33 Mounts Bay Rd, Perth WA 6000, Australia, Perth
Hip venue with modern decor and a red bar, dishing up gourmet burgers and share plates.
The lady today was great, chefs forgot to cook our food. When asked wife got someone elses steak which was good, my parmi was microwaved because it was rushed. Never again!
Not really sure about the food but the drinks were over priced and the gin and soda seemed to have no gin. We will avoid this bar and go elsewhere..
Went here for pre show dinner and drinks, we both had the burger and fries, very tasty burger and fries had a nice crunch, a nice place to go especially if you’re watching a show over at the PCEC, literally 2 minutes walk from the venue.
Paid 70$ for food only to be turned down when we asked for extra sauce, very rude customer Service.
The prawn linguine pasta was excessively seasoned with too much salt to the point where the dish was unpleasant. In hindsight I should have returned the dish. The restaurant vibe is good, but I don’t recommend coming here for food.
Its ok. Large food sizes. Often not fresh. Expensive. It cost me $8 to add chicken to my salad and I got three nearly bite size pieces only.
Tré provided exceptional customer service and was a good laugh, definitely recommend visiting the venue!
We held my daughters 21st at Metro last night and could not be happier with the result. Everyone had a fabulous time thanks to the planning and service by Brooke and her team. The staff running the function were capable, polite and attentive, the food was fantastic and the venue clean and very well presented. Our guests were very complimentary! Thanks guys!
Had the lamb and chimichuri which was outstanding. My brother and sis in-law happy with their dishes too. Quiet night when we went, get along and support this place, you wont be disappointed.
I love the service of this place. Sure the food is great too I also had the steak and Karage Chicken which it always a fan favourite. The beer of choice is the Colonial Small Batch, beautiful drop when serve chilled which Metro Bar did 👌Well done Metro Bar great all around
Went for dinner with my wife and was pleasantly surprised. Food was great, had two bottles of champagne, friendly service! Keep up the good work
The food here was very unpleasant. The chips were so salty they were inedible. My partners steak sandwich was horrible. My burger was almost cold, it arrived quite quickly so I was surprised at how cold it was. When told we were not happy with the food the staff just said oh well , sorry to here that. Definitely wont be going back there.
A great venue for a function with fantastic food platters, a superb grazing board, all washed down with happy hour drinks, beer wine and spirits! The service is excellent and a big shout out to Freddie, who looked after us well and made sure we had music that suited our group, with a DJ who took many requests. Ideal for a Friday sundowner!
Very nice , the staff is very polite and helpful , and the food was good as well
Food ok .Bar staff very friendly.Have had better choices.
Visited Metro bar today for work lunch. To my amazement, there were hardly any vegetarian / vegan options. Baffling in these days and times. They did make margarita pizza on request but it was not tasty and was very bland. They need to look at their menu options.
Great food and service sat down in the restaurant Great cocktails! Must book very busy Friday night!
Had a great brunch here today. The lady staff member (said she was initially from Manjimup)- very nice and welcoming. Great customer service. Food was really nice too. Recommend the arranchini and the karaage chicken.
Great food, friendly service, good wine, I will be back!Great place for a nice quiet meal in the city or a drink after work
Had the most amazing function at Metro Bar last night. Food, service, venue all was spot on
Served me a non-alcoholic mojito in a martini glass and announced to the group it was a mocktail. I was the only order on my number and the only number at the table, so it had to be mine, and there was no sensitivity to why someone might order a mocktail. The pork was also way too salty, you could scrape the salt off what was trying to be crackling. The arancini balls were amazing.
Male staff to me were curt, unfriendly and unengaging. I was civil (civility costs you nothing).Just a smile and a welcome would be good. Seems thats too hard. Not the first time. Indeed the third. Enough.I stay at the attached Adina Apartments Hotel now for a week every three for the time being. Many family will be arriving for an interstate reunion soon. While Metro would be convenient for us, well be going elsewhere.Female staff here are very pleasant and helpful. You know what I think?I think male staff and management here wont give a damn about this review.
Not the friendliest staff and event manager! Pre ordered food and received wrong order. Definitely a rip off.
Great location, very handy to the PCEC. Friendly staff, who were aware of our concert booking and provided efficient service. The mushroom risotto was one of the best Ive ever tried. Will definitely go back! :-)
Witnessed the most awful customer treatment I’ve ever seen. A guy who asked for a steak knife and was told by a waitress she didn’t have time to get him one, went to the cashier who literally ripped the meal from him and spoke really rudely to him. Tables were piled high with used dishes. Wait staff were either completely overrun or couldn’t care less. It was difficult to tell which it was. Meal times are busy, if you’re in hospitality that’s how it should be. The owner of the restaurant would have been horrified to see what was happening. It’s called customer service for a reason. There was none. And by the by, the coffee took forever and was cold and awful. This was on Friday March 26th if management is interested in speaking to the staff concerned.
My mums steak was dryer than the Nullarbor when she asked for it to be rare. It was that chewy. My pizza had bacon not prosciutto and my husbands burger patty was so dry and burnt I would have been embarrased to actually serve it. Avoid if you dont want to waste over $50
Brought out a steak without cutlery. I requested a steak knife but they were all out. I asked for a refund and staff were incredibly rude. Told me the steak should be fine with a regular knife and was incredibly rude
We went for a feast on Saturday night and the food was amazing! It definitely lived up to its expectation. There was so much food. The karaage chicken, meatballs and steak were delicious. Staff were great, attentive and friendly, nothing was a bother. We will definitely be back!
Great value Friday steak and drink deal. Steak quality is a bit of a lucky dip but for $10 cant go too far wrong.
Nyeh! Really average. Staff were aloof and more interested in putting up reserved signs to close the bar for a private function than actually serve the customers they had. Doors were closed at 4pm and we were made to feel we had to leave. Can appreciate the need to sell function space but not at the detriment of current paying customers. There are ways of partitioning a space such that you get the best of both worlds, and if theyre isnt then dont oversell your available space. Prices are high for the standard of service and choice as well.
We went to Metro Bar for the Melbourne Cup. Customer Service was ok but in general a few little things that didnt get 5 stars... the steak was quite hard to cut and we were only given a serrated knife on request, a bottle of local wine that you can get for $17 at the shops was $55, the dessert was quite disappointing it was too sweet, the chocolate on top was impossible to cut so could barely eat some just ate the ice cream, the entree was ok. Although we pre order our food for the event it took a very long time to be served, however they gave us a glass of sparkling as an apology. Staff was good, but food/menu needs to be reviewed. The layout of the tables was very busy. Closest parking for us was at the Convention Centre $23 x 5 hours.
Great bar and restaurant straight across from the Convention centre. Good food and service
Went for "High Tea". The only thing high about it was the price. The food was awful. It came out in dips and drabs and there were no pots of tea which is destinctive for a "High Tea" will not go back there and certainty would not suggest to my friends as I would be embarrassed if I were the person who had recommended it to them. Had something decent to eat when we got home.
We were so well looked after with the kitchen performing a small miracle when they should have gone home! Salad was fresh, string chips excellent and the calamari succulent
I had my 30th birthday here on Saturday night and the venue was amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful, venue is perfect for a group of 150 people which was hard to find in the CBD, drinks were good, and omg the food is the best function food i have had! Highly reccomend. Thank you to Brooke for helping with everything along the way.
My breakfast was delicious, shame about the wait for my partners meal to come out and when i made the enquiry and got attitude from the manager. If you pay for 2 breakfasts ideally they come out together. It finally came out cold again went to complain and told they could either reheat it which would take 20 mins. Wont be returning.
Came here last night for dinner with my girlfriend and had a wonderful evening. We had the scotch fillet and the saffron linguini both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked! Paired with a lovely cocktail and glass of wine and some excellent service we had a very enjoyable experience!! Will definitely be back soon!
Unfortunately I cant choose zero stars. The food it overpriced and very underwhelming.I thought I had ordered a steak sandwich, however it feels like I am currently eating a leather boot sandwhich.Ill be making a point of not returning.
Cant believe they are charging $2 for aioli and $2 for tomato sauce. What a rip off. That $10 steak deal actually costs $14... terrible way to manage a business. Take your sauces in advanced to save you $4
Basically the worst service I have ever encountered. Arrived at 6:50pm. Had to wait 20 mins just to have our order taken. Drinks still have not arrived and it is currently 7:25pm. They have not even brought out any water.Unsure if we will make our show at the PCEC.Do not bother dining here. Unorganised staff and the restaurant isnt even half full. Incompetent.
Do NOT have your wedding here. They will put you and ypur guests in the mix with general public in the bar. Guests are squeezed in next to the kitchen ( table 60cms away from the busy service window)
By far the worst latte I have ever had. 2/3 of the coffee was frothed milk and not great coffee under that. Followed by hard pouched eggs and enough hollandaise sauce for 2 plates of eggs Benedict. To top off my experience at metro bar and bistro I had them painting the wall next to my as I ate my breakfast.
Had a great dinner here Friday night and had a great meal and drinks. Lamb and arancini were a standout, good beer selection, great friendly service, and good music
I had the most amazing event on Friday for my corporate work group. The food was superb, service from Manager Aaron was impeccable and the process of booking the event was made so simple with the help of Brooke the event co-ordinator. Everyone was thoroughly impressed and we will be booking future events with Metro Bar and Bistro. Thank you and keep up the good work
Dinner was great. Sat outside in a non smoking area last night. A customer was smoking he was then joined by 3 staff who also smoked. I have asthma so we had to leave which was dissapointing
Last night was my first night in Perth. After traveling for over 30hrs I needed some quick and easy food so my wife and I decided to check out Metro Bar & Bistro out of convenience (staying in same bldg). I had the blackened chicken salad. The combination of mango, mint and lime was very fresh and light. The chicken was a tad over cooked but overall I was decently satisfied. Well be checking out this place out again in the near future.
We had our wedding and reception at The Metro Bar & Bistro last night and cannot speak highly enough of Brooke and Amanda and the staff who went above and beyond to look after everyone. The food was exceptional, the wait staff were so attentive and the venue itself is stunning!
We had a beautiful lunch there today, the food was so good ...especially the fillet steaks. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back !!!! Thankyou 👌🏻😀
We had our Wedding Reception on March 3rd 2013 at the Metro Bar and Bistro and could not have been more delighted..The service was impeccable, the chefs were amazing, the food was raved about by all our guests and the location was amazing. Our wedding contact at Metro was Brooke, who was professional, helpful and did everything in her power to make our day perfect. She answered emails promptly and always had time to help us with any queries we had..particulary in the final week leading up to the wedding. The venue is a cool, funky place anyway but the staff really put the finishing touches on the decorations and it looked fabulous. We were served an amazing array of wines and beers with the friendly bar staff making sure our glasses were never empty. The floating entree was plentiful and spectacular (oh the king prawns!!!and kept up fo the entire hour. Followed by delicious dips and warm ciabatta on each of the tables. Our mains were a choice of wild mushroom rissotto with truffle oil or a scotch fillet with parmesan mash, vegetables and a red wine jus. All tables had a great salad and vegetables. It was overwhelming how many of our guests sent their compliments to the chefs. There were great options for the children too which we appreciated. The dessert was a HUGE selection of lollies for the Candy Buffet in the wedding colours of red, black and white, with some delicious chocolate covered strawberries which was a suprise to us and much appreciated.Overall our experience was phenominal here, the price was right, the food was amazing and the staff were friendly and consumate professionals. We ate at the Metro many times in the lead up to our wedding and tried food off the different menus they have had. I have not had a bad meal there ever!I cannot say enough if you are looking for a wedding reception venue that has a cool city vibe stop looking and book in for a meal and try them out...if you are not looking for a wedding venue and are just after a lunch or dinner..try them they are the best in Perth!!
A heavily meat focused menu leaves only a couple of vegetarian options. They are very nice though, although on the small side (for dinner). The breakfast menu is good and full of options. Super friendly staff make it worth the visit
