Low-key sushi place offering a huge array of rolls, plus Japanese entrees, bento boxes & sake.
Been coming here many time and today the old lady decides to follow us out the door after we payed asking if we left her tip we said no and she said next time don’t dine in if you are not going to tip. Please humble Yaself a little more that’s how you lost customers. Tips are not obligated it’s optional.
Always a great experience at MoMo. Food is fresh and delicious and staff is great. One of our favorite places to eat
Great food, excellent service ... Place is a little tight( need to expand!)
Update: food portions are becoming incredibly small and prices still go up. No longer can recommend going even though the food is good.Delicious food. Incredibly quick service. A little on the pricey side. They also have good drinks to try.
They were down a sushi chef so our take out order was going to take an hour. So we decided to go to Wasabi down the road. But heard the sushi is pretty good. Will update when we go back.
Delicious and such friendly staff! My roll was very good and my husband loved his sashimi platter. Will def be back!
Best Sushi I’ve had in CT! Owner is a really sweet woman who cares so much for her business and it shows! Highly recommend!!
The food was excellent and the wait staff was friendly and welcoming.. I highly recommend
We ordered 8 rolls worth of $60. When we arrived there we asked for Extra soy sauce as they only gave small container and they were 30% full. Because we like it, we simply asked for more. The person said that they will charge us more. So we agreed even tho I’d never seen this before. She goes to adjust the receipt to charge us $5 more for just say sauce!!!!! Never ever in life I had to pay $5 for a sauce. What’s the difference between dining in or order to go. you always have a full bottle there for you.It wasn’t about the $5 but it’s more of a customer service issue and greed!!!! And now you’ve lost a customer forever and got this bad review! By the way the are overpriced and their rolls are small and not worth it specially the special rolls at $13.
The vegetable friend rice has a good texture. It wasn’t dry at all and came out fresh. I like this.
Cute place but all and all very bland no flavor. to each there own but just my opinion was very excited for this place from reputation but was very disappointed 😞
Entirely insubstantial flavor. Ordered sushi for pickup at a specified time and it was obvious they just made it right away and let it sit for 30 minutes. Was lukewarm almost hot when we ate it. Spicy tuna had almost no flavor. Smaller portion sizes. Really let down because the reviews were so positive.
Amazing Sushi for two with sashimi. Very fresh fish. They have a big menu with a lot of options but this plate for two comes in a ship-form! I recommend it!
Always great service and food. After 3 times the ere we felt like regulars. The owners knew us by name and greeted us like family.
Delicious food and nice dining atmosphere. They have booths sectioned off at the tops with clear dividers, which is nice.
Fresh Sashimi. large thick pieces. Place was small so I had to wait 20 min for a table. Else it was great!
Food was sub par, sushi was decent. Restaurant wouldn’t mix chicken, beef and shrimp for hibachi dish. I order hibachi regularly and have never been told that they can’t mix the three proteins. I expect to pay more but to not even offer to do that didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t want other food so I sat at the table while the other guests ate. Will not be trying this restaurant again.
Food was delicious and and waitress was great.
Best sushi in Milford! Huge assortment of creative rolls and apps, but true sushi aficionados, will appreciate the freshness of the sashimi and diverse sake offerings. I always order the chutoro or otoro (fatty tuna bellyif available. The only dish I’ve ever eaten that I didn’t love was the tuna trio (too saucy for the tuna to really shine). I wish their specials had more exotic offerings like mirugai, ankimo, etc. But given their affordable prices, they’re smart to focus on freshness over novelty.
Was great great company and wonderful owners. Made us feel like we were part of the family. Would highly recommend it
By far the best sushi in the area - excellent food, excellent service, just a fantastic place overall
Miso soup was okay. Pad Thai was very tasty. Excellent service. Will definitely try again.
The best Japanese have ever had ! Kobe beef on stone is must try, beef is so fresh and so juicy without any sauce needed. Must order the special sushi platter (news paper behind the sushi barsorry I forgotten the name. It’s my must go Japanese restaurant when I mIn CT.😍
Good sushi. Very attentive staff.Busy place, but when the food and service is good you expect it to be busy.Just watch your step going into the restroom.
Excellent service and food. Well worth the visit. So many amazing rolls! Flaming tempura fried ice cream is yummy and fun.
Dropped in on a whim driving by. Super tasty sushi rolls! Was pleasantly surprised. We also had the chicken teriyaki entree (pictured and half eatenIt was so fresh and tasty!
Jasmine and Jeffrey are in a class of their own. Momos has been my favorite place to eat for ten years now. My aunt and uncle even got married there. Everything is absolutely fresh, authentic and prepared to perfection. Cute classy atmosphere, terrific drinks and wonderful service. The appetizers and signature rolls are delicious even addicting. And there are so many choices of fish and seafood to try. Im a fan especially of the sushi and sashimi but even the hot dishes are fantastic from soups, noodles, pad thai and tempura. They have it all. Everytime I go I want everything on the menu. go enjoy and relax you wont regret it.
Absolutely fresh sushi! So many different sushi rolls to pick from. We were very stuffed! MoMo was little busy with dining in and take outs. Staff was on top of it and friendly.
Comfortable Asian fusion restaurant with great sushi bar. Enjoyed a bento box lunch at a good price. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Excellent veggie tempera with light flavorful batter that was not gummy at all. Good service and overall pleasant experience. Consistently good food, give them a try.
This is place awful, overpriced, and the service is hilariously bad. This is not the first time Ive been here. This will my last. I ordered hibachi chicken, which was $18, and it literally looked like $5 worth of food. They brought out the rice at a different time. Mind you, it doesnt come with fried rice, just a small cup of white rice. The food took forever, and the owner said thats a normal portion. For $18.... You could go to a real hibachi place and get 5x the amount of food. The sushi is so expensive too. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Firs time there and I was impressed. Theres a lot of food that you can choose from the menu. So much food that I didnt know what I wanted to try. Anyways, I went there for a quick bite so i got a bento box and a small toro tar tar as my app. The food was delicious. Toro was fresh otherwise you cant make tar tar from it. It was a bit pricey thou but wasnt a big deal. As I have a lot of experience with sushi restaurants so I understand, you get what you paid for. Recommended for people who want to explore and try something new. That always has been my goal.
Excellent steak Ramen. Top shelf sushi. Quick and pleasant waitstaff. One of my go to restaurants.
Tonight I took my niece out tonight for her first sushi experience .. and I knew the only place that would do is Momo.. From the cleanliness of the restaurant to the impeccable staff you cannot help yourself from falling in love with this place. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and will always great you with a smile. The food is always fresh and never disappoints.. All I have to say is when a 8 yr old FALLS IN LOVE! with Tobiko and Eel then they have to be doing everything right!
I recently moved from Stamford and have been looking for a local sushi spot. Momo was highly recommended in a Milford Facebook group that I am in. Since then, I have tried both takeout and dining-in with them and the experience has been excellent. Their sushi is fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I enjoy a good miso soup and theirs has been the best Ive tried in the CT area. The dining-in experience is warm and welcoming. It seems many of the staff know the name of their regular customers and are happy to see them when they come in. It was really wonderful to see that. The Momo staff are also extremely attentive, checking in if there is anything else you need. We will be long time customers of this restaurant.
Never disappoints! Even in a time of takeout the quality here has been consistent, but dining in in the past has been an enjoyable experience too. Definitely recommend this spot for affordable and delicious sushi
I worked at this Restaurant for two years (2016-2018and as an ex-employee I just would say that it’s the best in town, the food is amazingly delicious not only because the chefs cook it well but also because jasmine and boss take care of every minute thing and correct them immediately. I don’t think there is anything that someone wouldn’t like in here! Quality and quantity both are not to be bothered about. I would love to go back here sometime again to feel home. Momo is the the best. The customers that come here regularly are as close as best friends to the restaurant! Keep coming and continue to blossom your relationship with this restaurant. ❤️❤️❤️
Finally found a really good sushi place in Connecticut, specifically the New Haven area. We started with the Kani salad which was prepared and tasted very well. The sashimi lunch was fresh, thick cuts of fish, buttery soft, and melted in my mouth. The salmon skin handrolls were roasted just right. For dessert, the ikura was briny and the perfect way to end the meal.
The sushi rolls are ok the small size but, they are quite good! Very friendly and helpful service staff! Highly recommend!
Excellent sushi and fast friendly service. This place can get very crowded on weekends, so you may have to wait. Cooked dishes are also prepared well, but sometimes arrive slowly. All in all a worthwhile stop. Easy to get to and plenty of free parking.
Been there twice within the same week and had a good experience. The staff is friendly and provide good service. The sushi has by far been the freshest I have had close to the New Haven and Orange area. The resturant is also very cozy and clean. The bathrooms are single stalled, but theyre nice and clean. The rolls are smaller than some other resturants, but theyre not too expensive with specialty rolls ranging from $10-12 and regular rolls under $10. Really enjoyed the Golden Dragon Roll, Spider roll, and in general all the other rolls. We ordered over 6 rolls in both visits, so it was hard to remember all the rolls. Had their fried tempura ice cream and it was just ok. They lit it on fire for me, but it was unimpressive since it was colorless. It would have been better if they burned a drink that turned blue like rum. Will definately come again to check out lunch specials.
I always have a great experience here. My girlfriend and I have eaten her so much we’ve become regulars. Everyone that works there is nice, they’ve also taken the time to remember our orders! It’s a cute little place and even when it’s at the busiest time of day they are very quick with eating and also serving. I honestly can never say that I’ve ever waited longer than 10 minutes... and that’s with 6 rolls total. I love it, keep up the awesome food, I mean, work (well, both 😃)!!!
Very good experience for lunch. Not very busy, mid afternoon on a Saturday. Top quality sushi, served at perfect temperature, not warm or room temp and not frozen. Very well prepared and plated. Appetizers were good too. Service was excellent. Would definitely go again, and would definitely recommend.
This unassuming joint in a strip mall was a great place for some quality food and sushi options. Quick attentive wait staff and a lovely 3 rolls for $12.50 lunch special left my belly full but not stuffed.I got the yellow tail, spicy tuna and avocado peanut rolls. The salad came with the meal and tea was $2.50.Again most would drive right past, but stop by, have a beer or scorpion bowl and some good conversation.
By far the best sushi place in Connecticut. Great selection of sushi, sashimi, rolls and amazing appetizers. Each piece of fish is carefully crafted and served with confidence. The restaurant is managed by a family that make you feel at home each and every visit. Cocktail list is well thought out and the atmosphere warming. Highly recommend. Ask for the Jeffrey special, always changing and always amazing.
Good service, good sushi., nice music on background
I loved it. I know reviews say the prices are high but they have a lot of options for you to get great sushi at reasonable prices.
Probably the best sushi outside of NYC in the region in terms of quality. Size wise, they tend to give you smaller pieces and charge more than other places in the area. This place would get 5 stars if they put more effort into the look of the place and it wasnt so extremely expensive. My wife and I dropped almost $200 last time we were there on dinner for the two of us. Worth a try, but stick to the basics and avoid the specials if you dont want to spend a lot of money.
Takeout was quick and friendly. Shrimp tempura roll was small however the food overall was very good.
All I have to say is FANTASTIC! The rolls are not overstuffed with rice like most places and the fish is super fresh. Definitely one of the best in the area. The servers are very attentive and arent overbearing. We had a great time
Excellent service, excellent food, quaint atmpsphere. We will be back again 💜
