Moghul - Indian restaurant in Acocks Green, United Kingdom
Been visiting since I moved to the Green in 1994. Decent enough Indian restaurant.
Ive used Moghuls on and off for almost 20 years. While the staff arent the friendliest, theyre never rude as others reviewers have said. I do feel theres an atmosphere while dining in though so we often chose to get delivery. On our most recent order we saw an offer to get 20% off. When I pressed the link to download the voucher I was required to leave my email address. As this isnt unusual for special offers I signed up for emails to get my voucher.Upon signing up, a message showed on screen that I wouldnt be receiving the voucher until many others signed up too. I dont believe this will ever be applied or sent. Due to this dodgy scam of trying to get my details, Ill never use Moghuls again.Well done Moghuls, youve just lost a loyal customer in a ridiculous attempt to get my email address only to have me unsubscribe anyway.
Didnt use this establishment as I had to wait, just to get anyone to realise I was there. I was just totally ignored.
Worst customer service , I have ever had in my life , never been to a restaurant where the staff shout at the mangers , and customer. The food didnt even make up for the bad service 🤣🤣If you want nice Halal food in OltonGo to "INDIAN EATERY" or Hawam Tawa & Grill and ACOCKS GREEN PEPESGreat service, and great food go to the three places listed above. Its the short guy with the glasses , who likes to shout at customers , when the fault of the restaurant, communication and manners is key
Always amazing food really good quality if it’s take away or eat in never had a problem.Lovely staff good customer service
This is my first review for Moghul, I used to go when it was Lahore in the 80s. I always rated a balti on Moghul/Lahore. Havent been here for a few years, for what ever reason. Had a takeaway a week ago (king prawn baltiit took me back to the day /amazing. Was going to go for a sit down but didnt, instead we ordered a takeaway again. Had one change of dish (fingers crossedI neednt have worried. Moghuls please dont change your chef, I want a sit down. 🙂👍
We have been on a number of occasions and it never disappoints. My two visitors from London were also very mpressed. Good value too.
Very nice meal, well cooked nice and clean. Staff were very helpful.
Lovely meal great staff no o problem at all I can recommend moghul
Great food and very friendly people very clean place
Dry Blend food, Bad service, and day light robbery highly not recommendedAnd waste of money waiters smell of bo
Waited nearly a hour cold food halve a container of food it was more like a stew than a curry. The staff are rude
We came on Saturday night very friendly staff food was very good would recommend it and would come again
Got food from there tonight was a total waste of 40 pounds had 3 different currys and none of them was all eaten went in the bin have seen a tin of dog food more appealing
Lovely tasty food. Brilliant service.👍
Fantastic restaurant with brilliant staff loved the food. Definitely recommend it. The chicken balti and jafrezi is beautiful. Will certainly visit again! The restaurant layout is perfect for an eat out.
Very nice surroundings, relaxed friendly atmosphere good customer service and excellent curry just perfect to round off a lovely Saturday.
Nice freshly cooked food and pleasant staff ,will come back.
Ive never had a bad meal in 30 years, absolutely adore the place!
Lovely atmosphere lovely decore polte and friendly staff tasty food at affordable prices. You are not rushed so take your time. They accommodate small parties as we have held Birthday celebrations there.
Been going with the family for a long time and never had a bad meal. Fantastic restaurant and lovely atmosphere and great staff.Food is excellent, highly recommended 👌
Excellent food and service, I have personally never been dissatisfied and the staff are all super friendly.
Take note...food is not too bad but, the customer service is simply appalling. Older gentleman with thinning hair always busy on his phone upon entry to the restaurant. Just about acknowledges the customer upon entry through the door. After paying, still tends to his phone before venturing into the kitchen to check if your takeaway order is ready.(Bear in mind, Ive eaten in here before during mid 2020 and the service was the same).I wanted and have given you guys another chance twice this week but, what a disappointment.I even politely brought this up with the person in question and was met by the response that we have been here 35 years so cannot be that bad.I personally work face-to-face with customers on a daily basis and you guys clearly have no idea. As one previous review suggested, if you like good food AND good service, visit the Jilabi a couple of miles away.My name is not hidden and hopefully gives some credence to this being a genuine review.Steer clear...
Always brilliant, good food and cheap.A curry house is easily judged on its Madrass. This place is ace, thanks very much xxxx
I found the whole experience unpleasant the food had no taste I had a lamb balti very oily and no taste ...the service was with attitude. Will not be going back..in this current climate you would have thought they would offer a better service even with a glint of a smile.
Very poor experience, bad and sloppy service forgot orders and mixed between staff. Couldnt call the food a curry, barely had any spice or flavour was all just sweet sauce even when we ordered food to be hot. Portion sizes were small and not presented well.
Great little place, fantastic food and helpful staff. Weve been many times and never had a problem.
Had a take out for family celebration ordered 12 different curries to taste all were absolutely amazing very tasty enjoyed by allThank you very much!!
Food is Mediocre. Services not friendly at all. I went with my family. We ordered a chocolate cheesecake for my son and it came to the table frozen rock hard. When complained, waiter offered to warm it up in the microwave. Wouldnt go there again.
The place was fine to start with, where I was the only person eating in the restaurant. The atmosphere was spoilt by three guys who arrived later using foul language.Tasty generous portions but not much on the menu for vegetarians. Dishes containing allergens were clearly labelled on the menu.
We were made welcome by the staff. we had prawn cocktail to start. For main course we had chicken tikka massala and lamb balti. service was great. The also serve alcohol and soft drinks. My first time there. I will be there again. Flavour of the food was brilliant.
Ordered for collection. Korma, masala and saag.Tried for the first time , korma and masala sauces was runny and not thick and creamy. Saag was watery. Noor Jahan and Bombay brasserie much better
The Mogul as always doesnt dissapoint, Ive been using it for 30 years and have left many positive reviews before, they have had the same chef for all this time, probably why it so consistently good, Bengalis are fantastic cooks and here you have one the best.
Very friendly. And good food .one place to try and its really clean ...👍👍 no complaints in 17 years....
Have been here on many occasions and never had a bad meal. Service is good and lovely surroundings.
Food was lovely as always. The staff are very friendly and efficient. You dont have to wait too long to receive your food. I would highly recommend
Another visit to the Mogul for a pre-xmas meal. This is probably the 4th visit in as many years and a good crowd of 19 turned up.For some reason, even though being a Friday night and not being very busy, the service was slow and some of us had to wait for our meals whilst others had already tucked into theirs, starters and mains. Most were happy with their meal but it was a bit of a mixed reaction on this occasion.I ordered the Lamb Chops for the starter. Three small chops with very little meat on, but was well flavoured and cooked. For my main I had the Tawa Lamb with a garlic nan and Pillau Rice, shared with a friend. The garlic nan wasnt garlic but plain. The rice was cooked, but not long grain and fluffy as you would expect. My main looked amazing coming on a sizzling heavy panned Tawa. However, the meat was a mix of small pieces of lamb and chunks of lamb shishk kebab. I was fishing for the meat in my dish, which was very disappointing.Overall a good meal out together with friends and colleagues, but the Mogul food could be much better.
Ordered though Just Eat for an 8.50pm collection. When it finally came out I then left at 9.15pm. I then got home to find cold food but best of all it wasn’t even what we ordered. Avoid!
The manager is very rude. Would not go again as he would not listen to the complaint the curry being overly spicy. He offered to replace it with a less spicy curry but charged us for 2 dishes even though we had 1.
Very friendly staff and the food is great. We have been dining here for over 20 years.
The food was fantastic .had a lovely time service brilliant
Really enjoyed the meal here, friendly staff . Top quality
Great food, service and atmosphere.Friendly and attentive staff, that go the extra mile.Never disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food and at a very reasonable price.
Very rude on arrival told us to sit on the chairs to wait and then when a table was free he pointed to the table and said sit there. Been coming for years and never had a problem but there is one rude member of staff on welcome
Best curry Ive had outside of top end high priced restaurants. Moguls is rarely busy and I just dont understand why. The food is superb and cooked to order.
Really nice meal. Visited on a Saturday night and it wasnt too busy. The starter and main course came at a good speed.
Great selection of Indian and Bangladeshi food. Cooked to perfection. The service is always good but theyll also deliver if you prefer.
Weve been here several times and the food is always great. The interior has been upgraded over the years but the food has always been great. Never too busy. One of my favorite Indian restaurants.
Used them for years, great staff, beautiful food, good size portions ( I can never finish mine!). Very stylish inside, and if you order and collect, which I usually do, its fast and discounted.
Moghul has built a reputation on serving good quality food at good prices. I have never had a bad experience here, and the staff are always welcoming and strive to ensure you have a good time whilst with them.Occasionally, you can feel that the wait time on food is a little longer than you would expect, even on quiet nights. The restaurant does also offer take away though, so sometimes even if the restaurant is quiet the chefs may have many orders to prepare. The restaurant does have a small bar, serving alcohol (Cobra lager on tap).
