Mesi Bridge - Bridge in Bajram Curri, Albania
Beautiful calm silence area surrounded by farms
Such a great jewel from the past. Unfortunate that it is so neglected nowdays.
Quite a nice place, worth visiting
Its an old bridge that looks quite impressive indeed. Guess it is more stunning in spring or autumn when there actually is water in the river bed. Worth a small detour when you are in the Shkodrë region.
The bridge is nice but without any water during the summer and the neighborhood is not interesting.
Its a good bridge and an fenomenal one, too bad there was no water when i visited...
We were looking forward to this one, only when we arrived there was no water in the river. Either due to summer time (visited august 1stor due to extreme climate change :(. Still pretty though!!
A wonderful place should be visited when you are in Albania.
We went in JulyThere was no one there except usNo water & nothing at all
Historical bridge, built 252 years ago! The view is beautiful. The river was dry, i think because of the season
Veri impressionate! I am in love with this kind of osman construction. Just great. Must in Shkoder area.
Beautiful medieval bridge was a very short bike ride from Shkoder. Very enjoyable...
Nice bike ride from Shkodër, water was getting low, but quiet and worked to cool off from the heat.
Very well preserved, impressive bridge. The site was quiet, with a bit of litter, but nothing dramatic.
One of must places to visit while in Shkodër. River has really beautiful and clean water.Sometimes the water gets dried completely, seen in one of the taken pictures 2 years ago.Builded in 18th century during Ottoman period.
There are two bridges here, one old and one new. The older one is worth the pic but the real draw is the beautiful river down below. It was not running too high so you can hike down to it and end up on a pebble beach. Beware, however, as there can be overgrown prickly shrubs and biting ants. If its a warm day, its a treat to put your feet in the cold water!
An eighteenth century bridge (alongside a nondescript modern counterpartthats a interesting piece of history with an impressive river flowing under and set to a spectacular distant mountainous background. There is pedestrian access so as to allow folk to walk on and over the bridge is they wish. Googling will return some fascinating facts.
The bridge was worth visiting..shame about all the rubbish around the place and shame there is no sign at all or anything to tell about the history of it...
Stunning. A good walk out of town or I was told there is a van that goes out to Mes. Plenty of shops and bars along the route to keep your fuel levels up. The bridge is beautiful and you can walk across it or the new bridge that runs alongside it for lots of super photo opportunities. Benches are situated right by the bridge so sit down, enjoy the views and have a picnic.
Very interesting bridge....I bet with water its prettier... 20 mins from town. Nothing else to see or do around
Not suitable for tourists, it doesnt have much of accessibility to go from the bridge to down the river.
Amazing place. Beautiful old time charm.
Small bridge that you can take a short walk at. It was sunny and hot so we couldnt stay for a long time
It’s beautiful old heritage but such a shame that it’s drought season when I visit it.
A lovely on the historical bridge penetrating the river! Beautiful mountains view on the stone walls of the bridge👌👌👌
A beautiful Ottoman bridge which is a must-see when youre in Shkodër or passing through the area.Sidewalks leading to the bridge are new and well-maintained and theres a lot of space for parking, right before the bridge.Take into consideration that theres no water in the river during summer months.
Impresiv and beautiful place.... Additionally without crowds....
Really interesting place. Google maps misdirected us the last mile or so (took us off the paved road). Be careful and remain on the pavement. It is fully paved all the way!It was well worth the visit to us. Go see it if you are in the neighborhood.
Easy to access. The River was dry, but it was still amazing to see. Like many places there was a lot of trash dumped around the area, which is always disappointing. There are a few stores to get a cold drink or ice cream nearby.
A beautiful place.. an amazing short walk on the bridge but too bad there wasnt any water in the river
Really nice old bridge. Unfortunately not so much water during summer but worth it even though.
Beautiful bridge. In good condition. 1770 builded by karamahmut pash bushatlliu. To pass kiri river.
Old bridge. Not many people around sunset. Lots of garbage in the area
One of main tourist attractions in Shkodër, worth a visit , its possible to swim in the river as well , The water is crystal clear ,, nice historic place , the bridge built by Ottomans on 18th century
Very beautiful nature around and the great historical bridge
Nice bridge and also nice river area. My dog loved the break because of the clear water to drink.
The place is really beautiful. You can walk on the bridge, go down under the bridge and enjoy sitting on stones close to the river or you can go to the new bridge next to it and look at the bigger picture. I highly recommend this place, although Google maps can be tricky if you are coming from Shkoder
This is an incredibly cool spot for some photos and to hang out for a little bit. It is an Ottoman-era bridge that is open and free to walk across. The water under the bridge is a very bright turquoise that makes it look surreal. We saw no other tourists there, and it was easy to just park along the side of the road and walk around. It is definitely outside of the city center but is an easy walk (or probably a relatively affordable taxi trip). I high recommend.
Medieval bridge, builded over river Kir to connect Shkodra with Castle of Drisht. It was build in the late 18th century, around 1770 by Pashallek of Shkodra.
This bridge is located 7 km from Shkodër. For those who are passionate about history or architecture this is the best place to visit. Mesi Bridge is a 18 th century otoman stone bridge, build by Kara Mahmud Pasha in 1770. The christalline waters flowing beneth the bridge makes this place magical.
Great old bridge near Shkoder city. It has been built in 1768 by Mehmet Pashë Bushati. Ura e Mesit is 112 m long and has 13 non symmetric arcs. It has resisted very well up to nowadays. Under this bridge flows Kiri river. Good destination to be visited in Albania.
This bridge represents the old Albanian architecture and this place is not overcrowded.
The most important brigde. It was built in the 18th century, around 1770, by Kara Mahmud Bushati, the local Ottoman pasha,[1] and spans the Kir River.[4] The building was divided in 2 phases where the first phase was only the middle arc and the arc near it and the second phase included the other 11 arches. The purpose was to connect the city of Shkodër with the city of Drisht and other cities of the northern side.
Magical place clean water nice pictures historic bridge
Amazing place. Far from the "city", at the beginning of the way to the Albanian mountains. We had a long swim in river, really a nice place!
Misi Bridge 150m, 13 arches I love visiting here in the summer months when they are water in the river
A good place to enjoy the water. Also its nice to appreciate the architecture from the Ottoman period. Not located too far from Shkoder.
The historical bridge itself and the genuine surrounding countryside is amazing.
It is kinda hard to get to the bridge but for young people its okay and it is an amazing bridge and its very old. I like the view and i would say you should visit it but there not a lot of stuff to do there exept take pictures and throw rocks at the lake. As an albanian citizen i like it and i think its worth it going there and its near the city of Shkodra where i live. You can swim there if you want.I am being honest about it and i hope you will see my post. Albania is very pretty and if you like to visit many places this is one of them. Thank you. 😊😊😊
An amazing view. A very old but still beautiful bridge. It is important to go there in spring since the water level is much higher. You can not experience the same panoramic view enthusiasm if you visit it in summer. Unfortunately a new bridge is built next to it which somehow ruined the beauty of the old one.
