Besides Korean fried chicken, this comfy eatery with patio tables serves stews, bulgogi & bibimbop.
Absolutely the best Korean chicken!! Also, the bibimbap and jjamppong are excellent. The food service was good and the server was friendly.
They no longer do all-you-can-eat.
I ate a cores soup. It was delicious 😋
Walked in the resto for the first time and decided to give it a try. Food was surprisingly good! Especially rice cake skewer and tteokbokki were amazing!
Hello, This is a restaurant that has been selling a la carte items for a long time. They have been selling alcohol directly since Corona.
My friend and I werent supposed to come here at first we just happen to have a reservation bad luck from another restaurant near by BUT in all honesty, I think I much preferred being here. The staff were SUPER nice and friendly along with the cook being extremely sweet and understanding when I accidentally forgot to mention my allergy. I obviously suggest you have a high spice tolerance for some of the dishes but it didnt stop me from enjoying the food still!
Not as good as before. Chicken and customers services need work
I think it’s alright. The food was good, I liked the addition of the dukbokki. However, I do think that the food is too expensive for what it is. I expected more shrimps and seafood in the pancake since it was 20$. The chicken was 30$ but I expected way more. It was barely enough for 2 people. I would recommend the regular bone-in chicken next time.
Best fry chicken since day one!
Its Family place to go. They have baby chair. The food is not that expensive, remember we are in 2022. The food is delicious. The service is great. Once you received your food they will come back and check you if everything is ok, not every staff will care and ask.Parking is on the side walk.Let the staff know if you have food allergies.
The price is too much the crispy chicken is very small and over cooked hard and not juicy for the 30$ plus tax I will pay 30$ for chicken if its worth it.
I dined here the other day and had a terrible experience. The meat was stale, the cured meat was tasteless, and the waiters were not very friendly.
I live near the restaurant I was a fixed customer, but my last visit has changed my perspective, I never return to this restaurant, mediocre service and prices are excessively expensive for what they offer, Good Luck, and I am glad I had this experience, I found another Korean restaurant nearby much better than this, with a better atmosphere and excellent service! AU REVOIR MON AMI!
Soooo, the service here is kind of awful. But the fried chicken is so good. I also love the potato noodles. Skip the dumplings and the sushi, it’s kind of just ok. Bibimbap is solid and super reliable. If it’s possible to ignore the service it’s really great. I go about every four or five months because I think the food they do right is so worthwhile.
We decided to pass by here for dinner. We were the only ones here on a Thursday night. Ordered Kim Chi fried rice, chiken cheese and a ramen. The fried rice was burnt on the bottom, when I go mention to the waitress, saying: oh the fried rice… she automatically said: oh the fried rice is burnt? Meaning that she already knew it was burnt but still decided to serve it to us. Which is quite disappointing. The chicken cheese was a bit overpriced for the quantity given. Sadly, we will not be coming back here
I love this place so much. The pickled veggie appetizers! The Kimchi stew! The fried chicken! Its authentic Korean cuisine made well.
Ordered from Uber eat half chicken (5 small piecesfor 30$ and it doesn’t look freshly fried had to heat up in oven.. (I live 15min away front this restaurantit took legit 30 min to delivered.. I know it’s fast delivery but is it fresh ?
Im a fan of Korean-style fried chicken, which is well-done here. I really should try something else, but they make it too good! What I really appreciate is the specially-designed containers which keeps the chicken crispy. Service is efficient as well.
Ordered some fried rice and dumplings. It was delicious! The proportion were just enough, not too much or too little. And the person who made my order took the time to let a kind message on the paper bag, which I sincerely appreciated! I’d happily recommend this restaurant and we’ll order again in the future!
Its worth it if its your first time trying Mon Ami !The price is not bad and the food is really good looking and tasty. Small restaurant has lineups !
Our new favorite Korean fried chicken spot - it has become sort of a weekly routine for us to hit up Mon Ami for the garlic soy chicken and more! The Jjamppong (seafood noodle soupis one of our favorites too. Great service!
My favorite place for Korean food! I love it so much I always make the drive from the East end to come eat here, even though there are other MonAmi restaurants that are closer. Their fried chicken is my personal favorite.
Best Korean fried chicken Ive ever had hands down. Very crispy, juicy and delicious. I prefer the soy garlic chicken over the original, just because of the sweet and savoury sauce so thats definitely a recommended dish. The seafood pancake is perfectly crisp and has a good seafood to batter ratio. The rice cakes and ramen are quite good as well, although fairly spicy. So beware if you arent able to handle the heat. The dumplings and kimchi fried rice were ok.
The food was pretty great but the service was average. I didn’t receive half of my orders and had to remind them. Overall it was an alright experience
Theres a nice homey feel to this place. Service is fast, the employees clean your grill without you have to ask. Food and soft drinks here is all-you-can-eat. Theres even juice box. Food here overall is good! But the spicy pork (not supposed to be sweet, according to the menuis a bit too sweet for my taste. The other meats are good. I highly recommend eating everything wrapped in lettuce with a bit of samjang (korean spicy paste), instead of rice. Its so much better, plus the lettuce is also all-you-can-eat here!! I enjoyed my meal here. Would come again.
This place was my go to on so many Friday night outings.Bring your own beer or wine.Great food - especially the Korean fried chicken and Bibimbap. The menu to get the free starters is a little confusing and some of the servers are reluctant to load your table. But that was getting better.Nice atmosphere - at the time very busy - only restaurant I have seen turn over tables 3 times during my stay - wait - eat - pay. It is not too big - but still - 3 turnovers at supper is a restaurant owners dream, the dishwasher not so much. But as all restaurants do - they started tweaking the plates that made them so popular - suddenly charging for meat in Bibimbap (bad move), chef change (not good), opening a franchise 2 blocks away (not smart). Opening many other franchises (good move). Messing with the fried chicken recipe (another faux pas). When a place gets busy - you never mess with the food - we are all there for the food - all you can do is raise prices across the board - never cut portions - absolutely never cut portions and raise prices. Lastly if you want to commit restaurant suicide - never do all 3 - mess with prices and recipes and portions. We have not be back since - it really saddens me. Maybe they fixed things after business declined. BUT absolutely the best Fried Chicken in town when they are doing it like they once did - No competition. Now - its not a fancy place - its a food place - when empty would think you were in a St.Leonard Italian Café - if it were not for the sexy Korean music videos going all the time on the giant screen. You need to try it - at this location. King can beers available next door at the dépanneur or SAQ across the street.
Very excellent!! All are kind and all food is delicious. reasonable price and good food. I strongly recommend!!
The restaurant is clean and service was quick. The food is delicious, the fried chicken and pancakes are my favourite. The bbq is also good. The prices are in the average for this type of restaurant.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The service is very friendly, and fast. The food is excellent and prices very reasonable. We had fried chicken (awesome!), pork dumplings and the kimchee stew. My wife and I have gone there many times and we have always been very satisfied.
I love this Korean restaurant. Its bring your own beer and there is a couche tard nearby. Theres the fish cake soup which tasted awesome, the pork leg which was also like classical Chinese pork leg and the fried chicken. This is the restaurant that helped Korean fried chicken exist in Montreal.
Hands down some of the best fried chicken Ive ever had. The restaurant is exceptionally accomadating to small children. They have high chairs and plastic tableware just for them. They are very friendly with the kids and kind and understanding about the mess left behind. Anyone with kids will understand how important it is to be tolerant about the mess... lol
Great chicken different varieties. Get the bowl to boot. Bring your own wine. Great staff, bumping kpop. You couldnt possibly have a bad time
The food was so good and comforting that we went twice in a row. It’s an awesome BYOB. We fell in love with this place and with the staff who put on Korean Pop for us to listen and explained who each boy band/performer was. Thank you for your kindness and great food!
This place serves frozen meat and very low quality food. For an AYCE costing $22, you cant ask for much but I found that the food was beyond sub par. The fried chicken was dry and the bibimbap had mushy rice. I loved the service though.
Food and prices are very good as well as the all you can drink soda if youre into that. I did find it lacking vegetable options for the grill but otherwise the barbecue as well as the fried chicken and other items are excellent. One weird thing when I went the waitress once in a while would grill the food for me which I find kind of weird since that has never happened at a Korean barbecue. Please note you have to leave before 2 hours and they do not take any more customers after 8:30 since its kitchen closes at 9:30
Careful not to mix this place with the same franchise Mon Ami korean bbq on the same street just a few block from there. This one is a korean à la carte restaurant. I would recommend at least to try one of their fried chichen which are very crispy (sold half or full chicken). Not much in terms of vegetables in the menu itself other tyan the free side dishes.
Best. Chicken. Anywhere. Assuming you like the iconic crunch and spice of Korean-style fried chicken. Their whole menu is honestly crazy delicious and is truly authentic. Come with an empty stomach and some friends, I promise you wont regret trying this place out!
This restaurant is amazing!!!! Everything was perfect! And staff was so quick and friendly. Best Korean BBQ in Montreal for sure ! And its all you can eat ! Amazing !!!!!
Cant ask for much more. They have chicken. Big juicy golden brown chicken that tastes as good as it looks. They have soups, noodles, beef and of course chicken. Nice people. Large portions, interesting decor. I love the ongoing digital sign that displays the menu and showcases particular menu items.
Amaaaaazing. Great food. Went there with 5 friends and it was awesome. The meat was very nicely marinated and tasted great. Service was a bit slow and there wasn’t even that many people. Our seafood pancake never came, which is a bit sad. Pretty good value. Eat until you burst!
The garlic soy fried chicken is delicious. The garlic is really potent, which we love. Friendly service. But I must say in my opinion Le Kbob, which is just a couple of blocks away, makes better fried chicken--theirs is even crispier and more flavourful, and the decor is much nicer. But Mon Ami is solid!
With quality meats and Korean alcohol, You can try REAL Korean Bbq there!
We went there with a few of my friends and really liked the atmosphere and the quality of food there. When we arrived, they cleaned our table and mopped the floor.PROS: The staff was friendly and always available for questions or give them our orders. The meat were well seasoned and tasty. Theres all you eat meat and drink. Side dishes were also nicely fermented!CONS: I wouldnt order their fried chicken as it doesnt seem to be their specialty. Also, I didnt like the korean pancake. I would definitely try these if they made improvements to it.I will definitely come back (:
Best all you can eat Korean BBQ. Not only BBQ, so many choices of Korean food. Definitely will go back .
Their fried chicken will make you dream day and night about it. The batter is crispy, perfectly seasoned and light. The meat is juicy and are always served smoking hot. Do get the garlic soy sauce, a well balanced sweetened sauce with a good garlic punch that brings your chicken to another level. The banchan dishes they give at the beginning varies and adds freshness to your fried chicken meal. The service is fast but there is often a long wait. Also, they do specialize in the chicken, i am personally not a fan of the other dishes. And this original location serves tastier chicken than the one downtown.
Went for a birthday party with friends. We all had a fun time and enjoyed the food. Order less than you think because you will pay extra for what is not eaten. Also keep track of what you order. Some times were given another tables dish accidentally. Enjoy!
Food was amazing. Great dinning experience. Staff was so nice. Love the grill on the table. Korean beef ribs were so good. Definitely will be going soon!
Great variety in food and K-pop on the TV screen. The staff is Korean and super friendly. Ive been here over 10 times now and have always had a great experience. The fried chicken, gimbap and fried seafood pancakes are my favourites. Visit this place early because there can be lines (6pm is a good time, 7pm is super busy and a bit chaotic).
Very good food and super service. Was recommended to me while I was on a work trip. When I got there I picked the chicken since its kind of their thing, the kimchi and pork stew and some of the sushi. Sushi was good, but nothing super fancy for the choice I ordered. If I was with people itd be a good shared app. The chicken was on point too... I thought it had a good flavour and wasnt nearly as greasy as KFC like back in the States. The star of the show to me was the stew... Holy lord Id have eaten three bowls if I had room...definitely worth a try.
Yummy Korean fried chicken! I lived 2 years in Korea and this place tastes a lot like a restaurant I go to in Seoul.
