Moreno Spot Bar & Grill - Bar & grill in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Fuckna this place is so cool beans.... If your in old San Juan stop in.... There is a parking garage next to it before you get going and can prime up with good mojitos.... Mango was best, but all was delish... But the misuc was reggaeton and the environment was awesome.... Now the service wasbwith a smile and prompt.... 5 star place in old Town San Juan!
Amazing drinks. Fresh made !!! Great spot
The food was alright but it took us 2 hours to get 1 of our meals and we had three people. Then for the other 2 it took another half hour!! If you want to wait 3 hours for food this is the place. I don’t recommend it.
Good food, good drink, nice outside spot playing music.
Simple but good, a little expensive, but you are in old San Juan after all.The service is great, food is ok.The terrace at night is pretty pleasant!
Great service and the drinks are hella strong! Haha wow! Didn’t try the food but if you’re looking to tie it on stop in.
Don’t come here. There’s a reason they are the only place without a wait. Sat and waited an hour for Mofongo that tasted like a block of garlic. It’s like a club but instead of dancing, everyone is waiting and disappointed.
10/10 not worth it.I read all of the poor reviews prior to going but since this was the only place without a wait, we decided to go regardless. After waiting for over an hour for our food, my friend was informed that they were out of her dish. When the food finally came out, about an hour and a half later, I looked at my completely mediocre burger and just decided to eat it. About five minutes later, a waiter comes out with a plate of bacon that was supposed to be on my burger. Although my friend wasn’t even able to get food, we were still automatically charged with the 18% gratuity.
Went for dinner this past Saturday and had a terrible experience. They only deserve one star because the server was great, very attentive but other than that - NO. The drinks tasted like juice, very watered down, and the food was terrible when it came, the food tasted old, and not flavorful.
Bland food but good presented pina colada. Apparently they “don’t have sauce” when I asked for anything to go with my under seasoned chicken quesadilla
**SHORT STAFF** please hire more people, so you don’t outwork the guy who’s here. Around 4-5pm, the guys with black curly hair. He was working so fast, taking orders, running, cleaning tables, serving. PLEASE Tell me you guys pay these people good money!. Our order took some time, but it was so busy. Other than that, the food was great && the alcohol drinks were strong 😗🥰
We went here for the pina colada served in a pineapple and asked our server to make it strong and oh golly, was it good. I got 2! Our waiter, Martine I think, was fantastic. The food was so very good. I’d definitely eat here again! And drink here too!
Great music, good vibe, awesome outdoor seating. The drinks were good and food was decent. Not a bad place to hang out after a long day in old San Juan.
The service was very prompt and friendly and the location is attractive and outdoors, but the food itself was not great. The fish was very overcooked and tough, the Puerto Rican rice and beans (mamposteadowas flavorless and lacking in mouth feel.
I absolutely love this place ❤ Sadie makes us feel like family every time we visit 🥰and the food is always delicious 😋
Bad service seemed to be the theme of our weekend in San Juan. The service was super slow, the drinks werent good and the "loaded" nachos were awful. Then to top it off the waiter added a 20% tip to each bill. There was just three of us so we thought that was odd he would automatically add the gratuity. When questioned he said oh I do that to make it easier but I can take it off if you want....
Really liked the place, ambiance, food, service. I am vegetarian so only tried the sweet plantains, rice and beans and flan for dessert and passion fruit mojito....everything was very tasty! Server was very friendly and nice. Speaks English and could help me with options as I am vegetarian. Definitely recommend!
I had a really great experience here. My waiter Felix was super friendly and made great recommendations. I had the chicharrón de pollo and the carne frota both were super juicy. The piña coladas from the happy hour were delicious! And the pasteles en hoja for appetizers tasted like they were bought in straight from the campo. My hookah also lasted from apps to drinks. Would visit again.
Great outdoor seating. We came here in our fist night in PR. The service was great, our server was very nice. The food was delicious. There was a stray cat nearby and the server was so nice to it. I appreciate when people treat animals with respect and love.
Stopped for appetizers and a beer; the stuffed jalapenos appeared to be store bought (still cold/semi frozen in the center). The shrimp/cheese quesadilla was pretty good. Beers were ice cold. Otherwise, a bit expensive despite being happy hour but given the touristy vibe the place was about what you would expect.
The best of Puerto Rico. Customer service, best shots, prices, best music, everything. If you go to Puerto Rico, don’t doubt in visiting Moreno’s. The best 🥳🥳🥳🥳
I am in shock that some people gave this place 5 stars. This is the worst place ever. We ordered sauteed shrimp & I swear they only served us THREE shrimp. We paid $17 the plate for that joke! Wow, never coming here again. The beans were also cold & the rice was flavorless. Do not come here unless you want to get ripped off & be extremely disappointed.
Nice outdoor seating restaurant in Old San Juan. They have nice drinks, food and Hookah. We tried the Sautéed Shrimp with Onion Rice, Alfredo Pasta and the Sautéed Chicken with Rice.Everything was amazing, and good quantity.Their Pina Colada was good.We also tried our first Moffongo here, and it was great! They have a nice sauce along with it. Really yummy. It is walkable from all the Hotels in Old San Juan.
So much fun, good food, drinks and super awesome vibes! Ask for Mari she plays the best salsa!! ❤️
Juana is a great waitress. The steak is perfectly seasoned. The rice and beans, so good. The rice and chorizo, so good. This is a must visit spot on your trip.
The food was so good!! The drinks were strong!! Our waiter was the best!! All around 5 star place, must check it out!!
Sooooo disappointed! I didnt come to San Juan to eat frozen base(dough for pizza with toppings. How dare you !On the other hand, great Piña Colada without alcohol
Really, bad place dont be tricked in going there its very racist, very unperfessional charging us $172.00 for three pizzas and chicken wings. And trying to fight their customers yeah for eating while Black!!! Crazy
Very chill spot for food, drinks, hooka or all three. Eat, drink and dance inside with AC or enjoy outside seating. Ate here 4 difffent days. Busy spot at times and service can be slow. Try to be patient. Food is delicious. Atmosphere is great. Music is great. Nightlife here is just great. One night they ran out of mofongo, they let us order from the restaurant next door and bring it over. Only complaint is the very tiny not so appealing bathroom. But overall I recommend.
Four of our party of five received meals. Our party finished their entire meal before the fifth meal was brought out in a to go box. When we suggested our waiter remove the meal from our receipt, he insisted he would have to take the food back. When asked to speak to a manager, everyone but the manager spoke on his behalf while he stood idly by. I’ve worked in customer service my entire life and this was by far the worst customer service experience I have had or witnessed. Overall, everything was handled very poorly and the food was mediocre.
Fantastic drink and lunch. Had a pina colada in a fresh pineapple. Food was awesome, had the Salmon with Mofongo.
The Pina colada was awesome
My girlfriend and I came to old San Juan for a vacation. I haven’t been to Puerto Rico 25 years, it was very excited. Instead of his your family I thought I just make this a great experience for me and my girlfriend. When we arrived, we both were excited, especially to have food from our roots. Cooked in the land of our roots. When we arrived at Marinos, The mood looked pretty good, people sitting and eating, smoking hookah‘s. However, we stood there for 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. I saw 2 empty tables and asked a man waiter if we can be seen. He just walked passed us. When he passed again, I pointed at one of the tables and said, “can we sit here”.. the man said, “yeah”. My girlfriend and I sat down at the empty table. We waited there 30 minutes and not 1 waitress or waiter even spoke to us. Not ordering a drink or anything. I vocally asked “can we order a drink” to one of the waitresses. She said, “I’m not your waitress”.. finally 5 minutes lasted, the man that I first spoke with came up and asked what we wanted to drink. We both ordered piña colada‘s served in pineapples. By that time, we both were frustrated and wanted to leave, but we decided to try to be optimistic and see if the service would change. About 15 minutes after our drinks came, the man came back and asked what we wanted to eat. We both order mofongo with shrimp. The food took about another 30 minutes to come out. The mofongo wasn’t all that good, I just picked the shrimp out and ate that. The plantains of the mofongo was rough to eat. 10 minutes later, the man came back with the bill.. $81.85!! YES... $81.85 for 2 mofongos and 2 piña colada’s.. there was NO WAY. I attempted to speak to the waiter explaining that it must be an error, he contested it wasn’t.. by this time, my girlfriend and I was extremely annoyed and angry.. she told me to just let it go and for us to just leave.. trying to avoid confrontation, I handed over my debit card. The man came back with the receipt and had the nerve to say “right here you can give a tip” (pointing at the receipt line where the tip percentages are).. and he continued, “or not give me a tip, it’s up to you”. He was laughing.. I was furious. I signed the receipt and we both stood up and left.. it bothered me the whole time as we walked back to our hotel. I had to prove to myself that the bill was mistaken.. I pulled up the website and menu and saw that the waiter actually double charged us. My girlfriend refused to let me go back and have it fixed. This caused an argument between us that totally ruined the night.. she wanted me to just let it go.. I wanted to go back and complain.. definitely a bad experience I won’t soon forget..I see that their are multiple other reviews about bad service at Moreno’s.. I should’ve researched it before I came.. I’d never come back. I don’t recommend Moreno’s to ANYONE. Bad service. Big mistake. Bad impression. Blah Mofongo.
Amazing vibes at night, chill vibes during the day. Had mofongo, cesar salad (helped for hangover lol), hookah ($25, $15 refilltheir happy hours are great, $10 for 2 sangrias or coke&rum. Staff friendly, good music mostly dembow, bachata, some salsa, and other genres. I totally recommend!
We waited an hour and had to call the waitress over to check on us and our food. Then another 20 minutes to get our food. We had a personal pan, 4 slice of pizza and a chicken burger with fries. It was actually a chicken breast with cheese and bacon that I didnt ask for. Nor was it listed that way on the menu
Anubis was an absolute amazing server! We stayed in PR in for 4 nights and each night we would go back here for some drinks, amazing service and great music. Definitely coming back!
Jasmin has been the reason my trip in Puerto Rico has been so great. She is extremely attentive with her clients and extremely professional. She’s great with making sure everyone feels at home and she helped us get around the area. I would recommend the place not only for the great food but the great experience. I will be coming 5 more times before my trip. The word is EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE !!!!!
Came here during my vacation from NYC and it was my favorite restaurant/bar/hookah spot. The drinks, food and atmosphere was GREAT! Our server Jasmine was very professional and nice. We sat out doors and in doors as well. The music was perfect as well!
Service was poor. Ordered 2 pizzas and a fettuccine and the fettuccine still never came after we were done the pizza. Finally after an hour wait we asked for the bill and the server asked if we wanted the pasta! Maybe if it was ready when ours was ready. Very poor. Then the server added a 15% gratuity on the bill and we didnt get any service. Avoid at all costs.
Great pizza12-15 dollars for a regular pizza. They have great hooka too.
Considering they just had an earthquake and it was drizzling rain and all traffic was stopped...It was an interesting area of Old San Juan Puerto Rico.
Me and my friends were traveling through San Juan and stopped to eat here. The food was fine although for snack items the total was outrageous. The worst is when we try to pay for our meal with a card and they said their machine was down and made us pay cash. Several weeks later we get charged from this restaurant with the card we used. The restaurant isnt cooperating and we have not received our refund in fact we keep getting charged not once but multiple times for this meal. They are deceitful.
We ate our dinner on the sidewalk. The sights and sounds of. Old San Juan made the food even more. The food was tasty and well seasoned. The wait staff was friendly and gave direction to a bakery for dessert. The restaurant is not far for the cruise line. So, enjoy!
The outdoor seating was absolutely perfect after a long day of walking around town - good people watching but not too crowded. Service was great, drinks were very good. (Did not order food this time.)
Good food. Convenient outside seating. We were wet from the beach on our way back to our cruise ship so outside seating was a must. Small kids menu but there is a pizza shop right there that you can order from the table as well (for picky kids).
Bathroom was dirty. Mofongo was good...but the food took forever to get to us. The owner/waiter seemed nice and gave us some free mozzarella sticks...and to be fair they let us use the bathroom a different day and it wasnt as bad. But I do suggest they clean it up.
We visited here on a Monday it was 1:00 ish. The service was quite slow and the food was not up to par with the prices. The monfongo was dry and not traditional. I would say that the overall experience was not good. Wouldn’t come here again.
Great ambiance & a friendly environment. They really make you feel at home.
Waitress was very helpful, spoke perfect English, sangria tasted like Hawaiian Punch. Ordered a sampler platter that was just a bunch of food in one sauce that wasnt super good. The fried plantains were good. Probably way better choices in town.
Went inside but the music was extremely loud, and I enjoy concerts but this hurt my ears. Not crowded but had a difficult time getting two beers. Staff was chatting up other tables for 10 or so minutes even though she said it was okay to have a seat outside. Only had a beer because we couldnt wait another 30 minutes for another and in that time the two servers were getting upset at a table that just left, speaking loudly and harshly in front of everyone.
