Las Casas S/N, OAX_RE_BENITO JUAREZ, Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax., Mexico, Santo Domingo Tehuantepec
Vibrant covered marketplace with vendors selling produce, prepared foods, crafts & textiles.
Love this market! Such a huge variety of offerings. One of the best places in the city to buy almost anything. Prices are consistent with prices elsewhere. Seems that locals shop here too.
I definitely recommend to visit this place. It has almost anything. Food, veggies , drinks ect.
Came here multiple times during my stay in Oaxaca .. lots of vendors selling loads of souvenirs as well as food and drinks.
A very large covered market filled with local goods, produce, and food. Its very busy and crowded both inside and right outside. The outdoor area has a number of haphazardly constructed stalls leaning onto the main building giving off a kind of chaotic impression. The indoor area is fairly clean and well organized with stalls being thematically grouped for the most part. Lots of food, mezcal, clothes, and knick-knacks. most of it looks like it is locally made. Definitely worth visiting .
Delicious food as well as an exciting experience as vendors via for your business.
A must if you’re visiting Oaxaca. Pretty much everything available to buy here — fresh produce, meats, fish, traditional and modern clothing, mezcal, comidas and jugos, leather goods, fresh flowers, and so much more.Such a rich experience and wonderful people.
Not for the faint of heart! Even though it is jam packed with goodies, it can get hot and the smells over powering!
If you go to Oaxaca you can’t miss this place! Very unique, I suggest you to lost and to see everything! I bought typical leather shoes which are fantastic to walk!!!
The place to go to get some local food. Dont forget to walk BBQ alley. Get a juice from the jugos, find some bread and hot chocolate and the tylada. The tortilla thing that looks like a pizza. If you pick a spot that has lots of people sitting there you cant go wrong. The hygiene for this market was far above what Ive experienced in other places and countries so dont worry.
Incredible Mercado! You can find everything from local artisanal products to the tastiest traditional treats…
Bought chocolate here, but there is something for everyone! Be aware the halls are narrow and a little congested.
One of my favorite markets in Oaxaca, definitely worth the visit!
meticulous topsy-turviness on the inside. after a few steps, you come out to find the makeshift mausoleum.
Excellent food and very cheap. Its super crowded but worth the wait.
Went to buy Oaxacan cheese and mole neuro for a feast with friends - old and new!
All kinds of items, there is something for everyone, prices are very accesible anf fresh .
Great place to find everything you need. Form clothes to veggies and fruits to just random items. Enjoy the smells and the colors of this place and experience a local activity
Everything is fresh! and the Grills are out of this world..!! Visit Las Aguas de Doña Casilda..!!! amazing the one with orchata & Tuna..!! mmm
Great if you are looking for low quality "artisanal" things probably made in China. Nothing much interesting to be found unfortunately.
Nice market, firendly helpful salespeople - like everywhere on Oaxaca - good variety. I did not try to haggle as prices are fair throughout, but I have been told that haggling is a national hobby...
I only touched the surface of what this market has to offer. Its a festival for the senses.
Both of the markets side by side offer a good look at local products. It is clean and sellers are not pushy.
If you looking for artesanías or Mezcal this is the right place nothing is cheap here but you will find many good items .
I went into the place with the meats and people were rude AF. They were very aggressive in getting attention. Then sitting down, they kept telling us to move. One person said that he told us to move because one of the 2 of us did not buy a drink. Outside of the meat area, the people were fine.
Local market, nice food
Lots of interesting food and souvenirs. We drank tejate here for the first time, it was amazing. All tejate vendor ladies are so kind and sweet to us foreigners. You can ask for less syrup if you don’t like too much sugar in your drinks.
This is a primary reason you come to Oaxaca to see.
Very well-kept and organized.
This place is both crazy and so much fun at the same time. We were there for several hours and it is fun just to experience the vibrancy of the place not to mention a place to have a good meal and take some very good pictures especially if you come on a photo tour
This place is amazing and has everything you could want. My son wanted a toy sword but could not find one he liked. I asked a vendor if they had any swords that we did not see, and she walked us to another vendor who had exactly what we needed. If you dont see it what you need - just ask!
WoWzers! This is a wonderful market. So much to see down the rabbit hole! Beautiful!I really enjoyed shopping there.
Fun fun market! So many places to get food, souvenirs, mezcal and much more! All for very good prices and with great service.
We went to this market first in town and didnt buy much, waiting to check out what else was around, but then we returned here at the end of our trip and bought a ton of stuff-- it just has everything that you might want for gifts, yourself, etc. We bought pinafore aprons, artwork, mezcal, coffee, molé, grasshopper salt, t-shirts, and crazy oversized sunglass shields....dont forget to try the tejate, there are giant clay pots in the walkways and entrances where a woman will scoop out a cup for you. We were told they all use bottled water, and I was fine after drinking it....
Great place to buy things. Remember you can offer like you dont like the price.
A feast for the eyes, mouth, nose and soul. Not so much the pocketbook because you may want to buy a little of everything. Scotty MacReeves bought a nice bag for his mom and some lovely masks for his kids. There are tons of stalls where you can purchase the best local produce and meats, breads, cheeses, coffee, mezcal, mole, you name it. Not to mention textiles, pottery, clothing and many more artisanalarts and crafts. Just across the street from20 de noviembre. The mercados practice covid safety protocols, with staff checking your temp and offering hand sani or portable sink w/ soap and water as you enter.
Big mercado located in the city. There are lots of shops, and you can get anything you want. Mexican sorbet "nieve" was my favorite. Especially burnt milk flavor was awesome!!
One of the largest, most varied markets. We always leave with something delicious
Fabulous food and products...excellent shopping experience!!
Its a very locals oriented market and like many markets you can buy everything from veggies, mezcal to a cheap zippered bag which is what I went there for. I needed an extra bag for all the stuff I bought. The 20th of November Market is right next door where you can go to eat. Its like a large indoor food court. The 20 de Noviembre market is know for the area in the market called pasillo de humo where they offer grilled meats.
A nice market but full of tourists. You can negotiate everything!
Its a nice market that caters to locals as well as tourists. Its where I buy my all cotton guayabera shirts and my sugar sack shopping bags.
Great local market experience in Oaxaca city. You can find amazing moles, chilies, chocolate and even "witchcraft" items! Lots of fruits and vegetables, corn, beans!
I would have a lot of things to tell you about this place but I’ll challenge you to go there, explore whatever you want, but try the Chapolines and the Gusano Worms. Yes, for many of us in the western civilization eating things other than birds, mammals and fish it looks like disgusting. But actually part of a perfect visit to places like Oaxaca depends directly on how much you can detach yourself from your own preconceptions and get open for new experiences. Just try.
Its awesome but it has changed a lot due to more over crowding. Its still a place to go but if you dont like tight places be careful.
a very authentic place, a lot of fast food with Mexican flavor, average prices, the quality of the food is for tourists, drinks beer and various soda. You can visit it once. Another thing is the food market, there is color, a lot of offers on vegetables, fruits, cheese, alcohol souvenirs. The prices are higheraverage.
Really interesting place to visit. So much to see and to buy🤗
If youre looking for something this is the place where you can get everything.Food: blandas o tlayudas, cecina, tacos, champulines etc.Souvenirs and Mezcal... tons and tons of different mezcal bottles. Its pretty safe and clean and at nighttime there is a lot of tacos around.
Indoor market that takes up an entire square block. Lots of mezcal and mole offerings. Some coffee as well. Then normal clothing and bag options.
Great place for photography and souvenirs. They have the best prices in town. I bought beautiful Rebosos for incredible prices!
This is more than just a farmers market. Shops selling simple things you may need for your day to day life - you will find here. Clothes, jewelry, mezcal, kitchenware, assorted meats, seafood, and more. There are lanes of shops selling similar kinds of products without any fear of competition. A must visit on your way to or from Mercado 20 de Noviembre.
