Mojito's Restaurant - Caribbean restaurant in San Juan, Puerto Rico
I honestly think the good reviews are fake. Food was inedible. The eggs benedict was hard boiled eggs on a partly defrosted english muffin. For $18. Our waitress was sweet.
Place is cold, waiters kept dropping things, waiters also didn’t attend to anyone correctly. My food came out extremely salty, my gfs food came out cold like if they just took it out of the fridge.I was told that my check would be fixed, all they did was give me a 15% discount that I had to later argue to completely wipe off my bill because the food was inedible.I’m a sues chef at a catering company, and this is completely unacceptable.
We are first timers here in Puerto Rico, one question I always ask local employees is where do they go eat. And this place kept coming up. We decided to try it and we were not disappointed! The staff was friendly able to communicate both in Spanish and English, and omg the mofongos were amazing! What a great place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere 🥰
Some of the best food in town, this place has the very essence of puerto Rican cuisine! I had the Garlic shrimp with a side of yellow rice and corn meal rolls to start...worth every penny! Lunch was around 13-14 dollars/plate but was very delicious.
Dont know about the other reviews but i got my order VERY quickly and was treated perfectly fine, food was excellent as well
Service extremely slow and weird. Forgotten many items, were out of ingredients to make mojitos (their name is Mojitos), out of lettuce for salad, didn’t tell us until the third time we asked where our salad was. Food not bad but once we eventually got, way overpriced. $18 for 3 small shrimp. Forgot dessert after asking twice as well. Ugh!!
Fast service, clean area and restrooms, great flavor and portion.
If you want Authentic Puerto Rican food. Then this is your spot. The service is excellent and the food is Amazingly delicious, the best place to cool off and have food and beers, and I’m not exaggerating, out of all the places I ate this is Hands down the best one I’ve had in San Juan. They don’t need to have the traditional hype outside to be the best, Mojitos is really good, from the empanadas to the rice and beans and Sorullitos. & service. 👍🏼
We shared the Mojito Paelle and it was very good and more than enough for two or three. The mixoligist was new but drinks were good. Lobster was a bit over done but was best calimari we have had. Servers were very nice and attentive.
Absolutely amazing! Exquisite Mojito’s (coconut highly recommend), taste shattering food, and exceptional, warm service. If visiting San Juan Puerto Rico, I will come again, and again, and again!
This is my fifth day in San Juan and I have been disappointed with every dinner so far. upon walking by the place I asked a gentlemen who worked there to be honest with me about the food .i am a very picky eater but i gave it a chance . I ordered skirt steak and it was delicious.my other family members ordered other dishes and i also tried theirs. This is the real deal and the best money Ive spent on dinner since arriving here in san juan. The server was also so politeI also like the fact that they serve soda in a can not some flat fountain soda like most places.
We looked the reviews up and the rating was awesome as we were discussing amongst ourselves aloud a group of locals spoke up and HIGHLY recommended we choose this. Exact words were "Damn good". It was sooo amazing. Our server "Blue" was really nice and attentive.
After going twice during our visit to Old San Juan, we really enjoyed thier food. The mofongo is prepared by hand (the real wayand meats are seasoned well. They were also accommodating to a severe milk allergy request both times, which is why we went twice. Didnt give it 5 stars because on our first visit the pollo criollo was not very impressive (chicken breast with tomato sauce on it). In our second visit they ran out of amarillos and the waiter was not too attentive to us, granted the place was really busy (Sunday).
Oh boy! What a pleasant surprise! Have seen this place going past it for a very long time, but since we were meeting some friends there, we decided to have lunch! What a great piece of meat, cooked to my specification, and with such great taste, I ate it all! Our friends each chose the beefsteak, same as I recommended, and they all left their plates empty! Total success! My sister also ate everything, something she rarely does, but the shrimps she ordered were all soooo rich!
The food was amazingly delicious and the service was great. The area was comfortable and refreshing, the preperation of the food was very different from other restaurants in the area and best of all we hardly waited for the food! Oh, and the prices were affordable as well.
I may have hit the food lottery with this one!! The food here is so delicious and fresh. The service is phenomenal!! Loved the Mofongo with the chicken, steak, or shrimp your choice. Make sure to get it with the butter garlic sauce yum!! This is a great restaurant that needs way more praise its like a hidden gem. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the San Juan area!! Loved the Cubano burger as well. Love everything I tried especially the oyster with salmon and bacon damn. All I can say is damn. That food was so good!
The movie was delicious. The service was excellent and the food came fast. We didnt wait long.
No excusesEverything else is a taleThis is where you can eat Caribbean food, Cuban, and count on it being goodThe best service
LOve this place !!! Especially the mojitos ..and definitely treat yourself with a delicious mojitos mofongo
I just had my sons baptism celebration at Mojitos and I have to say that we had a fantastic experience. What a great group of organizers and owners. Nancy and Guillermo were remarkable helping us with all the arrangements while I was out of town and super professional . My guests were delighted with the service and the food was terrific. We will be back! Thank you all!!!!
The food was excellent here and had a drastically smaller wait than some other restaurants. Very affordable and great service. A must try in old San Juan.
This little place in Old San Juan is a busy place. The food was excellent. We had the steak and onions and fried pork with onions. Both which were great. The service was good.
Great food and friendly staff. The shredded beef and pork 👌 were awesome and the chicken I got for my daughter was still great the next day. Couldnt believe how low my bill was
Really crowded because it was January 1 at maybe 8pm. But the mofongo was worth it and service was good but we had to wait because it was really crowded...in any other day, this restaurant earns 5 stars...but i will give them 5 stars because not everyone opened for service today...thank you...and they were really nice...i also tipped
Awesome food! Awesome service! The pork chops were amazing. Try to hit the 11am-2pm lunch specials Tuesday-Friday...So good!
Every time I go to Puerto Rico to visit family or travel this is a must. The food is sooooo good. The plantain soup is to die for (that’s really why I always gobut all their dishes are amazing. You won’t regret trusting my review. Plus the service is excellent as well!!
This was an amazing restaurant to go to. The food was my favorite of all the restaurants I tried in Puerto Rico. This is the Mofongo de Carne. I also enjoyed their homade salad dressing, and their rice and beans were amazing. My only complaint is that our food seemed to take way to long to come out, and our sides came out even after our main dish did for some reason.
Very Good food and friendly staff!
Get the Party Sampler for a taste of P.R.! Very good, very filling, enough for two people. Sangria was nice too!
Food was amazing! Best variety sampler in town! I had the variety Puerto Rican dish that included fried pork, plantains, rice, shredded beef, and a tamale. I tried their homemade vinaigrette Excellent on the pork and salad! Reasonable prices, clean and great food!
We tried a bunch of samplers from the menu. Very good and fast service. Nice place to stop.
I ordered steak with onions, rice and red beans with tostones, along with a lemonade. The meal was really good, very authentic cuisine. The lemonade was homemade and very refreshing :D and the employees were all very nice. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality of the food and the venue which was decorated nicely, with a modern tropical look. The food was served rather fast for a Saturday afternoon. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!!
We got there 20 min before they closed on a Sunday night with a party of 8 and they still allowed us to dine in. This is normally a valid reason to get bad service with cranky staff. But it was the oposite. We received wonderful service and tastey food.
Indoor and outdoor seating. Food and drinks reasonably priced for a tourist area. Fried cheese with guava sauce (that tastes cinnamonywas satisfying and perfect for an afternoon snack. Fast, friendly service and A/C inside. Clean restroom.
Very good food & great customer service.
The best Pina Colada here! Sagria and Morito is just okay. The food especially their pasta is very delicious.
Excelent service and delicious food. Best Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant in San Juan.
We were looking for mid priced tasty meal in cozy clean restaurant. Ricki welcomed us and explained the posted menu. We enjoyed the shrimps with yellow rice and chicken with pesto and rice. Perfect fast service from this family run restaurant. Looked like it was freshly decorated with classic bar or dining area warmly visited by locals. Only two block up from cruise ship port. See you next time.
Great staff. My daughter spoke some Spanish but they were happy to help out with English. Awesome mojitos. Appetizers were amazin. All had a different mofongo and all were excellent!! Highly recommend this place.
Best EVER! I love the food. Its amazing. The service is really slow, and not very good with tourists who dont understand the culture or speak Spanish.
Great food. I had the ropa vieja with arroz y frijoles and I also ordered an extra side of platanos! Everything tasted great! Our server was also friendly. A couple locals recommend this place and Im glad they did.
Have eaten here many times. The food is great, portions are large for the price. Service can be a little slow, depending on the visit. They have remodeled, looks great. Larger portions and better quality food than Raices.
Best mofongo I tried (among several). Lives up to its name too--the mojitos are delicious! Friendly service too.
Great food, great service, definitely stop by for a good time!
Next time you’re craving a great Cuban plate of food, but you find yourself in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, make your way to Mojito’s Restaurant. This Cuban-owned restaurant must have a Cuban grandmother in the kitchen cooking up all of their orders… because that’s exactly what it tastes like. You can tell how great a Cuban restaurant is by the quality of the simplest of meals - white rice and black beans. Theirs? Pretty darned great. While the staff is great, albeit a bit slow at times (Cuban time anyone?), I can’t imagine anyone not loving anything on the menu here. Try it out… you’ll thank me later.
Outstanding food at reasonable prices. Seasoned to perfection. You cannot go wrong with this wonderful local restaurant. Relaxing atmosphere sharing good times with the local people from the community.
Great place to stop for lunch while exploring the area. Expansive menu with Caribbean and American friendly food. The service was decent, but diminished as lunch business picked up. Walked by around dinner time and was also busy, so you may have to be flexible.
I had the ropa vieja mofongo. It was delicious. I cant remember ever having mofongo that good. I also had the house mojito...so good! If I could put up more stars I would.
Delicious Authentic Puerto Rican Dishes.Enjoyed my Stewed Bacalao with salad and tostones. Ask for their House Specially made salad dressing. Be there early for lunch this place is really popular with the locals and tourists it gets packed.
Amazing food and courteous staff. Food allergies were well considered and I did not have any sort of reaction to th food I ate. A must visit choice for any celiac visiting old San Juan. The Pechuga Mojitos was amazing. As was the rice and beans
