Mercado municipal - Market in Coimbra, Portugal
If youre looking for proper, local, produce then please visit this place. Its great to see what the locals have to offer and the variety and quality is great
Complete, clean, and right at the center of Coimbra. Amazing prices
The fish restaurant on the up floor is soooo good.Peixe do mercado
Good to experience the local vilages produce.
Great stop for a “picnic” lunch! The whole family shared some fresh fruit, veg, cheese and bread from some of the vendors and our bellies were happy and filled. Probably the cheapest meal of the trip (which is saying a lot bc Portugal is so inexpensive)
What a wonderful place to happen upon! Many vendors selling their wares. Fruits vegetables cheeses the best bread you will ever eat, butchers, freshly caught fish fully dressed! Stopped here shortly after we arrived in Coimbra and ended up snacking on cheese, grapes, peaches, figs, olives, and freshly baked bread!
Very nice public market. Fresh veggies, fish, meat, fruit, bread, and small restaurants. Not to be missed.
It is not only a mercado for shopping but also has nice restaurants to have lunch.
Normal

Good variety of fresh produce, clean and bright.
Top
lots of choice of fish, meat, fruit and veg, bakery
Good food. The lighting/atmosphere could be improved
Big with food on the second floor.
Meh. Not really local produce, more of an outlet store feel. Very friendly vendors.
What a large variety of fruits and veggies to pick from. I love to get there, walk around the entire place at least once to get an idea of what is available and them start from the beginning again and make my purchases. Many vendors are willing to help you with your Portuguese if you want to struggle and get some native assistance on pronunciation.
Really loved this market, real fresh meat, veg and fruits, amazing.
Best place to eat Portuguese food on Coimbra down town, lunch only for 8euros.
For all your fresh fruits and veggies. Support the small businesses
Firstly, I got affordable beef and fruits. The elderly sales market women are pleasant. Though mainly Portuguese speaking, love to assist and guide...as I personally experienced. With less than 15 euros I got nearly over a weeks supply of vegetables and beef 😋
Good selection, meats, cheese, fruits and vegetables
A traditional market, old ladys selling their own fruits and vegetables. Its like to travel in time
Nice place for fresh shopping....
It is a good place but I expected it to be less pricy according to the stalls
Great place.Full of locals selling very fresh, high quality and good food. Its a really interesting experience when visiting coimbra, you can get anything from vegetables to meat or plants there. Also, the parking there is very accessible l, so its a good place to leave the card when visiting Coimbra.
I love all grandmothers in there. A place to learn new recipes
We find tasty n juicy fruit
Nice local market with fresh food
Really worth a visit, real old-style market full of local produce.
Perfect place for fresh meat, vegetable and fruits.
Very nice and local market with a fantastic atmosphere. The prices are cheap and you can really make a great deal buying your fruits and vegetables there!
Mercado Municipal is a wonderful place for you to buy your fresh ,regional fruits and vegetables. You will also find well sourced meat, fish and cheese in the other grocery. Local producers and consumers helping each other, what could be nicer?!! 9:00am is a very good choice!!!
A great central market where you can get any fruit, meat, fish or even just a cup of coffee and enjoy the sights and sounds of a busy city market.
excellent local market. 2 floors of cheese and vegetables and fruits and meats and flowers and fish... this is where the locals shop so dont expect the shopkeepers to speak English.
Great market, amazing fruits and vegetables as well as meats and seafood. Very friendly sellers willing to muddle through in English
Im a regular customer. I love the ladies still going strong in their 80s and 90s.
Local and traditional goods sold by the people who produce them or very close to source (fish and meat). People are very welcoming and warm hearted.
Heaps of local produce, worth a visit. We has a nice cheap and tasty lunch here and restrooms are spotless
Great place to buy fruits and vegetables. And also dried fruits. They had 3 varieties of figs. We bought dark figs for 6.70 euros a kg. Delicious! You must try the persimion which are orange colored fruits but make sure it is ripe and soft. Also the market was closing down at 3 pm on a Friday.
Tipical portuguese market. Very good shopping experience and also for a glimpse of the traditional portuguese food culture. The local small farmers gather around to sell their products in a very nice environment
A great place to eat! I recommend the bar, not the churrasqueria.
Nice tradicional marketplace for greens, fruits, fish and meat. Good quality products at a budget price.
The best place to buy fresh fruit, vegetable and cheese in Coimbra. ❤
