Alameda Franklin Delano Roosevelt, San Salvador, El Salvador, Santa Ana
Imposing 1942 monument featuring a tall pedestal with a statue of Jesus standing on the Earth.
Its nothing more than a public park, but its a nice relatively safe hangout if you get bore at night and want some fresh air: its open, i think all night, the latest Ive been there is 3 AM and theres people hanging out. There are a few restaurants nearby but they closed early. I go because it gives my 4 year old a chance to hangout in an open space which is not very easy to find in the city.
Nothing unique about the place!
Very Nice Park. Had hot Chocolate and Coffee while we Relaxed.
The Plaza Salvador del Mundo , formerly called "Plaza Las Américas", which contains the Monument to the Divine Savior of the World , is located in the city of San Salvador , El Salvador . It is considered a national symbol of this country. The structure was designed by architect Carlos Varahona Villaseñor , and consists of the figure of Christ , patron saint of the country, on a globe that is in turn mounted on a pedestal. At first the image adorned the tomb of Dr. Manuel Enrique Araujo , president of the republic at the beginning of the 20th century . The presidents family presented the image to the Archbishop of San Salvador Monsignor Luis Chávez y González on the occasion of the First National Eucharistic Congress in 1942 , which in turn coincided with the commemoration of the first centenary of the erection of the Diocese of San Salvador, Archdiocese today . was unveiled onNovember 26 of that year. In fact, from this square, one of the four main roads that surround it, the road that corresponds to the southwest of it, is called Alameda Manuel Enrique Araujo, in homage to the much-loved president in the second decade of the 20th century.
Busy place surrounded by traffic. Skateboarders were nice. The monument looks nice lit up at night.
Amazing ,its really good to sit down and get some time to relax , you can walk, do excersise , practice sports such as skate or bike 🚲
The park is not controlled very well so its basically just at one giant skatepark. Nothing against skateboarders but its overwhelming on a Sunday. Other days of the week its not as full but its difficult for it to be family-friendly with the amount of sports going on at the same time. Also, most areas that could be used for seating are used for skating. The city needs to create a designated skate park considering there are none available.
A really nice to hang out and a beautiful view
Beautiful park to walk around. It would be nice if they added parking space. Some local stores charging $10 just for parking.
This trip was my first to El Salvador and I hope to return soon. Its a beautiful country with equally beautiful people and food.
Pretty hard to get there during the week, because it is dangerous to cross the street with the crazy traffic
I went here because it is characteristic for the city, but I cant say it is nice. It is actually pretty ugly and due to the traffic it is also not a place to relax and enjoy.
It"s la beautifull park and monument, many thinks to do close by, I felt safe there
The only 2 things I dont like about this place is the horrible traffic and no parking spaces or parking lots to park.
It is located at the heart of the city. I was there on a Sunday. There were a lot of skateboarders practising. Its a one-of-a-kind monument in the world.
Woo very nice 4 wheel rent cars my son have lot fun
It is the best Christmas lights that a see in El Salvador!Theres a bunch people selling souvenirs most of them very unique. I hope that they can keep this tradition every Christmas time
Amazing place to experience a beautiful moment and food fun on traditional salvadorean cuisine.
One of San Salvador main Plaza.. Diversity all over the place... Selection of tipical food and conviently located in front of Mc Donalds.Police all over offers a save walk all over vecinities.Public transportation its all over the area
Very pretty
It is a special monument when you visit El Salvador, during Christmas season, a huge Christmas tree is set up with digital designs around it and playing popular Christmas songs...
It was a most excellent monument. It inspired me. I wrote a poem.
Its very nice and clean. A very beautiful spot to have a walk, see sunsets or just hangout with friends or family but keep in mind if you go during the day there is no place to stay where the sun wont burn you.
Its a place to visit just for a couple of minutes its is small and does not have any other attraction its surrendered by fast streets (be careful with the cars crossing)
Nice place to take pictures. The monument lights up at night and looks very nice.
Nice place, just hard to cross the street, there is no designated area to get inside the circle where the monument is.
It’s a square where the statue of Jesus as the savior of the world is located. Surrouing the square are various restaurants, many of themNorth American chains. Also, of interests for tourist is the local bus station nearby the square offering a direct line across San Salvador to the Terminal Plaza Amanecer bus station where buses make frequent runs to, among other destinations, San Miguel.
An iconic place here in El Salvador, in the heart of San Salvador. El Salvador del mundo is a place where to meet others, where to enjoy the breeze and the wind blowing your hair, specifically at night where the lights of the buildings make it very enjoyable.
This was a good stop at night. Its nice that they add Christmas lights for the holidays. They also have official vendors selling food and hot drinks. The unofficial vendors are a little annoying.
Nice place to take a pictures
It is a must visit place if you are visiting San Salvador. Symbol of pride and freedom of the country. There are many hang out restaurants around it. Many skate boarders you can find in the evening as even you dont practice, you gonna love to watch them in action. At night, it is one of the most happening place during weekends. Worth to give a try.
Lugar perfecto para ir con niños, seguridad casi todo el día, restaurantes cerca, lugar muy sano (Perfect place to visit with the family, theres a lot of restaurants around there, and something really important is that security is almost the whole day there)
I was there at night, its like a park, no bathroom available at the site, at they time might be tu sunny like at noon time for exemple. A Mcdonalds restaurant is right there on the other side of the street. O yes the place is in between a trafic road circle. Safe place has comunity vigilancy or gurds.
National monument dedicated to Jesus, the Savior. Great place to chill and take pictures. Heavily guarded by the local military police, is a venue for street artists, local food and skaters.
Loved it! Soldiers on duty are not allowed to take pictures with you, but if you ask maybe they will let you take one with the hummer. Large plaza, a bit tricky to get to and find parking.
Beautiful place, full of life! During the Christmas seasonA lot of street vendors, selling food and merch.
Thiss a family frondly monument, they have various little chalets food stands where you can buy at a low cost traditional food.
This pkace is a great place to have some good time with kids and family, some times there are special events like synphonic orchestra or spiritual events......on november and december the place become into a park because can find etnic food, snacks and can take a walk with your pets with confidence because poloceman is working hard
Nice view. Variety of events take place . The bad thing is the traffic around this place.
Nice beautiful place, specially during the Christmas period. Most important national events will take place here, or either start or finish here, so keep that in mind when visiting. Its an important national monument and one of the few opened spaces to hang around.
No shades, is a great place to practice skate boarding or just to watch it, nice view of one of most representative monuments of Salvadorian culture, cons: no water, no much seats, close to the main street and it cause you to have the traffic noise all time
The monument is nice, highly recommended during the day. During the night I only suggest you show for special events. During the holidays it gets very lively. Go calmly but always be weary.
It can get really busy ! It’s the center of a traffic circle or ‘round about. There is some shopping and eats in the area. Clearly the weather affects your visit and there can be “pop up” demonstrations of various causes. As a tourist, may be best to circle ‘round and come back later. It is a MUST SEE spot tho’.
El Salvador del mundo is a very nice and neat place to go with your family and friends. Theres a nice square where people take pictures and simply spend time together
A very emblematic plaza in the capital city. A good place when to spend time alone or with friends and family. You can young skaters having good time as all visitors. Unfortunately, no restroom and no disent place to buy a good snack. But you can take it from other place!!
Commercial area with lots security, currently we have the Capitals Christmas Tree sitting on there with beautiful Christmas lights and San Martin bakery, great place to visit at night and take pictures!
Excellent place for events. Rush hour is a killer though in this area though😅. You can find many restaurants in this area. People from village would come amd display their culture. Food, games, music etc.
Nice place to take a walk, skate and just hangout
Family gathering. Perfect for pictures.
This place is a great choice for have fun and take pictures, is open 24 hours. I recommend park your car in front of the place. Is secure and safety
