Miss L's Sandwich Shop in Acworth

I really wanted to like this restaurant and after a bad experience a year ago I decided to try it again. Unfortunately, my recent experience was the same as last time. I will use the words from a previous review to describe the woman who took my order - “unsmiling, unwelcoming and very close to being rude.” For an ordinary sandwich and unfriendly staff, it just isn’t worth the visit and I won’t go back to the restaurant a third time.

Had a great sandwich here! Service was quick and the ladies were lovely to chat with. Nice selection of sandwiches as well!

Driven by this locally owned gem numerous times. Finally stopped in last week. Got the egg salad sandwich. Delicious. Service was perfect and really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. Shop local. Eat local. Keep up the good work ladies!

Best little sandwich shop Ive ever had the pleasure of experiencing. You walk in and you feel like youre apart of the family. The sandwiches are AMAZING and so fresh and tasty!

I love Miss L’s. My step mom and I used to come here all the time when I was younger and miss L is always friendly and proud of what she puts out. There is a sense of nostalgia when eating here that I love. I always get the #6 and it’s delicious every time!

Small little sandwich shop. Ladies are very kind and pleasant. Food was fresh and delicious. My new go to place for freshly made sandwiches. Worth the drive.

Maybe a little perspective will help.You wont get a gourmet sandwich here. Yet you will get a fresh made sandwich, that tastes good, made quickly and without fanfare plus at a good price.Sure, the counter folks can be a little sassy, yet it aint boring and youre sandwich will be brought to your table and if your drink cup runs a little low, theyll come by and refill it for you with out asking.Sit, slow down, enjoy a fresh sandwich, watch the train go by, breathe, enjoy all that a small town has to offer, including listening in on some town gossip. Bonus, this place is wicked clean!McDonalds, this isnt, and thats a good thing!

First of all nothing to complain about…I would go back…just passing thru on the way to Florida from Canada ..decor could use a refresh looks tired and the ladies looked tired it was busy…lady at till is just trying to do a timely job which we all like…focused…so the people that complain about her shortness…get over it…the order was correct….she’s probably a very valued employee that shows up and works …unlike the business I’m in…it’s sandwich shop…and that’s what you get…a damm good sandwich!

Al-Qaeda and Isis probably have nicer people working for them than the lady running the register. The kids at McDonalds know how to act better than she does. Helen Keller could probably make a better sandwich. Dont waste your time or money at this dump. Literally the Chum Bucket.

Need to change the hours to close at 2:30pm. We stopped by at 2:38pm and were refused service. You cant say youre open until 3pm if you dont serve guests until 3pm.

Wow. What a great sandwich. Perfect size. Consistent from 1 bite to the next. Owners very nice and polite. Go get the number 14! You wont regret it!

Really sweet ladies at this restaurant. I had the #18 (Chicken Reubenand it was delicious! I love me some potato salad and about ate the cup that it came in because it was so good😋! Definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the downtown Acworth area for lunch.

Today, I went to Miss L’s for a take out lunch around 1-1:30 pm. I have loved this restaurant for years, but the experience we had today was so disappointing. First, all three women were maskless. Surprising in the food industry these days..and somewhat disturbing. The restaurant was empty and the woman who took our order was impatient, unsmiling, unwelcoming and very, very close to rude. She huffed and sighed as we looked over the menu deciding what to order...which took all of three minutes. My adult son, who has relocated to the area, and to whom I raved about Miss L’s, was really taken aback. The sandwiches were just okay, and I have to say it will probably be the last time I visit the shop. There’s better food, and a much nicer atmosphere at other local restaurants.

I arrived there at 2:38p.m. The sign states they are open until 3p.m. and there are multi people still dining. The two people cleaning behind the counter look up and neither of them speak to me as Im waiting at the counter. Then one of them calls the other and she says "itll have to be to go". They never greeted me. I would not have minded taking my order to go in fact it was what I planned on but they very rude. I left promptly while one of them yelled well we close at 3pm. 20 plus minutes would have been more then enough time to eat. Ill take my business where is appreciated.

The soup was good, but my main issue was health related.The two ladies who made our food used their bare hands without thoroughly washing them before touching our food. No masks, no hair nets, no gloves. It grossed me out, especially during COVID.One lady was eating when we walked in. She took her dishes behind the counter, placed them in the sink and then made our sandwiches without washing her hands.The other lady out her hands under the water for about 5 seconds and then made sandwiches.And seriously... no masks... no gloves!? Ew

I had the Chicken Reuben on Marble Rye. Absolutely fantastic. Super cute little shop too, right downtown. I highly recommend this place!

If you are like me and have never entered these doors, but passed by curiously -Please take the time to go on in.I met a friend for lunch at another very popular restaurant very close by. We entered the other establishment and were rudely ignored for several moments. We decided they didnt apparently want or need our business and we turned and left. She suggested Miss Ls & I eagerly agreed. Nestled in a cool, historic building in downtown Acworth, this wonderful eatery is bursting with surprises. First off, the menu. Just take a look, then step to the side and try to make up your mind. Its a difficult decision. We arent talking about a simple ham and cheese or pb& j here. These are gourmet, original recipe sandwiches on fresh bread of your choosing. The number 16 is my absolute favorite sandwich, but i plan on trying many more. My friend, overwhelmed with the menu choices, simply ordered a BLT. You cant get any plainer than that, right? Well somehow the ladies here turned that into the best tasting bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich ever constructed! They also have wonderful, fresh tasting chocolate chip cookies. The service is, lets say "brisk", but efficient & not UNfriendly- just all business. Miss L herself can be seen at the first table sometimes, her warm smile is ever present. 2 or 3 small tables out front provide the perfect patio seating on a nice day. Shops are all around including boutiques and antiques to suit your fancy. I love Miss L s! A true hidden treasure in historic downtown Acworth. You have to try it!

The initial experience walking up is what you would want for a small town sandwich shop. You walk up to a small storefront with a cute sign and as you walk in the women behind the counter are busy prepping and working. With current times the lack of gloves/masks was disconcerting but its a relatively small town so I gave them a pass. The woman that greeted me was polite enough and bluntly walked me through the process of ordering including bread options etc. As I watched them prepare the food I realized most of the product was grocery store bought/pre prepared and considering the pricing of $8.95 for a sandwich + 3.50 for soup the amount of product I received was lackluster. I can get over that if the food is good, spoiler, its not worth the cost. The avocado on the sandwich I received was not sliced avocado as I expected but a mediocre mass production spread from a plastic container. The bacon and meats are about as general as you can get being boars head. Theyre definitely good meats but not enough to make up for the other issues. Also the sweet tea I ordered tasted like someone had brewed the tea with a few pieces of chewed mint gum in the strainer. Overall review: if you would like the taste of a cheap homemade sandwich with decent meats that you could make for a fraction of the cost but have the money to blow this is your spot.

Miss L’s is a great local restaurant! Everything my husband and I had was delicious..we had the chili, chicken salad sandwich, and the deluxe reuben sandwich. The owner is super nice and hospitable, and we plan to come back for sure! Check this place out if you haven’t already, you won’t regret it!

I’ve been coming here since I was 7 years old. I’ve come to know the owner Karen well over the years. To this day, this place still makes one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely love this place! The food, the staff is just top notch! The sandwiches are unlike anything you’d find at a chain restaurant . This small business is my favorite place to eat in downtown Acworth.

I have always loved this place I’ve been going there since I was a kid and always try to stop there every time I’m in Acworth but recently the staff has gotten very rude. I’ve even recommended this place to friends and they made the same comment about the staff seeming very agitated. The owner is very nice if she’s there then it is always good service. If you come in even an hour before they close they will make comments about having put everything up and only letting you get your food to go and then Sigh and huff and puff the entire time they make your sandwich. very awkward! They have even lied to me about what time they close to try to rush me. The sandwiches are great though

The BEST sandwich shop around. They are very nice and accommodating. If you want a good gourmet sandwich, THIS is the place to go.

Quiet atmosphere with their sandwiches being top notch. On top of making great meals they use BoarsHead meat which takes it from just getting a sandwich made to making sure that you have a delicious experience. I highly recommend it.

Best sandwiches in downtown Acworth will visit agin and agin anytime I’m in town. Have been coming here since I was a little kid. The number 2 is the best sandwich and the tea is a must and if you aren’t full by then than you must try the sweets.

Great place for a fantastic sandwich. I had the number 16 and it has walnuts, artichokes & sun dried tomatoes and pesto cream cheese with chicken breast and baby swiss. Very unique flavor. I had it on the sour dough bread which was nice and soft. I had the 1/2 sandwich and the wedding soup. Was about $11. I will be back!!! Pasta was awesome.!!

I liked it but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be more “gourmet” than a “house sandwich”. Now I’m not better than a house sandwich, but I reserve that fare for my own home. As for the shop itself it was very cozy, felt just like I was in my grandma’s kitchen! I ordered the roast beef on focaccia which was fine but it was a little too toasty dare I say burnt. The side items are very tasty but way too small. Overall a nice time, the ladies are friendly, and I love downtown Acworth!

Been away from home for a while & this sandwich 🥪 makes me feel like my momma made it!! The inside feels like your inside grandmas kitchen—so cozy. Such a cute find here in downtown Acworth!

Paid $61 for five sandwiches on plain white bread and a “shot glass size pasta salad. I could and should have gone to Publix and bought a pound of cold cuts and a loaf of bread for the price of one sandwich. Total letdown.

Nice ladies running this joint, but at the end of the day, there is nothing special about this sandwich. I was hopeful, but unimpressed. The soup sounded good, chicken enchilada, but meh.

Very friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious and very well put together. I also ordered the mint sweetened tea and it was so tasty and refreshing!

My family and I were stopping by for a bite to eat, we were going to go to another place nearby but decided to try Miss Ls. So glad we did. Charming little sandwich shop, food is fresh and delicious and the ladies behind the counter are as sweet as can be.

My husband and I love this little sandwich shop! We sometimes walk at the park (Logan Farm Parkon Saturdays and then stop in for a bite. I recommend the #10 on the menu - delicious! We like to sit outside when its warm (they have a few tables set up on the sidewalkbut the inside is very quaint. The experience is like stopping at a friends place for lunch - the ladies that work there are super friendly and Mrs. L herself is a delight!

We stopped here on the 2nd half of our roadtrip back from Philadelphia, PA to Lubbock, TX. This restaurant captures the essence of the Southern spirit: homey decor, welcoming arms, and dam good food. A definite stop for a good sandwich and nice conversation with the ladies that run the shop!

We love Miss Ls Sandwich Shop! The sandwiches are delicious combinations and stacked high. They get very busy at lunch so be patient... Its worth it!

My son and I were here for Perfect Game baseball and we ate here everyday. The sandwiches are spectacular. Mrs. L and her other ladies make you feel like your at grandmas house. Warm and welcoming. Always a nice comment to give you, just good ole sweetness. A must if your in the area.

I went here based on the reviews, and now seriously wonder if the reviews are actually "real reviews." Google disappointed me this time.The good: Friendly service. The ladies behind the counter were super nice, and greeted you with a smile. I would almost come back to this place based on their wonderful attitude.The bad: The sandwiches that my friend and I purchased were nothing more than store bought bread, with a little meat and cheese inside. Not hot, toasted, or piled high with beef - just an average sandwich that you would assemble yourself - by going to Kroger and picking up a loaf of bread + some lunch meat. Nothing more. We were absolutely shocked that the reviews for this shop were so high, based on the mediocrity of the sandwich.Our total was right just shy of $20 for two very basic sandwiches and one bottle of water. Menu price for sandwiches were $8.50 each, and Id guess the bottle of water was around $2-3. No chips or any side included. Too high.
