservation but they did not mention it was bar location. We were a party of 4 and not very well located... food taste amazing!!!Table available after 5 min not it is much betterGreat atmosphere
MoreAbsolutely delicious Colombian inspired Asian food. Probably the best restaurant in Medellin right now in terms of food, ambiance and overall experience. It will limit the menu slightly but they looked after me for gluten free options which was greatly appreciated.
