Love this market, so many fresh options, and anything Oaxacan you could want as a tourist. Smoothies are great, fresh and to whatever you want to order. Tons of mezcal, handicrafts, and local food at reasonable prices.

Large indoor market with all sorts of goods. Pricing can be hit or miss and many vendors dont have listed prices. The food hall was good, highly recommend "la abuelita" over the others for the freshness of the meat. The meat hall is a sight to behold. They all sell the same food to grill for you but the quality of the meat and cooking easily distinguish the shops from eachother.

Amazing "carne de barbacoa". Amazing goat stew. You can get the meat in a taco or in a bowl served in its broth. We went for a snack of 1 taco and ended up having a full on meal. The tortillas were also excellent. A no frill food stand with a Tiny seating area but definitely worth it.

Took a breakfast there in order to try some authentic local cuisine. It was not bad but really nothing exceptional. I went to so many similar markets around the world in South America and Asia so that one I could have skipped with no regrets to be honest even for the food.

Amazing!! In this market, you’ll find “Las Aguas de Casilda”, which are the most famous aguas frescas (fruit water). , in Oaxaca. You can even find a book about them. You can also find “Changüita”, which sells oaxacan ice cream. The most traditional ones are “sorbete “, which is like 3 leches, then Pecan, and Leche quemada, which is a milk caramel, absolutely delicious. Everything really clean and made with purified water. You’ll be able to find everything!! It’s an amazing experience you don’t want to miss.

If you want to buy a real handcrafted you have to go and buy there. But ask the price and honor that, because a lot of people work a lot of hours to make a one single piece. And they are really true artist!!!!

Theres not much variety at this market. Visit nearby Benito Juárez for that. But chocolate and bread are here in abundance and an awesome eating experience. Tlayudas are huge tortillas toasted and topped with grilled meats, grilled vegetables and salsas. If the hall is too crowded or smoky, you can grab a table in the market center. Very worthwhile!

Go to comedor Yolita for the best (pricedtlayudas! Loved the tlayuda con pollo (pechuga), which is actually not often to be found in Oaxaca city. For 65 pesos it comes with the usual & the meat of your choice, but as an extra they also add tomatoes and even avocado! Best price-for-what-you-get tlayudas since our 4 month travel trough Mexico! Will definitely go back.

Foodie haven here in Oaxaca. Personally love the meat road here. Indoor grills with individual seller offering their own meat. You walk around and choose which one you like best. Everyone sells everything separate (drinks, meat, sides). Make sure to bring cash. They also sell bread, mezcal, moles and tons of other food like enchiladas, enfrijoladas. Almost any Mexican breakfast you can imagine

Super fun. Giant place with mostly friendly vendors. Get lost and forget what time it is. We ate vegan food in Los Jarritos (a food boothand it was amazing! They made me a tlayuda with all the vegetables and a wonderful sauce. And they have vegetarian options on the menu that can be veganized. We bought a variety of moles and chocolates at Chiles Secos Almita. They have the largest selection of moles that we saw and they spent a lot of time with us and were super sweet to us.

01/13/2022, I say, place is amazing. Varies of different restaurants to choose from. It is like a swamp meet where you can go from store to store. Many Mezcal stores many flavors to taste from. I had to try these places so we ate little from different restaurants 😆. I also noticed many Americans come out here to Oaxaca. If you get the chance to come out here. Visit the places and their culture. And some of the tours they offer.

Definitely a must go to if you want to enjoy the perks of Oaxaca. One side is nothing but Oaxacan food. You name it, they have it👌. On the other side youll find Huaraches, Oaxaca clothes garments, jewelry, leather belts, mezcal and tequila shops, and other hand crafted goodies and souvenirs. Its huge do make sure you have time to explore and youll find interesting stuff. I got 4 pairs of huraches ranging from $5-$15 USD.

It’s a great market with cheap food where locals eat but the meat is great quality! Go to the area with all grills and you’ll see all the meat there, it’s so intense and worth experiencing! I had a tlayuda just next to the entrance to the grill area and it was perfect! It’s so full of flavour, a lot of Oaxaca cheese and the meat slices are amazing! I recommend taking one with 3 meats (pork, beef and chorizo). I came back the second day to try mole too. Not my taste but it’s worth trying nevertheless. Genuine Oaxaca experience! Also worth trying the hot chocolate with water served with the typical bun!

20 de Noviembre is an indoor food court but dont let that turn you off. Its loaded with different food vendors and the section of the market I liked is called pasillo de humo. Its where they have grilled meats. Its smoky, noisy and can be confusing. I had a mix of sausages, beef and cecina which is salted pork. The process goes like this or at least it did for me. You order the meat and go grab a table/seat. Then someone will walk over (different vendorand offer you different salsas and grilled vegetables. Then someone else will ask you what you want to drink. These are all 3 separate vendors and you pay each vendor separately. At 1st I thought they were all part of the same vendor. The vendors call out for you to order from them which can seem a bit aggressive at times and if youre only in there to look can be a bit intimidating. Dont let this deter you! In my humble opinion go try out this market. The food is local fare, its good and its inexpensive! Swing by there if you have the time.

An amazing experience! You will see so much food - delicious food. I recommend going to going to the meat stalls, they al serve pretty different types of meats, you order as much you want find an open seat and they bring the food to you. There are people selling tortillas and additional tips like onions, peppers, etc. The market is labyrinth of stalls that offer everything you can imagine. Food stalls, clothing stalls, gift stalls, liquor stalls. I recommend walking and getting lost in all the colors and glory this market offers the senses.

Full of kitchens and bakeries, they offer many traditional Oaxaqueno dishes. As well as an alley of grilling, "smoke alley", where you pick your meats and they grill immediately for you with any side you like and homemade tortillas. Very colorful atmosphere. Visited many times here during my stay. You can also find many other items to buy such as chocolate and mezcal and pottery.

Dont miss then meat passage, and have lunch there. Dont be scared. You get the meat from on eplace, then someone else comes to sell you the sides, and someone else for the tortilla. Unless you buy for a whole table in which case they seem to come up with some sort of platter. Its probably your meat quota for the month, but it will be well spent.

The 20 of November Market is an Amazing Market located in central Oaxaca. Even if you aren’t coming here to buy it’s a great place to explore and get lost in. I would definitely recommend trying the chocolate and chapulines. Keep in mind this is a market that locals go to for their every day stuff. Do not just take pictures of people without their permission but it’s totally acceptable to snap some shots of the items being sold.
