Miller's Crossing - Bar in Helena, United States
Miller's Crossing in Helena
Description
Great clam chowder on Friday.
Food was amazing I had cod and best fish I had in a long time millers crossing has best food in town
MoreWas fun night very happening from 8 to 12
I heard the ad on the radio and also from an acquaintance about how good the fish and chips were. My wife and I decided to try them. She had the fish and chips while I had the pork chili and onion rings. Never again. Her f&c were nothing more than a pile of greasy French fries and a few tiny pieces of soggy, mushy fish. My chili was mediocre and my onion rings came on a plate with every piece of burnt batter from a fryer basket in a pile beside them. The onion rings were like eating raw flour paste. There was a layer of uncooked flour coating beneath a burnt batter. The place was not at all busy so it can’t be blamed on that. I did not eat the onion rings and was not charged for them but payed for the rest. I won’t be going back.
MoreMillers is a great space. Open and fun for all.
Excellent service and good drinks with a handsome and wonderful bar tender.
Loved the food. Service was great. Only issue I had was the bathroom was out of paper towels and only one of the two bathroom stalls had toilet paper. I found myself in a very bad position, if you know what I mean. I had to ask the person in the other stall for some toilet paper and they gave me what they could. Saving grace was when I went out and said something they stocked it right away. Yeah
MoreRustic bar with full menu of classic bar food. Helpful staff and fair prices.
Great had the crossing berger, nice flavor, had it with a salad just right. Wont wait so long to go back.
MoreWent in there late evening when the heavy set black haired lady and dishwasher blond younger lady were bartending. I ordered a expensive michelobe ultra, the younger lady was very short with me and ignored me when I said thank you. She then went back to talking to five dudes that were sitting at the other side of the bar, bragging about how many nights a week she likes to party. "OK FINE" went downstairs to shoot pool and in fact shot four games, not once was I offered another beer. However a Mexican dude walked back there and made eye contact like he was checking on me. I at least thought that was funny and it brightened my mood. My 1 star goes to the daytime regulars that go in there, they are fun to talk to.
MoreBeen here a couple times now and everyone here is so friendly!! Drinks are probably the cheapest youll ever find. They play good music too!
MoreService was great...but...I had the pulled pork sandwich. It tasted weird. Either 1the meat was tainted, 2I got the covid and lost sense of taste, or 3there are spices in the meat that are just not right. Im really hoping for #3. The parmesan garlic fries were just okay. Very disappointing meal. But, like I said, great service.
MoreDrinks and food. Food was good overall. Had South Park chicken tenders - could have had more buffalo sauce but cooked perfectly. Also had big ol basket of fries with garlic parmesan - could of had more seasoning and wasnt "big".
MoreService was very good and the food was better than we had hoped. We had the fried mushrooms to start (the batter was fantastic)! My husband had the Amburger ( mushrooms w/ swisscooked to perfect medium rare with the Santa fe fries. I had the Green Chile burger also cooked to the perfect medium rare with Santa fe fries. There is a good selection of beers to choose from.
MoreBrought my family in here and had good food, cold beer, and great service. The bacon wrapped pork skewers are too good!
MoreOpen mic was fun, wings were great, the cool bartendress makes great drinks for me every time!
MoreReally fun bar! Great beer selection, awesome service and lots to do! Pool, darts, a jukebox-well be back!
MoreExcellent service and a good size bar with a stage, pool tables and darts to go with your favored beverage!
MoreGreat service and the food was good! Quiet and relaxed atmosphere!!
Nic and Georgia are perfect hosts. They make everyone feel comfortable and laid-back. They both are very diplomatic handling any of the customers concerns.
MoreMillers is amazing, plain and simple. Been going for years and my husband and I wouldnt go anywhere else for pool, excellent beer, laid back relatable music and fun memorable experiences. Everyone seems to be following current rules and regulations, making sure to keep patrons safe, and themselves while creating fun, unique, memorable experiences. Check them out! Downtown Helena is right up close and personal to Millers so come on down to downtown Helena and live a little, experience a lot, and love even more. And the waitresses sure know how to make an experience as well. Ask her about the local beer on tap. You wont be disappointed by the beer or the waitress.
MoreI was in the casino lounge and I wanted something to eat. So I went to the counter and waited for over 20 minutes the manager helped 5 people that came up after me she finally helped me and she yelled and asked if I had a tab open I said no and she said well then do you have cash on you o said yes told her that I wanted nachos and a bowl of chili. I asked for extra meat and cheese on my nachos and she said no then said fine. She literally walked past me 7 times and didnt seem to see me cause I had move out of the way there was plenty of room for her to walk. I feel that she doesnt care anymore and I hope that the owners find someone else to be the manager. This is not right and I feel discriminated against as a person. Thanks millers I have been going here for 5 years I hate this place and the way she yells at people. She is so rude.
MoreRude rude rude. Bigger girl with black curly hair. As a small business owner I would fire this person. I’m sad as a I am in the same business.
MoreThe prices were reasonable, the staff was friendly, the restrooms were clean, the decor was exactly what I like and expect out of a bar, and they were able to make my favorite drink: A moscow mule, but with raspberry vodka. No complaints at all; this is just the sort of place I was looking for.
MoreA definite go to! Best food! Best hospitality! We found this spot on a day trip from GREAT FALLS last year, returning after covid. They did everything right while being restricted and served up the most awesome food as before. Thank you for returning and going above and beyond to make your guest happy. KUDOS!!!
Morei love this place!!! ive been here once but the atmosphere and the food and the pool tables, such a great place
MoreSuch a great staff. I went in a night they had music and the band was awesome. Ill be back
MoreOnly one hard working waitress when we were there. The food was good. The place seems a little bit tired, kind of like a song that you have heard too many times. The Windbag is a better choice.
MoreDoes the job. Consistently poor service. Dark and dingy atmosphere, but they charge top dollar for drinks. I want to like this place, but its a dive that acts like its a 5 star but clearly isnt.
MoreGoing back to speak to a manager about a female bartender last night being appallingly rude to my boyfriend and I for no reason and refused to serve us even though we both had VALID ID. Sorry you had a bad day, but don’t take that to work and tell customers off. Never ever coming back to this place. Bravo 👏🏻
MoreNice place to go on a Friday night or lunch during the week. Its older, it looks it. It has good food and drinks for a readonable price. It had a good sized menu. Not fancy.
MoreBartender made the best Real margarita from a scratch - no bottled mix, though I am certain they have that too. Then, we ordered up some French fries. What a surprise--- those were Real potatoes, good quality russets, not starchy, not pre-frozen and deep fried to perfection. I keep thinking about returning for another afternoon delight.
MoreThe food is delicious. I have the cod & fries, oh my! The best fries I ever had, the fish are not greasy.
MoreGreat service, friendly and helpful. Burger very good, fries pretty limp (greesee!). Band just okay, but fun at least. Had a good time critiquing them. Would go back for sure, no fries though.
MoreClassic Helena bar. Outstanding service. Atmosphere is a little dated. Good bar food menu. The Cuban brick burger is solid. Formerly known for live music. Still has some live music but much less these days. Lots of room in the back to hang out and shoot pool. Conveniently located just off the famous "last chance gulch" and the downtown walking mall. Serves many locally brewed beers.
MoreWent to Millers for my 30th. Most entertaining night of my life. Great locals, good beer, and pool tables. What else could you want?
MoreIt’s tough to find a better martini in town. I love the fish and chips and the always have great local music. Bartenders here are some of the best around.
MoreA solid bar. The whole thing could use some upgrades as the last time I was in there it looked exactly like the first time I walked in there over 4 years ago. But, it always has a great selection of beer and they cook a better burger than most restaurants in town.
MoreTried to eat at a place in Readers Alley but they were closed so we walked down the street and as we passed Millers Crossing they had their menu posted in the window. EVERYTHING on it sounded good so we went in. Had some delicious local beer on tap and shared a few entrees among ourselves. Our waitress was very friendly. The bar itself was clean and orderly looking. Crowd was smaller and watching sports on the TVs. would definitely come back. (visit Sept 22, 2018)
MoreVery comfy atmosphere. Friendly and cheerful staff. Great food and great selection of local beers.
MoreMy experience here was very mixed. I arrived around lunch with 3 other tables already seated with one large party in the mix. Although the waitress was nice enough I did feel a rather standoffish vibe coming from her. It may of been that I brought kids into a not so kid friendly environment. I was warned it would be around half an hour until we got our food. So it took well over an an hour to get our food and another table that came in after us was served first. Had my experience ended here I would have left a one star review. When we did finally get our food I was extremely impressed by the quality. The food was very good, and everything tasted fresh. The quality brought my review from a 1 star to 4 star, however I would not go here for food during peak hours, or if you are in a hurry.
MoreWhen you walk in, this is a very nice open bar. There are pool tables, casino machines, and other games in the back. I came in for lunch on a Wednesday and there was 8 people in the bar. We sat down and waited for menus. We were only given 3 menus for 5 people but there were not that many people in the bar in the first place. Our server was nice but the food was so slow. We had an hour for lunch and needed to leave 45 minutes later and ask for our food to go. I ordered the bbq sandwich and it was ok. The Parmesan garlic fries... Very gross. I did not like them. They were old and gross tasting. At least the ranch was good. I dont think I would eat here again. The food was not good enough to pay for again. I would maybe grab a drink or play a game of pool here but thats about it.
MoreI stopped in here while visiting Helena. Just an average run of the mill local bar. They had a nice Trivia Tuesday night that brings in a full house. Food is average as bar food goes. They serve okay quality salads for slightly higher prices. Drinks come promptly and are made decently well. Crowds are mixed with average ages between 25 & 45 depending on time of day and events in the bar. Overall not a bad place to hang.
MoreGreat waitress every Tuesday. Holly is awesome knows exactly what we like wjen we come it. She is amazing!
MoreIt used to (20 years agohave a better reputation for good food. Since then, Millers Crossing has changed owners a few times and the food menu has changed. Their pizza was great - now theres very strong competition nearby. For me personally, Id like to see some more vegetables/green options. On my most recent visit the attentiveness and service were still good, as was the beer, but the food left a bit to be desired. Seasoned fries were overcooked and dry (and no amount of garlic or Parmesan cheese can mask that). The lighting inside was too dim to read the menu and the music was too loud to carry on a decent conversation. I appreciate the variety of live bands and entertainment (trivia quizzesprovided. If youre not too bothered about eating well then its a good venue but Helena has so many other good places to go too.
MoreThe bar tenders are really nice here, and the live bands are cool. Unfortunately I have had some creepy encounters here on multiple occasions.
MoreGreen chili and garlic fries. Good Montana bar atmosphere with plenty of local beers. Staff is always friendly. The real "hometown bar" in Helena for certain.
MoreGreat barfood, try the special. Their beer selection is great, and theyve even got some of Helenas best live music.
MoreI have a friend that plays in 10 Years Gone and they perform here every now and then and its a great environment to meet new people, have some drinks, and just relax and enjoy some live music.
MoreTrivia on Tuesday nights is a great time, good beer selection, great, friendly bartenders and fairly priced food all in one place. Its not the fanciest place in town, but definitely one of my favorites.
