Mortimer in Amsterdam

Delicious brunch menu which revolves around fresh and local products. Mostly revolving around eggs but with vegan options readily available. All dishes have their touch of originality, from vegan shakshuka to homemade baba ganoush and their signature egg benedicts. We opted for the Veggie breakfast, Vegan shakshuka and Mortimer eggs. The atmosphere is very cosy and also tend to be busy. As the place is quite small, prepare yourself to wait for a table. But really forwhile!

Menu looked great and the food was beautifully presented but everything included the coffee tasted really gross! Totally unexpected. The tomato on the eggs tasted like pasta sauce and the eggs carbonara was so salty and rich it was almost inedible. The meat was pure fat.

Wish I took photos but it was so good it dissapeared into our mouths. Tried the butter chicken shakshuka, full English and the Dutch eggs carbonara. Full English was the winner, great flavors on all parts of the dish.

The food here is amazing!! One of the best brunches i’ve had in a while !The shakshuka and mortimer eggs were the best thing we ordered !!! And the chai latte was also very good and perfectly spiced.The scrambled eggs were a little salty in our opinion but the overall quality of ingredients was there.The staff is also so friendly i will definitely come back when in Amsterdam

Dont mind the construction outside. This place has excellent food and good service. Its also very cozy. You must try the super crisp bacon!

LOVE this place for brunch! Right next to our hotel and didn’t expect anything special but loved it so much we plan to go back! The staff is also super nice. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and it was amazing (i’m not vegetarian and even my dad who loves bacon and sausages, loved it). Highly recommend!

The breakfast was ok, I expected a bit more based on the good reviews.

Rude. We came at 1.30. Empty restaurant, waited for 15 minutes to get a menu. Eventually, the kitchen was closed already, though working hours written until 3. Don’t go there if you don’t want them to mess your mood.Left without food or drinks.

Small cozy, place for breakfast/ late breakfast… healthy sophisticated portions , good options for non eggs eaters ( the burrata sandwich

Nice breakfast/lunch place in a cozy small building in central Amsterdam.Quite expensive but definetely worth the visit.

Great Brunchspot, the Eggs were AMAZING, very fresh and delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice was very good too. The granola bowl was a bit disappointing for the price though, and the prices are bit higher compared to other brunch restaurants, but overall a very cute place close to central station

Was going here with 5 friends got told they wouldn’t serve a table of 5 due to staff shortages.Asked if we could sit in a 2 & 3 table was again told no… unfortunate.

Amazing full English breakfast just slightly healthier 😋 highly recommend and worth the wait for breakfast if its busy.

I came here because the photos and Google reviews were so good but I was pretty disappointed! After queuing for some time I was seated at a table that wasnt properly cleaned and the menus were sticky. Theres a kind of frat house next door (not the fault of the caféthat had left a lot of trash all around the outdoor seating area. The flat white was very weak and milky, the full English breakfast was fine although the bacon had a strange taste and consistency. Overall I think if the seating area had been cleaned up the experience would have been better but I still wouldnt rate the food.

An unpretentious, homey little breakfast/brunch spot. The staff was all friendly and down to earth. They serve good quality food; I love that the eggs are organic! My husband & I both loved our breakfasts. The portions were a great size. There’s indoor seating which is really tiny, but cute. Also outdoor seating. Def recommend!

Friendly wait staff and the food was good. A bit pricey but happy to pay it to avoid tourist traps!We had Brioche with Jam, a Cappuccino, and Avocado Toast.

I was a bit desapointed but it was OK but we took 2 English breakfast and 2 chaï lattes, I paid 56€. I came back home and checked my bill and realized than I payed 1 burrata sandwich 15€ but we never had that and when I try to call the restaurant no one never answer.

Portions were a little small but the food was incredibly delicious. We had arrived midday and both the veggie breakfast and the full English werent available.I had the Mortimer eggs. It was wonderfully savoury.

Food was not good for that high price. Small portion, boring flavour, drinks were served after all of our food was gone, so useless at that time. Next time we will try ‘OMG’ right next to the Mortimer, looked much better🙃

Fresh delicious good quality breakfast.

Planning to have a quick breakfast, but waited for 20 minutes. Vegetables are not fresh, bread is like rock hard to bite. The high price probably goes to the dish being good looking. Flavor is just mediocre in the area. Go try somewhere else. Google score is not reliable here…

Long queue. Beautiful dishes and nice but I dont understand the hype.

Wasn’t sure on what to order, server patiently guided me through the menu. The products were all on point (coffee, orange juice, eggs Benedictbut what made this experience was the professional server.

Great brunch place in Amsterdam central. The food is super nice and decently priced. The staffs are also really nice and funny. I would definitely visit again.

Really carefully and beautifully prepared breakfast foods.One might think they put the same amount of love into the preparation of their coffees. Especially when you see the amazing beans they have on the grinders.Its the classic case of cafe bar restaurant, but has no baristas, space or time. (Or feels like it)And the coffee suffers: bad extraction, weird foam or burnt milk. Concact your coffee roaster for potential trainings. But yea if your team doesnt want to learn or adapt then thats game over.Anyway down the road just past the palace you can pay 4 euros for a flat white thats actually amazing.

Food is great and carefully prepared.Coffee is not so much.Very good beans for sure, the prep lacking.Espresso extraction is so bad even milk cant fix it, weird foam non tasting milk.Not the flat white you want in the morning.Down the road just past the palace you have a place called Hummingbird. Night and day for similar pricing. Your welcome.

Tiny breakfast/brunch café, always a queue but moves fast. Popular with the locals which O think is always a good sign. Food very nice. 4 stars only because as not much indoor seating outside is on a busy road. Would definitely go back though

We were waiting for the food for more than 40 min and it doesnt taste so good. Had stomachache after the meal. I dont recommend. The prices are also very high for the quality and service the restaurant offer.

Two things; full English and popcorn lemonade.Unreal. Chilled vibes with great coffee to go with it. Staff seemed lovely and my gosh… wait until that maple bacon graces your lips with it’s deliciousness.Go for breakfast!

Fantastic cozy little cafe and brunch spot, very small but some seating including an upstairs area. Very friendly staff, small but tasty menu. Popular with tourists and good for a home from away cooked ‘English’ breakfast!

The food we ordered was pretty decent and coffee was good! It would be a nice place to go if you are just nearby and want to have some brunches.

This restaurant is really busy, I was lucky to get a seat, as soon as I ordered my breakfast, it was obvious why this restaurant is such a success. Food and ingredients are of a very high standard and cooked brilliantly. The service was lovely - highly recommended.

Amazing food. The best eggs Benedict Ive had in Amsterdam. Got it with avacado and bacon. The bacon is crispy, sweet, and a little spicy, incredibly good and a must have. Avacado is nice too since it will balance out the bacon.The hollandaise sauce is what really makes it, theres a slight fluff to it which gives it a great texture and allows you to actually get some in each bite.Service was excellent and friendly staff. I would take friends here if I were to visit again.

I had very high hopes for this place but unfortunately I was quite disappointed. I ordered the eggs benedict. It had so much hollandaise sauce that I couldn’t taste anything else but it. I tried to remove a lot of it out but it was as though there was as an unending portion of it. I couldn’t taste the salmon or the egg just the sauce. Midway into my meal I felt super grossed out. But if you’re into eating copious amounts of sauce then you may like it 🤷🏻‍♀️Giving two stars because my husband’s French toast was good.

If you want to be served LEFTOVERS , it’s the perfect match!Without mentioning the lack of hygiene on tables .What a shame ! Literally the worst place to have brunch or breakfast in Amsterdam.I do not recommend.. don’t trust the Google score!

Hands down the best brunch restaurant AND coffee spot in Amsterdam.Staff is super kind and fun, food is delicious and service is fast and reliable.Also they have gluten-free and vegetarian options and many plant-based milk for alternative cappuccinos and lattes!

Not bad foodThe service was regular with little late of preparing coffee,I had my breakfast and finished while Im waiting of my coffee.The breakfast was poached eggs with mushrooms, and Flatwhite.The Food honestly wasnt tasty, the coffee was very good.The restaurant is ExpensiveFor me, this visit was the first and I think wont come again.

Cute place ✨Really good breakfasts. We tried English breakfast, yogurt, coffee and coconut cake. Everything was amazing. The only thing that could be improved to my liking is a little more granola in the yogurt.

It was probably my fault for thinking the smoked Ribeye Sandwich contained pieces from a ribeye steak, instead it was a very thinly sliced piece which wasn’t very appetizing. Also the bowl of fruit was very underwhelming, perhaps a better option would’ve been to get something from Albert Heijn. On the positive side, the staff were quite friendly.

Bacon & sausage & poached eggs are amazing! Though there was a little too much salt on the eggs. The latte is good too and it is a huge cup of coffee, even the cookie is tasty.

Had a lovely breakfast here. The place is not too busy and the food was excellent. The egs with fried chicken were amazing but the eggs Mortimer are also really good. Ill certainly be back.
