Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich

Its a lovely museum with large gallery. The exhibits are interesting. We love to go there with our kids. There is a nice cafe next door. Its a place to spend a couple of hours.

Incredible space and the curation was fantastic. I loved how each floor had its unique character. Felt more authentic than most other venues I visited in Zh. Thanks for that!

Ich war vor einer Woche mit einem 4 Jährigen Kind dort. Mit voller Erwartung traten wir in dieses Gebäude. Am Empfang wurden wir von einer Dame bei welcher man dachte diese hat keine Lust zu arbeiten begrüßt. Wir wurden informiert, wir können Detektiv spielen, dachte nicht weiter nach und wurde laufend recht enttäuscht. Die Aufstellung mit Kindern würde ich niemandem Empfehlen. Ausgestelltes welches auf dem Boden liegt ist nicht beschriftet nicht draufstehen. So wurden ich von der Empfangsdame von so was angeschnauzt. So was ist nicht normal. :-(

Guter Ort zum Müll betrachten. Schrecklich das man alles als Kunst bezeichnen kann.

Ja also man sollte dieses Museum auf keinen Fall mit klassischen Museen, die mit Gemälden und Skulpturen bestückt sind vergleichen. Definitiv modern und zum Nachdenken anregend, aber deshalb auch nicht für jedermann.Ich muss sagen bei meinem Besuch waren die ausgestellten Werke grob gesagt bis auf wenige Stücke langweilig, oder zumindest mir gegenüber nicht ansprechend.Aber Kunst ist ja Ansichtssache 🙉

Wenn es nicht Gratis gewesen wäre, dann hätte ich einen Stern gegeben.

Sehr spannendes Museum - neue Ausstellungen sind immer eine Entdeckung wert, denn das Museum zeigt meist avantgardistische Positionen sowie auch Werke aus ihrer grossen Sammlung, die oftmals von Publikationen begleitet werden.

Very enjoyable, and interesting. However CHF12 does seem to be a bit expensive given the amount of exhibits on display.

Für Familien unbrauchbar.Wir waren mit unseren Kindern im Museum und machten mit ihnen das Detektiv- Rätselset durch.Das ganze war sehr abstrakt und für Kinder definitiv nicht vertändlich. Zudem wurden unsere Kinder mehrmals vom Personal angeprochen nichts anzufassen, obwohl diese es nicht mal getan haben.Der Besuch war sehr enttäuschend, nicht weiter zu empfehlen.

Big open space, interesting exhibition. One video exhibition was closed but I got a free ticket to visit it the other day

Great to see that Zurich has a beautiful contemporary art space I thought I could only find in Paris, London or New York. Thoughtful, provoking and fun. Elegant architecture. The annual subscription is very much affordable. My new preferred cultural venue when Covid makes cinemas and theaters less attractive.

No signs outside. A bit puzzling the name on the building says Löwenbräu. Rather small place. Hip neighborhood though.

Très peu dœuvres, lexposition actuelle est décevante et manque de descriptions explicatives... Personnel désagréable.

Maybe I dont get this kind of art but for me the museum seemed pretty empty and I did not get the art behind it. Maybe I am just ignorant, I dont know but for me not worth the Money.

Schöne Architektur. Falsche Fotos

Be sure to check what the exhibitions are before you go as there is no permanent collection and the current exhibitions are trash. 20 CHF and even if you love the exhibitions the space is so small it would be really difficult to spend more than an hour there. Super disappointing - literally the worst modern art museum Ive ever been to.

Das Museum ist sehr langweilig.Man glaubt wenn man reingeht,dass es gerade renoviert wird.Es hat nicht vieles zu sehen.Beim Museum glaubt man wenn man es anschaut,dass es von Schüler/Studenten gemacht worden ist.Es hat wenig anzusehen und das Personal dort ist garnicht aufmerksam bei dir und wenn man sie etwas fragen will ist es schwer sie zu finden,weil sie lieber die Zeit damit verbringen am handy zu sein oder ihre Fingernägel bearbeiten.Es ist auch alles auf englisch.Also ist das Museum nicht für Kinder geeignet,die nochkein englisch level B1 haben

Most exhibits were closed and what was open was not very interesting!

Pretty booring Installations and also Not many. Maybe i Was there AT a Bad time but i was dissapointed.

Sehr viel Raum und relativ wenig zu sehen. Aber am Donnerstag wenigstens kostenlos.

Immer spannende Ausstellungen. Am besten besucht man diese mit einer Führung, diese werden toll gemacht von den Mitarbeitenden.

Tolles Museum wenn man gerne voll abgefahrene Kunst mag. Eher für Erwachsene.

Spacious but small museum. Two floors with exhibitions. There is an elevator. It offers really nice programms for families with kids, as either drawings based on impressions from visited exhibitions, or investigation game, where kids are given some keys and have to solver small mysteries about e.g. works in exhibition.Main museum entrance is not barrier free, and actually has quite steep stairs. Museums web site says that there is an alternative entrance with ramps/elevator but I couldnt find it.

Its alright but for 20CHF and minimal art in cavernous rooms, I couldnt help but leave slightly disappointed.

Found this experience very disappointing for a paid, national museum. No backpacks or prams were allowed in but were only told once we went to enter (would have been helpful to know at the ticket desk). I was not permitted to even take a bottle of water in which was strange and for parents with small children the no-pram thing made things difficult. Lockers were downstairs, very busy and require 1CH coin deposit. Despite having a map our group of 5 had trouble navigating and there didnt seem to be an intuitive flow. We enjoyed the scale models of the Swiss landscapes the best, and though it took a long time to finally find our way, the animal area at the very end had a few interactive things for kids (but not much before then for kids under 5).

Obviously depends on the exhibition, but they are always contemporary and usually of high quality.

One of the most fascinating museums in town

I didnt like it at all! There are only 2 floors, its very small and there was not much to see.
