Mona Lisa Pub in Edmonton

We love this place and we visit a few times every week since all the renovations. The staff are very accommodating for us and we always have great service. they have daily specials from their menu and the food is well prepared. If i had to put it into words it is definitely the "cheers" feeling here. I win almost everytime i play the vlts and the pool tables are well taken care of. I love the karaoke hosts because they are so down to earth and the locals always make it worth the visit.

Friendly place, working class pub with many good people. Occasionally the odd trouble maker, but good place to watch the game.

It was hot, stuffy, vlts are so squished n uncomfortable with everyone breathing on ya. Karaoke-there shld be a buzzer t let them know they r terrible or atleast turn the volume down. Very unpleasant experience. Waitresses argue with each other n can be rude. Wont be going back anytime soon...

Exellent food n drink prices . The chicken was very over cooked almost burnt on the outside but once I got through the crust of chicken the inside was not quiet as bad at least it was some what edible for $6,00 I guess I had to grin n bear it .

I did not think there was a good old school local pub near my house but am glad I tried the Mona Lisa pub after 5 years of being within walking distance. This will for sure become my local spot moving forward. Jude (I think she may be the ownerprovided quick and pleasant service. My beer was replaced as the prior one was getting close to empty. You could taste the beer lines were clean and the mugs were frosted. The food was not gourmet but at the price they charge was a good value and of high quality. The oil my chicken strips and fries were cooked in was clean and the right tempurature. They were not greasy and were very hot when they were served to me. They hit the spot and i will for sure try some other items on my next visit. Beer prices were Great and they had a good selection on draft, in bottles and cans.They had kareoke going when I was there and had a good selection of vlts and a couple of pool tables. The bar was clean and had lots of tvs.If you are looking for a great pub with good quality, affordable food, cold drinks and a good atmosphere, give the mona Lisa pub a try.

Its a great comfortable spot rate in the hood off 97th Street and 118th Ave want to sing some karaoke play the video Lottery terminal and have a drink come to this place I thoroughly enjoy it

Michelle was a vibrant, charming hostess who made us feel right at home. She also served up a d@mned fine cheeseburger! Mona Lisas is a real 118 Ave work of art!

It seemed like, unless I was a regular customer, I wasnt even noticed. The regular besided me was asked if ge needed a top up. Yet I sat drinkless. 🙄 went to vlt, which is directly beside the bar. Even sat at the first machine, waiting. Put in 20$, tryna get the waitresses attention to no avail. My 20$ was spent without a drink, so I left.

This neighborhood Pub is full of friendly people and staff. Enjoyed wings, dry ribs yummy poutine. They have a good amount of VLTS & 2 pool tables.

My favorite local hang out! The staff is amazing and its always great to run into my neighbors when Im enjoying an evening with friends.

Karaoke is fun. Some truly magnificent singers out there. Some bad, but all around good fun. They have a bar style menu consisting mostly of things fried but dont let that scare you. I love my chicken fingers and fries as much as anyone. The service is great and there are plenty of VLTs to keep you jumping and a couple of pool tables to help you relax. But I also enjoy the singing.

Unbelievable that a bartender would insult their guest due to the amount of gratuity. Especially when the guest has not even finished ordering. Perhaps it was a joke, but it was not delivered well.

Ive always liked this pub. Many vlt machines to play. Restrooms are clean and automated. The ladies that serve here are awesome, dont forget to leave a tip. Very enjoyable!

Friendly staff and up to standards with covid measures small crowd and but shady riff raff hanging around outside the pub wont be back they should have security .

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat and a beer. This place is nicely renovated and has excellent food and service! We had wings and poutine, it was fabulous.

Had a great time, met new folks and there werent too many weirdos despite location. Has newer slot machines, a jukebox and billiards for only $1.75.

Is this a members only business, seems I cannot STAND at the bar to get my own drink without being harrassed about the empty chairs that are supposedly taken ?????? So i have to ask where is a customer to stand for a drink ? End of bar by the vlt machines..post the rules and regulations for customers, do not stand at the bar, god forbid u, if u were to sit in an empty chair at the bar, thats not permitted either..how about customers have a whistle to be served a drink and no harrassment for standing at the bar with empty chairs ??? Just saying, so cheap drinks, no need to tip , the regulars do, CHEEEEEERS

It’s my favourite pub. The bartenders are really nice and karaoke is always a good time. Nice little patio too. My ex-boyfriend showed me this place but it’s mine now. He can go to Sands and stay there.

One of the best pubs on Alberta Avenue... the pub is clean, have really cool drink specials and food. Definitely recommend to to stop by here for a drink. The new owners have lifted up this place!

We came here during the day on a Tuesday and the poor waitress was all by herself amd she had to be the chef as well. We ordered the cheeseburger special with the poutine. The poutine is a large portion but the burger was lackluster. Its a processed patty with nothing it but cheese.I had seen ads for this place on Facebook and we checked it out..I dont think we will be back

I used to frequent this place years ago and it was nice and friendy and people werent soooo diferent like they are now. Anyways its nice during the day when you can sit and enjoy youself and play some music. However now I totally dislike what karaoke has done to good neighbourhood cluds to be honest with you. No I havent been there for about 2 years now just for a qwik beverage thats it.

They redecorated 6 months ago and it looks great! They have comfy bench and table seating, 2 pool tables and VLTs.  Several large t.vs and your basic fare in the menu: wings, cheese burger, poutine, donairs, & subs. Really that is it.  Canadian is their tap but they have good selection of cans.They could improve their menu BUT their clientele is great for it. I came on a tuesday, $2.50 cheese burger and yup,  it was a tasty burger - not made in house though a good quick snack. Paired it with an Irish can of Harp.Service friendly enough, though never offered me the features (meal or drinkand seemed busy when dealing with 3 customers.  I will come back and invite friends for that local Alberta Ave touch....Went back twice. Service is friendlier at night and I know a server there. They use a microwave, a lot. Too bad. They are not busy enough to warrant a cook at night so the bar uses the microwave. Lots of potential at this place. Needs a new name with an enforced new take. Needs an investment. Why are there no bands? Surrounded by a young growing neighbourhood, NAIT at a major crossing. They must own the liquor store next door to offer such lower prices. Ya, spend some $$ in the kitchen now.

I love the free wing wednesdays for the vip members, and karaoke night. The bathrooms, cud be tended to better, but when theres only 1-2 staff on i understand why . Overall good place, just alot of sketchy people

Reasonably priced with daily specials. Today I had an all beef hotdogs for 2.50. The dog was on the thinner side, but isnt mixed with cheaper meats like chicken and pork which allows for a flavor I havent been able to enjoy for years. The dog had a high fat content and nice peppering giving a nice flavorful experience. Beverages are reasonably priced with free refills on fountain sodas.The staff are nice and the locals arent annoying nor rowdy.

It was really nice and cleaned up inside. Not what I was expecting. Had a lot of fun doing karaoke with the friends. Will come back again for sure. And the drinks are definitely not expensive. Dont drink and drive

Ordered 2 chicken burgers. 50 min wait. So we get to go order then tried to charge extra for getting our food to go. Mona Lisas is a sham. If I didnt complain; our food would have taken 2 hrs. Got triple charged for 2 orders. One cancelled. Paid cash for everything. No tab. I got left overs. In a to go box. Tell me is this taking advantage of a wrkn man or what? Boo on Mona Lisas pub. No stars but forced to put 1 or my post wont be submitted.

I use to love going here but a waitress at this establishment got me and my friend got booted out because shes an instigator who starts drama then plays the victim after. She treats the patrants bad especially when she thinks shes above them. Mainly aboriginal people. I dont drink and Ive witnessed her being rude in many occasions on this occasion a aboriginal woman ordered a jug the waitress M ignored her more then 3x. All the woman wanted to know was why? Are you being ingnorent to me? M didnt have to act like that to her. I intervened and told the girl just to leave it alone bc it was obvious M wasnt going to allow her to drink there. Why did M allow her to come sit in there in the first place? I made a complaint the next day apparently this woman had a history there. But in this night M was the instigator. I went back 2 weeks after the incident. As soon as they seen me her and her crooney seen us they targeted me and told me I was bared by the boss Rez! I still have yet to hear from him??? I found out they got rid of the best waitress there to Lucy why??

They renovated recently so it looks a lot better. Depending on the cook, the food is hit or miss. They have karaoke on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (if Im correct). They have different deals for each day and a deal on game days as long as it is Edmonton playing.

Understaffed but they dealt with it well. Decent pub food for a great price. Friendly staff, colorful locals and cold beer. Will definitely be back, repeatedly.

Ill say this to the owners on oiler game days turn the music off turn the tv up it might take awhile but you will see a difference ok so to put more on my review i absolutely love the new blonde bar made

Given a two star rating for quick cold beer. Decent deals! Otherwise, this is the rougher neck of the woods. Despite new renos youll be greeted by highly intoxicated pan handlers outside and inside the door. Very uncomfortable experience. But keep in mind where this bar is located.

Most up-to-date Karaoke library I have seen. Excellent service from Margaret, who cooks as well. There was a chicken special on Wednesday night, 2 pieces of chicken with fries,5$ and half price selected wines.Corissa hosts Wednesday nights, she is awesome. The sound system is also one of the best I have ever heard, could be the high ceilings help

DONT GO !!! Got off the highway and saw this place and thought would have a snack and a drink But the Native Indian Gang spoilt that experience! The server asked them to leave and told me this is a bad part of town ! And try somewhere downtown. Leaving right away ... So avoid most definitely!In all fairness if you are comfortable with drunk native people hanging around and trying to pick a fight with you for no apparent reason then the staff was very patient and could spot the odd good customer and was extra nice and so was the Karaoke host Liz who tried her best with the few singers that just wanted to have a nice time and pretended to ignore the rowdy ones! I would never recommend anyone to go there.

Welcome to Bartertown! Just kidding. Now you may feel like you are in the Mad Max universe, but sometimes that is a good thing. As long as you have enough petrol and money for food and drink, you will be ok.The Good: The service and the food. The donairs are excellent and very fairly priced. Lots of sports being played and it seems they are offering the game day specials, much more than they did last year. The updated decor is nice, but it is sad that the poetic verse scrawled and the mens bathroom wall was removed. This was hillarious!The Bad: They charge for designated driver pops, which they shouldnt. They also charge for pop refills, which is unheard of in most places. Also no free refill on beer if glass breaks, so that was disappointing.The Ugly: Sometimes the occasional gambling addict will ask the patrons for money, so not a big fan of the VLTs. The occasional wandering lady of the evening will wander in, so not really a place for a date night with the wife or girlfriend or goomah.So all in all a good place when they have their game day specials. But dont expect the Ritz or Ruth Chris.

We are working very hard to make this a go to location. Currently under renovations which include new floors, new bathrooms, and a new bar. We will be adding more draft beer in the future as well as our already popular daily food and shooter specials. Anyone who came here and had a negative experience should come back and give us another chance. :)
