Mike's Hot Dogs - Hot dog restaurant in Schenectady, United States
The food was good and the people were really nice
Excellent food fantastic service wish I lived closer
Made to order, great dogs with sauce! Always have to have one unwrapped because I know Im eating it on the way home. Great prices as well and friendly service.
Good food at a good price definitely going back
Nice place in Schenectady that’s been around for quite awhile. This is the place to go for a basic hot dog and fries. Staff are nice and friendly. Quirky, old school place. Excellent.
Great spot for breakfast. Fast, friendly, hot and delicious food. Very convenient if staying at the casino.
Went there after years not going food was great and still is went for breakfast for my wifes Birthday Loved the breakfast
Hot dogs were cold didnt even looked cooked some of the fries were cooked and some were not and girl behind the counter was rude and No Mask. Wont be back. Went in for breakfast on 9/11 asked for crispy bacon it wasnt and sausage was still raw on the inside so now that breakfast is know better then dinner. I will stick with Peter Pause.
Very clean! The milkshakes were awsome!!!!😍😍the French fries needed a little more salt but other wise a fantastic place.
My dad used to take me here as a kid 30 something years ago. I haven’t been there in two decades, but they had the best burgers I’ve ever had.
Ok skool hospitality with an old skool menu in an old skool restaurant. These people will bend over backwards to make you feel at home.
Classic and iconic Schenectady spot. Dogs, burgers and the best meat sauce. Fabulous owners and staff that work hard all year long.
Authentic local experience you cant find elsewhere. Counter or table seating. Takeout available. Prices are very reasonable and excellent milkshakes. The fries are delicious with skin on. Dont forget a hotdog! Oh, and they do breakfast and everything is made fresh right in front of you.
Living on their reputation! The place was dirty from floor to ceiling including behind the counter and the cooking equipment. There was nothing special about the hot dogs. They were average size and the chili sauce was nothing to write home about. After hearing so many local radio personalities talk this "iconic" restaurant up over the years I was disappointed to discover that you can find a tastier hot dog next door at Stewarts and put on your own fixins with a better chill sauce. Sorry to say I was unimpressed
Quick, simple menu. Delicious comfort food. This place is a family reward that everyone looks forward to.
We have never been their, the food was tasty and the price was right.
Everyone was absolutely amazing. Love the place. Food was excellent.
I had breakfast, eggs were over done the toast was loaded with so much butter, witch they replaced, the potatoes were huge and horrible. Nothing arrived at the same time .Part 2 = went for a fish fry a few days later ,Cooked way to long in the fryer, it was so crunchy, that it was gross .2 times there, horrible experience, won’t go there again !
Great friendly staff and some funny elder men having fun picking on each other
Best hotdog and hamburger spot in upstate new york you have to stop inn and try everything on the menu.
Staff friendly, prices still reasonable...food is excellent for what it is. Some of best hotdogs, breakfast food, fries shakes and burgers in the city.
Great food great service great prices. What else is there to say about this classic Schenectady spot.
No frills, simple, old school kind of spot. Makes for a great quick lunch. I really enjoyed the hot dog with meat sauce and onion rings. Service was good. Priced reasonably.
Hot dog itself was alright. Chili on the dog was really good, fresh bun, quick service.
Do you like counter service griddled cheeseburgers with lightly toasted buns on a paper plate with a side order of fresh cut fries in a very unassuming Toms Dinner experience? If you answered yes to the above question, you will love this place. Its not fancy and they dont pretend to be. Its a quick, fun burger and fries place. BTW I saw lots of hot dogs going over that counter as well. Some loaded with Chilli, some with sauerkraut and mustard. Very old school counter service milk shakes on hand too! They serve breakfast too. Eggs, pancakes etc.The crew is buzzing around you at high speed keeping up the pace of a busy luncheonette, its fun to watch the griddle and the food being cooked as they drop fries in the fryer and pour the soft drinks. The fries btw appear to be fresh cut, and they are quite good. Two sizes. We had a small fries, which was plenty to share for 2 of us, but the large was impressive for just a little bit more.
Always meant to try this place every time I had driven by. I finally did and Im glad to have done so.Quick service and good food and better prices. What more could you want?Limited menu of plain old burgers, dogs, sausage and shaved steak. Fries and onions rings complete the menu for lunch/dinner/late night.Breakfast menu is also simple and inexpensive.Totally wish I had come sooner, but I will be back often.
Terrible frozen burgers and wack hotdogs and chili but they dont call it chili. I went there because its been around for so long! Needs a good clean and fresh ingredients
Great establishment. Very friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent and well priced. Definitely a recommended location. Cant wait to come back and try something else on the menu.
Went there with the mother of my child and ordered cheese fries and a hot dog. Last time they didnt have cheese for the fries and this time they did. The lady gave us our meal for free since they didnt have it last time! Great staff great food! We will be back for breakfast in the morning haha
Love this unique historical Schenectady restaurant. To sit at the bar and order one of their tasty hotdogs or sandwiches is a step back in time.
Robert and his friendly co workers put big smiles on my moms face as well as mine!! They were kind & made us laugh!! 😃 The food was absolutely delicious!!!!! It always is! And the beat part was the song we all enjoyed on the radio...."Another one bites the dust!".... Thank you for your delicious food, for turning my bad day into a better one & Mom~a~Dukes & I look forward to our next visit! Sincerely, ~Miss Billie Jo~

This place looks like it could be the star of Guy Fieris "Diners, Drive-Ins & Doves", so of course the food will be good. Made on a grill right in front of you. Quick friendly service, great food. Has to be, they been open for over 70 years.
We went there to meet up with some friends that we hadnt seen in a long time. This place is very tiny but that wasnt a problem. Was very friendly they definitely werent a problem. This is the month of January and it was cold outside it was also cold inside, so cold that my feet were frozen and I had to wear my jacket. They forgot part of my order and the food was really not that great very tasteless and how you can make eggs tasteless I dont know. I couldnt wait to get out of there and get in my car to warm up. I think this place could be much more than it is.
Was hesitant to bring two young children here but the lady behind the counter came out and made everyone feel at home. The little girl loved her chicken fingers and the boys grilled cheese was fantastic. A great place for all ages!
One of the most nostalgic places to eat in Schenectady. When you think of a grease pit dinner, where you pull up a stool, and order a Dog all the way... this place is exactly what you had in mind. I enjoy a fish fry and share a clam fry to go with it, but dont forget the onion rings!
Amazing service, amazing food. Such great prices and people!!!
Everyone says it hasn’t changed in 50 years. They’re right. It also hasn’t been cleaned in 50 years. It is one of the dirtiest restaurants I’ve ever seen. I don’t know why the health department hasn’t closed it down. I had a hot dog I could have made at home and some french fries that were cooked in ancient dirty grease. If you think this is a great place your standards are really low. Gross.
Dogs still like I remember them. But had a hard time finding the meat in my cheeseburger.
Had never visited, but drove past 100 time. Finally stopped in and was amazed. Hotdogs from the old days. French fries were crispy.Rice pudding is a must. Everyone was super friendly and cool.😘😘
I havent been here in over 15 years and it hasnt changed a bit. Thats a good thing! My mother used to take me here as a kid and I started to feel nostalgic as soon as I sat at the counter. The hot dogs are still great and you cant beat their fries. It felt good to be back!!
This place makes one of the best bacon egg and cheese sandwiches I have ever had. The bacon is so tasty and I love the aftertaste as well. Everybody there has a positive attitude and they are very friendly people. I will even drive 20 mins out of my way just for a breakfast sandwich there too. Delicious
One of my favorite memories of my late brother, was going here for lunch with him after Id been through a really stressful experience. We had the gyros, and they taste AMAZING. I couldnt remember where it was though for a while, till my dad and I drove past it looking for someplace else earlier this year. I insisted we order something on the way home, and we did. The gyros are still just as good, and the people working there were very understanding about me crying in the corner for a minute before I could order, and did what they could to make sure I was safe and cheer me up a little.
5 stars. Took my dad there like his mom took him. He said it has not changed in 60 years. It was a fantastic grease spoon
Simple, delicious food. You wont find any fuss or pretense here, just reliably great food and the nicest staff. Come down and see why theyve been around for over 50 years!
Friendly staff, delicious Coneys, amazing fries, delicious milkshakes, fun place!
Great food excellent service,One of the best restaurants for breakfast I have ever been to,everything is cooked fresh before your eyes some of the best bacon and sausage linksI have ever tried, real quality meats, big portions makes my day when I have to work in Schenectady
First time here and had the steak sandwich... Excellent! Been told the dogs are good too...going to try those next time.
Its a Mom and Pop shop which is awesome! Cash only! They serve a pretty good hot dog, not the best Ive had but certainly not the worst. It was on the spicy side which I enjoyed. I would have given them 4 stars but the hot dogs are over priced at $2.40 each, thats way too much for a simple hot dog with everything as seen in the photo.Would I go back? Yes I might if I was in the area again, however, I dont think Id go out of my way.
Wait staff was excellent. Food was quick to order. Hot dog was a 3 out of 5, personally. But, loved the burger. Should of got two! Would come back if I was in the area.
