Momento Restaurant in West Milford

No hospitality from rude waiter and the level of attentiveness was below expectation. Food was bland and flavorless. Drinks ?? took forever guess they forgot or were expecting me to make them !

Outstanding service!! Outstanding food!!! Feels like home.

My husband and I were in the mood for some great Italian food so we thought wed give Momento a try based on the very positive reviews. We were quite let down after our meal the other night. We were expecting homemade, authentic, good food from this "fine-dining" establishment, but everything seemed generic, as if the sauces and pastas/raviolis were store bought and not made in house. We ordered the baked clams that tasted like they were frozen and then microwaved. The pappardelle was not pappardelle, but it was fettuccine. Everything tasted below-average. Our drinks, aperol spritz and Moscow mule, were watered down and not prepared properly. Im not sure that the aperol spritz even had champagne in it, as it is supposed to be made. One positive out of our experience was the great hospitality of the staff. The food and drinks definitely need major improvements though, which is what you go to a restaurant for. Not worth the money or time.

Food was excellent! Service was so-so. We were seated next to a large table with many kids who were using their cellphones on high volume. It was very loud and noisy, atmosphere not conducive to pleasant dining as a result. I rate it 5 stars for food, 3 stars for service and no stars for the noisy atmosphere.

We just had my daughters bridal shower at Momento. It was absolutely lovely! The food, the atmosphere, the gorgeous patio and pavilion. I knew the shower would be nice, but Lou and Leon at Momento made it absolutely wonderful. They are both so good at what they do! Thank you Momento! Thank you Lou and Leon! I was an unforgettable afternoon.

A friend of mine suggested us to try this restaurant in West Milford NJ, so me and my wife decided to give it a shot and go there on Friday night. The restaurant offers delicious food but weird service. Drinks came late, our waiter was busy having life conversation with the table next to us and the host would keep staring at us in a weird way making us feel uncomfortable. Very weird and disorganized service.

Dinner last night was wonderful. Such pleasant surroundings and the food was delicious. I loved the sauce on the muscles.

By far the best restaurant in NJ. Not only is the food amazing but the service is phenomenal! The ribeye, stuffed mushrooms, CHEESECAKE (and so much moreis out of this world. Couldn’t be happier!

My brother and I had our Easter dinner here yesterday. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time with delicious food. We ate , drank, talked and laughed with each other and our bartender Colleen. We had such a wonderful evening! The staff is terrific and our aged rib steaks were melt in your mouth delicious!! Dessert for me limoncello cake, as light as a feather and beyond scrumptious!

If youre on the fence between going here, Momentos, or another place, go with Momentos! The service and kindness of the employees was unmatched in my experience. The owner was kind and genial. The food was absolutely to die for. I have never had a steak *that* good! And huge! Oh my lanta it was massive! And the mashed potatos, oh my god.... they were so good too! I also did not realize carrots and zucchini could taste that amazing. I would gladly go back occasionally just for a plate of their carrots and zucchini! They were that good! I would go back in a heartbeat! My partner got their special with SeaBass and scallops and shrimp. He echoed my sentiments about the rib eye steak, saying that the scallop and bass melted in his mouth before he even started chewing.The staff even introduced us to their new barmaid, and her drinks are spot on! Everything else was so delicious we had to try one of her specials. So she made us pink grapefruit and basil martinis and they did not disappoint!Be warned, it is expensive, but youll leave after astounded and definitely want to go back!

All I can say is Wow!! My girlfriend and I came here a bit early and were given the best table followed by a few rounds of the most exquisite lemon drop martinis and cosmos. Food was fantastic we ordered chicken to go. The only negative I would say is that the waiter was a little too fresh with his mouth at the dinner table. A man of his age should really speak with more care and class when servicing a fine dining experience. Im sure its something he can work on and why I couldnt give 5 stars.

Everyone in our party of 3 loved their meals. We also started our dinner with 2 appetizer specials...octopus and tuna sashimi and both were excellent. Have been here a few times after new owners and have enjoyed wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere and excellent meals.

One of our favorite places to eat in Northwest Jersey. An Italian villa located in the woods of West Milford! Food is always excellent. Staff is knowledgeable, attentive, fun and welcoming! This visit started with a French Martini (recommended by the hostloved it. Ordered the specials; grilled octopus app, and for main entrees salmon with creamy garlic sauce, and mushroom ravioli, all wonderful. Great place to go when you want a more upscale meal (can still dress in jeans).

What can I not say about Momento?? The service is top notch. Lou is an amazing waiter. Love his sense of humor. Amena makes the best Cosmo I have ever had. Each and every time my husband and I have dinner here we are amazed. We love it so much that we booked the rehearsal dinner for our sons wedding there. Cant wait!!

WEDDING REVIEW (But also a frequent visitor of the restaurant!)Jake and I are so overwhelmed with the amount that Leon, Alberto, and Arta.We were definitely nervous knowing that Momento isnt a wedding venue to have our celebration here but being that we have eaten here a dozen or so times, we knew we could trust the food and would customize everything else.Whatever we envisioned, Arta, Leon, and Alberto wanted to accommodate. We wanted long tables, they made that happen. We wanted string lights hung across the dance floor area, they hung them for us. They spent weeks preparing to ensure everything was perfect and continued to re-assure us in the weeks leading up, despite my anxiety. They hung chandeliers to make the tent look classier, they customized a menu for us from start to finish, and they ensured the right amount of staff for our 85 person wedding.Thank you so much Leon for staying overnight the night before to ensure our day was nothing short of perfect.

My wife brought me there for my birthday and we were delighted with the quality of food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. But the best part of the evening was Lou our waiter, who even though was mainly by himself managed to take our orders and bring it to our table in a timely manner.Great sense of humor also. Will definetly go back again.

After hundreds of reviews you would think it becomes easier... lol NOT. It becomes more difficult because you tend to be repetitive and it gets harder to differentiate how to describe the good from the better.Now this is an amazing experience from the moment you park your vehicle. First off its a hike into the woods to find our venue, but its a nice drive. Once you get to the restaurant you feel like your driving into an estate with a very nice entrance, but when you pull up and see the arch walkway with the beautiful greenery it becomes a weddingesque feel. Yes not a word but makes sense.The greeting as you walk in changes everything, we were greeted by the owner who was very nice and welcoming. We sat down and began the evening. We started off with stuffed mushrooms and moved on to our entrées. My fiancée had Lobster Ravioli with a Rose Champagne Sauce which was insanely good. I had the Parpadelle Ragu which is made with actual Filet Mignon chopped and served as an amazing Ragu.Of course we had a beautiful bottle of Boen Pinot Noir and our dessert was an incredible Bread Pudding and French Homemade Macaroons. Wow we definitely will be returning and well be making this our next Foodie Club experience. Loved it.

I’m always a little leery when trying new places because my other half can be slightly hard to please after years in the restaurant industry. We went to Momento tonight at the recommendation of friends for my fiancé’s birthday…it didn’t disappoint! From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left everything was perfect except the weather outside. Leon was such a gracious host - he’s got personality for days and he truly made us feel like family. The entire staff interacted with each other and all of the guests so seamlessly. And then there was the food!!! Everything was spot on and delicious! I couldn’t have asked for a better steak - bone-in dry aged ribeye cooked to medium rare perfection! My fiancé’s Seafood fra diavolo was incredible…no overcooked seafood in sight. We had such an amazing experience and cannot wait to go back!

Love the food and great service as always. I have been a patron here for almost twenty years and it’s always a pleasure. Bartender makes the best drinks in the entire area! They are one of the few places that serves a NYC quality dry aged steak. I also love their Papardelle.

My friend had the beet salad she said it was good.The crabmeat cocktail was old & dry.The outside ambiance was not what I expected. No candles, just a tent and tables chairs and a pretty water fountain.The service was just okay.Had to move inside because of mosquitos.Overall I give only a 3 rating.Sent back my scallops 2xs.

Momentos felt like home. Excellent steak, great wine and the people are the best of all! We felt Bronx love out in Milford NJ and it really is a small, beautiful world! Thank you for making our 18th wedding anniversary so memorable!

This was our first time at Momentos and we will DEFINITELY be back! My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary and we’re so glad we chose Momentos! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was very good!! I’d highly recommend the house reisling wine (sorry if I’m miss spelling that). We enjoyed an appetizer special, a dinner special, and my husband ordered the filet mignon— divine!! To top off our meal we ordered chocolate mousse cake and carrot cake— both off the charts!! We sat outside and seating was spaced very nicely which made us feel very comfortable. I already can’t wait to go back!

I have eaten in this restaurant for a number of years and have probably ordered nearly everything on the menu by this point. Momento boasts delectable cuisine, exceptional service, and an elegant ambiance perfect for the finest of dining! Alberto, Leon, and their team have hosted private parties and catered events for my family for years — and their food and hospitality have put an extra touch of excellence on each of these occasions. I highly recommend Momento!!

Been a long time WM resident who has frequented this restaurant over 17 years - large family parties and dinner for two. Excellent food and great service and experiences, until now. We had dinner last Sunday with my wife, Mom and sister. My sister has a severe dairy allergy, ordered dairy free and stressed NO dairy. Her dinner was served with buttered vegetables and mashed potatoes. Waiter told her to just eat around it! Really?!? She sent it back. The second meal was still served with veggies cooked in butter. She ate half her plain grilled salmon. They sent over a complimentary dessert for the table but it was Tiramisu! Waiter actually leaned over to my sister and said, "except for you, you cant have this." Really?!? What a slap in the face! Unacceptable!! Needless to say we wont ever go back. This place is way too expensive to be treated with such disregard. Stay away if you have any special dietary needs. Chef and staff have zero concept nor concern if you do.

Certainly a talented kitchen! Havent been here in more than 10 years. Friend pointed out to me that they have one of my favorite dishes, carpaccio, which is hard to find. I have had it prepared numerous ways by different chefs. All delicious, including here. Just missed my capers. NY strip was tender and perfectly cooked. My wife had grilled portobello mushrooms with goat cheese and the sesame encrusted tuna cooked perfectly to a medium rare. Portobello appetizer was a little overwhelmed with balsamic for my taste, but nicely done. Wife loved the chocolate mousse cake. Only issue of the night was our check had 3 drinks on it when we had only 2. Didnt notice till after payment and we enjoyed the evening so didnt bother bringing it up. Great place for a date night

We Celebrated Our Blessed 14 years of Marriage and we were fortunate enough to compliment this Wonderful Day with a Great Dinner. Weve been wanting to try Momentos for awhile and so glad tonight was that night. Everything here was as good as a fine dining restaurant should be. They are Friendly, The ambiance is Quaint and the Atmosphere is inviting.The food 😋 5 🌟 sThis is a must experience, especially that the food is portioned appropriately to the cost, I left satisfied and full. It was a perfect dinner night for our Blessed Marriage Anniversary, Thank you Lord God!

Had our daughters HS graduation dinner here last night and everything was excellent. The ambiance, service, but most importantly the food were all on point. I had raw oysters as an appetizer and veal saltimbocca as a main. Both were fantastic. Two at the party had the rib eye and it was sizzling and tendor. Mentor “like a teacher” was our waiter. What a splendid man. A truly memorable evening.

I went to Momentos on Father’s Day with my wife and daughter. I was impressed from the minute I walked in the door. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcomed. Leon assisted in sitting us at our table, and also in picking a good Cabernet to have with our dinner. He was very knowledgeable with the multiple wines to choose from.Mentor was our server and he was exceptional. Mentor took his time with informing us on the specials and always had a warm smile on his face. The food was delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh and top quality. Momentos is a place that takes it to another level. It’s a place that I will dine at more often. West Milford is fortunate to have such a gem for their residents to enjoy. Kudos to Leon and the great staff at Momentos.Amador family.

This was my first visit and let me first say that our experience was amazing! We felt at home! We even had conversations with another sweet couple whom felt like close friends! I personally have yet to find a better chef! Im not kidding, each of our dishes were perfectly cooked and presented just right! I recommend giving them try, you will be glad you did!

Im sure glad they had Grouper and John Dory as part of their dinner specials. We love them both plus grill octopus. They were all delicious and perfectly cook. After the delicious dinner, the dessert was the knockout punch. I had the limoncello cake for the first time and it has to be in my top 5 list for the best cake ever. Not sweet. Flavor is awesome. Thats going to be my go to dessert when we go back to Momentos for dinner or lunch whatever. If not slice to go, 😂😂.

I would definitely have given this place a 5, but this is the second time in 6 years that Ive had to send back a dish. How can you serve burnt bay scallops and think that the patron will eat that, especially,, when its supposed to be diver scallops? The grilled octopus, and arugula salad were superb as well as the John Dory special! I must say that the staff is very amiable and apologized for the burnt scallops.

The food and service here cannot be beat. Set back in the woods in an enclave of tall pine trees this quiet villa is romantic, private and rustic. Try the octopus appetizer. It was by far the most tender and perfectly cooked Ive ever had.

This is a bit off the beaten path, and literally up a path in the forest. It is a beautiful setting in the woods. Once inside you could be at a villa in Tuscany. It is cozy and the staff was very helpful. The steaks and seafood are fantastic. It is about typical steakhouse pricing. They dont have the typical pasta you night expect. But worth a visit.

My family comes here every year around Easter and it has never disappointed. It is very pricey, but you are paying for faultless service and expertly prepared, fresh, food. In our party we had two steaks and plenty of seafood. All of the seafood was insanely fresh and so perfectly cooked! The scallops melted in your mouth and the lobster was deliciously tender. Seriously, I could go on! Easily the best seafood Ive ever had. The steak eaters both said theyre steaks were better than anything theyve ever gotten even at very high end steakhouses. Like butter! It is under new ownership, but if anything these owners are better than the last. So friendly and knowledgeable. Theres also an extensive bar, so any drink you want, you can get.Great spot for a holiday or special occasion dinner!
