Trinidad, Paraguay, Ita
Historic site with extensive ruins of a 1700s Jesuit mission, with an evening sound & light show.
Thats a very interesting place with a very special atmosphere! The personnel is very nice and helpful. You can enjoy a free walk there, enjoy the ruins and the birds. Weve been also at some light festival, so we saw the ruins in the darkness with romantic lights and very beautiful music! 😍
Great site to visit. It’s vast and the church’s ruins testify of a splendid past which has now vanished on the ground.Still, some beautiful parts of this complex remain visible. It’s a pleasure to admire them and imagine what it could have been 250 years ago !The ticket includes the visit of 2 other ruins : Jesus de Tavarangue (close byand San Cosme. It also includes a guided visit every hour which I found very interesting to learn the historic part (very well summary in the little museum at the entrance). Entrance fee is 25,000 GUA.We visited the 2 sites on a day trip from Posadas by ourselves. We crossed the border with a “Collectivo” we took in Posadas downtown, and then hired a taxi in Paraguay for like 3 Hours to go and come back !
Iglesia Mayor is impressive and the map they have at the entrance is very useful to appreciate the different ruins.Smart idea to set up a walkway to avoid stepping on the original floor and still getting really close to the altar.Parking lot is quite big!
Great place to visit, recommended with a guide for translation and questions to the Guaraní indians. Theyre open to answer the questions, so it is possible to find out more details about their culture and life.
A must visit for anybody in Paraguay.
It took me 50 years to accomplish my dream. As I walked through these now abandoned buildings, I couldnt stop thinking about the film The Mission.
AMAZING!!!

Awesome
Ok
Nice spot and pretty well preserved ruins. It was pretty quiet the day we visited (maybe that’s Paraguay or maybe because it was 35 degrees out). Visitors would benefit from more detailed information on the actual site so you know exactly what’s what as you make your way around. Easily accessible by public transport and they accept card payment for tickets.
This is an overrated place, the only Unesco World Heritage Site in the country because otherwise Paraguay would be the only state in the world without a nominated site.A few walls, stones, nothing else. No soul, no beauty. Nothing there. Unless you never travelled and you get an wow facto everywhere. At least the ticket is accordingly affordable.

Very interesting place
Historically unique.
Beautiful ruins, with stunning structure and history of Paraguay.
Cool if youre passing!

Amazing
You need to see it with your own eyes!
I went by bus from Concepcion to visit the misiones in the area, easy to do combining public transport and cheap taxi services. I stayed for the night show and it was very beautiful. Staff is great, do not hesitate to ask for help or guidance. You can get free WiFi in all archeological sites. The history, philosophy and drive behind this amazing cities is truly mind blowing.
Nice cultural place.

Magic place
Beautiful ❤️
Fantastic!
Stunning and well preserved mission in paraguay. However, paraguayan tourism strategy seems to be just based in this place.. they need to find some other appealing things to see or activities to lure more tourists to the country and cease to be the "forgotten patch of south america"
This place was one of the highlights of my time in Paraguay. Very well preserved.
Very quiet and interesting site. One of many sites in Paraguay that are spectacular yet never busy due to the lack of tourism in the country. Check it out!
Great place.... worth the visit
Well-kept grounds, majestic ruins and incredible views make this a cant-miss stop along Rte. 6.
