Mesquite Grill - Grill in Edinburg, United States
Rib eye steak is good 👍
I had seen this place a lot of Facebook and decided to go for my birthday. Went around 5pm and there was no body. The employees were gathered in the front talking. Our server was polite and took our order. I ordered the fajita enchiladas and was expecting a different taste. The meat had a very smokey taste and the sauce tasted like mole. Not the kind of enchiladas I like. Food was portioned accordingly. Overall I wasnt thrilled about this place but it just wasnt for me.
Best steaks Ive had in a while. Big shout out to Chef Steven for cooking up some of the best hunks of meat Ive eaten in the valley to date. 10/10 you better go eat there
I met my new lover here. It was an affair- although brief, infinitely unforgettable. Every contact my lips made felt like a hot forbidden kiss. No way on earth is something so succulent should be allowed to exist. I fell in love, and will definitely come back for another taste of him. Whats his name, asks you? My Mr.Perfect Medium-Rare Ribeye Steak.
Very juicy, tender and just right on the seasoning❣ Best place to get a steak. Great price and food is delicious
Ive been coming here for more than 12 yrs and TODAY WAS OUR LAST VISIT. We just had the worst experience with Andrea, the waitress. She was rude, indifferent and apathetic towards our concerns. This type of service should concern the business owner. We would go there even when at times half of the menu was not available and the ice tea had been watered down.
The food was ok. I ordered the street tacos with fajita my mom ordered fajita plate it was bland!!! The charro beans were ok. The service was fine.
Great ribeye steak. It was large and juicy. Great potatoes as well, satisfied my hunger and I was surprised at the cost of my date 🙊 good food at a reasonable price!
Keep going back. Love their rib eye steak and their menu selection has a wide variety of choices.
Returned to this restaurant today: the place smelled really bad. It smelled like dirty mops and dirty rags. None of the servers wear masks.I generally enjoy eating here. Today I found a small shard of metal in my food. I showed it to the waiter. He took it. I wasnt offered an Apology. I wasnt offered a discount. That was really disappointing.
Food was absolutely AMAZING!! Fresh and flavorful with amazing service! This is definitely a restaurant to come back to day to day, year after year! Desserts were hot brownies and pies with cold and delicious ice cream on top. Ate everything so fast, we didnt even take pictures
It was a wast of time and money going to mesquite grill. Ive been before and the food was decent, but now its terrible. I ordered a brisket taco that should of had cheese and beans. Instead I got a cold tortilla filled with seemed to be chuck roast trying to pass off as brisket. The other dishes ordered were not as expected as well, you have options I suggest you go somewhere else.
This place was highly recommended by my father in-law. However, i did not share the same experience as he has had in the past. We went for an early Saturday dinner. However, it may be because they are closed on Sundays, but they didnt have salsa, guacamole, bread, salad, or cheese. Waiter had to go ask the back in some menu items were available. I ordered a T-Bone steak and they brought me a ribeye steak instead. Taste of food was okay. But, service was subpar. Waiter seemed inexperienced and awkward. This only added to a overall bad dining experience.
Loved my visit here to the Mesquite Grill. Try the nachos with jalapeños and the 1/2 chicken plate...we had these today with a side salad and they were fantastic! Plus, optional mask wearing when you walk into the restaurant, which is awesome!
Very nice server, clean and great prices
On October 23rd at 7pm; Trenton location.Terrible experience. Waited 40 minutes for 2 burgers. 2 other tables were served within 15 minutes even though we were there before them. Thats because they had steaks. I remember this place being great but not anymore as I saw no communication. No one offered any refills for the 40 minutes; or info on why it took so long. We walked out after they served the 2nd table next to us. I asked what happened to our order and he said, "its ready". It wasnt, so we walked out with no food on our table. Empty handed😥
All I have to say is wow in a great way, thank goodness I didnt listen to friends when they said not to eat there. I think its cause they didnt want to share the place but it was worth eating lunch there 😋
Its a good place to come to during quarintine, the two servers are nice(and kinda hot🤣and the foods amazing. My personal favorite is the fajita plate with chicken. The fried ocra is to die for as well, its made just right, however it does kinda fall apart easily. Anyways, if the servers can see this, this is from the boy with the pink and blue sports mask😷
This is for the new location on North 10th. I was very disappointed not only were two of the employees not wearing masks or gloves the majority of my brisket was all fat! I paid for brisket not fat and during this pandemic I cannot stress enough about the importance of masks and gloves especially when handling food! I will definitely not be going back to this location!
This is for the one on 10th st. I didn’t get bread or was offered anything like tortillas. I didn’t have any at home and eating it alone tastes “bla.” So much for trying a new place. I’d assume a meal would have everything ready to be eaten. I’ll be going back to my favorite Bar B cutie and Rudys. #impregnant #quarantineandidontgoout
I heard good things and wish I could have at least tried the food. I walked in with a group of four with no acknowledgement and no direction on where to sit. We sat at a table waiting over 10 min with no one coming over to attend to us. One of my friends got up themselves to get menus. After no help for another 5 minutes we decided to leave. On our way out one of the workers was just hanging by the cashier on her phone. Very sad to have poor service when someone recommended this place, I wont be going back.
When I travel to Edinburg, TX I stop by and have a steak here. Its always cooked perfectly. Staff is friendly and attentive. The place is relaxing.
Came here for Dinner and had a Salad. The salad was Delicious!!! The waiter was quick taking my order. Very clean place. Would recommend this place to my Family and Friends.
Great dinner this evening. Botana was well served withPlenty of fajita. Quick service and plenty of drink refills. Dessert was awesome. Will definitely visit again.
Ordered lunch and waited one hour, only to see our plates go to another table. Excuse from them was they made a mistake. Sad part to all this madness is that we were suppose to get a discount (key word: suppose, almosted overcharged too. EVEN SADDER, Food tasted good, it was probably great, but cold and sitting in box, killed that. I will not come here again. Order to go cause they need better service. CROSS YOUR FINGERS on the To Go Orders
They were out of Miller lite but the ribeye special more than made up for it, I thought the waitresses were hot. Great value
The meat portions are good but they need to better their side menu. The charro beans are not charro beans they are more like just plain pinto beans. The okra is a joke. They just cook it whole. No tomatoes or onions or spices added. I did like the refried beans. Not going their again. Sorry.
I was surprised at the delicious meals they have at mesquite Grill. I had a brisket sandwich my friends had the t- bone meal. My sandwich was good but the t- bone was better. Im from the small town in Driscoll about 20 mile south of corpus Christi. Next time Im in the valley Ill be sure to stop at Mesquite Grill. That one small taste of t-bone i had was so delicious I need to try the whole meal.
Reasonably priced and casual, this is a good place for a lunch. The ribeye steak was on special and was one of the best $10 steaks Ive had.
Great service...good food...fair prices
First time visiting and had an awful experience. Service was extremely slow 1.5 hrs for two people, no limes, no avocado (paid for $12 burrito that came out with no avocado and no warning), and out of 3 types of beers. I ended up eating my rice with a knife and didnt get my water with no ice. I was hoping the food would make up for it, but the queso on my burrito was so salty I had to turn it over and eat only the inside. Maybe it was a bad day or this happened because it was lunch time, but we wont be returning or recommending.
The brisket enchiladas were okay. The sauce seemed to be from a can. The beans were really flavorful, however the rice was bland and dry.
I like eating here, the brisket is really tender it feels like barbacoaDescent prices, most things went up about a dollar or twoIt comes with 2 sides (drink is not Included)Always get the same thing and I like it
I got the Ultimate Ponchos... The meat was great!!! Everything was great, actually... And I dont say that often. The ONLY thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that they advertised fried catfish, which my friend ordered, and they came back 15mins later to say they had no more catfish. They offered another type of fish though. Service was good. The iced tea is BREWED, and brewed well!! Not tangy or too bitter... All in all... Ill DEFINITELY go back again!!
Outstanding food... Ultimate Panchos, Brisket Enchiladas and the T-Bone steak were really good!, outstanding service and price is very affordable... It was my first time there and I will definitely go back. Highly recommended...
The ribeyes good and also the potato salads isnt getting some flavor in it. I really liked how they redesigned the place. Also the atmospheres doing fine. The service heres good.
Service was terrible. Our server Lizbeth was way too concerned with her conversation with the table in back of us where her friends were at. Pretty annoying. Where is management to say something and actually get her to do her job?! ?!
We had the fajita plate, and there is a lot served on the plate. They were tasty and tender. Had there flour tortillas, they were really good. Totally enjoyed ourselves.
Ordered botana for 1. Rice was cold, fajitas were tender but just warm. I prefer hot food. Waiter was good.. But wont be returning anytime soon.
were regular diners, but since they increased their prices by $2 each entree ,we can definitely say ,were not going back .i guess they want diners to chip in ,for their renovation/remodeling expenses. bye, bye.hoping to see your business demise soon!
Over years of enjoying this spot I can honestly say don’t go there. I stop going to all fast foods and expect rude and stupid excuses... from there but not a place that I have been dedicated to for many many years... me and wife ordered 2 double meats burgers and we always get cheese... I called back and the girl tells me we didn’t tell her about the cheese .... and basically calling my wife a lier ...we wanted to host a special event here soon... forget it they might say I didn’t book it. Truth is that it decent food .... but to call us liers and no even offers to fix ... peace.
The service was average at best and the food was average at best. I got brisket and it was super fatty. I didnt even eat it but I didnt complain because it is a matter of preference. Baked potato was good. Fries were ok but alittle under done. Brisket sandwich was ok. Sweet tea was great. Overall it was ok and reasonably priced.
Great place, Ive been a loyal customer for quite a few years....I especially recommend the the brisket enchiladas, theyre excellent!!! And btw, any restaurant that puts this on their menu board deserves a bonus star in my book, lol
Good service. Awful food. I got fajitas and instead of fajitas I got a pile of grainy meat. No onions, no bell peppers, no salsa, no guac, no sour cream, no cheese. Yes, technically it is fajita meat, but thats it. The potato salad and Charro beans were good. I also got the apple pie with ice cream. The ice cream was frost burned. I dont think very many people get ice cream here. I will not be back.
Ordered the 20oz ribeye! Delicious!Great food.. Great service! Ask for Astrid; shes cute, witty and a delight to have.
I returned back to Mcallen after more than 20 years absence. I remembered Mesquite Grill when it was located at Bicentennial and Nolana. I used to go there frequently becuase I loved their Brisketsandwich.Im sorry to say I was greatly disappointed. I ordered my favorite Brisket sandwich and it came back with odd cold pieces of meat and the hamburger buns were stale and hard as a rock. The onion rings were soaked in grease and tasted bad.I spoke to my waiter and he took the food back and returned back with the same food but now it was warm. Same hard bun and odd pieces of meat.We decided to leave and requested our money back. I remember the previous owners were two brothers and maybe there is new management. This could NOT be the quality of food I was used to. Current management needs to address the kitchen staff. The cook is the heart of the business and if he doesnt care about the quality of the food. The customers can taste and see it.They have good customer service. The staff is friendly and apologized for my experience.
This is the place for excellent brisket! Whether lunch or dinner the staff takes good care of everyone.I an sure there are other plates on the menu but the brisket is just that good.Bring your hungry with you because it is not a small plate.
I remember when I first ate here and the food was amazing, the last few months the Ive been coming here, its seems as though everything seems to be microwaved and not made fresh. The baked potatoes are microwaved, and the mashed potatoes are basically instant mashed potatoes.
Casual restaurant. It was packed when we first got there around 8 pm on a Friday, but quickly died down. We went with a group of 7 friends. Drinks and food arrived shortly after ordering and were exactly what we ordered. The food was fresh and good. Service was average. Nothing bad, they were available when needed and we were served quickly. Under $15 for a good dinner for one.We had the brisket nachos (GREAT!), queso (good), and chips and salsa (average). The fajita plate was good but I should have ordered queso on it to make it even better.
Love the steaks. For the price its great. Service is always great. I guess because we go there often we are well taken care of. Keep up the good work and great food.
