Momiji Sushi & Hibachi in Pendleton
Description
Privilege
Service was very courteous and helpful. Sushi was great!
Had the all you can eat, it was great! Visiting Salem and wanted sushi, this place is the best!
MoreWaiter was prompt friendly and very attentive, making sure that customers have a pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean and smelled fantabulous. They have amazing soup and spring rolls. On top of all this, Offering a free authentic Asian green tea, while you wait on the sushi rolls to be prepared.
MoreThe parking sucked. The place was not wheelchair accessible. The staff was okay. The food was mostly cucumbers. I will not return to this location.
MoreThis place is fantastic! Cozy and clean atmosphere, friendly staff, and outstanding food! 🍣! I lean towards traditional nigiri and rolls, while their menu is a little heavy with modern styles. Im not a huge fan of all the sauces drizzled on top, but the fish 🐟 is fresh and delicious, so thats what counts!
MoreGood prices. Sushi is decent. Wasabi is not very good. Location was confusing.
From the outside it looks kinda sus, but trust me: its the best sushi joint in Salem. My favorite rolls are the premium salmon, volcano, and miso sexy. 🤤
MoreI Door Dashed here at this location. Three times. Every time the lady with glasses is rude and throws the customers bag on the counter instead of handing it to me. Maybe have someone else take the orders?
MoreI am not a fan of sushi WHATSOEVER!!!But this place did not make me want to lose my lunch so that’s got to be a plus!!The waitress was very knowledgeable. The place was tucked away and well worth finding it. There was a large selection of sushi and fish toppings for it.The meso sexy and other great names for dishes. It was worth the trip and I swore I would never go to a sushi place again.
MoreBest sushi ever!! Mine n my hubbys favorite n always will be since the first one he took me too 😘 I love you Adam Sagmoen
MoreFresh sushi with great flavors. Perfect bite size for us. Our kids love their miso soup, dumplings and dragon roll. I have tried sushi at different momiji locations. This location is my favorite.
MoreBest sushi in town. Small venue, but the fish is fresh and they have AYCE! Love coming here!
MoreGreat brunch. Enjoyed the food. Will be back next time I am in town!
My favorite location! Always greeted with kindness, great staff & great sushi! Love that they offer gluten free options 🤍🍣
MoreGreat as always. Havent been in a few years. Sushi was amazing, quick service, reasonably priced. Will go anytime Im in town. 👍
MoreVery unassuming and was honestly surprised when a friend suggested it. Amazing sushi! Like, absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredible also!
MoreI love their drive through window and their sushi! But their online ordering platform could use some improvement.
MoreIts a great little shop. In Salem, you can always count this or the other locations to put down a quality piece of fish. Service is always on point and they are very fair in pricing
MoreThe sushi was yummy. I had vegetarian rolls and crispy spring rolls. Green tea is complimentary. My family enjoyed their regular sushi rolls. They also didnt rush us to get out. So we had plenty of time to chat with a friend we were visiting. If we visit Salem again, we will be back!
MoreThey have the best roll from any sushi place Ive went to. Hits the spot every time. The honeybee roll and especially when they take the time to put the little pieces of mango on top.
MoreSushi rolls were ok, could eat again. The issues are more due to the limited menu (mostly sushi, no teriyaki bowls like the downtown locationsand how small & quickly crowded it gets. The drive thru feature seems like a nice option, but when there is a line & youre trying to pull out from an already small parking lot; not so fun.
MoreThis place has great vegan and vegetarian options. While we usually dine in this time, we chose the drive-through.. We were able to place our order, and after a very short wait, our delicious sushi was in our hands.
MoreFood is delicious but going thru the drive thru they take about 20+ mins for food to be ready and they text you when its read. Kind of inconvenient, had to wait until I received the text to pick up order. But the rolls are delicious nonetheless.
MoreThis momijis location has the lowest quality and smallest portions. The salem roll was literally 90% rice. some of the pieces I had trouble spotting the avocado and cream cheese. If you have the ability visit the south salem location instead.
MoreGreat service and delicious food.Sometimes size of the roll is just too small. As you can see in the pic. Its less than an inch.
MoreMy husband and I dined in and ordered the Momiji Sampler, which came with a rainbow roll, a shrimp roll, blackened salmon, and some nigiri. We came here with high hopes because the restaurant on Commercial was AMAZING (definitely recommend), but the sushi here looked left out and it tasted weird. In my husbands eyes, he disliked every bit of the experience. Weve had better store bought sushi. The sampler was terrible, but the firecracker roll (I believe its called), was okay. It was a tempura roll with some sweet chili sauce. Unfortunately, we wont be coming here again and I would not recommend this location to anyone.
MoreOrdered through grubhub, no issues there. But I specifically took my side order of miso off because it was supposed to come with the katsu - they forgot it. And WHY would you pack a cucumber salad in the same container as HOT katsu?Oregon roll was delicious but OH MY GOSH how can you even fit the Spider in your mouth?! Fell apart just trying to dip it in soy sauce.Had to straight up spit out the steamed potstickers. I LOVE potstickers and these were cold, mushy, and absolutely disgusting. At least the sushi was edible. Honestly would not order to go again considering all the issues.
Moreservice was great food was just as good. glad we stopped in. went in on a Tuesday the place was way busy (endless cars and orders at drive througheven with it being extremely buisy servers still managed to come by often to check on us. sushi took a bit but was worth the wait. with several bottles of saki and great conversations time went by quickly. would love to come back if im ever back in Oregon.
MoreMomiji is an excellent sushi restaurant in a convenient location on Silverton Road. We recently got a takeout feast from here and shared it with family. The sushi is really excellent. They have a limited menu of non-sushi items, but the chicken katsu is also great. I see they also deliver, which is a great asset in the Salem area. Ive been coming here for a decade and will definitely be back again!
MoreIt was delicious! Although we had to wait a while, the wait was worth it! The menus are online though, but its nice since we are still on the pandemic. To access the menus you gotta scan the barcode that they give you, and youll be set! Dessert consists of crepes and so many of other choices! Only complain is that theres not much space, but not many people visit it, so that makes up for lack of space
MoreBusy.During covid only 3 tables were open.Id say took a bit too long to get our food. There was a lot of orders through online.Price for portion 4/5Parking 5/5Overall price 4/5Seating 2/5Selection 5/5Would I go here again? Probably not, but thats because its an hour drive for me.Would I recommend this place? Yes
MoreLove this place!!!.....but the youth at the drive thru are ill mannered. Customer service is key being the face and reputation of the business to Patrons. I will be vlogging my experiences to share with the public stay tuned. Channel up soon.
MoreBeen going here since I was 7. Went in person, everyone was very nice and cordial. Got my order quite quickly. (lunch combo; salem + eel roll, seaweed salad, miso soup and mango mochi {separate from lunch combo}). Momijis never disappoints!!
MoreUpdated 5/7:They remade the order as promised. Very little real crab laced in. Sadly, nothing like it was before. Not sure if thats how they run business now or if it depends on the chef. It was consistently great before as Ive ordered it at least 5-6 times.Updated review on 3/13/2021:Normally I love their North Bend roll, I get that every time. I love that they use real crab meat and thats the reason I pick this roll. I even gave them a glowing review for this before.. It was all good until last time I got some. Its all imitation crab. I moved the stuff off the top to double check they didnt make it different than normal (normally the real crab is on top). Nope, no crab meat anywhere. Super disappointed. It was basically a Californiaroll but I paid more for it. Im not sure that I will be ordering this again...Original review from 5/5/2019:Always amazing. Love their North Bend roll. Thats the best one if you love real crab. Very good sushi. Highly recommended. The sushi on the white plate is from original review, which has real crab. The other 3 pictures are from the recent order. Im sure you can tell the difference.
MoreOh My Gosh. I was honestly not expecting much considering the location but this was hands down the best sushi/Nigiri I have ever had. And I am at a sushi restaurant at least 3x a month... highly recommend the Spicy Scallop Nigiri and the Octopus Salad was top notch. Blackened Ahi Tuna was great and had a beautiful presentation.
MoreIve been eating here since it opened. It started off with near perfect food and service then I feel it took a bit of a fall as the original crew slowly left, but they seem to have got it back together. I was very happy with our food and service tonight and will continue to eat here as much as I can justify.
MoreGood food and excellent deal with the ayce sushi. Go hungry. Dont fill up on rolls. Lol.
MoreThis sushi house was very good. I found my palette satisfied and overall very welcoming. Service and the environment were great! I came into the 11:00 am buffet. It costs at around $30 per adult and has an unlimited amount of rounds. But for each round you are limited to 6 dishes. Each dish came out timely and beautifully. The food was amazing and I appreciated being able to choose and eat almost anything I wanted. Would definately reccomend coming here in pairs or a group.
MoreI have eaten here several times over the last 6 years. Usually very pleased with the quality of food received. Except for yesterday I felt like maybe the person who made my food was new? I will post a photo. There is so little ingredients in my sushi roll that there is actually an extra amount of rice rolled inside the seaweed to make the roll "normal" sized.
MoreLove this place! Never disappointed except for once when we couldnt find parking and had to go elsewhere.
MoreI started with misa soup and ended with banana delight with some vegetable rolls or name it sushi all the menu were tasty and the orderd menu were supplied to the table at a reasonable time. The restaurant is clean and the staffs behavior is very good
MoreThe service was great and so was the sushi
Weve almost always enjoyed our visits here. The sushi is incredibly high quality for the reasonable prices (especially during the nigiri and maki happy hours!), the servers are always friendly and polite, they give you a free crêpe on your birthday, and the crêpes themselves are delicious. Parking can be dodgy and lately the service has become quite slow, so I hope that improves, but this remains our favorite sushi spot anywhere.
MoreYummy sushi and they have a drive thru! I recomend ordering ahead over the phone if you dont wanna get out of the car. Friendly staff and cozy booths! I got the bumblebee and spinal tap. Both are delicious!
MoreAbsolutely the best & deliciously authentic! Definitely at the top of the finest sushi I have ever Eaten. Even the hot tea was amazing! Its a must-try, best in Oregon! Be prepared to wait in line for a while because its a very popular place. It was packed and we had to wait about an hour for a table. I will say It was completely worth it in the end. If youd like to try your luck at some Video Lottery they have a room for it there. I didnt play this time, but hey it can pass the time while you wait.
MoreIve always had the best service and sushi here. Love this place!
It is worth noting that by there are actually two separate Momiji chains(same family, different chains), one is the commercial & Albany stores, and the other is the stores that stems from the Silverton Road store(those include the Monmouth, North Bend stores, & new West Salem store), they are quite night and day in their approach to Sushi and dining. I have eaten at both several times, and there is truly no comparison. I live 2 blocks from the South Momijis and I drive to the Silverton Road one, that should tell you something, if not, Google Map it.This place is definitely a dive in the best way possible, as with most dives, the biggest downside would be the limited seating which makes it a good place for 1-4 people, more than that and its probably not going to work, unless the sushi bar is totally empty and you can all sit there(not likely), but they also do takeout, delivery, and drive thru as well, so those are good options. We typically come here as often as possible for the last 5yrs. Though obviously thats not all of the time, money constraints lol. I have never had a bad experience at Silverton Road, which is saying a lot for a place this small, and a place I frequent, the only other pace I consistently have had great service at in town(I grew up hereis Whites or the Kondetori , and those are old diners, totally different. I eat sushi all over the US, anywhere that I go, and I travel a lot, I havent been to a place that has as consistent service, great food on the whole, and has a good overall feel to the place, outside of Oreganos, which is an Arizona Pizza Bistro chain.Momijis Silverton Road also typically have good deals throughout the week, they also have All You Can Eat Sushi, if you have 2 or more in your party, and the rules are reasonable, you must finish 75% of your food before ordering another round(there are a couple more as well, pay attention). I recommend, if you want to try a lot of stuff on the menu, and youre very hungry, its a good option. Otherwise, there are usually good specials, and on the whole the menu is very well-balanced price-wise.I have tried a majority of the rolls on the menu, and while I may not like everything, its a matter of personal taste, not quality. Momijis is well known for their Salem Roll theyre the original, but Im just not a cream cheese person, everyone else I know loves it, and theirs is, by far the best of all the other Salem sushi bar versions Ive tried. My personal favorite rolls are Ocean Bounty because it really is just a sea food roll and I love sea food, Spinal Tap it is, to be the best balanced fried roll out there and Im not a huge fan of fried rolls, and The Double Sexy for its overall balance of flavors. The avocado boat and sushi tower are also two of my favorite things to get outside of regular sushi. It is also worth mentioning that they will do low rice on any roll you order if you ask, thats not something I can think of any other sushi bar doing, its a nice option to have. While every visit may not be stellar(a visit a couple of months ago had an unreasonable wait time for food after we ordered, but that has only happened that one time), it is never mediocre, the food is always great, the ambience is good, and the staff are usually friendly and helpful. If you dont mind little hole in the walls type places with cramped quarters, and you like good sushi, I see no reason to not come here. Otherwise, you may want to steer clear if youre claustrophobic(though I was highly claustrophobic and was okay).God Bless ~Amy
MoreCasual goodness. The owner is super laid back and the staff echos this vibe. This is a small joint with a To-Go window - quirky and fun. Sashimi was fresh and volcano app plentiful in volume. Overall, pretty solid find and an easy vouch.
MoreWhere to eat when you dont want to eat with your parents; Lively little crowd. Efficient staff. Looks like your going to the bad side of the night driving out there, and when you pull up it looks like it could have been an adult arcade at one time....but the sushi is good. One of the better places in the area. Dont let the condition of the building steer you away.
MoreI came here because I saw sushi AND crepes... great combo. I could sit and eat the mini salmon rolls all day. I had the "my favorite" crepe and it was fantastic. I will definitely come back when I am in the area.Very minimal seating and it got crowded around 5.
