Minato Yakitori in Puch'on

Glad they are open on a public holiday as they are usually closed on Mondays. Got a good yakitori for lunch or dinner in Puchong. Price is reasonable and portion is just nice. Place is spacious but parking is a bit hard to get, just have to park further away and walk over.Love the bacon or pork yakitori. Tasty. It is our second visit and we enjoyed it. Service is also good. Best to make a reservation before coming, usually full house especially dinner time. Come early or just call before coming is best.

Been here twice and Im happy to say that this is a nice find in Bandar Puteri.Theres many affordable set options to choose from, many priced below RM 20. I had the curry katsu don set, which was filling and nice. The curry was on the sweeter side, even for Japanese curries. Personally Id prefer my Japanese curry on the spicier side. On my second visit, I had the chashu rice set, and it was equally as nice.The highlight on both visits were the fried oyster. The batter was light and crispy, and the osyters tasted fresh. We also had some yakitori items and they were pretty nice. We liked the grilled lamb skewers.I wouldnt recommend the sashimi items though. Its fresh, but not great. Portion is lacking for the sashimi too.Do note that it gets quite packed during peak hours. Coming alone or as a couple works best as youll be able to find counter seats rather easily. Anything more than 2 pax will require you to wait for a table, which may take 30 mins or more.

I decided to drop in for a light lunch and beer the other day. It was a hot day and I dont really want a heavy lunch. So Yakitori is naturally a good choice. As you can see, I forgot to take the pictures of the food before we finished it. Anyway, it was tasty. The service was prompt and the ambience on the first floor was cozy. The price is reasonable. Overall, a good place to dine while taking a break. Oh, by the way, the portion of the Yakitori could be more generous but I guess it must be the inflation that hit us recently. Everything shrunk!

1. Food : 5 star. The menu offered a great variety of choices, with a myriad of set food combinations. Almost all the yakitori were scrumptious and well grilled, especially the chicken ball and pork belly. The rice was soft and authentic Japanese rice from short translucent grains. The broth of the miso soup was also tasty and well cooked.2. Portion : 5 star. Very generous compared with other similar Japanese restaurants. The miso soup also was not just clear soup but came with considerable portion of seaweed, tofu, onion and other ingredients.3. Ambience : 4 star. The restaurant was situated on first floor with indoor BBQ kitchen, but the ventilation was surprisingly good. Almost not smoky at all. The whole place gave great aesthetic pleasure and Japanese feel, with substantial decorations and adornments. It might not be spacious, but the arrangement of seating had nonetheless made it cosy and never felt congested.4. Service : 5 star. The warm food was duly served within 15 min from time of order. The waiters and waitresses were pretty occupied during peak meal hours but never failed to attend to our requests. It was a full house weekend and there was a long queue of customers waiting outside the restaurant but the waitress in charge managed to get us and every customer in front of us seated within a short period of waiting time of about 15-20 min.5. Price : 5 star. Amazing to learn that not only the owner did not increase the prices of the menu items after the MCO, the portions of the food also remained the same as the pre-MCO time. Kudos to the management of the restaurant. Most of the set food items were priced between RM15 and RM19, definitely so much competitive than many other Japanese restaurants offering the same type of food.6. Location : 3 star. Surrounding area was very jammed, and parking a real hassle. However, there were ample parking lots around and a nearby parking could be secured by arriving early before peak meal hours.OVERALL : 5 STARS

Service was good. The time taken for them to serve our food was quite fast (5-10 minutes varying on what you order). Cheaper than most restaurants Ive been to and the quality of the food is quite good given the price. But the parking was quite hard to find 😅 Besides parking, I would really recommend if you are planning to celebrate birthdays or having a gathering! Sadly, I did not take photos :(

Sashimi was rather pricey and limited. Unagi don had little to no sauce today. Was 5 stars before... maybe because its busy? Not sure but food was nothing great today.

Very affordable and valued set meals to your main course. We had noodles & added on as below.Main attractionsl is their Yakitori, as suggested by their name. Tried their scallops at RM5.50 per stick with 5 whole scallops, delicious. Other choice includes chicken, pork belly, varieties of mushrooms and veges.. And please try their chicken tail, one of the best part of chicken & be assured, well processes without special taste.

Come here as recommended . Come at odd time , like me 9:15pm and can easily find a seat.Service : one of the most attentive I ever seen. The helpful lady waitress even offer to increase temperature after seeing me shivering. 👍👍Food: don’t be other with the don set. I ordered the scallop set: very disappointing. Minato Yakitori is located upstairs, right opposite the famous Foo Hing Dim Sum.We had set meals. Pork belly set lunch is decent. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was modern Japanese.Sashimi was decent, you get what you pay for.

Highly recommend even I rated 4 stars only! Please call to make reservation as their dinner time quite crowded and I believe if walk in, you might need to queue. Eventhough many review mentioned to try their chicken soft bone, but honestly speaking....please NOT order if you are not that food lover. A rare 5 stars for its great value for money.Yakitory sauce is so smoky and flavourful, everything is made to order - freshly grilled, freshly fried. Ingredients are of good quality and grilled to perfection. But nothing beats the price! So reasonable for such good portion sizes, even drinks are reasonably priced.Service is fast despite a full house and everything made to order, staff even sanitise seats between guests which is so rare nowadays. Will definitely dime again

One of the best joints in town. Staffs are friendly and pleasant. The boss/owner/chef himself is a cool guy.We once stayed until closing and he even offered us a bottle of sake of our choice!Food is nice and delicious! Highly recommended for those who are looking for a place to hangout with good food and ambience.

Located on the upper floor of a 3 storey shop lot, this Japanese restaurant serves your usual Japanese dishes, however, some of the menu is a cross/fusion with other Asian cuisine that really makes this place well work a visit.Theres an open-styled kitchen where you get to see for yourself how the foods are being prepared and it is something youll only get to experience at top notch Omakase Japanese restaurant.Crowds tend to be high on peak hours so try to be there early.Definitely coming back again to sample more of the dishes available.

The food is nice but service are bad, last week went for celebrate father day one of us order set menu during the period, been asked several times when the food would come, the staff go and check but never get reply. In the end, everyone else had finished the food, including the last call add order food. Then only the staff said the food is finish should you replaced by something else?If you forgot to place an order at starting, you should tell the customer honestly and ask if you want to change other food or give some time to prepare now. Not keep stalling time until the end

Place has strong smoky smell. Long queue during peak hours. Food taste ok, some too salty, but is well cooked (not dry). Garlic fried rice is more like ginger fried rice. The ginger too overpowering, cant taste the garlic at all.

Love the food, and the part of the bbq choices. Somehow the set meal dinner taste resembled chinese way of cooking. Only drawback is location at 2nd floor. Need to use stairs( small n narrowfor elderly.Came today after near 3 years never frequent since mco. Still crowded. Came around 6pm and need to queue for seats. Must try the yakitori. Nicely grilled with variety of choices available. Food served fast. Fried squid okok. Onigiri was grilled too, size of a spoon shown, taste normal only. Preferably do a reservation if you are coming in groups.

Very happening restaurant and very nice food! Surprisingly they got sell "deep fried chicken soft bone"! This is very rare found from elsewhere in KL. Taste is good, price is very friendly! The only downside is space not too big, thus have to wait in long queue. Will definitely come back again despite long queue!

Finally had the chance to try this Japanese Yakitori restaurant after seeing a queue here last month while dining at Harbour Steamboat downstairs. It was a Sunday lunch hour and luckily it was not full. Most people frequent that area for the overrated and overpriced dim sum opposite of Minato I guess.Tried the curry karaage set, buta Niki set and crispy fried shrimp. Price was quite affordable and the portion+quality was on point. It wasnt spectacular but it exceededy expectations given the price point. Didnt try any Yakitori items, will do so next time. Menu was not as extensive as other Japanese restaurant such as Ito but I guess thats not required when you deliver on the quality of food served rather than amount of choices. Case in point is the awful Rotary Sushi in Puchong Jaya. Will be back again soon to try more items on the menu.👍👍

Service was good. Food nice with reasonable price. But disappointed to see the side dish vege served was already rotten. Hopefully its just this time.

First visit for lunch, good environment. The set meal such as udon and pork belly don was a bit disappointing, udon taste quite blend. Yakitori was great, scallops, lamb, chicken breast etc all taste nice and juicy. Overall satisfied, because the Yakitori was so good for the price.

The restaurant queue is very long for peak hours and it is quite packed. Its better to book in advance. The taste of this scallop don is just average but i like their yakitori. Their yakitori taste delicious and the price is reasonable.The environment was pretty nice and cozy and their staff are quite friendly. The best part is the my hair did not smell like bbq as their airflow is done pretty well.

Varieties of yakitori, non-halal. Overall, affordable place for yakitori. Pork belly, hotate and quail eggs yakitori are yummy. Many choices on the menu. Food is fresh and service is prompt. One of my favourite japanese restaurant in Puchong.

this is my go-to favourite yakitori place of all times! theyre open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant has a chill bar type environment with an open kitchen so those sitting at the counter can watch the chefs prepare dishes! the food here is SPOT ON! my personal favourites are the pork belly don (solid 10/10), lamb skewer, tiger prawn skewer & their cucumber juice is super refreshing! they have a huge variety of choices on the menu, all great for individual or for sharing. be sure to come early if youre planning to have dinner here as it gets packed 7pm onwards, or book a reservation ahead of time if you can!

The restaurant was pretty packed, a lot of customers at peak hours!Food was great, decent price and quick service!If you are late, be prepared for some waiting time as the restaurant is pretty busy with take away, delivery and in-house orders! Book in advance will be better.The environment was cozy, great for catch-ups and some alcohol. Though the bbq rack was in the restaurant, the airflow was great, cool temperature and no bbq smell lingering.Must try the enoki mushroom wrapped with pork, the mushrooms were juicy and the meat was tender! The chicken and leek was delicious too! Overall food was not dry, not heavily seasoned and satisfying.

Food was delicious and price was very reasonable. The roasted chicken, beef etc has a really smoky and nice texture, making it really delicious to eat. The fried oyster has a bit of a explosive feeling when you bite into it, recommend it. The asparagus was too expensive for its taste and portion. Salmon set was nice and sashimi cutting was okay, Saba fish was really nice, has a smoked taste and just great to indulge it.

Serving a number of Japanese variety sets with very reasonable price. First-time having my fried salmon and tempura ebi here ....sliced fried salmon quite thin with sweet soysauce, taste just so-so. But theyre famous of their yakitori....yakitori here is amazing, many selections with affordable price, fresh and big portion.Kinda izakaya-styled restaurant...offering liquors and beers as well. Quite a nice arrangement with outdoor balcony and indoor dining.

Came here for the first time for a Christmas lunch with my family. The environment here is great and so is the food! The katsu curry is on the sweeter side but the heat is just nice! The star of this restaurant is their skewers! Cooked to perfection, but with many of their skewer items unavailable, it is a little disappointing. Overall atmosphere of the store is great! It is good for gatherings with friends and family, but can be a little noisy with more people gathering in small enclosed environment. The air conditioning is great if you’re along the aisles, can be a little warm if you are seated near the windows. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful especially with services like confirming my booking before the appointed time. Overall deserves a four (4star rating from me with room to improve! Would definitely come back again!

One of the affordable places for grilled food. Packed during dinner even in weekday. You can call in to reserve seat.The beef and drumstick meat skewer is awesome. Has sake too, its cold 1.

Wonderful place for some yakitori and good Japanese food. Prices are affordable and the place packs up even during a weekday night so best to book your table in advance.I had the Teriyaki Salmon set, very lovely while my friend had the cold soba, nice but he said my is more value for money.The yakitori are nice too but the wait for food might take a while.

Highly recommended by my colleague as the food is fresh & not expensive. The tuna salad is really juicy and the vegie is fresh. The main dish that I have ordered is salmon set & saba fish, both really fresh and no fishy smell, price also reasonable. The grill okra & enoki mushroom with bacon really delicious. With all of these with one hot green tea & cucumber juice, the total bill only cost me RM70+. Really worth it and will visit again.

But I think they are short of staff, especially at the party area which some of the tables cannot paging the staff, need to consider the paging system for some tables.Comfortable when come to eating street food with table serve service.main hall quite smokey (grilling foodpoor ventilation, whereas party area is very much Ok. Visited for late dinner at around 9pm on a Saturday night, not too crowded. Staff are friendly and helpful. The place is suitable for family dinners or gathering with friends. But being on the first floor, its not too spacious, so if youre coming in a big group, do call to reserve.The rice set is value for money, and really tasty. Unagi don could use a bit more gravy, yakitori don is worth trying. The lamb shoulder and whole squid was ok. Yakitori is like Japanese satay, some of them are just so-so and some are exceptionally delicious. Hot ocha is refillable.
