Millennium Monument - Monument in East Chicago, United States
Located in Wrigley Square adjacent to the Cloud Gate sculpture, this is a nice, quiet-ish area to relax and get away from it all. With the constant sound of water crashing down from the small fountain at the center it washes out a lot of the city noises one would expect being right next to Michigan Avenue. Come check out this underrated spot while you’re visiting The Bean!
Well it says it’s open 24 hrs but it’s not, there is siege all around it at night and no one can walk and look at it
Quiet place in the Downtown Chicago.
Really cool park with so many things to see. The memorial is really cool to look at, but the fountain in front was not working, which would have made it look so much better.
Don’t miss this, it’s tucked into the corner of Millennium Park. Nice quiet spot.
Pretty cool. First time visitors.
The area is very clean and relaxing. It was not crowded when I visited and everyone seemed friendly. I would definitely recommend this area for a peaceful stroll! Oh and the monument is truly beautiful!
Great place. Get here early for less people and better picture opportunities.
I am really into fountains and pillars so this was a must see for me.
Beautiful little fountain. Can take pictures of at anytime & its also a great background scenery for a picture.
This is a fantastic place to sit down and relax, there are benches a water fountain and great views of sky scrapers from the park. Definitely a place to let your toddler run around and burn some energy!
Metallic bean in millennium park, downtown Chicago.
Millennium Monument is in the Wrigley Square of the Millennium Park in the middle of Chicago Downtown, surrounded by all the skyscrappers. The 40 ft high monument is a nearly full-sized replica of the semicircle of 24 paired Roman Doric-style Limestone columns (called a peristyle). The diameter of the semicircle is 80 ft.The pedestal of the peristyle is inscribed with the names of the 115 financial donors (including Oprah Winfrey). It is adjacent to a large lawn and a public fountain. The fountain is a bronze-cast replica of the finials that adorn the Wrigley Building.I went there during a December night, so you can understand how cold was the place at that time. We saw the giant Christmas tree in front. Free admission. Enough Parking, but crowdy. If you are visiting Chicago, this should be the number one on your visiting list. Highly recommend it.
Fun place. Hard to get a group pic here.
These columns make you wonder about the history.
Even during windy winter day, it is quite nice place to walk and have some fun
nice place to walk around n take pic
Very nice piece of Chicago and is very nice to take pictures and walk around on a mild day.
Take a stroll through millennium park and get this iconic photo, such a great area for the avid photographer.
Beautiful classic architecture structure in milllenium park adjacent to the bean. Don’t miss it!
Wonderful tourist destination
Stunning and fun
A cool little place to stop by, one of the standard sights at the park. It’s not the prettiest fountain in town; you’ll find that at Buckingham. But it’s still a pretty sight and you should stop by if you’re already in the park.
A nice side area with beautiful fountain. Great place to sit and take in the garden area which are very well maintained. There are also some great views of Michigan Ave. The cultural center across the street has some amazing architecture inside. A must see.
Bring your camera! One of many nice photo opportunities. Also a nice place to just sit and people watch.
The names on the wall include the likes ofOprah and the Clintons. Good photo spot.
This was such a great spot for a walk I also love the monuments and how the water was so close by the park was clean and overall I felt safe.
Beautiful walk this past Spring 2019 at the Millennium Park Monument in Chicago. A beautiful tribute!
Love the ice skating ring the bean is so cool it feel cool it ,the view off the bean is great.
This Roman Doric-style or peristyle dual columns lined up in a semicircle is a replica of a monument that originally sat between 1973 and 1953 close to where it is now at Millennium Park. This is a must see when you visit the park and its other landmarks, like the Cloud Gate or "The Bean".
A nice spot to stop and cool off with the family. Be sure to check out the “bean” and the waterfall fountains just a few hundred feet away.
Beautiful Architecture in Millenium Park. I love this city. This place is always clean and is the perfect place to just be with family and take pictures.
Great monument! Get’s you that welcoming feeling to Millennium Park!
Nice beautiful iconic place to visit
Very simple monument that you will enjoy passing.
Great spot for cool pictures
Great place to visit when you are in Chicago, a well maintained park with many iconic tourist atttractions
Great part of the park. Great for photos during day or night.
Such a cool thing to see, especially on a sunny day in Chicago. Bring your camera and get some pictures underneath for sooner cool effects!
My favorite part of this monument and fountain are all the homeless people and derilicts wading in the pool for change. "Hey, dude in the fountain, got change for a dollar? "
Millenium Park serves as a public art venue, home to the famous reflective Cloud Gate sculpture, and a showcase for postmodern architecture. Visitors can ice skate in winter, catch musical performances at Harris Theater or visit the Crown Fountain.
Love this place its perfect to take a picture and take it with you back to home.
Love Chicagos outdoor parks and spaces. This is definitely one you should visit!
Good replica..
Located in downtown Chicago near the famous metal "jelly bean", this monument is a great place to stop and take a break from the busy scenery.
