Disappointed.... got turned away due to minimal chefs. Yet people were still getting served. Wont be going back

Food was ok got the order wrong

It has been many years since I have eaten at the Top Pub. Went with a large group for a birthday celebration. Service was friendly and prompt but unfortunately quite a few of the meals were sub standard and several were returned to the kitchen.I ate the half lobster and scotch fillet chefs special, to be honest it was far from special, the best part of it was the peppercorn sauce for the steak. My wife ate the rack of bbq pork ribs and quite enjoyed them.I wont rush back for another meal any time soon.

Alice in the bistro was a breath of fresh air. Nothing was too much trouble for her.

We went here last night for a bar meal, the meals took over an hour to come out, then came out cold. The bar tender could not understand the drink request, which was vodka and pineapple juice. Once the bar/pool table error closed at 9ish. We went to the pokies area as some of us wanted to play, where we were told off for swearing. Repeatedly question when one person went to the bar to buy a round of drinks. Terrible unfriendly service.

Great pokies if you’re not interested in winning. Although the friendly staff there told me I might have just been a tad unlucky on my first few visits. So fingers crossed for tonight, my lucky 118th visit according to my bank statements and over a period of 11 months. Let’s hope they’re right, I haven’t won there yet.

Great night in the Top Pub at Morwell, Victoria last night. We even won a 6 pack in the free raffle. Friday night they have a meat tray raffle, jag the joker and free raffle tickets with purchased drinks. Really nice friendly and helpful staff and a great atmosphere. Food was reasonable. My roast lamb dinner for $15 was really nice and Susies $10 fish, chips and salad was ok but a little under cooked. Was washed down very nicely with $7 pints of Victoria Bitter beer. Too bad they never had Bulmers cider on tap to put in the Bulmers pint glasses but the manager said Cider might come back for summer. Good sized and well laid out pub with public bar with 2 really nice pool tables for $2 games of pool and lots of TVs to watch the sports and TV shows. A big bistro and bar with lots of tables and of course their gaming area with the gambling machines and a separate TAB area for all the racing bets. Nice outside smoking area with TVs to watch and a huge car park with heaps of room, perched high up on the hill with beautiful views over Morewell. Such a nice pub and such good value that we plan to spend 3 nights here and make a weekend of it. This pub ticks a lot of our boxes and we will definitely be back.

Good size pub meal. They are having lobster week at the moment...bit of a surprise for a pub...but well done for doing something other that the usual. I didnt try any of the lobster dishes...might be my loose!

We stay here when we come to gippsland for family time. We have found this motel very nice and very helpful. Once last year we complained about a issue and it was dealt with very quick. Just recently we stayed and the service, staff and accommodation was excellent we recommended this motel always from Ian and wendy russell

This place was amazing I went to pay for my nephew to get a drink and the lady gave it to me for free the food was amazing it was cooked so fast Omg I’m 100% coming back thanks for a grate experience the staff are so nice and I would recommend this place

Review is from a few nights ago. i thought i would take tge time to relax and let the experience settle. i cant and it didnt. my 3rd visit to this venue in as many weeks, and any good experiences with food and accomodation are just completely overwhelmed by the actions and attitude of one staff member by the name of Jeff. he was involved in no less than 3 arguements, all close to erupting in violence and all instigated by the staff member upon patrons i hadnt noticed doing anything wrong, not even a little bit responsible. the guy is just looking for a reason to get into fights with guests. i wont be coming back.

The staff are lovely but the ordering app that they ask you to use does not let you know what the roast of the day, pasta of the week or parma of the week are AND I have not found that shown anywhere else!

Well-equipped rooms, comfortable bed/s. Restaurant food is excellent and decently priced as are the rooms.

Love the relaxing atmosphere and quality customer service.

Great venue. Good food and drink. Friendly staff. I also enjoy the trivia (Wed night 7.30and the pokies after.

Food was an average quality. We ordered medium rare steaks, they all came over cooked, some came as well done. Salad without dressing looked very poor on the plate. The peppercorn sauce was very overwhelming however the mushroom sauce was delicious and worked nicely with the dish. Thought if the steaks were taken off earlier and there was a nice simple dressing, the dish would be justified.

I chose from the menu before going there and found the item I chose was not on the menu in the bistro, I ordered a loaded spud - potato bacon mushrooms slaw sour cream and cheese, NO BACON, Few mini mushroom fragments, So mostly sour cream salady slaw and some cheese. The guy who sells spuds outside Chemist Warehouse does much better,

3 stars on a good day. But tonights burger was not even worthy of being on a bistro style menu. The online app menu for ordering is a process harder than it needs to be.

One staff there was rude and got my gravy spilt over the table not even apologising. But the only best thing was the food was beautiful.

Went for a meal, Waa seated and they ushered 2 women to sit basically on my knee!! Like COVID and social distancing doesnt exist!!! Deplorable disregard for laws, public health and safety of patrons. If you want a high chance of catching COVID and death this is the place to eat.

Expensive drinks, no atmosphere, staff were very glum and was the first parma I didnt finish. Im 99% sure the food was premade because it was way too quick and dry as a nuns nasty.

Booked a room on booking.com there night before for $89. Rooms were old but clean. No balcony. Ordered room service from bistro. 10 prawns for $10 on special. Ordered two of those.

Very welcoming. Clean, modern with nice touches like your own coffee machine in the room, complimentary bottle of water and chocolates. Breakfast bar has a good variety.

One of those "Come for the room, stay for the meal" situations. Rooms are pretty shabby. Not bad, but could certainly do with a reno in the near future.But the meal.Oh my god, the meal. To die for. Worth every cent. This kitchen staff should be proud -- theyre carrying the weight of the place on their shoulders.

Great Counrty Pub. Meals are 10 out of 10 & customer service outstanding throughout the whole venue. Cody & other male staff members in the bistro provided excellent customer service to us all and made as welcome on Saturday 13th Nov for lunch. Will defienlty be back.

Booked via phone while on the road. Arrived just shy of 7pm, greeted by a very lovely man who promptly checked us in. We had a king room. Now Im a bit over picky when it comes to cleanliness of hotels and motels but I could not fault the standard here. The bed....omg the bed is so comfortable. Complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolate and coffee pods. Full size fridge, microwave, toaster,kettle and crockery. The decor is beautiful, very modern and very clean. I never take photos of hotels/motels we stay in but I did this one! Leather tub chairs with marble top table in the sitting area were very comfortable. Bathroom is well spaced, clean and very modern. Breakfast is complimentary and available in the dining room. This motel is well under priced. Highly recommended.

Attention to detail, very comfy beds and pillows. Staff were delightful and loved that there were chocolates for us when we went to make our coffee!

Stayed 2 nights here. One of the nicest motels Ive stayed at. Beautiful modern decor, very comfortable bed and amazing breakfast variety. Would highly recommend!

Can’t recommend these guys enough. Didn’t get to stay as some big life circumstances got in the way but they went out of their way to sort my cancellation out, even though last minute and made the effort to show empathy about my situation. Super kind and helpful, will definitely book there again.

Staff were very friendly. Nice little motel just off the freeway but was very quiet. Continental breakfast was great.

Very comfy bed, Renovated, great furnishings, oven, tv and fridge are new, fast wifi, very nice receptionist and complimentary breakfast. You get what you pay for and even more to be honest. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

The rooms look like just been updated, we stayed in the King bed room (not sure of the name of the room). You can still hear a bit of noise from the neighbours, breakfast supplied, rooms very cozie and friendly staff.For the price its a very good motel.

Stayed here for a night..nice clean rooms comfy beds..walked into the bathroom and thought we would fall through it..floor is very soft and uneven, rotting underneath. Also walls are very thin..can hear everything with guests next door..wanted to ask to change rooms as it was very noisy but reception was shut. Great Chinese up the road. Missed breakfast due to public holiday..

Really, good place to stay, very friendly people. Their complimentary breakfast is so nice and highly recommended place to stay.

Have stayed here a couple of times now and very happy with the place. Great service - reception are always very helpful especially with dinning recommendations. A great little coffee machine in your rooms and best of all a VERY comfortable bed. Thanks again.
