Monsoon Restaurant & Bar - Restaurant in Thongwa, Myanmar
Great food, great value and quick delivery. Miss it when not in London. Recommend Monsoon to everyone.
BYOB. Good service from helpful staff. Good curry dishes. Strongly recommend. Good value too.
Really love resturant, lovely staff, food was nice with really good sized portions. Will diffently go back again
Delicious food, exciting variety of dishes and great service. Ive been ordering from Monsoon from a few years and am always happy with the food and service. Lots of interesting options available for vegetarians and pescatarians. Cant recommend enough!
Still the best curry for miles! Its a BYO (so its dead cheap!but theres a great off licence a few doors down and a pub opposite for supplies of booze.
Underrated curry place, very good value and very good Daal
I never leave bad reviews, but this was beyond disappointing, especially as we recently moved to the area and it seemed to be a local favourite. Ordered for collection, it was ready in 10 minutes. Food wasnt hot enough or fresh–everything seemed to be reheated. Chicken Tikka Masala was so terrible we couldnt eat it; Tandoori Prawn Chilli Masala was extremely overdone; Garlic Naan was almost stale and the sauce for the poppadoms had basically congealed. £30 down the drain.
Terrible take away. Had used them before and were loyal however, after tonight’s experience, I would rather starve then use them again.Rude, arrogant, refused a refund over raw keema naan and a tikka masala that looked and tasted like a Korma. Food was not fresh either, especially when it took 10 minutes to arrive.
I’ve just had my standard veggie order (chana dal, brinjal bhaji, sag aloo, garlic naanand it was DELICIOUS. I’ve been getting takeaway here for 10+ years and I swear this was the best yet! 10/10 Thank you Monsoon 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
One of the best curries Ive eaten in many years. Thank you 👍
I ordered from here because I fancied a Chicken Tikka Masala the ones in the pics looked lovely a red mine was brown and tasted off
Had a lovely evening here. Service was good and the food was excellent. I had the Nepal Chicken. Very tasty and just spicy enough. Side dishes and breads were delicious. Worth a visit.
We have had consistently lovely food delivered! Furthermore great service, for example the last time we ordered they made a slight mistake with one meal (chicken rather than prawn for our pescatarian children), but after one simple phone call they drove over with a replacement corrected meal!
Best of the best . What a gem, great service and excellent covid precautions exercised .Meat was tender and unlike many others you could just tell food was freshly cooked . When in area I will revisit for sure !!
This no-frills Indian restaurant does reliably good food and has a really friendly staff. Its small and located on a quiet side street in near Dartmouth Park/Kentish town. I highly recommend the Achari lamb if you like heat and flavour and their version of Saag Paneer is really tasty with a coconuty twist! They also offer the standard masala curries for a milder dish. Cant wait to return!
Lovely meal served by our host Chef Ali and his staff. Would highly recommend a visit. They also do a great takeaway.
Curry was great! All staff were friendly and full of hospitality. I really want to come back here !!
Last Time i have visited Monsoon though it was Covid 19. Food, Service and Online order was very Good.
This was our local curry for 2 years and we loved it! Often tempted by the smell when walking past. The staff were always really friendly and helpful. A lovely local restaurant with yummy food! We miss it!
I am stunned by the negative reviews. Since moving to the area, this has been the only Indian restaurant I have been ordering from, and it’s by far the best I have ever had. The Sha-coo-tee is to die for, and the Bombay Murgh Masala is literally the best curry I have ever had. Both of these, in fact. Staff has always been friendly, delivery always on time and the one time they messed up my order I received the ‘wrong’ item for free while they corrected my order to the original one I wanted. Basically free curry! In my opinion, the no.1 best Indian takeaway in London, for both value and quality.Go for their specialty curries or North Indian dishes rather than the boring old curries, and you will be absolutely amazed by the flavours.
Very nice and tasty food, I love it. Definitely I recommend to others.
awful.awful.awful. daughter and I had takeaway tonight, ordered chicken madras.[dont eat red meat]got lamb or beef, not quite sure, didnt realise ,til after i,d eaten a piece. Pilau rice tasted like plain boiled rice.daughters balti tasted of tomatoes with a slight hint of chilli, on top of all this we,ve spent the evening running to the loo with extremely loose bowel movements, needless to say entire meal ended up in the bin,may I say quite safely so foxes dont suffer the same fate as us, never mind the current virus, beware monsoon virus!!!!!!!!
Our Table Was Dirty And Had A Few Hair On It Properly From The Previous Customer Had The The Lam Archari The Dish Had More Pickle Piceses Then Mean And Their Mushroom In the Mushroom Rice Had A Very Weird Taste To It Cud Not Finish At After Having One Spoon Every Disspointed With Our First And Last Visit
The food was ok. Nothing more. We went with our 2 kids, they served and charged us forv6 adults. Dietry restrictions were met after insisting and the owner liked my little girl a little more than he professionally should I guess. Go with friends, be alert on your bill. Attached.
Amazing food. I cant recommend this place highly enough. BYOB.
I love the guys in this place, always friendly in the restaurant and delivery is quick too. A good range of dishes for meat eaters, pescatarian and vegetarian alike. Our favourites are lamb bhuna, the salmon starter, tarka daal and chapatis and much more. Dont expect desi spices, but for a local restaurant its great .
Absolutely by far the best indian takeaway we have ever eaten at food is amazing so is customer service
My personal experience of this restaurant was negative. A while ago I ordered a takeaway from Monsoon for me and a couple of friends and when I received the order half of it was wrong. I also didnt find their food to be particularly great or good value for money and Ive eaten a lot of currys in my time. If you want a good curry try somewhere else instead seriously!
Good food and worked out pretty cheap. Though the tastecard could only be used on a small selection of dishes
Deliciously rich and flavoursome curries. Good value, considering the size of the portions, and lovely staff. Recommended.
After a slightly delayed delivery due to a very busy evening we received the most delicious takeaway. Highly, highly recommended for very high quality food and friendly service. The best for miles around.
Great little find on our recent trip to London! We were walking down the street & stumbled across this restaurant. The service was fantastic - fast ,very personable and friendly! The food was very authentic and delicious. Would definitely recommend :)
I am so utterly disappointed with monsoon. Tonight we were hosting some friends (one of them vegetarian and ordered in from monsoon. We were all digging into our meal when our vegetarian guest spat out a large piece of beef from her vegetable korma. There were multiple pieces of meat in there. I am so utterly disgusted that monsoon would allow this to be handed to their customer. When calling to complain, the man on the phone asked how much beef? - this is not a question that should have been asked. The rest of our meals were ruined as we had to cook for our upset guest. When we called to complain we were only offered a voucher for next time. Believe me monsoon I will not be returning. TERRIBLE.
My favourite local IndianWe are spoiled for choice with Indian takeaways in North London, but Monsoon remans my favourite - friendly service, consistently high quality curries (my favourite is the hyderbadi - hot and sour and completely delicious! and really reasonable prices. .. plus their coconut ice cream dessert is to die for! Ive only eaten in a few times but they make you feel really welcome and the fact you can bring your own wine/beer is a big bonus. Highly recommended!
Literally my favourite curry house in the world ever, used to live nearby and these guys kept me fed through uni and its always a pleasure to go back! Would recommend to anyone! Go there.... NOW!
Very nice staff and amazing food! Would definitely order from here again.
A small friendly restaurant tucked away in the residential area of Dartmouth Park. Excellently prepared and generously portioned dishes ranging from mild to spicy. A truly authentic taste of Indian cuisine at a reasonable price. No licence for alcohol but you can bring your own at no extra charge. Highly recommended.
Great curry, reasonably priced and very friendly staff. If you like heat I recommend the Naga.
Monsoon offers some pretty authentic Bangladeshi fare. Suggest that you steer away from the menu and ask for the best home food from the kitchen.
Didnt get to try the food after waiting over an hour has to leave. They seem to prioritise deliveries over customers sat waiting. I would recommend goes elsewhere
Really quick delivery. Lovely selection of vegetarian food and not pricey which is always a bonus. Food lacked a little in spice but a sprinkle of dried chillies made it to our liking 😃
Love this spot. No high end but authentic and tasty. Big portions and BYOB :)
Amazing Indian food! Very cool service and quick turnaround. Recommend to try it all!
The delivery was quick, we got a lot of food, and there was plenty of meat in the dishes. But we werent keen on the food. The rogan josh was a basic beef and tomato stew but with not much flavour, and the chicken tikka masala was a very thick paste that tasted of peanuts and was slightly cheesy. The sag aloo was also dry and lifeless.
Superb meal. Highly diligent staff who took their time but produced top quality cuisine. What it lacks in decor (its nothing special insideit makes up for in flavour.
Should you happen to order and pay online and the takeaway is not open, they are not prepared to reimburse you.I happened to order food for about £21 and paid via paypal at noon. As I did not receive the delivery after an hour I investigated further and had to conclude that the shop only opens from 530pm onwards. Somewhere on their website you can find their opening hours, but nothing hinders you to order out before 530. I sent an email at 2pm and asked for reimbursement. They called me back at 11.24pm but missed me. The next evening I was calling them. They remembered me, but told me that there is only the option to receive the food another time. Because of paypal they would loose the paypal fee and VAT and they are running a business. Running the business this way they are losing customers. I am waiting for the money.
One of my most favourite indian takeaways. i have ordered from the food is class recomended for anyone who enjoys indian food a full five stars for this.
Foods fantastic, service is quick and you can bring your own alcohol. Whats not to like?
I will never have a home delivery from anyone else. Friendly staff and fantastic food .The menú is comprehensive.
I went to Monsoon with my family and the service was Fantastic! The staff were very polite. The food was brilliant, I loved to Chicken Tikka. I look forward to going to Monsoon again. I highly recommend this.
