It’s not just great viewpoint with several directions of lookouts but also beautiful small garden. There is also at least 10 resting places where you can grill. And of course toilets.

Yet another beautiful "miraduoro" (observation pointin the northeastern part of Sâo Miguel island. Miraduoro da Pinta do Sossego (which translates as a "serenity place" offers unique and breath-taking views. Weather permitting, you can see Fajã do Araújo, Ponta da Madrugada and Ponta da Marquesa from here.

Amazing place. The view is stunning, the public garden is beautiful and well kept. There are facilities for barbecue, tables to sit around and even toilets. The most pleasant miradouro weve been to!

Gorgeous miradouro with very well maintained park full with wonderful flowers and a few cats. We found it by mistake and it’s probable one of the prettiest miradouro on the island!

Stunningly beautiful miradouro on the far east of Sao Jorge Island. We were there around sunset which is probably the time when the colors are at their most beautiful (although you never see the sunset here, as youre looking to the east). There is the possibility to have a BBQ here.

Gorgeous views and flowers. Many tables are available if anyone wants to have a picnic overlooking the ocean. There was also a really cute kitten when I went. I think there are public toilets but I didnt get a good look. Also, plenty of parking. Definitely a great place to stop

Awe inspiring location within a lush manicured landscape. Plenty of parking and there is often a food truck selling beverages and snacks near the entrance.

A nice elevated viewpoint over the ocean. A convenient WC, albeit quite small but does the job. Many cats about, who may or may not like you unless you bring fish, chicken or kibble. Then - look out! lots of friends.

Beautiful place which is lovingly tended to. Had some great shaded places to eat and barbecues.There is also a group of feral cats who like to sleep around the area.

This isnt just a viewpoint, its a great and relaxing picnic and garden area. Youd need to visit it to truly understand how beautiful and charming this place is. Its greatly designed to be able to host big picnics in different spots for families and to offer great views of the country. The garden is beautiful and very well maintained. Its easy to spend hours there and not see time passing by.

An amazing viewpoint at the eastern side of the island of São Miguel. You can relax and enjoy the natural environment. Its also an ideal place to launch and walk through the garden. Many tourists prefer it for planning a catering ceremony.

Beautiful spot. Picnic areas, and a few different levels and gardens to explore. Look out for the resident cats and birds.

Great stop for spectacular views but be aware that you will find a lot of other people on this lookout. Afternoon time is usually better as most of the tour buses will already have passed. Good spot to launch your drone if you happen to have one.

If you’re looking for a spectacular sunrise view in Sao Miguel, this is it (though we unfortunately came on a cloudy sunrise day). If you’re looking for a place to bring your family for a picnic and barbecue this is DEFINITELY it.Just outside the viewpoint there are a few parking lots available (they are alongside the main road). Be careful!The garden itself is beautifully manicured and maintained. Studded throughout the area are pavilions and picnic tables, each with their own cement grill and series of trash cans. Interspersed among them are little viewing booths for the dramatic coastlines.PS: there are some adorable and very friendly stray cats just waiting for attention and food. They make for great photography models hahaPPS: my favorite picnic table set-up is tucked down a small set of stairs on the south side of the park. Out of the way and with a breathtaking view!
