Militärkantine in Herisau

We were there for a family brunch. It tasted good and It was delicious but not much. So If you are starving, It is not a place to get full for that price that you pay.

Live music, tasty food and good selection of drinks on a beautifully green terrasse. The building itself is an architectural masterpiece. Highly recommended 👍

The best lark, in the park; and the food is good from the finish to the start.

Quirky place with nice simple but tasteful decoration. Located in a beautiful historic building. Great breakfast. Appreciated not having a TV in the room. Funny little soap in the shape of the building included in the room.

I was there for a funeral catering, very nice location, atmosphere was good. Food was good.

You need to have time to sit and wait for service, food and drinks here sadly.It has potential and a beautiful location right next to the park, but have patience and be okay with the odd rude waiter.

We went to the Militärkantine for our Xmas dinner with friends, a group of close to 20 people. Although we ordered à la carte, the food arrived promptly and had a wonderful home made feel to it. The location is cool, the bathroom was very clean, staff was friendly and fast: could not ask for more for such a big party. Thank you!

Excellent and lively restaurant with many house specialties and desserts. Try the spinach lasagna. The rooms carry on the minimalist design of the military canteen originally housed here. No TV but each guest gets an iPad. Room 4 has a balcony and spacious windows. Very enjoyable stay.

If you can get room 21, the view is amazing!

Very old-fashion hotel, very clean, very nice service, nice breakfast with nice staff - I don;t know anything about the price, as my room had been paid. big restaurant - old-fashion (which I personally like very much:-)

Went for a brunch. Decent food and environment. The staff seemed a bit slow and it took multiple attempts to get their attention.

Its sort of strange place the rooms are very functional no tv, but they are very clean and give the impression of being very well maintained.The restaurant is set up for communal dining so large tables and youll quite often get other people day at your table not normally somewhere I would like but the place to me had a wonderful warm welcoming atmosphere. The food was outstanding, they only have a very small menu but its all seasonal changes daily, and dessert is homemade cakes pastries and ice cream.Id definitely stay here again has good public transport links into town

The hotel is a historic place in St.Gallen. Nowadays it is completely renovated - very lovely. If you look for something individual and special - go here. You will feel like home. The rooms are cozy but small in size.

Came here for Sunday brunch. Ambience was nice and relaxed and food was good. It wasnt too crowded either which I liked.

Stellar hotel and restaurant. Particularly if you want to steer away from the Radisson type uniform of hotels without any personality. Old original floorboards, beautifully put together interiors with vintage furniture. The staff are lovely. Dont forget to ask about the building, its history and how they started. The menu changes and is always delicious and perfect. We had a wonderful time. P.S. They make real coffee!

Hospitality, food & Charme at its best. Cultural events on a regular basis and centrally located (within 5-10 mins walk you reach all the cities highlights by foot. Whenever I stay in St. Gallen over night or Im looking for a place to eat, Militärkantine is my first choice!

Nice place to be. You can just sit outside and enjoy a drink and be happy about sutch a lovley place. Nice staff and nice food also!go there if you want to calm down a bit during the day or in the evening to an event if they have some.

A beautiful hotel with very nice staff. The breakfast, which goes until 11am is not to be missed. And the soap, produced at a traditional manufactory nearby, is stellar! The building used to be the quarters of the high-ranking officers of the Swiss Army. The rooms are big and sunlit. I had a wonderful time at this exceptional place.
