Mokoko Coffee & Bakery - Coffee store in Bristol, United Kingdom
Although the coffee isnt the best for my European taste, the presentation is always beautiful. The staff is super friendly and is one of my favorite bakery places in Bristol. It’s a bit overpriced, you won’t be able to have a coffee with a filled croissant for less than 9£. If you’re a morning person who enjoys having fresh bread sandwiches for breakfast, here they won’t make it before 10.30am, which is a shame. I am a regular costumer and I love their bread, the Serrano Ham Croissant is my favorite (good quality!), the puff pastry is super tasty (if you try a plain croissant you will see how yummy it is). The pain au chocolat with hazelnuts is a delicious bomb and quite generous (maybe too sweet for some tastes), as well as the Almond croissant. The raspberry pastry with custard is delicious. Amazing sandwiches (fresh crispy bread), used to have good salads. Cons on winter, it doesn’t have much room if you want to eat in, during busy hours, but with a proper jacket you can enjoy your coffee and pastry in their tables outside. It’s close to the wharf, so you can enjoy your coffee with a river view 🥰 I highly recommend!
Ordered 2 cinnamon buns and the almond croissant, was absolutely delicious and not overpriced visited the Portishead one , friendly staff and would definitely recommend. 😋
A nice find in Bristol tucked in a chill corner. Ordered a macchiato with their Congo beans and a Hazelnut Pain au Chocolat. The hazelnut pain au chocolat is a bit too sweet for my liking but the macchiato was spot on, lovely notes from the beans. Front of house was very friendly when I asked about their coffee beans :)
Really nice pastries and coffee.
The Mokoko Coffee & Bakery is a wonderful place to stay and relax next to the wharf.Interior is minimalistic and modern, big windows turn it into a light and warm space.Coffee specialties are superb. The pastries and sandwiches are fresh and you can taste the high quality ingredients.Definitely one of the best places in Bristol to enjoy a coffee break or breakfast.
I ordered croissants and cinnamon rolls, they are so big, I did not expect, they are very tasty!
Been here a couple of times now for tea and cake. Shame that they seem to have ditched proper crockery in favour of cardboard cups, it aint the same!! The pricing seemed a bit on the steep side, but overall, when the cake is this good it really is worth it 😉
The food looks good but it was just all a bit too sweet, too greasy (ham & cheese croissantdonuts had a lot of filling which is generous , but unfortunately it was just too much to eve taste a dough, the home made lemonade also was super sweet :( coffee is good.
Loved Mokoko! Sandwich was full of yummy filling, doughnuts were delicious and coffee was fab!! Will definitely be back and definitely recommend 👍💕
Cant say Id recommend Mokoko anymore unfortunately (at least for eating inas they no longer do the salad bar (best part for me). Had 2x300 ml lemonades which came to £7.40 so I also feel Ive just been mugged. Bakery is still banging Im sure!
Great cookies, and a lovely lemonade with mint just what I needed on a warm sunny day thankyou
Mokoko have a great selection of pastries and lunch items. Whenever we visit Bristol we make time to go here and get a drink/food.
Its overpriced and the quality is often relatively poor for their sandwiches and baked goods, I have no idea about the coffee. Cakes and treats are much better at BTP or even ASDA! Been here many a times and have always left disappointed unfortunately
Although the coffee isnt good enough (I didnt like it), I rated 5 for the quality of the croissants. The pain au chocolat was exceptionally good. I recommend.
Cool atmosphere great selection of baked goods but very expensive
Nice little coffee shop, drinks made with care and very tasty home-made sandwiches and cakes, additional outdoor seating is available for sunny days.
Excellent bakery and coffee shop. A great find on a quick trip to Bristol. I ordered a cinnamon bun and oat milk flat white. Best cinnamon bun Ive ever eaten... and huge too. Partner also had a freshly squeezed orange juice. Also bought a sourdough loaf to take home which was incredible - might even be the best sourdough Ive ever bought!
Freshly baked in house pasties and cookies, nice coffee too, became part of our morning routine
Great coffee, the reason for my 2 stars it’s not baby friendly as they have no changing facilities when it costs about £40 to add a changing board into the disabled toilets to change nappies, my child had to get his nappy changed (he’s 2 months old, outside on the picnic bench, while it was busy and multiple people aroundstaff are miserable minus Lucy, a lady with a full fringe and light brown hair, she’s a credit to your company and a has a smile on her face! We went specifically for a cinnobon and pan au chocolate to which there were not available, it was only 1.15pm so you’d think they would bake more; apparently not, I was told I had to be there before midday if we wanted them with attitude from the woman behind the counter, not a great experience and won’t be coming back unless I can see Lucy behind the counter, I know I’ll be served with a smile and no attitude.
Very good vegan sandwich, great flavours and light and crispy sourdough bread. It was my first time and will try again. £6 gets you a sandwich which is in line with most places. I went for hummus, rockets and all the over plantbased goodness.
Its all about the cinnamon buns. They are excellent!. Grab a takeaway and sit by the harbour.Croissants are also worth a try, and they do a mean Sour Dough Loaf.
Great coffee and cakes. Sadly missed out on grabbing a loaf. Wapping wharf is a great location and this place fits right in. Stopped by for a coffee, and babyccino on our way home from a long walk round the harbour. Americano, flat white and babyccino all went down a treat a long with a HUGE cookie and brownie (brownie saved for later due to the size of the cookie!)Not too pricey, just about right for good coffee. Definitely stop by if youre near.
£3.00 for coffee flavoured water. Better coffee from a service station vending machine. Also asked for brown sugar. When they called out my order the guy said BS, whats that? So they arent used to taking orders with sugar in? Weird. Go to Sweven. They actually know how to make quality coffee.
Cinnamon bun the size of a football! Absolutely delicious. Plenty of seating inside and out. Reasonable prices considering location. Only gripe, card payments only.
Fresh pastries and coffee. One of the better bakeries in Bristol. If you are around the harbour area, this is a good spot for coffee and a quick bite. Washroom is clean too.
Love getting coffees from here but also the sandwiches. Probably one of the best egg salad sandwiches I’ve ever had out. Then I also really love the cheese and chutney. The bread they use is always sourdough and delicious.
We picked a flat white and a cookie that day and we loved the coookie so much! It was soft and at the same time, getting a lot of chocolate chips there and not too sweet. Perfect match with the nutty flat white as well! Great services as well!!
Oh my word. The food here was amazing. I had a cheese and pickle sandwich with the lightest of bread, and jam-packed with a tasty healthy filling. My friend and I shared a cake that was a chocolate filled, almond covered warm delight. Definitely worth the calories. Shame they dont have soya milk for coffee but there was oat milk as a dairy alternative. The latte was small but tasted fine. Loos shared with others in the area and 3/4 were not viable (wont go into detail).
Only recently I discovered there bread (even though you can clearly see Team working dough though the windowsand it was fantastic! Must a combination of Shipton Mill Flour and Teams love put into making them. It was so good I had to stop myself from eating the whole loaf in one day.Come early and theres no queues and you get to chat with staff for a bit, no rush. Also, tou can ask you bread to be sliced! Its a must - try it!
Best pastries Ive managed to find in the UK, everything a good pastry should be flaky, crunchy, soft and melt in your mouth deliciousness. Coffee goes pretty well also
Gorgeous bakes, the almond croissant was divine and the best Ive ever had. You can watch the bakers making loaf upon loaf of bread from the checkout, showing just how fresh their stuff is!
I like the place (and the staffbut the coffee wasn’t too good. I will come back to try their bakes and see what the hype is about.
Absolutely amazing. The scone was incredible, and the lemonade was by far the best that Ive ever had.The only area to improve upon would be a fully recyclable drink container, as opposed to the plastic ones in use currently. However, I do get that that can be a difficult thing to achieve, as no replacement is perfect.
This is our favourite coffee shop, the coffee has great flavour. There pastries are perfect and if they start doing there sausagerolls again there well worth a try, very savoury and with unique blend of herbs and spices makes it unique and delicious. There banana cake is also the best around!
AMAZING HOMEMADE LEMONADE!Good coffee and freshly baked pastries.Very friendly staff and happy to help! Also very careful with covid19 measures.
Always a queue here and I had to see why. Its a brilliant shop boasting the in house bakery on the lower level. The pastries here are well made and hit the spot, the staff are very friendly and happy to help
Nothing extraordinary, coffee is okay, pain au raisins is okay but could be better. The pastry is not really flaky, definitely not the best quality dough and not enough creme to my taste.
Takeaway coffee and cinnamon bun from Mokoko = absolute heaven!Probably the best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had. Also, they’ve got a brilliant kiosk / protective screen set up at the front door atm which is brilliant. I felt very safe getting my order.
Seriously yummy fresh food with tasty quiches and pastries and the most colourful, delicious salads. A large plate of food is just £7 and you help yourself so can choose the salads you like best. Cakes looked incredible too. Takeaway available. The only tiny thing that would have improved it for us was more space where you queue/load plates as we are a large family and were very much in the way when we tried 😂. Not complaining though, it was worth it!
Absolutely delicious cakes, huge range to choose from and amazing that you can see everything being made right in front of you!! Will have to come again to try the savoury items, they look just as scrumptious! Also great location and cool vibes inside!
Worth to visit. Good coffee with good ambience and you can see live baking..
Stopped here for a quick lunch on NYE. The salad selection was really varied and interesting and the quiche was so tasty I wanted seconds. The variable plate size 1 main and as much salad as you can fit on system is quick and efficient and the coffee was good too. I wish Id tried a cake, they all looked great and will certainly be back.A great place to stop in amongst a lot of overpriced and understaffed other outfits nearby.
Delicious healthy food and great coffee. Staff friendly and attentive.
Fabulous. Great salads, cakes and coffee. And the staff are so helpful and friendly...they never seen to stop smiling. Well worth the visit. And if you have a dog, no problems you can sit outside.
really beautiful space, I had a coconut iced latte which was super yum. they had lots of fresh salads & tarts on offer which also looked heavenly. I might make this my local spot!
Amazing coffee taste, the sweets were so many and so delicious, that its hard just to pick what you are able to eat. The people working there look so happy and they are very nice. You can even see them baking the cskes, which is great. They also serve some very nice pies. I dont have a single complain about the place! It stole the 1st place in my favorite cafes in Bristol! For more places like this and less Costa Coffee!!
Not as expensive as people say. The Banana and chocolate cake its AMAZING. Coffee and hot chocolate high quality. I love it. Also staff friendly and smily. Definitely Ill come back. Im just not sure if is dog friendly inside.
Great place they always have tasty and fresh vegan food. Very good coffee and vegan cakes to die for. Definitely recommend the place.
Excellent coffees and cakes. The cakes here are a bit overwhelming, but delicious and creative. Good quality coffee and range of teas. The atmosphere is a little bit too hipster but the staff are friendly and the open kitchen is a nice touch. Its a bit cramped as others have mentioned so not as good for wheelchairs or pushchairs when its busy.
Great service, friendly staff and really delicious hot chocolate and cake. Had a great selection of savoury and sweet food.
