Montevideo Beer Company (MBC) - Bar in Montevideo, Uruguay
Montevideo Beer Company (MBC) in Montevideo
Description
Waiter was not intrducing me to the special ordering system, then was served the wrong burger, then they wanted to correct but the burger was cold then…very small portion of fries..
MoreLimited seating options, over all the place is okay
Taste is good .Ambience is cool.Nice place for dinner .
Amazing place with good drinks and bar food
Nice ambience and fine beer selections
Good ambience but becomes very crowdy
This place is amazing. Located at prime location, having open area which is good for winters n summer both. Cerveza is really good n different and pizza and chicken nuggets are really nice 🙂.
MoreSo much variety of beer. The sitting plan the beer drums and the VAN on the left makes you feel sitting in a beer yard with a nice fragrance of beer all around.
MoreThe place is nice and very popular. Large choice of beers.
Beers are quite good but the guys working here are super rude if you are not fluent in Spanish. Weirdos :)
MoreI visited MBC at Sinergia Design, it was a frustrating experience, I was attended by a badly educated and unprepared blonde. Great place, terrible service!
MoreBeers are not much above average, not as tasteful as for instance Mala Famas beers. Great outside area to sit, did not try the food.
MoreGood food, wasn’t stellar. But the outdoor seating area, the aesthetic and decor makes up for it :very attentive staff too.
MoreA crazy amount of beers, including many local. Fun, busy, young vibe.
Modern bar with international flavour, good selection of drinks and nice big building with beer garden too.
MoreVery good drinks and some options to eat.Great vibe, definetely recommended.
I had high hopes after what I had read but was very disappointed. We came mid-afternoon when it was not busy. The girl completely ignored us and did not take our order until another couple come in to order. Only a couple of the beers on tap are MBC specific and you would be better off getting a beer at one of the many other places that are starting to sell craft beer in Montevideo.
MoreThis place was aweful, the bartenders are very rude, and there is a very weird ticketing system for ordering/receiving your beer ! Beware !!!
MoreNot for foreigners, girls that take your order are super rude and treat you badly, bartenders are ok but you cant ask them for beer, you have to ask the rude girls
MoreLovely place for hangout with a chilled beer. Great environment.
Great place, the only problem that I found is that they close some "sections" early and just make the people that was drinking there flee away.
MoreThis was my least favorite spot in South America. The bartenders were rude and the food was bad. It’s not a brewery, so they don’t have their own beer but they do have a sizeable amount of options. I had a bottle of water and was told I would have to leave if I drank it there (even though we had ordered beer and food). The veggie burger is bad, it’s just quinoa with no sauce. Also there was no vibe, as we were the only ones there. I felt like the staff didn’t want us to be there.
MoreChilled out place. If you are lookinh to spend a evening with your friends this is the place for you. In the center of pocitos, good music, amazing crowd, booze and music. They have inhouse beers. We tried a few scottich, apa, golden. The best part is it is pocket friendly place.
MoreGood place where to try an artisanal beer in Montevideo. This is one branch of a few around the capital.Staff are friendly and the outdoor is quite cute! Can become busy, quite empty on a Sunday.
MoreGreat beer, solid burgers, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Place was spotless and vibe was great. Will definitely go back.
MoreGreat place to go for a drink and chat. The food is good though most of it is fat food.
MoreThis place does not deserve the name it is catering. Bare knowledge of beers by the girls. No table service and you cant decide which beers you want to taste if you want a flight. The "barman" decides. They have estrella and other industrial made beers in the list. There are better place in the surrounding.
MoreThe best thing about this places is for sure it’s location. The variety of beer it’s okay, even considering that when I asked for a Porter they looked at me like not knowing what it was. They had stout instead. Am actually not exactly certain of the difference between those two beers, it could be in relation to the alcoholic graduation given that the Stout is generally stronger than the Porter. Or it could be in reference to where those type of beers where originally brewed by a company that assigned that name. I think I remember having read somewhere that Porter had it’s name because it was the preferred libation for porters in the areas around docks. It could be so, figuring the fact that generally dark beers have a stronger, or higher alcohol percentage. So if you are in the area, and want to have some ok beer this will be the right choice for you. You will enjoy the ambiance and if you lived in the neighbourhood you might remember having passed by here when the building was a clinic back in the day.
MoreOne of the few large, fun and full bars I was able to find in Montevideo in early January. They have a decent selection of 12-ish local beers on tap (they don’t brew their own), which you can try individually or as part of a flight. The place caters to a diverse crowd: there’s a chill and very millennial patio outside, as well as an inside area with loud music. Only downside were the burgers, which were pretty dry.
MoreGood beer, modern style, good food as well and very friendly service
Average craft beer pub, with no personality at all. Beer is good and well poured, and the burgers are good. There is no table service. Theres barely any social finger food on the menu, which should be basic for a place like this. Also its usually very packed after 9 pm
MoreGood food. Good beer. Good music. Lots of outdoor space. One of my go-to places when out-of-towners come. Great place for a good burger.
MoreVery popular microbrewery in Pocitos neighborhood. Very good selection of beers with a basic pub menu. Outdoor space is great; indoor space is nice but limited.
MoreGood ambient, and good beer. I do not recommend the burger though. Too dry and over cooked.
MoreGreat and varied beer selection. Despite the fact thats its ALWAYS full of people, its a big place to contain crowds. The infrastructure seems like a huge residence and you can stay indoors or outdoors. If you find theres a huge line to get to the front counter, you have another smaller and lesser known counter in the depths of this house, just remember to look around.
MoreGreat location, cosy outdoors and stylish indoors. Good beers, friendly staff
Wide variety of crappy beers offered. Food is also rather bad. Cool place to hang out for a while, though.
MoreGreat atmosphere! The employees are friendly and the beer is great. As a tourist I was very happy to find such a nice brewery.
MoreA perfect spot to relax outside with a cold one. They have c. 10 beers on tap with a good range of styles and percentages. We tried their tasting flight and enjoyed the four included
MoreA good selection of beers. Also let you taste some before choosing which one to buy. The bar is the coolest and most nicely made I have seen during my thrips around South America! I would be a regular here if I was living in Montevideo!
MoreNice place to get drinks. Lots of locals so cool experience
As tourists my husband and I really enjoyed to visit this place and drink a couple of local beers listening to great music. Public is mostly locals. The hamburger was average. I would come back only for drinks.
MoreGreat beer selection but service has to do some homework.
Always crowded.. Anytime of the year one can find quality crowd here.. Buzzing atmosphere. Many varieties of beer. Also handful of munching options in the burger menu, if you are running high on appetite..
MoreGreat place for drinking local craft beers, good outdoor space, usually crowded.
One of the best atmospheres in Montevideo to hang out and have a drink. It gets slammed packed but its great to be outside and just hang out with a beer. The beer selection is great, they have anywhere from 10-15 beers on tap and they are all from Uruguay. Overall one of the best hangout spots around.
MoreBest crafted beer in town, gets crowded everyday. Almost impossible to get a reservation, most likely to not find a seat but that is fine, the atmosphere and beer more than make up for it.
MoreCrowded. Expensive. Awful music. Excellent location and lovely patio. Awesome beer. Ambiguous...
MoreGreat young vibe to a very cool beer factory! Great food too! Arrive early for a nice spot at their lovely beer garden! Enjoy!
MoreIPA due delicioso y lupuloso! Great place. Really enjoyed their hoppy IPA.
