I want to take the opportunity to thank Freddy in reception first of all - she was amazing. I had a nerve wrecking meeting on Monday and on Sunday morning checking in Freddy accommodated me to a quiet floor - upgrading me from studio suite to one bedroom! I was not in Miami to party but did make time to enjoy. The direct bay panoramic view was AMAZING. I am not the one to exaggerate this much without truth. Truly recommend the direct bay view. Kaylash - one of the young men working at front of hotel was really helpful too.
Staff was very friendly, room was not so great. Could not adjust AC temp in room and unit was very loud. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. No carpet in room, all tile, which may be unpleasant for some. Resort fee was not a part of what we paid when booking online, not there fault, but unexpected. For the price we paid, I’d stay elsewhere next time. Restaurant food and service was excellent.
Overall the room and hotel are nice. Upon arriving at check in we were charged $600 that we were not previously made aware of. This hotel is nice but definitely not worth an additional $600 for ‘incidentals’ The room where the ice machine was located was absolutely disgusting. They also allowed dogs at the pool?? And it wasn’t even a service animal! While I enjoyed my stay I certainly will NEVER stay here again.
I was a guest of a couple who were celebrating their anniversary for the day. We sat at the pool, waitresses were friendly but continuously ran in back to text on their phone. Service was slow. Bartender as well, very polite but very slow and ignored servicing people. At the end of the day I received my bar tab and waitress tab. Long story short is they never combined the two tabs at the bar and furthermore, they double charged my credit card. When I got home and noticed the error. I attempted to contact the bar manager or guest services. After initially speaking with guest services they put me on hold for over 20 minutes. I attempted to call back four times each time they immediately connected me to a voicemail rather than taking my call (must have called IDI finally had to go through my bank to dispute this. Guest service is definitely a one star. Also for the money you pay for a drink you think sosomeone would simply pick up the phone. Youre always forced to leave a detailed message.
Such a nice hotel. Breathtaking location however rooms are not well kept. Dirty walls. Stained couch and cushion pillows and floors and even bed frame. Some of the staff are nice and welcoming for the most part.
I’ve stayed here before and had a wonderful time so I wanted to stay again!!! This place has really changed. You can see from the pictures The room is very dirty. I didn’t want to step or touch anything. The couch and rug is worn and stained. It was foundation smeared all over the place. I found three used eyelash strips laying around. The shower is filthy. It doesn’t give a luxury vibe and it makes you immediately start checking for bed bugs. I called for house keeping several times and went to the front desk. She arrived three hours later with a dry rag that didn’t clean anything. Even after she left the eyelash was still sitting on the floor. I used Clorox wipes to get up all the foundation she left and she refused to vacuum the rug. I can also hear the person above me, absolutely nooo sound proofing. I would never stay here again. The front desk lady and the bell hop where very nice upon arrival.
I travel frequently for work and this has been one of the better hotels I’ve stayed at since Covid. A lot of 4/5 star hotels have become lax on cleaning but not this place! They manage to come and clean your room every day at some point while I’m out. I left at all different times and would come back to find it clean and tidied.Front desk was very helpful! And the valet was fantastic they’re very fast and really keep it moving out front. I usually hate mandatory valet because it takes forever but they’re super quick.Only small downside I would say it’s a very “hot spot”. Lots of liveliness which is fun if you’re into it but if you’re traveling for work a lot you may want to consider somewhere else especially if you’re there on a Fri/Sat night.TL/DR: very clean - housekeeping comes often. Valet and front desk are extremely nice, quick, and efficient.
Okay so what use to be my favorite place to stay when coming to my second home in Miami is no longer, to make it short over the past 3 visits in few months staff has changed I use to be familiar with staff these days you can’t keep up Ms Florence (manager of the front desk was very uninviting upon arrival she did not great us well she an attitude and cut me off mid conversation when I ask to speak with Ms Teresa who was well aware of my concerns with my booking prior to my arrival I was basically ignored & told by Ms Florence (manager I’m going to deal with her she’s the manager & Ms Teresa will have to come to her anyway. Friday 8/12 I received a room with non working televisions both living room and bedroom I reported to management & the following morning 8/13 I had two technicians come and try and fix them the techs could not fix the problem and reported it to management also requested for a change of my room because they said it would not be a possible to fix the televisions, I went out for the day when I return I called management Frustrated that I was still in a room with nonworking televisions .I was told I can be moved to a new room it was 2am when Someone finally came upstairs with the key to move me out of my current room to my new room ,he said I will have to move while he’s here he cannot give me my new room key . I was already in bed and said I need time to pack it’s 2 am I’m not moving right now I’ll move early morning.Sunday 8/14 there was no follow up for my new room I was so over my stay that I just remained in my current room for my checkout today 8/15 of all my 100 stays & recommendations I gave to my family & friends about the Mondrian I would never expect such poor morale from staff especially management I must say ms Teresa was such a pleasant lady to speak with before I left I had to meet her personally she was very patient, and caring about my concerns unfortunately it was not much she could do upon my departure. Overall worst experience at Mondrian I would hope for better management if I decide to visit again
Stayed here for 3 days for a birthday. So many things to say but I’ll keep it short and sweet. The staff was somewhat friendly. The views and pool make up for the filthy room. There was mold in the bathroom, on the walls and at the bottom of the shower door. I didn’t have a door sweep when it seem like everyone else did. The main entrance is spotless but the rooms are not up to par. It’s extremely Mediocre and I wished I would’ve stayed somewhere else. Dust was literally on every inch of the room. Stains and a funny smell coming from the carpet. Dirty walls, a big painting of a girl staring at me is not the most comfortable thing at night, the TV was awkwardly placed on the side instead of the middle, my curtain didn’t close completely. The sheets are super thin and was so dirty and stained. I literally had to text room service to tell them there’s mold just for them to still not clean it. There was nothing special about my stay. We had a flat top stop with no pots and pans. It’s also extremely expensive and no where near luxury. I’m so disappointed! It’s not worth your money there’s better hotels that define luxury.
Ive literally stayed at 3 star hotels that were nicer. Paint chipping on the ceiling of the showers, rusted out lighting fixtures with crystals missing, hair on the shower walls, chipped shower door bottom, old technology, badly spray painted furniture, not even an iphone plug which is why I cant post pictures because my phone died. This hotel used to be very nice but has gone WAY downhill in the years since Ive been here last. I really cant believe the difference since before the pandemic. The room felt old, dirty, and run down. Extremely disappointed. Save your money and go down to the beach side like Confidante or one of the ones near it with beach side access.
The spa is beautiful ! I went last week for a massage to relieve my aching body, my massage therapist was fantastic. She not only has great technique but also combines The massage with some stretching which greatly alleviated the soreness and made me feel refreshed. The amenities were great and the cbd green tea in the relaxation room hit the spot, tastes amazing. The spa staff was very kind and make the entire experience absolutely wonderful. Definitely I going back and highly recommend this spa.
My husband booked for our anniversary. Beautiful hotel, great staff and nice location I would definitely recommend the spa for anyone who is looking to get a nice massage and have some relaxing time either alone or as a couple. The massage therapists are amazing and take their time to listen to the requests. Front desk girl was super friendly and polite! Will definitely go again!
My husband and I stayed 4 nights. Some of the staff were welcoming. Two nights our room was not clean. We were disappointed about the bathroom shower that needs to be renovated, the balcony furniture needs to be replaced (very damaged), hallway carpet smells, and we heard things dragging from the room above us constantly. The pool, restaurant, and lobby are nice. Also, we did not expect to pay $50.00 a night for parking .
Great location and lobby is nice. Staff is very welcoming upon arrival. Rooms are tragic and in desperate need of a good cleaning and renovation. The couch in our room was so dirty and stained, I wouldn’t even sit on it. Furniture in the bedroom is damaged. There isn’t a light in the bedroom. I could go on and on. We chose the Mondrian over the Ritz Carlton because our friends were staying close by even though pricing at the Mondrian price was comparable. I’d never stay at the Mondrian again.
Really cool design and speedy valet. Beautiful pool, cool swinging circle beds. Price was very fair for the quality. Champagne welcome at under $200/night is impressive. Full kitchen in the room and very spacious.
Cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel, from the location and views, the restaurant, and to the incredible staff, especially Shannon and Victor. Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to make our stay amazing and I have never experienced a hotel full of employees who truly love to delight their guests. The food was amazing! Highly recommend their Baia restaurant with it’s stunning view of the water and ambiance. Thank you for the best experience!
This is hotel is an outright scam. The prices they charge for the rooms is actually absurd. The rooms are so low quality I wanted to vomit when entering. The rooms are ridiculously run down, and are in need of an immediate renovation BADLY. I would never ever stay here again, the rooms are TERRIBLE, and for the price outright a scam. The pool area is very nice though, but the actual building is the quality of a 1 to 2 star hotel. The funny thing is that the lobby is nice, so they try to trick you that way. Bottom line: terrible.
We stayed early April 2022 as a group of couples. It was an expensive option for us, but we booked it based on the reviews, thinking the extra investment would be worth it and... it certainly wasnt. The rooms were extremely basic, dirty and suffering outdated decor. The staff (apart from the bell boyswere miserable and pretty unhelpful with any questions or requests. The Corridors stink of sulphur/egg - suspect its the soiled carpets throughout. The food and drink was very expensive in comparison to other hotels in the vicinity, as were the day beds and sun loungers. The pool smelt of sick and at the weekend it was descended on as a pool party hotspot dragging in all sorts of unusual characters. The whole experience was very disappointing and I would recommend people take the rating with a pinch of salt. Luxury it certainly is not!!
Location was excellent and the view from our suite was priceless. Everything is a little pricey as far as food and beverages , oh and parking. They can use more pool chairs that are included within the resort fee of $45 per day in addition to room cost and taxes (many beds available for hefty additional minim price to spend $500 to $1500). To that end , they did refund one day of a resort fee. Shout out to Romeo! Great bartender with awesome customer service skills. The hotel has concierge bring things upon request in a very timely way. Overall, it was a great stay.
A really below average hotel experience.I take on board that it’s a party hotel, so was prepared for that vibe but:1The rooms have zero noise cancelling. To the point that you can hear neighbouring rooms pull their curtains and regular conversations from people walking down the hall or even in their rooms. That seems totally mad to me. Over 3 nights, got woken up at 1am, 3:30am and 4am by people coming back from parties, and the only thing the hotel offered was extra security patrol. We were also right at the end of a corridor so honestly not even close to the elevators or anything.2Poorly maintained. entrance is shiny + well maintained and the pool area beach club experience is very much the driving force of the property. The rest of the hotel including rooms + gym feel tired and almost like an after thought.3Average and overpriced F&B. I will fully accept the stunner views and exclusive vibe the Mondrian is going for means food + beverage will come at a cost but having experienced other luxury Miami hotels, the quality and service just aren’t comparable or competitive.Overall, I’ve stayed in multiple properties across Miami and I can’t recommend The Mondrian. Go, have a drink by the pool, enjoy some people watching and catch sunset… Then head somewhere else to eat and stay.
