Michoacán Mexican restaurant in Durham

I placed an order online for take out. I was greeted and my food was ready when I arrived. The order was correct. The food was still warm by the time I got home and tasted good. I will try dining in next time.

Easily some of the best Mexican food in town. Amazing prices for the amount of food you get - it’s enough for me for three days but it’s enough food for a couple . Comes with delicious tortillas , crunchy chips and delicious salsa !

We casually visited this Mexican hidden corner. As a Mexican it was a pleasure to find flavors from our country in a non pretentious place. Speedy attention and an impressively broad menu for lunch and dinner. We could testify the place is honored by Mexican workers and locals. Very small, sometimes surely is packed. It could help having better cleaning but we understood since tables were filled again and again at lunch. Service was prompt and with a smile. Chilaquiles were excellent and also “sopes” and rice. Sauces were mild but with enough “punch”. It was a casual visit and the experience was quite a good surprise with decent prices. Come if you want to taste some of Mexico’s flavors.

The food was meh. Most people who eat typical Mexican restaurants would enjoy it. Not authentic Mexican if youve had it before. But they really lost 2 stars for me due to the unsanitary restroom. It was bad and thats all Ill say for fear of making anyone nauseous.

I got the Texas fajitas for two, chicken quesadilla, and guacamole and chips. The food was hot, fresh, and really delicious. Only thing was it was a little pricey, I got a spoon full of guacamole for like $5, and they also charge for to go orders. I get that most times to go orders don’t always get tipped but I tipped an additional $6 because it was a to go order before I had realized they charged for it. I always try to tip 20% or more when it comes to eating food that’s not from a fast food joint. So they got $7.50 for a tip pretty much. I would love to sit down and eat there to try some other dishes as long as they aren’t way to over priced.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area, and honestly one of the best lunch options in all of Durham. This city has a lot of great food but it can be pricey - even in the face of record-setting inflation, Michoacán continues to be a proud exception. The prices are extremely affordable, the portion sizes are tremendous, and the food is simply delicious. Don’t take my word for it - each lunch hour, the place is packed full of construction workers; and if that’s not an indicator of hidden gems, I don’t know what is. I highly recommend this place!

We eat here every Friday since we found out about it. Its so delicious and great prices.The staff is awesome too!

Service is always fast food is always good.

Tried this restaurant for the first time. They offer the typical Mexican dishes with special attention to Michoacan. I had a torta with carnitas (pork). The seasoning was very good, but child have used more avocado, and I prefer fresh jalapeños to the pickled one. Overall, a good experience at a new restaurant. I will rest there again.

I LOVE this place!I had a quesadilla and my husband had a combo Fajita. This food is incredible!I am very picky with Mexican food. Everything here is made fresh. I never have had anything from here that was not tasting homemade.I personally am not a Mexican food lover, yet their food is so good I find myself wanting to go back weekly!

Good food. Customer service not so much. They said they never received my order. It was ordered through postmate. I even showed order confirmation. Was told she would look for my order after the other customers. And, they were taken ahead of me instead of looking for my order which was ordered online 20 minutes prior. They accused me of giving them the wrong name. Completely blamed it on me in front of other customers. My order was sitting on the counter before I ever arrived. It wasnt until I ordered her to check the bag, that it was found

I shiz you not. Literally some of the best food Ive ever eaten, Mexican, Japanese, French whatever. Just amazing. Azteca burrito is incredibly flavorful and perfectly balanced. Char on the steak and chorizo just right. Fantastically prepared beef cheek sopa with a huge mound of toppings for 3.95. This is all on GrubHub so I have no frame of reference on service but I just friggin love this place so much.

This has been one of our fav restaurants to order from on uber eats so this hurts me to have to say but they botched our order completely. The Hubby ordered menudo and the only gave him bones and no meat at all. I ordered a fajita quesadilla with no onions or peppers or tomatoes. I got an steak quesadilla with all the things I didnt want. I also ordered extr salsa and chips and cheese dip. The salsa the gave me wasnt even halfway full as well as cheese dip under halfway full. The whole order was just wrong and way less than normal.

I love the food, it is comforting and warm for a Texan transplant. They are always very fast with delivery too! Our favorites are the Aztec burrito and the choriqueso. Their house red salsa is nice and smooth texture, not spicy but tomato-forward and refreshing.

The food was bland and overcooked - I ordered chori pollo and got a few grains of chorizo- not enough to tell if it had any flavor. Staff was stand-offish and we were overcharged severely (if their online menu is correct). The restaurant appeared to be clean though.Very disappointed!

Michoacán rules. They have really great prices for what you get. The pastor isn’t my favorite here, but their Arroz con Pollo and Michoacán Super Enchiladas are absolutely on point. Nice work, y’all.

My food was okay. Customer service on this trip was awful, but usually good. Small and cozy spot. Decent bar and fair prices. Clean to be very busy. There sometimes a language barrier. All and all not a bad restaurant.

BURRITOS THE SIZE OF YOUR HEAD‼️As a vegan/vegetarian this was a great place to find on door dash. The food tastes authentically Mexican and their options for those who don’t eat meat are grand! The burrito I had was top notch & not just because of the size but mainly the ingredients (waaaaaaaaayyyyyy better option than Chipotle and Zambero).👉🏾The veggie burrito includes: Spinach, Mushrooms, Onions, Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Zucchini & Broccoli.Now If you are a vegan/vegetarian tell me your mouth didn’t just water and for a minute you felt like you were in heaven/hit the jackpot😂😆.Try them out and thank me later. I always get the chicken & steak fajita taco bowl

Asked them to turn the music down as it was so loud we couldnt talk to each other. We were the only customers in the place. They refused, we left. $5 for 2 sodas we didnt drink and a few chips. Disappointing, wont return.

Ordered three times off of ubereats. Because its really close to where I live, I order for pickup, but each time people who enter behind me are served first and despite the notification from the app that my food is done they always tell me to wait. Maybe an unfortunate coincidence, but the food is not good enough to warrant the service problems. (They also seem to get annoyed when I tell them that Im pretty sure the food is done)

New to town & been there 3 times now. Will NEVER go back due to fraudulent activity concerning payment for 3rd visit. I called & left a voicemail asking for them to call me back w/my concern & got no reply. I stopped by in person hopeful to resolve being charged twice for 2 separate amounts, 2nd charge occurring over 2 weeks after I had actually dined there. The woman displayed the worst customer service ever & told me I need to call my bank! Not even trying to do any sort of service recovery nor taking any responsibility after I showed her my bank account online, proving that this establishment made an unauthorized charge on 3/5! Pathetic excuse for customer service; a damn shame that no ownership was taken whatsoever! If u should choose to deal w/this fraudulent establishment, ENSURE u have cash! Bank has been notified & police report to follow.

Everything I ordered was delicious. I ordered delivery, and it was all still so good.I ordered sopa de pollo and arroz con camarones. Delicious. The arroz con camarones had zucchini, a little green pepper and onions on it, perfect for me.Im definitely going to order more soon!

Ordered via Grubhub. Order was correct and I appreciated that they included plenty of salsas in a variety. Tacos were great, Gordita was good and the burrito was huge and delicious. I had no problem with our beans or rice either. The queso was one of the best I have had.

Great food with excellent service and friendly accommodating staff to your needs. Clean as a restaurant can be with amount of business they do.Most definitely will be eating there again.

The food is good and I like the variety they offer. A few times we have asked for specific things and they forgot. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years so I’m aware mistakes happen - I totally get it. So, it wasn’t a big deal.. but then it continued and the woman at the front seems to have an issue with adding additional ingredients to meals. I don’t mind paying for additional items. Everytime we ask, she says they can’t and rolls her eyes. It’s simple things - like adding cheese to something or adding onions or avocado. It makes me wonder if some of the meals are just microwaved. Either way, it still tastes good and I’ll continue to go there. Just odd experiences on most occasions.

Ordered via Uber Eats and was VERY impressed!The Syncronizada Quesidilla meal I ordered was fantastic. Chicken well seasoned, moist and tender . . . clearly actually cooked to order. They use the good stuff, REAL Mexican melting cheese, which is gooey and delicious without being greasy! And the portion was absolutely HUGE for the $9 price.Order a quesidilla here and you will NOT be disappointed!

Small Mexican restaurant with solid food. I mostly get takeout but small dining area is nice enough. Menu offers a variety of options and most everything I have had is good. Friendly staff. I have read complaints about customer service, but aside from food maybe taking a few minutes longer than they have told me have never had a problem. And, it may not be a 5 star service experience eating in, but it is friendly service that is fine.

ALL IMA SAY IS READ THE REVIEWS FIRST! .... It’s a no for me!!! The food looked pretty coming out, I couldn’t wait to eat it. Then when I did, I seen hair like things to mixed into the food.🤬 I feel like it’s chicken hair..... but regardless I felt uncomfortable eating it and didn’t want to proceed even though I tired because that was my lunch for class(four)and didn’t get out till nine. I ultimately ended up taking it back and getting a refund. The young lady was nice and didn’t give me a hard time which is why I gave it two stars.

Ordered delivery.Everything tasted great.Was not a fan of finding 6+, animal-like hairs mixed well in the side order of refried beans. One hair I would have brushed aside.Avoid the refried beans if you dont want to get into a hairy situation.

Oh my goodness...we ordered from here tonight for the first time...WOW...it was really good! Everything was freshly made and still hot after it was delivered(thanks to our delivery guy Chadwick too)! We will definitely be eating from here again! Thanks Michoacan!!:)

Order came wrong, no pineapple in the one order and ground beef instead of the chicken. And the churros were completely raw in the middle. The one salsa was burnt and tasted horrible the one good thing was the salsa verde.

Went tonight and purchased a burrito and quesadilla. SOGGY!!! I couldnt pick up my burrito. My food fell apart and it was overall A TON of beans and sour cream. I couldnt taste the steak at all. I asked for lettuce and they barley put any in my burrito. My boyfriends quesadilla was soggy also. Wont reccomend

The worst Mexican Restaurant ive ever been too. Eating and doing uber orders. Understaffed, always waiting on food and ower is unprofessional. La Cocina in Morrisville much better and way more professional. Please everyone and anyone dnt order uber or take our from Michoacan in Durham terrible service need yo be shut down

Where do I even begin, this has been the worst dining experience ever. The floor was extremely dirty as if it hadn’t been swept all day ( used napkins, food in the floor, spilled drink under one table that was left to sit). My god mother and I waited thirty minutes just to get our drinks and our order placed. My mango margarita was extremely watery and it took another twenty minutes for them to bring me a replacement. The food was not that great , and the staff seemed to move very slowly and one of the girls seemed very annoyed to replace my beverage. In total we spent an HOUR waiting on our order and I was served old corn tortillas. I would not return to this establishment again.

We werent really sure what to expect based on its appearance, but boy did they deliver! Chips and salsa were plentiful, the entrees were all hot and delicious, and the service was top notch! I had the arroz con pollo and it was exactly as described. Others at the table had the enchiladas and burritos and everyone let stuffed (and with some to go boxes).

The waitress was super helpful in helping me decide what to order. I ordered Piña Loca and it was delicious. It came with several sides, including refried beans, rice, guacamole, lettuce and soft taco shells. The main dish was cooked in a pineapple with shrimp, chicken, steak, and chorizo. The waitress also brought a side of chips and salsa. I think the price was reasonable and the portion was generous. It was clean inside and a little empty on a Monday night.

The restaurant is very clean and the customer service was pretty standard. The amount of food you receive for the prices is the best Ive encountered in this area. I ordered a quesadilla with chicken, steak and shrimp. I was literally able to break it up into 3 meals.

Cleanliness 3/5. No soap in mens bathroom. How was the staff washing their hands?+Service 4/5. Have gotten takeout just to get home and find Im missing something I had ordered. 2 out of the 7 times Ive been there.+Price 4/5. Very skimpy with the meat and it leaves you feeling ripped off. However you arent breaking the bank either.+Quality 3/5. They are very stingy with the meat. When you order fajitas with chicken, shrimp and steak you are getting 1/4th of each portion for a higher price. I literally had 4 shrimp with my mixed fajitas but paid $5 more than I would have for just plain chicken fajitas. Doesnt make sense.

Good service. Good price. Food was tasty overall. Cheese dip was served cold and chunky. Chicken fundido was dry in the middle but salsa fixed that. Tables were sticky but bathroom was clean. Not a bad place.

The food was pretty good. For such a no frills hole in the wall, I was pleasantly surprised. Best fish tacos since I had in Mexico. The people are very pleasant but not very attentive . Im definitely going back

The food here is up to par and maybe a little above par compared to other Mexican restaurants. This is more of a quick bite establishment not much flare but good food and the waitresses are attentive. A good place to visit for a quick lunch or a dinner takeout place for tacos, burritos and fajitas. But they also offer many other authentic Mexican entries. The meats here are tasty and the spices were flavorful. If you like guacamole then you will probably love there chunky guacamole dip.
