Moore Hall - Tourist attraction in Ros Comain, Ireland
Nice one from spin bike,,Walk 👍
This was a really fun little find you could spend a large amount of time out walking around here you get some cool historical sites and some very beautiful nature sights. This would also be one great for kids there is a small play area in the front and fun little obstacles along the path as you walk has definitely been on of my favorite things we have seen
One of the best PLACES visit
Gorgeous place inside these even prettier woods
Amazing place. Great place to wander around - suitable for everyone - young and old.Only drawback - the toilets - nearly got sick!
Free place, very nice. Not very long but very lovely 👌
A happy accident finding this place! So glad we stopped and enjoyed the walk in the woods, the beautiful walled garden. Cant go in the ruins but its a special place and worth visiting. There are toilets as well as a food truck. Lots of parking. And free!
Great site to visit and learn about its place in history. Beautiful walk
Lovely quiet place with interesting play areas for childelren. Good parking .
Nice wiews for walking 😩👍
We enjoyed visiting the ruins of the Moore Hall. The house is nothing special but the estate is beautiful. It was nice to walk and cycle in the woods.
Turned up here after seeing it randomly on instagram. No one else there at 10:30am so had the place to myself. Now I obviously wouldn’t condone it but it doesn’t look the hardest place to get inside if you wanted …
Little gem of a park to visit. Toilet facilities and also a coffee Dock was there too on our visit.
It is a beautiful walk. Dog friendly, bins located in the car park so you dont have to bring the dogs business home with you. Amazing wooden statues and the place clean but there is the odd poo so be careful where you walk. Has kids seesaw and a few more things scattered on the walk and a little kids wooden boat in the car park. Ample space to park your car and there is a gourgeous lake just opposite the forest. Toilets available there and the day we were there, there was a little fast food van. Cant enter the old ruins but still well worth seeing from the outside.
Lovely walk and interesting ruins
Wonderful location. Great facilities. Spoiled by the coffee trunk and its very noisy generator running the whole time.
Lovely spot. Great history to the place & very well maintained 👌
Great place. You have an entire park, parking, with tables and view to the lake and then the alleys to the hall have wood sculptures and some activities for children and not only. Should be on a list if you visit Mayo county.
Absolutely beautiful place. Such a hidden gem. Wonderful walk around the forest. Stunning spot
What a place. Peace and tranquility at its best. And it sitting here on my doorstep
I just loved the place and someday if Id finish my study and have a stable job I will visit here❤️
Great spot for a walk. Kids lived it. Animal wood carvings .
Love this spot! Beautiful developed walks, child and buggy friendly, and dogs welcome (on lead). Map of marked walk around the house and walled garden featuring some beautiful carved wooden animals and birds.Childrens wooden play equipment including a pirate ship to keep the little adventurers entertained!Lakeside views, picnic benches and a catering trailer most weekends. Good parking but it does get busy!
Lovely spot for a walk. Theres a few different trails for different distances. The building is pretty impressive too.
Lovely easy walks and the ruins of the house are something special. Beautiful setting with gorgeous wood carvings dotted around the paths
Must visit. Nice walk in the woods. Family friendly playground. Near the lake. This unique ruins is one of the most amazing historical places in Co. Mayo. Only 16 min drive from Castlebar town.
Lovely park and lake around the Hall, nice place for a walk/picnic
Beautiful park, amazing house. You can educate yourself about place and it’s history as very good information about the place are there. Very impressed 👍
A great place for a family day out. Mayo co co and community have invested a lot in this amenity recently and the place is kept extremely well. Lovely walks (suitable for all ages incl buggies and small kidsand a very well thought out picnic area , which is the cleanest Ive seen in a long time. Looking forward to visiting again.
This place is absolutely stunning! It’s so calm and peaceful here and there are lovely walking paths with lots to see and lots for the kids to do all along the walking paths from start to finish. They have lovely play equipment as well as benches and statues along the way. Definitely recommend stopping here!
Lovely walks and trails for kids and grown ups!
History, nature, art and recreation in one place...we are keep going back there because we love it... beautiful walks.. picnic areas.. playground, public toilets, car park, little beach nearby (lough carrato trough a few stones and watch fisherboats.. what else do you need for a Sunday afternoon ??✌️😎
This is a fantastic area for a family walk. They have added so much to the experience. I recommend this anytime. One thing that need attention are the toilets. They are all blocked and in need of cleaning
Lovely little walk with a beautiful old house. Toilet facilities and there was a food truck doing burgers etc and another serving crepes... Bonus or what!
Nice for a relaxed walk with some interesting history and wood carvings along the way
One of the most important historical homes in Ireland. Mayo County Council manage it and there is restoration going on in the walled garden. Located on the shores ofough Carra and Ballintuber Abbey
Not the most spectacular walk in Mayo but the estate has great atmosphere and the renovation work which is underway will improve the experience
Great maintained paths and lovely activities spread around the walk for kids
Beautiful and very quiet peaceful place on the banks of Lough carra .Take some sandwiches and a drink..
A beautiful place of tranquility. It is steeped in history. One could walk for miles around it It is a wonderful place to get away from reality.
A very bleak and depressing area. I stayed in moorehall for a fishing holiday in the summer. Odd locals who are living in the dark ages and make you feel like they own the area (which they do notand spy on you . Locals need grow up with the rest of society and move into the 21st century like the rest of Ireland. Two pubs in the area, polluted lake, not much going on and Very far from Westport. More beautiful places in the south of Ireland to visit where locals are friendly and less intrusive and more friendly/forward thinking. I expect that the locals do not get out very much. Not worth a visit , avoid.
Nice place, great for walk.
Amazing piece of history and a beautiful walk
Great place for a cycle and picnic
Great place for a little walk followed by a stroll along the lake front. Picnic benches at the car park. Only downside is the ruins are all closed off. Not that that stops people climbing in anyway!
A beautiful place,I lived near by it a few years back, I spent many a night and day their... In the house and forests.. I would not like to see it ruined by bus loads of tourists. I suggest having great respect in around it. Especially at night!.
Lovely location with ample parking and fantastic scenery. Some of the paths could be maintained a bit better and the surrounds of the house itself get very boggy after wet weather. It would have been nice to have some more information available about the history of the area too.
Used to be a really nice place but needs some time spending on it to get the paths back into shape. They are really muddy and getting overgrown in places. Also the stone floor outside the toilet block is a death trap when its wet. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Worth the drive. When we went, we didnt see one other person. Cool views and nice stroll through the woods to get there
Not much left of the hall but it had some witty graffitiMoore Hall was burned down in 1922 - the building is not inviting but the grounds are very nice to walk in.
