Calle Atarazanas, 10, 29005 Málaga, Spain, Marbella
Old-school covered market with a variety of food items & several tapas bars in a colorful setting.
Its a huge market where you can get fresh fish, seafood, vegetables and fruits and tons of other things. It also has several food stalls for fresh food and wine. Very busy and sometimes hard to get into the food vendors but worth it.
Vibey food market with delicious seafood, spices, fruit and vegetables. Well worth a visit 😍
Had lunch outside - fresh delicious seafood straight from the market will give you best local flavor. Service is a bit slow though (although that may be a function of the view that while eating you should take your time). Also we kept getting asked by locals for money or food.
Big market that is so full of life! Must visit on a trip to Malaga. There are little restaurants to eat typical food at and enjoy regional wine.
Massive seafood section plus lovely fruit and vegetables. Try the stalls where you can eat the prawns and paella with a wine, but go before 1pm.
Fantastic experience every time. Try some tapas while you are there. Have a good wander about, market closed Sundays and fresh fish from Tuesday to Saturday. If you are cooking while in Malaga then you are in for a treat!
A place for foodies to lose themselves in bliss. Huge bustling food market of stalls for every kind of food and spices you can imagine. The outer stalls will serve you the produce youve just goggled at to tables just outside the market walls. Good value, great experience.
Nice and classic spanish market with fresh fruity, meat and fish. Niot taht big as in other spanish cities but definetly a must-see in Malaga. Dont come to early... at 8am when it opens most of the vendors start filling up their stores and presenting their products. Before 9 or 10 am you cannot see that much.
Absolutely fabulous place, so much choice of food, tapas bars, quality products.
A peoples place. Fresh produce. Colorful. Lovely atmosphere. My favorite place in Malaga. Nice restaurants serving fresh food.
You can find fresh food for cook here! I like to see what have in the market from local people are selling.
Must-do foodie experience when in Malaga. Go for brunch and graze of fritti mista mare and slosh it down with a crisp white wine or beer
Perfect place to grab a fresh exotic juice in the morning! Quite busy of on the weekends and a little bit too expensive sandwiches
Brilliant little proper working market. I would buy my fresh food here if I lived in Malaga! There are a number of nice little coffee shops around and close by too.
If you want to see the real Málaga you must go here. Authentic Spanish life with a lot of fresh food. Lively atmosphere and you can have a good drink or coffee inside or outside. After the renovation everything looks much better.
I tend to explore the market of every city I visit, and this is one of my favourites. The architecture, the variety of products and good prices. It’s a must see!
Love this market. The hall is beautiful and the merchandise is to die for. Fresh seafood. I would sometimes just walk through for the sights 😊
If its fresh food you want this is the place to go. Tapas bars inside and out.
Fantastic place for a wander around. The displays of fresh fish, fruit, meat and vegetables is unreal. Tasty fresh fruit juices available.
Good market with lots of choices of typical food, meat, fish, fruits and vegetables.
Nice small market in the city centre. Great variety of fruits, vegetables, etc.
Excellent tourist experience for small snacks and local produce options at fair price with wide variety to choose from.
First time I visited such a place. Definitely must see if you cant to try food from Spain. Its divided in 2 sections: seafood and fruit/veg. Both sections are amazing, all is fresh. Outside the building you can try traditional food:I would advice to eat on the exit as its not so close to the road and people are more customer oriented then in the entrance
A store with fresh thing’s . In the middle to Malaga, Mercado Central de Atarazanas it’s a beautiful architecture inspired by Arabian stile.
big market with a huge variety of products.👍🏼 perfect for tourists as well as for the residents…
Avoid this shop!!! They are literally scammers and most rude people I have ever encountered. One of the shopkeeper took the customer service to another level, see picture. We bought kg of cherry which cost 12 euro, we started to check the cherries after paying, more than half was rotten, they didn’t allow us to check before buying. Without leaving shop area we engage the seller showing cherries, then they started to scream at us. No return either.Avoid them in any cost. And if someone can report them to local authority.
Great, bustling market with everything you could wish for. Bars with good beer, wines, sherry or vermouth to eat with tapas.
Great market to buy local produce and items not so local. Brilliant selection of cheeses meats fruit veg and fish. There are also a couple of good little tapas bars that get very busy. The olives from the olive store are amazing. You have to look at the produce and make sure its fresh and check the priced as can be a little over inflated for tourists.
Loves this market and although we got here a little late, I can see why so many choose to buy groceries here! Lots of fresh produce and meat along with some bars.
interesting place with local products at affordable prices (fruit, fish, olives). there are quite a few bars serving tapas and seafood. a must see when you are in málaga
This is a must see when visiting Malaga, have a wander around the market and then sit outside for a drink and some fresh seafood. Amazing!
Lots of fresh produce displayed which is a feast for the eyes. We bought a lot of food here and some of the produce wasnt as tasty as it looked. Definitely worth a visit for a look around and to soak in the atmosphere. Try before you buy. The building itself is magnificent.
Super cool place to visit!! Lots of booths offering smoothies, fruits & vegetables, cheeses & jam, nuts & dried fruit, fresh meat, etc. They also have a bar where you could have a drink & eat. Really enjoyed the experience.
I big viraety of fruits, viggies and seafood. They take cards which is also amazing! Products are fresh and the price is low. Will come back again
I just had the best mixed fried sea food I’ve ever had in my life. Sorry I don’t have a picture but I took some pictures of the market :we are definitely coming back to Malaga for this market! OMG YUMMM
Well worth a visit. Bought some tasty Spanish sweets! Great atmosphere and great to see the local produce from meats, vegetables, fruit and candy.
This has to be a must see place on a visit to Malaga.Fantastic displays of lovely produce and they cook fish for you while you while youre there to enjoy with a nice beer and a vermouth.Lovely place. The photos dont do it justice because they were taken on another visit just as the market was closing.Give its visit, you wont be disappointed.
I believe tourists are being screwed as no prices on many things.Other than that lovely place, got some spices from there and fresh olives :)
We were enjoy our visit in this market very much. You can find a lot of fresh local ingredients for good price. Besides, here you can get very good lunch at the tapas bars at the entrances.
We visited this place both in the morning and afternoon and gave very different positive experiences. The place has a huge range of food: meat, fish, fruit and a little bit of pastries. We truly enjoyed the afternoon with fried squid, green peppers and a glass of sangria.Worth to know- The food area closes at 15h, but you can enjoy some tapas and drinks till 17h.
Four stars after the first visit. I tried imported pineapple, and it was not incredible. So next time Im going for a local specity.Otherwise the market is well organised and clean and it has all the fresh food you are looking for. Its great that the meat section is divided from the fresh fruits and veggies, but probably you will smell fish anyway. After the second visit Im giving 5 stars. You can find here people who try to use the knowledge that you are new here to sell you something not worthwhile, but if you look around carefully you find great food to buy.
Unique live bazaar with great variety fresh local and sea food. Crowded busy restaurant worth visit and taste sea food.
Great place! Good smell! You can have a lunch of goodies of seafood quickly and inexpensively! Fast and pleasant service. Were impressed
Most probably the best place for grocery if you are staying near the city center. Lots of stalls with veggies, fruits, cheeses, nuts, dry fruits, meats, fishes and even one with olive oil.
Gets very busy around 11-13 but worth to get in the line for some local produce. At 1pm it was impossible to find a free spot to have lunch but there are many bars around the market who offers fresh fried seafood or paella
Great market in the heart of Malaga. We bought amazing fish and meat, the vegetables selection is fantastic too. Plenty of market stalls selling great tapas and wine 🍷 👌
Fresh fruits, fish, sea food, and seeds. You can find a wide range of olives and local specialities. The market is located in an old building having a cool architecture. You can find locals here but also many tourists since the market is at the beginning of the historic centre.
This place is a must see! From meats to fish to fruits to vegetables to nuts, this place has it all. You will be blown away by all the bright colors. I highly recommend eating at one of the little eateries along the sides. They are standing room only, but they have the freshest seafood, tapas and assortment of drinks. You can buy freshly cut Iberian ham, freshly caught fish and candied nuts by the pound, all reasonably priced. I personally made this a daily adventure.
The market is nice and lively, great place to get veg & fruits. Beautiful seafood & butcher too. Do come early when all stalls are still open. I give 3 stars mainly to one of the stall “Bar N1” in the picture. The service can be improved. We were given a table without seats and were told we would be able to get chairs in 5 mins. In the end we waited for more than 30 mins for the chairs and we had to stand to eat our food. The food is ok but quite expensive in my opinion, 1 seafood rice + 1 unit of grilled prawn + 2 tinto verano comes to €30 in total. Also, I wasn’t given a receipt with our order, I can’t check if the amount is correct or not. A lady comes with a card machine and told me it’s €30, that’s it. I’ve never had experience in a restaurant where receipt wasn’t provided. All in all, definitely recommend a visit to this market.
Great place, where is possible to buy local food and choose between many possibilities of local meat specialities, fruit and vegetables. The best of all is a possibility to try fresh prepared authentic sea foods. Highly recommended from my side to visit for everyone who likes to try new tastes and specialities and want to have authentic food experiences.
