Indonesian restaurant in Frankfurt. The place is not that big. You can choose where to sit, inside or outside.
Unfortunately only 3 stars, and thats mostly to the friendly service and the snacks. I visited this restaurant after reading the reviews and the fact that it serves East Javanese cuisine, where my mother and her caterer sisters were born and raised. Plus they had Es Campur and Es Cendol in the menu. The disappointment started with the dessert. There were no Es Campur or Es Cendol available. Well, on a Sunday evening I was probably down on my luck. Then I ordered a drink I got the wrong order. Oh well, it was just a misunderstanding, that was fine. And then I ordered Nasi Mawut which was recommended by a lot of reviews and the owner. I wouldve loved Krupuk to accompany the dish, which of course was unavailable. And the dish itself didnt really taste like what I used to have in East Java.My fiancé ordered Sate Ayam and I had quite high expectations because it was actually made of small chicken pieces, and not skewered chicken fillet. However, the peanut sauce was made with peanut butter, which was...not our taste, to say the least. And 1,50€ extra for...Basmati rice? It was rather unusual.Overall, I think I came here with too high of an expectation. To be fair, my mother and my caterer aunts are great cooks, and they only took me to restaurants which they "approved" in East Java. I guess this is heavily adjusted to the German palate, which is absolutely normal. I just expected more due to the frequent use of the word "authentic"
The best Indonesian food in Frankfurt.
My recommended dishes: rendang, corn fritters, nasi mawut, chicken curry, rawon, and pangsit goreng. I also love their sambal in a jar.Suggestion: jasmine rice would have been better (and more authentic!than basmati rice.
Very small place. Doesnt take reservations.Food is authentic. Service excellent. We particularly enjoyed the fruit cocktail (non-alcoholic).
Rendang is a safe choice for the 1st time! The stewed beef source with coconut taste is working well with rice
Super friendly owner, tasty food
I ordered chicken satay, perkedel jagung, and bakso, and all of them were VERY delicious, especially the first two. Would have preferred the bakso with bihun (rice vermicelliand or yellow noodle instead of white noodle, since that’s what I’m used to, but it’s not that big of a deal :)
Tasty, very tasty. Unfortunately, not the first choice for a meat eater.
Love the noodle soup here :)
As an Indonesian myself i would say the food there is pretty good :)
Authentic Indonesian food, Rawon could have been a little bit more fragrant. Es cendol was very nice 👍
I tried Indonesia food for first time and I liked it !
Small but cozy place. Very delicious food with a big range of vegan options.
Nice food! Personal really polite and funny
The menus not so authentic and i could say this is fusion restaurant. But the restaurant incredible nice!
First of all, I like how they decorated this restaurant. It just feels warm and homey, with a little touch of the right music, the ambience will be perfect:)I ordered mie bakso when I was there, it was good. Although I expected the noodle to be thin (like glass noodles because thats also what they displayed in the menu). For dessert I had es campur and it was really good :)Next time id love to try their vegetarian/vegan dishes and another indonesian dessert.
Very tasty authentic Indonesian food. The place is quite small and not a lot of outdoor seats, but usually no need to wait too long you will have a table. Portion is not that big (perfect for girls thoso maybe you need to order a starter. Nevertheless, price is fair.
They have couple of vegan/vegetarisch options, out of which i highly recommend soya sticks (super delicious). But i got disappointed with the dish: fried tofu mit Erdnussos (no taste at alland vegan tofu curry was bit sweet. Overall service was good.
It was really nice! They were really kind. Food was great! Try the fried meat thingies they were so so good
Small restaurant with fine food. Feel like home. Make me miss our hometown in indonesia. I took nasi goreng mawut and mie goreng, taste was really good. And also rendang. Recomended.
Decent food (I took the rendangbut not authentical taste/not well made. Im half Indonesian and would not recommend it.The waitress and the cook were not even Indonesian and did not speak Bahasa Indonesia. I was expecting more to be honest, also little choice on the menu (no Nasi Goreng, no Nasi Lemak..)
Super friendly. Amazing food. Nice refreshing drinks. Can only recommend and will be back.
Our first time eating here was last summer after a long hike. We thought the food was the best we ever had but then thought maybe it was because of the hike :D We came back many times again and again and it was always fantastic. I especially recommend the Mie Goreng with shrimps, Rendang, and the Wayang Speciality from the main dishes. The lamb skewers with peanut sauce are also an excellent starter. The owners are really nice people, always welcoming you with a smile and great service. Even when it was not possible to dine-in because of COVID, we kept ordering food from them. Overall, highly recommended!
We have been happy customers for a few years now but the last order really was not very good anymore. The soups seem to be made of bought/ready made curry soups with lots of Glutamat. Also the take out boxes have an arch in the middle, making the portions seem larger than they really are.The two stars are for the friendly service as always. In hopes that the cooking changes back to how it used to be...
Went there with a mixed German/Asian group and we all thorougly enjoyed the friendly service and delicious food. Food could be flavoured a tad bit more "exotic" and its a shame that you cant reserve a table but all in all we will be back for sure
Delicious food, great service and affordable prices. Well definitely be back. This place is fantastic!
Very good Indonesian Restaurant. Had the Vegan Rendang and it was very good! Desert and home made ice tea was good too! Recommend!
My Indonesian wife asked me to go there and we both loved it. Small cute place with a funny crazy waiter / cook 😁 even though it was an one hour drive we’ll totally go there again!
100% authentic, extraordinarily tasty, super cosy and super friendly host.
small but cozy and food is superb for its cost. love it
Great food. Very friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. Fairly small though, so it wouldnt work well for large groups.
Awesome restaurant perfect location best quality foods with rapid service . Staff is very nice and help full. I rocmmend with highly regards ( Ahmed Ahtsham )
Nice small cozy indonesian cuisine in the busy street of Leipziger. If your eye is not so sharp then you might miss it.the owner is very friendly and will welcome you with warm heart always. So must visit place. you can sit outside in the summer time which is really beautiful. Enjoy!!
cozy little place with affordable prices and a pleasant atmosphere. the host makes you feel really welcome. the food is delicious and the portions filling. must visit!
100% authentic, extraordinarily tasty, super cosy and super friendly host. We had Pangsit Goreng (very delicate and heavenly tasty), Rendang (super delicious flavourand Sambel Goreng Tempe (I 🧡 Tempe). 5 stars for us!
Excellent really tasty Vegan Indonesian Nudel with a big smile and perfect service 👍
Well, been wanting to try this place and see whether the food could get as close to the one I ate while visiting Indonesia nearly ten years ago. I must say after taking the first bite, for a second, I felt like that food critique in the Pixar movie ratatouille, transporting me back in time. Unpretentious, authentic interior, while we sat outside, I have to say this is the closest one will get to experience authentic Indonesian food in Frankfurt. A must!
Really friendly, quick service and delicious food. The dishes are much better than expected from such a small indistinct eatery. Everything was great!
good memories of times in indonesia, love their authentic real cuisine! my favorites were gado gado and the vegan soup
Wow food and service was amazing and so many vegan and veggie options. It was so nice we went back for lunch the next day 😁
Great Indonesian food, cozy place
Very friendly owners and delicious food. Came here a couple of times and tried several dishes. All of them are worth trying. Good value for money, too.
Nice Indonesian food, although spices and flavours could be spiced up a bit. But in the end, great food.
Very decent Indonesian food for Germany/Europe, sauce for satay was quite odd, beef rendang was good, sambal belachan was fabulous!
Nice and cozy. Good dessert. Main dishes like fried rice and gado gado were disappointing. But, theres no other Indonesian restaurant around so still worth it by default.
Authentic Indonesian flavors by Indonesian owner. Its small but cosy. The food was super yummy and freshly prepared, service was very friendly. I love your soto and sate!! Surely I will return to again and again :)I can only recommend this restaurant!
Delicious Indonesian food. Very friendly service and reasonable prices. Its quite small with only a few tables, which makese for a great atmosphere, but it could be full when you arrive.
Really authentic Indonesian restaurant with friendly owner and staffs. The foods there are the best with reasonable price. Totally recommended! :)
