Mision 19 - Restaurant in Ensenada, Mexico
Wonderful experience! Absolutely delicious! Great service(Sergio)! Only small negative was the music. Same relentless disco beat played in all of Tijuana. 😐
Spectacular! Every bit of our dinner experience was excellent. The service was great and the staff was friendly. Great recommendations for both food and drinks. The vibe was upscale without feeling stuffy or over the top.The food was amazing!!! We ordered the grilled octopus and salad for our starters. The octopus was the highlight of the entire meal. It was tender, full of flavor, and the sauce that was on it was perfect to dip the bread they bring around in.For our main courses we ordered the blue fin tuna and the filet mignon… top tier!Dessert, which we never order, was incredible! The bread pudding is a must order if you still have room for something sweet. The entire evening was excellent and we will definitely be back again.
Great resturant with great service. The food is delicious. It’s a bit expensive but we had great experience overall.
Amazing food and spectacular service. We ordered drinks, roasted bone marrow, aguachile, roasted duck, and the bluefin tuna and it was *chef’s kiss.*
Really good food I expected better place but is like for the society of tj.
Husband brought me to dinner here last night. The reviews looked great, so we were both excited. Unfortunately the food experience was disappointing. Maybe they were having an off night but the 6 course meal was not the best. The risotto had undercooked beans, my grilled octopus was chewy and my filet just lacking in flavor. My husband and I love eating great food and this just wasnt it.
Great cuisine. Congrats to the chef and staff. Really enjoyed the duck and the pork. Nice wine selection.
Brought my girlfriend here. It was the best dining experience in TJ until the cartel walked in. Apparently this is the spot 😳
High end cuisine. Ive been eating there for the past 12 years. Its Javiers Flagship restaurant. The BEST in Tijuana!
beautiful architecture and design throughout the building. the chefs choice plus drink pairing is incredible
Best Restaurant in Tijuana! Cant wait to go back!👍💯
Excellent customer service from the phone reservation to the exit... food absolutely exquisite. Alfredo did a wonderful job explaining each plate .
Fantastic paired tasting menu! Everything from the service, to the decor, to the fantastic paired wines and cocktails was excellent. HIGHLY recommended for an amazing dining experience here in TJ…
We had a delightful time at Misión 19. It was on the 2nd floor and we had to climb a short flight of stairs to get to reception area. Beautiful, modern industrial architecture. Appropriate COVID 19 measures upon entering. The hostess then led us to our table. The menu is obtained by scanning a barcode. We had the chef’s tasting menu with beer/ wine pairing. The six course meal was delightful and each subsequent course out did the previous. We were quite delighted and really enjoyed our meal. I enjoyed the description of the wine and food the waiter gave us prior to serving us. The staff was amazing and attentive. I plan on returning in the future. Definitely recommend!!!
The cocktails and food are excellent, if its your first time try the tasting menu, but its hard to go wrong. The waiters have great suggestions as well
This is probably top 3 restaurants here in Tijuana. You will be very surprised to see how exquisite the food actually taste. If your in town for something special roll by here and taste for yourself
Hands down one of top 5 restaurants in North America by my book. Establishment has modern décor and aesthetics. Food is exceptional along with presentation and creative approach in presentation. Tried the tuna tartare, grilled octopus, roasted beef bone marrow, wedge salad, and rib eye…all of them exceeded expectation. Must try if you are in Tijuana.
The food was awesome out of this world. The service was great of course. I was impressed to see that we got tortillas which is surprising for an upscale restaurant. The sangria became my top of all time and Ive tasted many since I love them the touch of cinnamon sticks was exquisite. To my surprise it was not super expensive.
This place is always a treat. One of my very favorite restaurants anywhere.
Great mixology, marakuja martini was amazing. Good food
i just ate at Mission 19, we ordered grilled octopus as appetizer and trips, fish with chorizo for dinner, everything was so delicious! good portions, ambience is good, the drinks are delicate and amazing, with a mexican touch, excellent for a date! or family! not overpriced ! fees are reasonable!
Quality 7/10Portion 5/10Temperature 5/10Service 8/10Speed 7/10Price 7/10Disapointing in regards to what it used to be 5 years ago. Orderd octupus entree; salty and only 2 tentacles, main dish filet mignon; overcooked and served warm-cold. Desert butterscotch mousse; average. Overall not worth returning nor recommending. Shame it was once my favorite restaurant.
Absolutely amazing everytime we go. Today we brought a party of 12 from San Diego for lunch and everyone was impressed.
Service is good, stout beer and ipa are great. Food is good, maybe a little overpriced for the portion size. You have to ask for water, it wont be offered. The presentation isnt very elaborate or decorated. The 6 course meal option portions are ridiculously small and youll leave hungry so just order a regular entree for 1/3 the price. The mezcal drink is very smoky and i couldnt finish it because of the taste.
5-star ingredients, presentation, and service at half the price of San Diego. It’s worth a trip across the border, and is a memorable dining experience. Once across the border it’s a $5 taxi or Uber ride and takes about ten minutes. The restaurant is in the LEED-certified Deloitte building. The salad was the freshest ingredients, as was the seafood. The cocktails are excellent.
Incredible restaurant in Tijuana that does what is best described as modern Mexican. Went for the degustation and really enjoyed it.
I really wanted to love this place (after watching the Anthony Bourdain episodeand the food was good, but it just wasn’t mind blowing! The ambiance was strange, which didn’t help— the vibe seemed more like a stuffy business lunch (and maybe that’s their target crowd?than a romantic night out. The restaurant was pretty much one wide open room. They could definitely improve by making more private tables with more nooks and higher booths. Although the food was a little disappointing, there were some really great local wines and the service was top notch.
Ive been there multiple times. Service is good. The execution of the dishes have been going down hill and inconsistent since the place opened. During my last visit food was only average. The dry-aged steak tasted and looked like a wet steak. Worst of all it was bland. Its embarrassing that a reputable restaurant can mess up a steak. The only dish that we liked was the risotto. Unfortunately, each visit the place has been a hit or miss. Lately they have been misses. Going forward I can no longer recommend Mision 19. There are better options in Tijuana and San Diego. This was a rare trip to Tijuana where I felt it was a waste of time.
Outstanding service and beautiful and delicious food
Great ambiance, great service, and even better food. Presentation was unique and they instruct you on how to best enjoy each dish. Theres nothing I could suggest different, it was an excellent dining experience!
Exquisite food, awesome variety! Lovely Ambience!
Best five star restaurant in Tijuana, but I would say one of the best five star restaurants in the world.
Lover this place. One of Tijuanas best upscale restaurants. They offer a great selection on wines and mixed drinks to start you off before eating an excellent 7 course meal. The service is excellent, the food presentation is excellent, the views are very nice. There is really nothing not to like about Mision 19. This is a great restaurant for those special nights. A sure way to get lucky afterwards.
Beautiful restaurant with great menu and delicious food. They accept you bring wine and charge a very reasonable corkage fee.
Weve been here three times now; the first time was amazing, the second time was just all right, and this last time was a real shame. The food quality has really become unacceptable for the prices they charge. The tuna in our appetizers was old and fishy, the octopus was spongy and tasteless, the sauces were bland, and the bone marrow was so overcooked that there was hardly anything to eat; the marrow had all melted away in the oven. The biggest disappointment was the tortillas, which were dried out, crusty, and tasteless. One star for the good service, another star for the decent cocktails and bread service, but zero stars for the food. We brought some friends with us this last time to give them another shot, but on the back of this experience, none of us will be coming back.
Something extraordinary and proudly local, organic, Mediterranean, artesanal.... you should come down and escape from traditional cooking to this chefs creations. There is so much to appreciate. Thank you chef Javier Plascencia for all your hard work and dedication. Here some pictures of my experience.
Best dining experience Ive ever had in Tijuana. Very attentive staff, food is exquisitely prepared and presented. Prices are fair for the quality, wine is a bit overpriced and I would choose to bring my own bottle next time.
The experience was great but the filet mignon was supposed to be medium rare and it was... but it wasnt very tender, and kind of chewy. The other food, tuna tartare, Brussels, pastas all were great tho.
Food and service both great. Menu was a bit confusing (even the English one). There was no English drink menu so that’s bad.
Amazing service and food relative to Tijuana baseline. Could use an updated compared to what’s available north of the border.
Great service with wonderful foods.
Very nice place. Good staff, and classy decor. The food is good, but unfortunately not what I was expecting. It tasted great, but it felt like i could get the same plate at any other restaurant. Not the unique taste i was expecting, although the plate presentation was very nice. The drink selection is great, a few hard to find wines on the list. Though I do recommend the Whiskey Vermouth Jamaica -or something like that, it was the highlight of the meal.
One of the best restaurants in Tijuana. Excellent service. Meals are outstanding. Try the duck or the bone marrow ...sounds wired but it’s truly delicious. Great wine selection. Quiet between 5pm - 7 pm. Crowded after 8pm.
The course was very fulfilling and enjoyed every single plate! It might be an expensive spot in Mexico, but its not too bad if you compare with the US. My boyfriend took me here and I was very happy he chose this place!Instagram📸:shihomatsuoka
fantastic food and helpful service! 100% going back! I ordered the 6 course classic meal and it was perfect. Even though the portions are small, they will fill you up so much!
Beautifully decorated restaurant. They have a very limited menu. Only one chicken item and its a baby chicken. 3 weeks old. I couldnt eat it but the 4 potatos and carrots it came with was very delicious. My sister in law didnt eat her meal either because she said the chicken skin was too soft. You have to go to the 2nd floor to get to the restaurant. Be careful Google maps thats you to a wall with no entrance. You have to drive around the corner to gain access to the restaurant.
Delightful food in modern atmosphere made for a great lunch and afternoon in Tijuana. The service was impeccable and I would gladly go back for the fish verde with beurre blanc sauce anytime!
Absolutely fantastic food with an intentional philosophy thats apparent. You can tell the chef is celebrating Tijuana and the cultures in the area. Highly recommend.
The food was a bit hit and miss here. The ambiance and decor is very good, but some of the dishes (such as the clamswere so salty as to be difficult to eat. If you are looking for a nice place out come here, and while some of the dishes were better than others, I was a bit let down overall.
Ive been here three times now and am still not a believer. Food is good but not better than any fine-dining restaurant you may find in San Diego. The restaurant is very cold (in design and literally just cold!). We had to dine with our jackets on each time and looking around the restaurant this was the norm. Service was also poor all three times (slow, inattentive and argumentativewhich I was really surprised by. I have been to many of the Plascencia Restaurants and have been impressed over-all but Mision 19 doesnt live-up to the hype.
