Momo House in Reading

Delicious food. I’ve had take away from here many times but ate In yesterday and was very happy! Try the chilli paneer starter. It was yum.

Rude behavior just because we ordered our starters twice. He said we should order our food together otherwise they cannot manage. Another comment was that "you are here for the whole night".. whenever we have come here we have always been jolly with the staff but somehow they think that we cannot enjoy whilst have food and drinks with our friends. Waited for our biryani for more than 25+ mins but no one came to say why there was a delay as well as no one was bothered to even ask us for a drink...I think this will be my groups last visit to this place..

Ordered food via deliveroo. After waiting 1hr 20 minutes I attempt to call the restaurant to find out why the order is taking so long. After 30 attempts to try and get through, someone finally answers and upon asking why the food order hasnt arrived, I was told their oven was broken! They did not have the courtesy to even call me to let me know and they were still taking orders on deliveroo despite this issue!I was then told to wait 20 minutes and the driver would turn up...30 minutes passed, nothing arrived. Phoned again and was told to wait another 30 minutes wait for the driver! Terrible service. Would not recommend for delivery at allExpected me to wait over 2 hours for a takeaway and totally ruined the evening.

A place Id love to visit again someday! Ive been here twice, while staying at a friends place in Caversham. Everything was great, the food was carefully cooked and very flavourful, and the owner is very friendly and always up for suggestions and recommendations. It was the first time I ever tried the panipuri and I absolutely loved it! If you ever find yourself around Reading, Id more than recommend to dine here!

Amazing Resturant and a hidden gem. I only found out as my Doter was here with her partner last year. Most impressed with the veggie momos, veggie and vegan foods and the thali was awesome. Highly recommend this place to all for fantastic service and quality of the foods. Most amazing experience for dinner with my family here.

Well you just have to try this gem of a restaurant, absolutely first class. I had the Biryani and it was amazing. So different to how you normally get this was other places, tasted beautiful along with everything else. The service was great and the owner came and chatted with us as with everyone else. Such great service and food from this gem of a place and we shall come again most definitely. We came tonight with our friends who recommended this place, so glad we came.

This evening celebrated my son’s 18th birthday at Momo House. The food was delicious and they could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Definitely recommend. We will be back. Thank you❤️

I went there for dinner. I ordered food they almost took 30-45 minutes to arrive. And the chicken which we got for chicken thali was same like indian curry not like nepalese curry. It was just boiled chicken put in curry sauce i believe . It was like raw. I didn’t like that amount of food either they give only saag, daal and chicken and 5 spoon of rice. Everything was just 4 spoon maybe too small amount . Can you imagine. Never Never again. Chawmein was not really like nepalese taste it was more like chinese taste. Nepali lai vanda badi gorey harulai focus garera banako cha khana haaru no spice nothing. Atleast alik twakka piro hunu ni hamro lagi ta. Alik fried hos chicken pani.

Definitely a hidden eatery treasure tucked away in one lower corner of Caversham providing good service, great ambience, quality delicious Nepalese cuisine and an excellent value for money.The menu offers a vast choice and there’s no so called service charge as is now a norm for almost anywhere you eat in.They also provide Deliveroo and Just Eat service.Priya was helpful, knowledgeable and very welcoming.

Momos are good and not frozen, but they do that old trick shoddy low rate indian places of bringing you pickles woth popodom and charging for 2 people without letting me know first. Moody staff just in it for the money. They could have had a regular but I never visit a place that does that twice.

I eat there at least once a week. I usually order new random dishes everytime and it never fails me. probably my favourite restautant in Reading. hidden gem.

Having read positive reviews about the place, we decided to walk from the Reading City Center to the Momo house. It’s about a 50 minute walk and at various points of time, makes you wonder if you have got the directions wrong since the restaurant is in the middle of a purely residential area. It is part of a semi run down complex with 2 or 3 other occupants. The first thing we noticed when we reached the restaurant is how peaceful and serene the place was thanks to its location.The place is small and cozy and gives you a very warm vibe. I’m guessing the restaurant has its local regulars since the guests dining there all seemed to know the owner. Going with the name- we ordered the vegetarian Momos and a nepalese thali. The Momos were delicious with the right thickness of the wrapper and perfect balance of filling. Unlike other vegetarian momos which are normally filled with excessive cabbage, these had broccoli and paneer and you can feel the freshness in the bite. The thali came with a soft fluffy mini naan, dal, mixed vegetable, chicken curry and rice. Everything tasted good, but the dal stood out. The portions are limited and the extra bread we ordered was chargeable. Although slightly on the higher side in terms of prices, the food is delicious and the place itself is beautiful.

Great little local restaurant in Farnham Drive serving the Caversham Park Village community. Fantastic authentic Nepali and Indian food - the lamb or pork momos are the best! The mixed BBQ platter is also fantastic, as are their special fried rice and garlic naan. They have a Monday-Wednesday deal which is great value for money - any starter+main+rice/naan for £12.95! :O

Very friendly owner who was delighted to see our friends back. Dont be put off that the restaurant is situated in a run down shopping area in CPV. Food is excellent, tasty and voluminous portions. Pigged out on the set price 2 course menu. It was full of people who regularly go there and they all seemed to know each other.

Absolutely delicious takeaway from Momo house this evening. We had the momo starters, lamb Sherpa, rice, okra and paratha and everything was amazing - would especially recommend the vegetarian momo and lamb sherpa. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Momos has been our go-to throughout lockdown for our Asian takeaways. Great North Indian food with Nepalese twist. We love it. Nowhere else nearby can do such a great Aloo Papdi Chaat and Samosa Chaat. And delivery times have always been spot on. Never late, always on time, sometimes even a little early. Always a friendly, smiling delivery. Cant wait to visit the restaurant in person after this pandemic is over.

Ordered via just eat, and I must say that the food was excellent! True to their name, the momos were brilliant, along with other starters - Choila & Chicken 65. Special shout out to the chicken fried rice as that was absolutely yum! Really good portions and good value for money. The person who delivered our food was very courteous and carried out a perfect contact free delivery. Will definitely be ordering again. P.S thank you for the additional pappadams & mango chutney :)

Have lived in India for the last 10 years, travelled extensively in Nepal. Married to an Indian. This is hands down the worst food I’ve had in my life. Authenticity level 0. Taste and quality 0. Don’t bother. Absolutely horrific. Please check my other reviews for authenticity.

Absolutely delicious authentic Nepalese food and attentive, professional service. The food was extremely flavourful. Between us we had the King Prawn Biriani (cooked in a traditional bread crust and potwith generous amounts of king prawn, a vegetable and pork serving of Momo and a vegetable Thukpa. There was so much left over that we had plenty for lunch the next day. The total came to £45 including poppadoms and two drinks each. Highly recommend you eat here, particularly now when many restaurants need the support. Also to add, their Covid guidelines were thorough, we felt very safe.

Its my comfort food. I love the seafood starters and the lamb mains. Always great service from all staff. Cant wait to go back when we can.

My go to for takeaway, I usualy order every week or so as our treat and always look forward to it. Food is always delicious and hot, is always on time and all of the staff are fantastic!Tonight highlights this for me as my favourite dish is the veggie momos and once my order was placed via app then called me within minuites to inform me that they were out of veggie ones but were more than happy to make a fresh batch but wanted to let me know it may take a little longer than usual (it took no more than 45 minsand when they arrived they were just as perfect as always!I cant praise them enough, 10/10!

Chose this place for a take away based on the reviews on Google. Really wish I hadnt. Either we were unlucky or people who eat here have bad taste. It was really poor quality, easily the worst curry Ive ever had in Reading. If I was eating in the restaurant I definitely would have asked for a refund. Avoid this place if possible.

Had dinner delivered here on a couple of occasions as I am a huge fan of Nepalese cuisine and have to say the food is remarkable here. Ordered last night and even the service from the gentleman who delivered was wonderful!! Definately becoming our go-to takeaway!

Have been ordering from Momo for years now and their service and quality of food has always been high and consistent, reasonably priced and very quick to deliver.Had a meal in here recently, the food as expected was hot & delicious & the service was very friendly, helpful, fast and courteous. Very clean restaurant with air conditioning.

Really friendly welcome- always a great start. Decor is fresh and crisp with a lovely ambience and tasteful background music. Service is outstanding. Hot plates and food is fresh and spiced to perfection. Good value for money as well. Plenty of car parking.

Great little place. Noisy! Saturday night it was packed and service was slightly slow, but apart from that all the food was hot and delicious. Waitor slightly clumsy with dripping water down the back of the seats. Avaliable on just eat, so brilliant open for take-away.

The food is absolutely delicious here. It’s a real shame the place lacks atmosphere, they could really do with dimming the lights, adding a porch so that the external door doesn’t open directly onto the restaurant floor. Clearly the owners have a lot of passion for the place, it’s a shame this isn’t reflected in the decor. It has huge potential, but the interior and exterior let it down. We will keep returning as the food is fantastic, but hope the management will consider adding candles and flowers to the tables, tablecloths, and dimming the lighting to give a more atmospheric feel.

The food was nice. But the only disappointment was that the name being Momo house the dish was not available. Chilli paneer was good. There was a long wait between ordering the food and getting the food.

Genuinely phenomenal curry, and we do love us some curry. Extremely accomodating staff as well. we werent drinking but they made it clear could BYOB. Nice simple atmosphere as well. Will definitely order in and go there again.

Lovely place with parking. Great deal for Monday to Wednesday. Wide range of dishes. Delicious and filling, great value for money. Very friendly staff.

Fantastic food! If I dont feel like cooking I would either choose to eat at Momos or house of flavours. I usually opt for the Himalaya Momo House because its better value for money. They have a week day special offer which is irresistible :)
