So glad I stopped in. Really friendly welcoming staff, incredibly fast food delivery, excellent value for money and such a warm cosy vibe about the place. I’m definitely coming back with friends and family ❤️

Food was average, but more importantly the service was so strange. As soon as we put our cutlery down our plates were cleared, and we were asked every 5 minutes if we were ready for the next course which made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal or they wanted us to leave? This behaviour seemed especially odd because bar one other table, the restaurant was empty.Not sure whats going on there, but something needs to be reviewed.

Worst experience Ever, never coming back. Took 20 people, with 3 days notice so plenty of time to get extra people on to help, and it took 3 hours for half of the $40.00 menu option. We had to leave before getting half of if as we’d already waited 3 hours, staff didn’t care and we spend probably $500+ not including the many many margaritas we bought, you’d think they would care with people bringing in that kind of money, we asked to have money taken off the final total since we couldn’t eat the rest and they couldn’t make it for us to take away and they said no and that it wasn’t their problem… actually shocking, half of the 20 people we bought work in hospitality… we might as well have made it ourselves in the kitchen. And with better service, perhaps with Atleast a smile.

Always love Mexico Ellerslie, Service as always was great as always. Loved seeing that Impossible Meat options were on the menu. The Impossible chimichangas and Impossible Pork Tacos were some of the best food i have ever eaten. Will be sure to come back again soon!

Mexico Ellerslie is an enjoyable place to go for lunch, kudos to the staff who was very attentionate and easy to work with.Their fresh tacos are a must!

Food good. Not generous compared to a proper Mexican place. But tasty. Beer selection limited but adequate. Staff not lightning quick but friendly and efficient.

Table of 5 ate here last week, food was good, service was woeful. Took 15-20 mins for our drinks order to be taken, took almost as long to receive them (just one barman, assume that’s not normal and just short staffed).Once meals were finished, dirty dishes were left on table, asked server to clear them, we were told she was just clearing glasses🤔. Expected her to come back for dishes, but that didn’t happen. We were seated alongside the kitchen pass, someone I assume to be the manager was there the entire evening seemed, more concerned with turning out the many Uber eats orders coming out the kitchen than managing the restaurant, he never noticed anything from our table.I finally leaned over and asked him if he could clear plates, was told “ I’ll get a server to do that”, obviously below his pay grade, thought he might’ve grabbed one lot at least - yeah nah. He promptly returned to the pass to work on more Uber orders and never arranged a server to clear plates as indicated.Another 10 mins go by, I ask him again, he walks away and returns with clean side plates (even though the table is full of dirty plates, we’ve finished eating - must’ve misheard). Finally our server clears plates.Won’t be back I’m afraid.

Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. Excellent service. Prices a little high but they deserve it.

Good food. Terrible service. Restricted seating areas, couldn’t hear waiter over the music who stood at one corner of the table although we were spread across 2, I had to get up and walk over to hear him and make my order. Very sassy and unhelpful staff. Were told we can’t use tables at the front and leave the venue to see two front tables occupied?

Great service but terrible, dry and expensive quesadillas, meal portions were generally quite small, drinks were almost completely flat ($6.50 each), no options for the kinds of soft drinks available in every other restaurant out there, wait time was long

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! We took the kids and we all had the best time! The kids had the fish taco and veggie Nachos. They loved their chocolate brownie and churros. We all shared the Guacamole. Hamish and I had the Potato & chickpea masa tacos, Albondigas tacos, Crispy cauliflower florets, Chimichangas and Chocolate brownie. They were all vegan and all amazing! Plus the strawberry and guava margaritas were awesome!

One of my favourite lunch and dinner spots! The vegan options are incredible, the new menu is fresh and flavoursome and the margaritas are perfection. Highly recommend 10/10

Really gone downhill - 3 of us had quesadillas that were very dry and bland. Fried chicken good as always. Emailed my thoughts but no response.

Top notch food, service and music Playlist 🎶 😁. Margaritas are also amazing, especially the mango and passion fruit flavoured one. I suggest you try them all over multiple visits.The plate sizes were small, but in this instance they were plenty enough for the two of us.Far better experience than what Ive previously had at their flagship store in britomart.Overall, such a pleasant experience, and the staff here at Ellerslie are friendly, incredibly quick and efficient.Definitely suggest a visit or three!Great for date nights with ambient light and music, or a great group catch up as they have the space/tables to accommodate usually.

Dined here this afternoon for lunch with my sister and boyfriend. The wait staff recommended the degustation plate which was simply out of this world! The meal was delicious! The venue is very comfortable. Nice staff including the guy from the Philippines. He made our experience even more merrier. We would definitely return! Great work!

Service was slow. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Food was great, but the service was shocking! When I mentioned it the staff argued with me.

I went for a work event and we had "The Mexico Fiesta" the food was amazing and plentiful, a great experience! Loads of delicious gluten free options, excellent food and service. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

We are totally addicted to the Mexican Flat Bread. We ordered it once as an extra item in a bigger order expecting it to just be a bit of a filler because the description sounds quite plain. Unexpectedly it’s absolutely delicious, and we have since ordered it multiple times on its own, sometimes several at once. I don’t know quite what makes it so divine - the pancake base, or the two kinds of cheese, the chilli, or I’m sure there’s some sort of spiced sauce on there too - whatever it is, its now my happy place. Please never stop offering these, they’re amazing!

Finally got to try this place! Its usually closed everytime we come looking. Keeping to a humble 3 stars. Margaritas were nice, fried chicken entree was tasty, enchiladas were alright 👍, and quesadilla was decent. Staff were attentative and pleasant. Excellent space.BIGGEST ISSUE: your portion sizes are shocking. Dinner for two: $100, with two tiny Karaffs of Margheritas and essentially three entrees. The full portion of quesadilla looked like a half and the enchiladas were two meager rolls. The chicken entree was the biggest item we recieved. Im just saying if we spend 100 bucks, get an entree and mains with four smalls drinks, we shouldnt have to go looking at other restaurants down the road to feel full.I wish I could support you guys but I just cant after that. A bit disappointing 😞 if youre looking for tapas and have a couple hundred bucks, this is your place.

Came here few times with friends and work colleagues for lunch over the past few years. Obviously few changes under the red traffic light system. Felt safe as staff followed all the rules. I asked for the vaccine pass. Staffs were on masks all the time. On those notes, place was a bit quiet and staffs kept asking whether they could take our cups and empty plates away....

Randomly selected this restaurant, fortunately, it’s a big surprise for us! The Tuesday special combo is only $14 for a Margaret and a Taco. The food is very very nice! And the environment is so cool, isn’t it?!

Look I love this place simple menu tasty food and great service. Something for most and kid friendly

Looks Damn good and unique, full of ancient pictures, drawings and artistic work all over the walls, tried a different kind of food here, really like the pork belly burger and i added the extra hot sauce (they serve u once asked). Nice cocktails and lunch specials. I imagined they would have Nachos like every other Mexican place, but they dont. Overall nice experience and friendly staff.

Good food. Nice environment. Food arrived relatively quickly despite being very busy. Friendly and informative staff. Drinks are ok.

My second visit to Mexico. Modern texmex fare served in a cantons style restaurant. Service was outstanding until it was time to pay the bill - other than that 5 stars

Four of came here for dinner and as usual, Mexico did not disappoint! Some people tell me that Mexico is too mainstream but I cannot say no to a taco from here!We ordered the five spiced duck leg taco, esquites, Mexico fried chicken, the slow cooked lamb shoulder quesadilla and three taco Tuesday specials (a fried chicken or fried cauliflower taco with a margarita for $14- everyone in our group got the fried chicken 🍗The lamb quesadilla was out of this world, we all loved it and my duck taco was amazing - they did not skimp on the duck either! If you want to try I’d recommend heading in ASAP, Mexico changes their menu seasonally and I don’t remember seeing a duck taco on the menu ever before!Try one of the margaritas or one of the sugar free sofas, I didn’t have one this time but they never disappoint.My only complaint is that one of the staff members seemed so bored and we could hardly hear her. We also asked for extra tortillas with our esquitas (I ask for this each time and it’s never an issue, I just pay an extra charge), our server said he would ask but never got back to us and we did not get the extra tortilla :(

Nice drinks.I would say a good place for big groups. The dishes are nice but def not autentic Mexican ( if anyone know a good Mexican place in NZ give me a shout cause I think there is none). Missing the real flavours...But then again if you want some funky sangria or margheritas with ok food to share, this is your spot.

Mexico. A star in the Mexican food market. What a great experience. The service is good. The food is great. The drink options are plentiful. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I love all the artwork on the walls, always something cool to look at. Try the fried chicken and youll order it for every visit like I do. I must say I love the crispy soft-shell crab taco too. A great selection of margaritas to choose from but also you cant go wrong with a Corona. If you like corn then youll love the esquites. I guess my only complaint would be that it seems that every time I visit they are out of guacamole, whether it is poor planning or its so good they run out, either way its still disappointing. Over all, highly recommended.

Ive been here twice and both times it has been utterly delightful, with excellent food and service. I think maybe the menu is a little small - only a few options in each category - but everything on it tastes great.

Decent food and authentic Mexican vibe, very popular at lunch with all the businesses around. We didnt book in advance for 8 people but they still managed to accommodate us. Prices are relatively decent and meals are a good size. They also have a app to get an individual discount on :)

Spent time there on Friday night.The atmosphere was good, the drink was awesome. The food like Mexico fired chicken was so yum. Staffs were nice and helpful. We got delivered a wrong dish and they changed the right one for us within 10 mins.If you wanna spend your night in a cozy place, and your love the Mexico food & drink, here is for u.

Really good meal here. Fried chicken with the beautiful mayonnaise. Soft shelled taco wirh lamb. And jackfruit quesadilla. Washed down with song genuine Mexican sodas.

Delicious tacos ! We ordered a couple of tacos and the fried chicken. Our favorite was the pork taco. Really good. The drinks were nice too. Service was great too.

Excellent service, and food was very yummy. Ordered the fried chicken which was to die for. Also had white coloured cola. The deco was very good, especially when we went on the day of th dead.

2nd time here and yet again we were impressed by the tacos. The menu apparently changes every 6months, what a great way to keep the crowd coming back. Todays favourite has to be the fish taco, so flavoursome! Absolute delight. Hubby loved the duck taco ( it was a close 2nd for meWe also liked the slow cooked lamb meat! And the guava and mint margarita was delicious :p

We had dinner here the first day we arrived, nice Mexican Restaurant. The owner Jamie was very helpful in telling as what was nice to order, we settled for the Sticky Pork Ribs & Soft Crispy Pork Tacos

Love this place! best fried chicken in town, the vibe is awsome good for after work functions/meet ups and also familys.. one down for parking can be a bugger but that what you get for a popular place i guess 👍

Service is quick, its inexpensive, delicious and the sangria is awesome. Great vibes easy to drop in and have a great meal. Love this place!
