Miami Seaquarium in Country Walk
Description
It was great. My kids loves it although they didnt get a chance to see the killer whale
MoreWe bought the tickets online as they had a special going on. When we went there weather wasnt favorable and some shows were closed due to lightning, which is understandable. What I did not understand is why were most food places closed? The BBq area close. The main entrance food area was closed so it felt more like a run-down seaquarium and I felt that a regular priced admission is not worth what you are getting in return. Now I do understand they are going thru alot of renovations and that maybe due to covid theres a shortage of staff. Most staff members we encounter were extremely nice and friendly, specially the lady at the Dots ice cream stand, we loved her! Most show did opened yp after the lightning subsided and the girls loved the dolphins show! So thank you for a good experience!
MoreWent this weekend and I must say its a stark difference than when I went a few years back, its a tad bit run down and even the kids rated it a 6 out of 10 and I feel they were generous. The shows used to be more fun, the staff talked my ear off and sitting there I almost followed out the many people leaving because of their non-stop talking and to be quite frank was annoying. Dont know if its because of COVID-19 and everywhere was closed and funds to run the place were limited but truly there is no need I feel to bring any of my visiting families here again... Sad because I enjoyed the first time I went years back ..
MoreFirst of all, the prices are expensive compared to what they have to offer, and at the end of a day it felt like we need a refund of half the amount we paid.Half of the exhibitions were closed. No gators, sharks, killer whales, and a lot of exhibits in the main building. The animal shows are very kind oriented and are mostly talk shows, with little of animal performance. Some animals looks like they arent taken care of. The manatees are covered in algae, which isnt something that is seen in the wild.Would not recommend this place to anyone.
MoreI went on the Royal swim with the dolphins, life lo g dream came true. They have lots more to do and see. But me personally I loved every aspect of the seaquarium. Great fun and learning for kids. Awesome people, lots of smiles. Loved it!!
MoreNeeds a lot of renovation, the bathrooms, the stairs all looked very old and rusty. The staffs were pretty friendly. The sea lion show was really good. Great job
MoreGood staff employees assisted me.. When overboard.. Making my experience .. But especially my kid.. Unforgettable. Thank you !!About the park.. The owners are making horrible work in maintenance... I hope they do not let this park die.. Step up and recover it. Food is too expensive. And quality no good. I will not come back.
MoreMore that animal show, Great experience, a lot of learning about marine life conservation. Funny times with the dolphins. Also you can support the effort in conservation.
MoreI really enjoyed this place, the only reason I took away a star is some of the attractions were closed that I wanted to see. I did get to see the Manatees that I really wanted to see though! Great for adults and kids! Be sure to wear light clothing as its an outdoor aquarium!
MoreThis is a great attraction to visito at Miami. Located at Virginia Island South Miami. $10 dollars parking and it is cheaper to get ticket online. After this you can visit the beach next door, Nixon beach and cape Light house by the end of next island Key Biscayne. Easy to get there by car, taxi or Uber or Lyft.
MoreHas lots of varieties of sea animals and birds. The shows are enjoyable. The animal show time when we went were: 11am (The Dolphin show-12pm (Sea Lion-1pm (Flipper show *Best*). 2hrs is more than enough to explore the entire Seaquarium
MoreThe place is nice , but I was disappointed. My kids and I were expecting to see Lolita , the map shows the big killer Wale so we were exited for the experience But when we were there we were told it was up for renovations. 😏 Then don’t advertise it. And the price is high for the shows we see there . Also the Sea lion show was kind of boring the speaker was bad you couldn’t hear what they were saying. And the shows are very short. Food is very expensive also.
MoreSome of the exhibitions were closed. It seemed the place was all about the dolphins with a side of sea lions, manatees, turtles, stingrays, and sharks. The park is small. Could walk the entire thing is less than 30 minutes. Daughter still enjoyed herself (4.5 yrs old). Will not be returning until she is at least 10 yrs old. Minimum to swim with dolphins or feed sea lion while in the pool with them.
MoreThe Seaquarium is not the same anymore without some shows. I do understand the reasons why these shows no longer exists.
MoreThere’s not much to do here. It should be way cheaper. Its very hot out so more outside sits would be nice. And having the biggest show closed for maintenance was disappointing.
MoreHonestly not worth the 50$ at allHighly disappointing experience , many shows were not available , the place is really old and in urgent need of a renovation. We went to many other aquariums abroad and locally and they were all cheaper and better. However truth be told the staff are really friendly and helpful and i admired that about them.
MoreThis is a nice little park that will take a half day to experience. Dont come expecting sea world as its an older establishment but it is well worth a trip if you need to entertain children. We did the dolphin experience and my teenage kids loved it, one even said it was the best part of the entire week!! It is a bit pricey but the memories are what you come here for.
MoreVery very disappointing. Only about a half hour worth of animals to see, and the best thing was their birds surprisingly. A lot closed at this point, might be slightly better in the future. Just too small altogether though.
MoreIt was a great place and my family had a great time. There is enough to do to keep you busy for a whole day. We had a blast!
MoreSurprisingly, there was not nearly as much to do here than I thought there would be. Concession stands were not open, some of the animals were not in the exhibits. However if you are not from the area, the drive there is worth it.
MoreVisited on Saturday, May 14, 2022.The “shows” are geared towards kids primarily but fun to see as adults. The park seems a bit run down. Bathrooms we’re in good shape. It was not near as busy as we expected it to be. We arrived at open and left after 5 hours. Great walking. Easy to follow their maps. FLIPPER was neat. Top Deck Dolphin show was great. Sea Lion show very entertaining. Too much talking in each show. Not enough tricks and flips.A nice day in the sun and they do not really gouge you here in the pricing of trinkets, but it is expensive as most attractions are.
MoreThe orca exhibit was closed, there werent many fish and exhibits to see. The dolphins were pretty cool and the seal too but that was about it. Definitely over priced for what it was. Its mainly dolphins, seals, rays, nurse sharks, some penguins in a dark exhibit, flamingos and manatees. Nothing more. Not very exciting
MoreWe were very excited to visit the Seaquarium, having great experiences at other aquariums our expectations were obviously too high. I will start with saying that the location is excellent and the staff were really nice starting off with the front desk girl who gave us 20% off after we told her that we had issues buying online tickets. The animal handlers were also great answering any questions we had. The lady in the petting area where you cold touch stingrays looked very stressed as kids would reach in and literally grab the poor fish. I know they are social animals but I really felt sorry for them. The Seaquarium grounds are smaller than I was expecting and with the killer whale exhibit being closed (which after doing some research is a good thingthere really isnt much to see. The tanks and displays are very dated and are in need of a major overhaul. The cost vs the experience was extremely high and plainly not worth it. As you can see I didnt take hardly any pictures as not much drew my attention. This would have been a 1* review but the staff bumped it up a bit. Overall very disappointing.
MoreThe flipper show was the highlight of my visit. I must admit, the protestors outside definitely detract from truly enjoying the animals. The bullhorns definitely have an impact because it wasn’t as many people when I visited. Overall, it was good but definitely not the best Seaquarium I’ve been to.
MoreMy family & I had a nice time as always. It was a nice day, it wasnt too hot and it wasnt crowded, but it did suck that there wasnt a whale show, we were told she (Lolitaretired.I have been a fan of this place since I was a kid. I remember when I came on a school field trip & how special it was to get a wax figures of one of the animals (thinking about it I can almost smell the wax Lol!).
MoreVery nice and fun place to go solo, with friends or with family. Nice contacts with animals. Also you can swim with the dolphins 🐬
MoreSo it is Thursday and half the food places are closed. Also the orca exhibit was closed. Kind of disappointed there. We had a meet and greet with the dolphins which was cool but underwhelming some. Still a good experience. I think if coming, you should invest in the swimming with the animals part. While it is expensive it goes to the conservation of the animals and is a nice experience. The place also looks a bit run down.
MoreWas super fun, sadly right now the whale portion of the aquarium is under maintenance still so, you wont be able to see them BUT, everything else was a joy to experience.
MoreThe place is nice and worth visiting, especially with kids. What I dont like is that many shows are closed: no sea lion show, no whale killing show. The Delphine show is the only one and the price for the ticket is still the same. Also there is no info at the gate, no clear information where to go if you have additional packets. The Meet the Dolphine packet is seeing and touching twice so better know before pay extra. No photography of course and their pictures are 20$ each, so if you have 3 kids prepare to pay a lot...At least theyre apologizing for the inconveniences at every corner. I was expecting much more for the price especially compared to the other Seaquariums in Florida
MoreWas wonderful watching the grandkids have a blast with the dolphins 🐬 Family fun walking through the whole place and seeing all the amazing animals ❤️
MoreMy kids enjoyed it. Super pricy and the orca show was off for maintenance which I didn’t find out until after I bought the tickets. The buildings need lots of love and we met 1 kind employee. 😂
MoreMy kids enjoyed it and I got a good deal on the tickets and got to spend the whole day there. Sea Lions, Dolphin Show. I thought it was pretty cool
MoreConsidering the situation with covid yall need to install more places to wash your hands around the parkThe flipper show was OKNO killer whale show, and it was the main reason we chose to visit this place. The food overpriced and low quality. And the ticket prices are way too expensive $210 for 2 Adults & 2 kids, bought online for $178 which I still think is too expensive.Felt sorry for the manatees in such a small pool.
MoreMy 2-year son enjoyed the aquarium. He loved the sharks and dolphins. We e really wanted to see the Lolita the whole but it was open due to maintenance
MoreHonestly, it was kind disappointing to see such an outdated seaquari in miami. The place needs an entire make over. I have seen way better seaquarium throughout the USA, I paid around $50 per person and the main show for orcha was closed due to maintenance, they should have lowered the price. It was kind depressing to walk around and check the place, I wouldnt recommend the place to anyone to visit because it was not worth it. I hope they do some renovation in the future.
MoreI dont even know where to begin. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at any animal attraction. I was previously here 20 years ago and while I enjoyed myself then, I honestly dont think theyve made any improvements or repairs in all that time. The place is so rundown its both sad and a little scary.I went there today with my 3-1/2 year old and my husband who also had not been to the Seaquarium in many years. We left disheartened and disgusted with the quality of the whole experience, from the decaying animal enclosures, the empty exhibits and tanks, the lack of staff and missing menu items from all the eateries, and the generally abandoned feeling of the whole place. The sea turtles were the worst part as we came across a dead turtle and another one that appeared to be in acute distress. We ran and told staff. No one called anyone or rushed off to help. We got the same response when we told a staff member that an electrical extension cord sitting on the ground near standing water had a huge chunk missing from it with exposed wires. We left immediately after.Between these things and the terrible smells present in different indoor areas of the park it just seems like the whole place is moldy, rusty and rotten. Im so disappointed. We drove an hour, paid $150 for 3 weekday tickets and $10 for parking, but all we got are a lifetime of terrible memories. Believe the bad reviews folks, and stay far far away.*** FYI: My family and I highly recommend Zoo Miami, and have always felt the animals and the grounds to be well cared for. Also Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton for anyone who would like to see how injured turtles are properly rehabilitated and housed if unable to be released.
MoreThe animals are nice to see. That in itself is an experience. Disappointed with the service relating to dolphin show. Their camera "malfunctioned" and we only got limited amount of pics from the end of the dolphin interaction. Flew here from Canada, spent $700 for my kids to interact with the dolphins. Would have liked the cameras to be working. They gave me a free print out of a pic that worked for compensation. Mixed experience.
MoreMy husband and I enjoyed some parts of our trip, but were very saddened by the treatment of some of the animals. Among the most concerning, three Manatees were swimming for show in a tank that was barely the size of the three of them.
MoreNeeds lots of improvements to its buildings. Showing its age. My kids enjoyed it. Definitely not worth the whole price try to get tickets discounted. We are fortunate they were having a cyber sale because of the holiday.
MoreSo much fun! Definitely worth checking out with the family - staff were all welcoming and knowledgeable and the exhibits were well taken care of. A few areas are still closed due to Covid but overall we enjoyed our visit and are glad we took a few hours to do so.
MoreThe staff was great but the exhibits need a major face-lift. I cant imagine the amount of upkeep but I commend the staff for caring for the animals and doing their best to educate and help with conservation.
MoreThis was a lovely day trip - make sure you schedule the time to see ALL the shows. My favorite parts of the Seaquarium all had to do with the rehab efforts --- manatee feedings (because the keeper taught me about animals that get hit by boats - thats really sadand the turtle swamp (its a rehab program / home for turtles that wouldnt otherwise survive in the wild / have 3 arms). I also had a lot of fun playing with the dolphins in the tank below the surface - I MADE THEM LAUGH by doing tricks! I didnt know dolphins could laugh, but I heard them!
MoreMiami Seaquarium is a beautiful place. I was amazed seeing the Dolphins show, actually that was the best part. If there was more species of sharks 🦈 to see it will be great. The See Lions are so beautiful. For some reason the whale 🐳 area is closed and so other areas are closed 🤷♀️ well for the full price of tickets 🎟 I really would have liked to see everything. When it comes to food 🍱 not much options and its not a problem, but the options you get unfortunately is Not yummy, so I recommend to have a good breakfast before or lunch 🥗.
MoreI loved coming with my family during the weekend! It was so much fun and I got to see amazing animals. The top deck show with the pirates was my favorite!!! Grandma also had a great time seeing seals and the dolphins soaked her 😂 can’t wait to return soon to see those majestic creatures.
MoreFun place to visit - a mix between an aquarium and a zoo with a few live shows. Kids of any age and even adults should be entertained for 2 to 3 hours. Some of the shows are very impressive. Plan to see all the shows and go see the live animals in between. We had a group of four adults and we stayed three to four hours and did pretty much everything. Not much for food options and I dont believe they let you bring your own food so thats something to consider.
MoreOverall a great experience! The staff are friendly and the park was beautiful. Sad that we missed Lolita, it wasn’t until we got there we found out the show was closed for renovations. We ended up doing the dolphins encounter which was amazing! It was longer than we expected, which was nice, and the trainers were really sweet! I highly recommend making this trip. The Miami Seaquarium is a Miami classic. I was transported to my childhood and I’m happy to share it with my children. 10/10 recommend. Go during the week and miss the crowd it’s much better!
MoreAmazing experience for the family. Sad we missed the whale show because it was closed. We didnt find this out until we bought the three pack summer tickets for the lion and zoo exhibit as well. But all around still amazing.
MoreThe best experience that I ever had, great people with great knowledge and love for their job and mission with the aquarium. Super clean and efficient. The animals are in great condition and the handlers treat them with care. I love that place and the people that work there. I recommend the Miami Seaquarium. A great place to visit with your family, friends or even alone. Go and explore these magnificent place.
MoreThis place is fun! If you get there when the park opens 10am you can knock out all the shows consecutively by 1230. Then youre free to enjoy the park until it closes at 5. You cannot get more intimate with these types of animals anywhere without paying major fees. We got splashed by a dolphin and petted sharks and stingrays all in the same day. Good times!
MoreWhat a cute place! My boyfriend and I enjoyed seeing all the animals and the gift shop was a fun place to visit on the way out. This was a great stop for a good half day of activities and they even had food and drink options in the park so you wouldnt have to worry about packing a picnic or leaving.Overall, we had a delightful time.
