Via Palestro, 16, 20121 Milano MI, Italy, Milan
Grandiose, 18th-century mansion exhibiting Italian art & sculptors, plus works by Cezanne & Gauguin.
There are some nice pieces but nothing special. The building is nice. You are forced by the staff to go on the "recommended" route. Some of them are pretty rude too. There are better things to do in Milan.
One of the best museum in Milan
Closed but we were in time.
Beautiful building and spacious grounds.
Not the kind of mordem I was expecting! But I’m really pleased with the overall visit! Besides the pairing there are some really entertaining sculptures and some product designs in some of the rooms. The gallery is pretty easy to navigate even without a map but I believe they provide you with one anyways when you’re buying your ticketI got there 1 hour after they opened so it was pretty empty and calm.
Very nice building and art collection. Green garden at the back.
One of the greatest modern art museums Ive been to in Italy. Morandi, Corot, Picasso, and much more!
Nice exhibition, space is a bit small for price of tickets.
The art is nice (especially the second floorbut my god are the staff rude!
Good place to see late 19th/early 20th century ltalian painting and scultura...high- lites are Segantini and Medardo Rosso...
GAM is always super fascinating... And tranquil enough to enjoy your visit almost in solitude. It has some masterpieces that deserve to be known and enjoyed! Wonderful
A really nice art museum that looks to bridge the gap between Italian artists and Modern Art. Most of the museum was being changed around as I was there. Some really fantastic pieces including a few by Picasso. Definitely worth the price of admission which was 5 Euros when I went.
What a gem! Especially the 2nd floor, which is a bit difficult to find. Ask the very friendly staff to show you the stairs to access it. The only thing i would improve is the lightning. It is sometimes really bad and one has to really move around to get a good view of some of the paintings.
Beautiful museum, absolutely love the sculptures. Some paintings are also phenomenal
The best art museum in Milan for me. I love the arrangement very much. The building (Villa Realeitself is already such a piece of art. The art works have the great echo with the ambient.
A must see! Very inspiring and classic. The best value exhibition in Milan.I will be back;)
Neither the art nor the organzition are up to date. The visitor has no guidance, the concept is very old school.
Great art gallery - I recommend it.
A nice and quiet gallery to visit in a beautiful afternoon. I dont know about the history of the building, but the view to the Garden is awesome. They have a limited art collection comparing to other "pinacoteca" in town, but the quality is great. I love the atmostphere here in GAM, where every room is small enough for me to not feel overwhelmed but big & insightful enough for my curiosity. The slightly minus point is they dont have audio guide, but because of the hospitality of museum staffs, I still rate it 5 stars.
Does really well to tell the story of artists in Milan, an audio guide and cheaper ticket price would improve the experience.
Very fascinating place, there are some very valuable artworks and the exhibition is very well set up. Definelty worth a visit (ticket is 3/5€).
Enjoyed my time there. A nice collection of the avant-garde period. Not to be missed in Milano if that period is of interest to you. There is also a nice cafe outside
This place is heaven, surrounded by an amazing park. I recommend visiting if you have time
Some good minor works by well known artists such as Picasso, Corot, Gauguin. Good Italian modern collection. Rather dull ground floor of endless C19 portraits
Loved this museum. Compact, but still a lot of worth seeing exhibits. Loved Andrea Venturas exposition.
Nice building but poor collection and display of the art. The fee is very small so its a good deed and the park around it is nuce, too, but dont go if you only go for the art.
Mainly white color, match with gold and green luxury interior.
There are some really beautiful pieces of art inside. It is worth a visit.
Beautiful house and interesting exhibitions
Beautiful paintings and sculptures; modern, but mostly traditional, with several works by Picasso and at least one Van Gogh.
Small but beautiful with lots of modern art paintings. Especially lovely were the four paintings by Francesco Hayez
Beautiful gallery, very reasonable price for such a wonderful collection
very interesting exhibition mixing Italian and foreign artists, well balanced between painting, portraits and sculptures. Worth the price and not too overwhelming
An interesting collection of works, most by artists Im unfamiliar with, but also some Picasso, van Gogh and Lautrec. Some very interesting sculpture by Grandi. The building itself has some great decoration that is also with seeing. Its an unusual gallery in the way many rooms are open to the outside air with the windows open during the daytime.Certainly worth a visit.
A museum you must see whenever you visit Milan. Absolutely remarkable.
I was so impressed I was able to see artwork of Toulouse Lautrec and many beautiful sculptures. Great content!!!
Are you in Milano? Do you wanna see the place which is not overhelmed by tourists? Do you wanna see amazing Marble status which are talking with you, telling the story.. if yoir answer is yes.. so dont hesitate go to Modern Art Gallery.. you will spend wonderful time.. enjoy it
It’s a nice gallery that you can enjoy ancient and contemporary art!
Fantastic museum, child friendly and very welcoming. From Cezanne and Gaugin to contemporary exhibitions, the villa itself is a sight to behold with its guilt and mirrrored ballroom. When the children get tired there is an excellent café in the courtyard in the Villa Reales gardens out back for them to play in. Highly recommended.
A reference for modern art in Milan. Free on Tuesday afternoons! Gorgeous architecture, both outside and inside, create a very particular set for the artworks; at the 1st floor, each room has its own decor and colors. The collection presented at the 2nd floor is incredible, and the set design is very particular.Have a walk in their gardens too!
Definitely a must to visit, if you are “museum person”. It’s located very close to the city center, two stops from Duomo metro stop by the red line, the stop is Palestro, then you will need to walk around 5-10 mins and you will reach the Modern Art gallery. You will find plenty of famous artwork such as Toulouse Lautrec, vintage posters, sculptures and many more.
It was very nice place. I think the price is 10€ but we went the first sunday of the month and it was free.It has plenty of paintings and scultures.
This was my first visit here and I was impressed by the beautiful mansion facing one of the nicest parks in Milan. The collection is good and there is always some extraexhibition, this time it was Boldini. Not too crowded, which in my opinion is always good for a museum.
Nice and amusing for a calm artistic ambient to experience in a poppulated crowded noisy place like milan. It would change your mentality for 2-3 hours.
This museum is part of Milan municipials museum and you cen get acces through buy ticket for 12 euros for all civil museums. Museum is situated near National museum and you can find it easily. Inside you can find some very rare paints and also whole building is in very nice architectonic style. I really recomended to make stop there and employers inside are very helpful and recomended in your map what another must see if you are interesting in paints and art at all.
All u want for modern art. Van Gogh, Picasso,
Nice museum! For those who like sculptures. The cafe just by the museum is great
The Receptionist was extremely unfriendly and not helpful at all. As a foreigner who doesnt understand Italian, you cant read the paintings titles and there was almost no information about most of the paintings and artists. Pieces of well-known artists are very rare and most of the art is Italian dating back to the 16th to 19th centuries. We actually only liked the part of the collection exhibited on the second floor. So all in all, we were disappointed, expecting a diverse and significant collection of Italian and foreign modern art.
A splendid gallery with good selection of Italian as well as some French, Spanish and German works from 18-20C. Maybe it was a slow day, as we had the place to almost to ourselves which was a treat. I discovered many new artists during my visit. The temporary exhibits are displayed in a beautiful modern addition which replaced the original stables.
Interesting collection of Milan art particularly performed between end XIX - start XX century And all in a wonderful villa.
