Great history well displayed

Warmly greeted upon out arrival. This museum is free to enter so I would suggest having a voluntary donation box to help with its up keep

Its grand, you walk around and look at old stuff. Nothing too exciting

Self guided tour, spent one hour. Highly recommended

Very well put-together museum over a few small floors. Covers the Stone Age Celts right up to the present day with a special section near the end on the tension in Northern Ireland. Tons of great artifacts to view and history to learn. Clean and also has video displays.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The museum is sensibly laid out (starting with early settlers and ending with the Irish War of Independence). Good for killing an hour or so on a wet Saturday in November!

This a little gem in the town of Monaghan. Their latest exhibition was an eye-opener into a section of the towns republican history.

Very interesting, its the first time Ive ever seen a "Black and Tan" and an "Auxiliary" uniform!

Well worth the visit. Theres lots of information and historical objects from across Monaghan to see in the museum. I found the War of Independence exhibition particularly interesting with detailed information related to the county from that time period. Also its free to enter so Id certainly recommend paying a visit there.

great to see how our tax money is spent positively. this place shows history of monaghan for 5000 years. they managed to create a whole room around one event during the war regarding a spitfire!! its free in and well worth an hour.... suitable for all ages...

Great place to learn about the history of County Monaghan. It was among the first local authority funded museums to be established and has been winning awards ever since for its displays.

Free entrance! Its a small self guided tour. friendly staff too 😊

Ok but the exhibition "The Watchmen" lauds Eoin ODuffy and somehow neglects to mention that he was a Nazi sympathizer, so if they can make an oversight like that, how much of the rest of the displays are inaccurate. Apart from that the staff were very pleasant and it passed 30 minutes.
