Mongo Asian Food - Asian restaurant in Thessaloniki, Greece
Mongo Asian Food in Thessaloniki
Description
Privilege
Wouldnt go here again. Had take away. Asked for less noodles and more vegetables, the lady said that it was possible, gathered a small portion and said this is the regular portion of vegetables we can give. So there was no extra vegetable at all. Then I asked for fried noodles and came home to see boiled noodles in the container. No taste either, very bland.Would rather have the money back instead of a pot full of noodles and hardly any vegetables. Its cheaper for the company to cook more noodles than vegetables.
MoreRamen is fine but the waiting time really terrible (comparable or higher than a regular restaurant).
MoreWe got things to go. It was alright. To potato shrimp was good but we didn’t like the duck bao buns- something with the duck didn’t taste right…
MoreAsian fast foodNothing excitingDining area rather chaotic and not clean
Visited one evening about 8pm, sushi tasted like it had been made earlier and kept in the fridge for hours. Rice portion was large but the taste wasnt anything special. A bargain meal if you want but if you are looking for nice sushi look elsewhere. Staff werent very friendly amd seemed more interested in eating their own food inside the restaurant and not serving. I would not visit again.
MoreProbably the worst soup, called Ramen I’ve ever had. Only the sushi was ok, that’s why two stars. I wouldn’t recommend at all!
MoreBit expensive but overall food is really nice
Try anything you want from asian delights and you will get a value for money meal.
MoreAmazing food . The dishes are delicious and the fried banana dessert is the best sweet treat.
MoreGreat variety of food and healthy products. As a regular visitor, I can approve that they care about the places hygiene and freshness of ingredients. I would totally recommend it to try asian cuisine thats closer to greek standards.
MoreVery nice sushi place with a vegan options :)
The sushi and nigiri were with very good quality and there were variety to choose from. We also had 2 portions noodles with teriyaki and sweet & sour sause, which were great. The personnel is far more polite than those in Cosmos. The only remark is that the waiting time is so long as they have delivery orders, so with two small children we needed to wait for more than 20 mins.
MoreWe ate a noodle and rice dish, didnt had much flavor, wasnt spicy at all and didnt serve the vegetables that said on the menu. Do NOT order edame, they are overcooked and not salted.
MoreMediocrity At best. You get all hyped up for asian tastes. And you get diy noodles.Oh well
MoreFast service, nice portions, delicious noodles. You can also buy rice noodles to cook at home, together with a choice of Asian sauces.
MoreVery good noodles where you can personally choose what goes on them Subway style, sushi was fresh and tasty.
MoreIn order to like/enjoy your food order you have to understand a little about mixing tastes, otherwise...a place where you cook without actually cooking ☠ liked a lot the water, no joke, rose and mandarin sparkly water!
Morevery good Chinese food ! fast and value for mkney
Great and hot food served quickly and fresh. Simple but great food and service.
It was very bad food. sorry ....
Completly disappointing 2,70€ for a Mini edamame, 5,60 € for a soup with vegetables.I ordered a veggie soup and while I’m eating it, I find chicken in it. Absolutely no go for vegetarians. In addition the soup smelled strongly.
MoreBig option of vegetables, spices & sauces to combine with your noodles or rice, its in the city centre & the prices are good, so you can visit it for a quick bite any time during the day.
MoreWe stopped for lunch and, in the end, the place was nothing special, as expected. The spring rolls were good, the noodles so and so, and the chicken in sweet-sour sauce had very few pieces of chicken and a mountain of rice and baby corns.I liked the japanese beer Asahi, a good imported product.
MoreWe ordered delivery from this shop online. Four noodle dishes, a 1+1 discount for spring rolls and shrimp chips, for a total of 37 euro.First of all, I chose the "contactless delivery" option. The delivery person is supposed to leave the food in front of the door, ring the bell and leave. What actually happened: the delivery person rang the bell and waited for me to open the door I guess. I had already paid via credit card, so no need to exchange money, but the guy gave the food to me, from his hands to mine. Its not only that: the food was very bad. The noodles were so badly cooked, so we had to cook lunch ourselves because we couldnt eat the food. The only good things were the drinks and shrimp chips, which are pre-made and sent to the restaurant.Mongo is not recommended.
MoreMongo Asian food in cosmos thessaloniki is the worst!!! Do not go there cuz youll get regretted!! Awful taste from the foods who have been there for days! The stuff is rude and they obviously have to do nothing with Asian food. They dont deserve to be open at all. Prices are high compared with the quality they offer! Never going back there never!!
MoreThe place is basically self service, the staff is kind and helpful. The sushi depends on the day you visit. I have eaten really delicious fresh sushi there, and I have also happened to eat old sushi which was obviously lacking in taste, too. I wouldnt really recommend it, as there are better options for Asian food in Thessaloniki.
MoreAwesome place in Thessaloniki if you are Asian food lover. Their chilli sauce is extremely spicy..thats why i loved it, but you can have non spicy sauce also .the noodles was good , vegetables looked fresh.their sushi was also delicious. The staff was very friendly ,and the whole place was very clean.
MoreThe portion sizes are huge here! One plate can easily fill me for a day. We ordered sushi, seaweed salad, chow mein, and udon all for about $35 Usd. We didn’t even finish 70% of the food. Do not expect authentic chinese food, but appreciate their take on it. The salmon was very fresh & nice cut.
MoreBit stressful if you dont know the place. The staff was friendly and explained us that it was self service, they also offered us an english menu since everything was in greek. The food was delicious and was prepared quickly. Best sushi Ive ever eaten.
MoreTried some sushi. Just a California roll, but it was good. Decent. Nice spot. AC. Pretty clean bathroom.
MoreNice eating at the balconi. The quality of the sushi is ok but could be better. Noodles were not that tasteful. The preparation of noodles was in time. The stuff was very helpful.
MoreVery poor value for money, even at €5,90, for a below mediocrity dish with almost no noodles! Disappointing.
MoreMongos food is absolutely amazing! Its always fresh and the prices are very good for an Asian food place. Everything in the menu is exceptional, great flavors and amazing ingredients. Honestly Ive never had something tasted and didnt like it. Every single option in the menu has its own unique flavor. The best place for Asian food in Greece!
MoreWent to try their sushi and as far as I am concerned its one of the best I ve tasted so far. It was really fresh and tasty, not sitting around all day as you may see at other places. The price was acceptable for 10 maki 4 fish (sushi for twowe paid 14 euro which, taking into consideration the freshness and taste is really fair. Waitresses were kind and helped us choose our plates by explaining what ingredients each type of sushi had.I wouldnt really go for the noodles however, which were really pricey, unless I was gonna share them with someone else and order sushi in addition for example.
MoreVery good
Normal prices, very cozy place to eat, fast service. I tried the fried rice but I found it had a bit more soy sauce than it should. Havent yet tried the sushi but it deserved a 4/5
MoreVery good noodles and many choices. We didnt wait long for two noodles. Cozy place and great atmosphere.
MoreThe prices were really good compared to the quality. I tried the curry chicken noodles and a platter of sushi. The sushi was rich, the fish and veggies inside were plenty, but the sushi is made beforehand and kept in a refrigerator so it loses some of the freshness. The noodles were fine, but the curry sauce was a bit weak.
MoreExcellent Asian noodle or rice with manyDelicious sauce choices. Great hot chilly sauce if you can handle it l!! Unique cashew salad and many beers and some wine choices.
MoreI have quite some time to taste the noodles, but as i remember there were fine, fresh and tasty. As for the sushi and sashimi which I usually order, its always yummy and super fresh. Dont ignore the sideplates some of them are exquisite you should give them a try. You can sit inside or outside if you want . Either ways its splendid. Mongo is always a very good choice when youre in the center, it wont disappoint you.
MorePretty tasty sushi with very good prices. It is worth it for the price
Used to be a lot better. Quality has degraded since last year. Its the first time ever I was served with overcooked steamed rice! How is this even possible?
MoreGreat asian street food! I prefer their sushi which is always fresh and very yummy rather than their noodles which tastes almost the same whatever the sauce you choose. I surely recommend cause its in my top 10 street food list when in Thessaloniki.
MoreTasty food, great variety of ingredients, big portions, beautiful design. A little too expensive though. You cant have it all in this life I guess
MoreValue for money! Great street food, great Asian food. The sushi is always fresh. If they try to use more fresh than frozen meat n fish they will receive the 5th star.
MoreGreat place, lovely food, great staff!
If you know your Asian food well, mongo isnt great but you will find that its very popular with the local crowd. A little pricey for quality but the prices are comparable to other Asian places in thessaloniki. Worth a visit if you are interested but do not expect proper Asian tastes
MoreGood for quick and reasonable Chinese and Japanese food. The Food Bowl Soup is awesome. Quite a meal by itself.
MoreMongo is probably the best quality to price ratio that you can get in the center of Thessaloniki for Chinese food. Sushi is terrible, but the salads, the noodles and the rice are pretty good. Service time is ok even during rush hour.
MoreTry creating your own dish by choosing vegetables and sauce and adding noodles or rice. Tastes great and is healthier than most Greek fast foods.
