Set in a low-rise building, this straightforward budget hotel is on an industrial park, 2.5 miles from Middlesbrough town centre and 3.3 miles from Middlesbrough Football Club.Basic rooms come with bunk and double beds, and include 42-inch flat-screen TVs and free WiFi. All rooms have washbasins and share bathroom facilities. There's free parking on-site.
Very clean and private. Great value for money and the staff were all lovely people.
Lovely room reasonably priced gets a bit rowdy at night
Guy during the night did not speak the best, sounded tired and struggled with certain English words bless him, just was not fully helpful when requesting rooms, happy not staying here since it looks run down.We went inside and it was quite loud from certain guests in rooms there, we never got a room here since again fully booked, requested advice and did not get any useful infomation other than you should try Middlesbrough for rooms. Its probably best not staying here, again the rooms are small, guests are loud and staff there seem more tired than motivated, anyway to sum up this "Metros Inns" would be straight up avoid it, can save much more money sleeping better on the streets than here.1 star - tired staff, low quality building with loud guests and very small rooms, not worth paying £30 a night either, happier Ive paid £75 for a room elsewhere with a shower and toilet than a run down place with low quality rooms. This place reminds me of a hostel more than a hotel with shared bathroom facilities, makes it jolly excellent when another stinks up the room, not a massive fan on sharing wash facilities to find pubes or hair thats not your own, disgusting especially when they do not clean up the darn toilet.
Always stay there when back home
It does was it says on the tin!
2 friends and I stayed at this hotel as we were attending Radio 1s Big Weekend for the day. We checked into the room early before heading to the festival. The outside of the hotel was dirty, the sign was barely visible. We were greeted by an unfriendly woman who was sitting behind a huge desk. Our room was covered in stains, there was stains on the walls and on the bedsheets. The corner of the room was mouldy, the kettle was full of dust. The toilets were the cleanest part of this hotel, we would have been better sleeping in there. Overall a shocking experience, we all slept in our clothes on top of the bedsheets.
No heating in the room the kettle lead was held together with tape and the room was dirty 👎🏼
You get what you pay for. Outside poorly lit upon later arrival, felt more like a sleezy motel. Room was more like a cupboard. Thankfully had to leave within an hour of arriving so managed to escape sleeping in the bed. Guy on reception was friendly enough though.Definitely wont use again. Sorry.
night porter knocked on our door at 10pm when we were asleep sounded like someone trying to force the door was quite scared .people on ground floor shouting until 6am had no sleep women climbing in windows smoking green ive stayed here a few times and nobody has tried to get in our room before was so scared the lady there said it was a new night porter staff dont talk and the night porters are awful the newcastle mrtro inn totslly different
Rooms are too small and don’t have their own toilet and shower. We didn’t have good sleep due to mattress being not supportive enough.
Exactly as described. Wouldve been nice if the radiator worked, but we paid less than 25 pound for the room, so expectations were suitably low
Good very helpful staff and rooms nice and clean what you expect for £27 pound a night
Get what you pay for...prefect for us on a kayaking weekend, clean warm and hot showers 👍
Tiny room cant move toilets and shower even smaller and they are communal, look just like a portaloo
Been here a few times now cant say it was all bad apart from when a large male (manager/owner)? came and knocked on my door late at night I HAVE TO STATE TO YOU PEOPLE HE MADE SOME BULL SH** EXCUSE TO TALK AND ENTER THE ROOM HIS EYES WOULD NOT STOP STARING AT ME, VERY UNACCEPTABLE AND MADE ME NERVOUS
Very cheap accommodation. Sizeable TV in the room. Ample, secure parking. Bed comfortable enough for the price and room was a good size. Communal bathrooms were small but nice and clean. Excellent conversation from the crane driver who manned the reception desk and he was more than helpful.
Cheap and cheerful great staff always! Cant knock it for the room price. Asda superstore just 5 mins walk as well. Good base or an ideal overnighter
Good budget hotel. Toilets and showers are on the corridors, but there is plenty of them and they all seem to be clean and well maintained. There is a self-catering kitchen upstairs, great to make something quick if you dont fancy take away. For £27.00 there is nothing to complain about. Clean, welcoming and cheap.
You get what you pay for. My family and I use this place every time were in Middlesborough, and its unfortunate to see how the poor actions of other stayers has led to the decline of the environment overall. Over the years I have seen management have to tighten up on customer facilities (e.g. extension cables, television remotes, kitchen utensils etcas others often abuse this. Despite this, I commend management and staff for taking necessary measures to keep this business afloat because there are other more expensive places to stay that fail to deliver to this standard.I would recommend this place if you drive and plan for a quick and simple stop over; not a luxurious break away.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.Rooms were small, grubby, damp and cramped. It was an uncomfortable sleep. They had a cat in the building, men drinking with cans everywhere outside, the disabled toilets didnt even lock and the normal toilets were tiny, flushed infrequently and the indicator lights on the outside didnt work at all. Rubbish outside the windows, in the units. Sticky surfaces. All in all, yes it is cheap, but personally doesnt even meet the minimum habitable standard unless youre drunk or do not care.
Not really somewhere to come and relax, strictly a bunk for the night and if youre lucky the other inmates will let you sleep.Metro Inns is basically a big cheap doss-house at the scrag-end of an industrial estate which is suitable for manual labourers away from home, truck drivers, impoverished young backpackers, students or locals who are unable to spend the night at their own homes due to traumatic relationship breakdowns... or maybe mental illness. We surmised this because there was a bunch of foreign blokes all sitting around outside the front entrance drinking and smoking and there was arguing and banging at doors and windows of neighbouring rooms in the middle of the night until the police arrived. Some hidden cameras could turn Metro Inns into a gritty working class reality soap, probably.Although there was no remote control for the TV in the room our TV would switch on by itself and change channels by itself so Im guessing there was a communal remote in a nearby room! (Or maybe a poltergeist? We unplugged the TV in the end. Judging by the scorched pizza box and empty cans on the grass outside our window some of the other guests dispose of rubbish by simply flinging it out of their rooms. My wife and kids endured the noise and the grubby sheets until about 2am then decided to try their luck elsewhere. The cheap rooms are a real pull if money is tight and you desperately need somewhere, and dont mind that your fellow inmates may also be hard up and desperate. I would stay here again if it were just me on my own, or if I were here with mates.
Only gave this a 1 star cuz I couldnt do a minus. Disgusting is the overall term. Dirty not looked after venue dangerous grounds refuse bins overflowing building project left unstarted with concrete sand wood left by bbq area which quite frankly has seen better days. Staff lazy rude unprofessional. PLEASE someone shut this place down it gives a very bad impression of metro inns.
Clean comfy bed big tv perfect when u just need a place to sleep
Really impressed with metro inns teesside. For the price me and my fiancee cant complain. Tea, coffee in room on arrival. Fresh clean beading and towels. The w/c and shower rooms were spotless. Nice big flat screen TV in the room. The reception area was fine. Friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for a great stay metro inns we shall definitely be returning
Its all good. Shared bathroom, but plenty of them so I never encounter other guest while using it.
Basic accommodation popular with trades people.Has advantage of shared kitchen.
My friend and I stayed here last night as its cheaper than getting a taxi home. I was quite surprised how nice it was to be honest clean tidy shared bathroom not an issue. The only thing that massively let it down was the tall bloke who was working the night shift on reception. As we were heading out on the night he went out of his way to come and tell us how we should behave when we get back not to make noise ect we are both In our early 30s and we were quite insulted actually. When we got back we were chatting on the bed and he came and knocked on the door and told us to be quiet! Very rude not our fault you were having to work on a Saturday night in a job you obviously dont like!
Nice room good tea and coffee making facilities nice clean sheets only issue matters and bed worn out few springs felt in my back during night
Staying in my did not get cleaned and when I want to get refill coffee got told had to pay £1.50 for something that should be free not happy should come with room
This is exactly what we were expecting. Very cheap, basic rooms. But clean and tidy and with additional bonuses such as a communal kitchen (although didnt quite have everything we needed and not everything had been washed up properly, so not everyone would want to cook here). The toilets were fine and functional and we decided wed forgo a shower! Im not sure wed want to stay here more than one night (we were woken in the middle of the night by people shouting at each other), but for somewhere to sleep for one night it was incredible value at £8 each and just what we needed. If youre fussy, dont stay here. But if, like us, you get excited by simple pleasures like a kettle in your room and clean towels, enjoy!
Just an amazine experience lovely ppl and kitchen to die for, rooms are warm and comfortable and so so clean one of the best
Does exactly what it says on the tin. A budget hotel thats clean and well presented with lovely helpful staff. Well happily come again.
I thinks its a great place, you can just go getting cracking with the front desk who r fabulous, its not to everyone ones statuses but I really liked it, very cozy room I had and the prices you cant beat, they dont come knocking on morning to clean just to see if you need anything, shared loos and showers clean and stocked, Oh and the main desk has a cat hes so cute and friendly perfect lap warmer. Added to the stay the cat definitely did lol loved him.
This appears to be no more that a drug den. The first thing to hit you when you walk in is the smell of cannabis. But I guess you get what you pay for
Cheap and cheerful. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Was quiet and a great budget place to stay for two nights while in town for a tattoo appointment. Would stay again!
You get what you pay For! Ideal for someone on a budget looking for a warn comfortable bed for the night. Nothing spectacular but its a basic hotel at a basic price. Free parking free WiFi, clean rooms and friendly staff. What more can you ask for at £27?
Really good rooms, if needed anything really helpful staff and there is a fully equipped kitchen for everyone to use
Surprisingly good for a low budget hotel shame that they dont do food rooms nice and warm and cosy .
The room is not clean the blind is filthy and the mirror and wall near the bed the wall paper is coming off and marks all over the wall and ceiling the quilt cover is ripped and the toilets on the landing are absolutely soaked and would definitely not recommended anyone to come to this hotel
Budget rooms, clean and warm. Lots of shower and toilet cubicles. Was a bit worried it would be dirty and noisy. But we slept soundly & there seemed to be other families there too. Great for large families on a budget.
Big TV, clean toilets, reasonably comfortable, very cheap, would recommended!
Full of refugees rooms stinking showers are button operated 10 seconds per push not good to wash off soap and find the button to engage the shower when it goes off
Very cheap. Friendly service. This is the most basic hotel you can find. Not attractive location, communal toilets are not great. Feels a bit dodgy. But hey, £27, what do u expect. All in good value, but u might decide to pay more next time.
My partner and I have stayed at the hotel in Stockton 4 years in a row. Love it staff are lovely , rooms are clean.
Great price for a clean and quiet room with a large TV, Free parking in car park, sink and large mirror also a kettle in the room is a nice touch especially for travellers and walkers.Toilet and showers are not in the room but just a few meters away down corridor so bring a dressing gown. Spoke to the staff and manager who are very nice and are improving the hotel with new facilities. The garden with water feature and flowers in pots and baskets are a nice touch.
You get what you pay for. It is a one star hotel and does that well.It is a cheap place to stay with space-efficient rooms. Clean and well maintained rooms. The staff is nice and there is a cute cat at the reception. There is a proper kitchen free to use. There is a general lack of sockets and showers and bathrooms are communal (didnt have any problems with queues though). Free WiFi, though not very fast and rather temperamental.I enjoyed my stay!
Cheap accommodation with adequate quality rooms and a good kitchen. Did the job for an extremely reasonable price. We stay here every year for our competition.
Rooms were small no lighting or plug sockets. Plus side was a TV and side lamp. No bathrooms ensuite toilets not too far from room like area plane size and space.
The only bonus about the hotel was that it was cheap! Staff werent that friendly and the bed was very springy. You get what you pay for.
Basic and very cheap accommodation, in the middle of an Industrial estate, just off the A19 , only places for eating at night is a McDonald s about 15 mins walk, so if your after scenic or near to restaurants/pubs its not for you, really only for people passing threw and/or workers/contractors on a job in the vicinity.Facility`s were basic with shared showers/toilets at end of the corridors ,rooms are small but do have a sink,TV and kettle.Would stay again as it served its purpose.
